Where's JDeveloper11g file browsing feature for codes?

In JDeveloper 11g, whenever I type img src, followed by an equation sign, I expect to see the File Browse link being popped up along with all the files within the directory so I can easily pick the ones I need. Unfortunately, this function does not work, and all I get is "CDATA or ELExpression" being popped up which usually happens when there is no code insight. I am sure the File Browse and easy pick feature did exist before way back in the early versions of 10g. Is this a bug in 11g or it is a step backward by removing that feature although I don't believe there's a sound reason to.

Hi, I'm afraid I have got this issue since the first clean install. For all 11g versions I have tried on, there is no popup for File Browse, as you can see here:

On the other hand, when I checked the old 10g version that I have previously, it has that, just like below.

For all the above, I am using JSP page. Usually I would create a custom application, and then adding a new JSP. I believe this shouldn't result any peculiarity, as it's almost standard procedure.
Update: I think I've figured out. I didn't have image files in the directory yet. After I have put some images in the directory, I'm now able to see the File Browse.
By the way, is JDeveloper 11g short of support for inline CSS parameters?
For instance, if i type the HTML, [anchor] input style [equals], it doesn't pop up things like 'text-align' etc. I think I noticed this feature when I'm doing a preview of 12c, so can anyone confirm that this doesn't exist in any version of 11g?

I have an app where you use file browse to select a file on the file system. Then, I parse the file name to determine other attribution to record in database, which may result in more user interaction before creating the database record.
So, currently users can do this one file at a time. Anything available to let me loop through all files within a user-specified directory?

File Browser capabilities for V1.6

Hello, 
I am using a File Browser to add/upload files to my reports just like the How To: Build File Upload/Download App. The reports are working fine and so are the files until I want to edit/update individual records. When the FETCH ROW is executed, all fields for that record are returned except for the File Browse field. My question is, can the File Browser be used to recall the file that was attached, so that the user can decide if they would like to edit/update that record with another file?
 
 
Right now I have all the records fields returning data except for File Browser field that remains blank. When I click it, select a different file, then save, all the other fields are updated except for this one that continues to display the original attached file.
 
 
The File Browser's setting are: 
HTML Form Element Attributes:onchange="htmldb_item_change(this)" 
Source Used:Always, replacing any existing value in session state 
Source Type:Database Column 
Maintain Session State:Per Session 
Source value or expression:FILE_NAME

Hello, Does anyonr know how to "PERMANTLY" disable that annoying caret browsing feature for good.....

It's odd it only keeps popping up (caret browsing) when I use the Google search engine of which I like to use as my primary search enging and does not happen when I use other search engines such as Yahoo, Bing and so on. "I just want to disable it for good". I have tried everything I know, went into the about config page and changed the browsing features to false and it still do not disable it along with other steps to try to permanently disable it and it still comes back. I have Firefox version 33 with Windows 7. ANY help with this annoying feature would be appreciated, Thank you....

Thanks jscher2000, that seems to have solved this annoying problem that only happened when using Google search engine, (checked mark "never show instant results") Now I'll have to look for an add-on (if any) to make sure it never creeps back up on me, Thank YOU again.....

I just upgraded from 10.7 to 10.8 and while going through the feature list I wanted to look more closely at the all-new features for China. However, it looks like most them are not there.
OS X Mountain Lion brings all-new support for many popular Chinese features and services. The dictionary app now includes the Standard Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese. Improved text input makes typing in Chinese easier, faster, and more accurate. With eight new fonts, your writing can appear formal, informal, or fun. Mail works with QQ, 163, and 126. Baidu, the leading Chinese search provider, is a built-in option in Safari. Now you can post to the web right from the app you’re in. Post videos with Youku and Tudou. Post to Sina Weibo, the popular microblogging service. And share easier than ever. All these new services are easy to set up on your Mac.
I've not been able to find anything about the new services that OS X integrates with. For example, in Safari I can only choose between Google, Yahoo and Bing. In QuickTime Player I can only upload to YouTube and Vimeo, and the only microblogging service I can add is Twitter.

Where is the "import/export" feature for backingup/restoring bookmarks file?

In 3.6x, I could go to the Bookmarks tab and open the "Export bookmarks" and backup up my bookmarks to an external back up drive. Conversely, I could go to the Bookmarks tab and open the "Import bookmarks" and bring in a saved bookmark file. I upgraded to 9 this evening and, so far, in 9, for the life of me, I can't find the "Import bookmarks" / "Export Bookmarks" feature. In the past, I've experienced crashes whereby I've lost ALL of my bookmarks. With 3.6x, I could backup the bookmark file daily if I so desired but, with 9, I can't do it! HELP!

And, well, DUH!...I've used "Show all bookmarks" so many times, over the years, I simply forgot what it was called!...I would just go there, click on it and do my backups...When I went to do so, last night, with 9.0.1, I simply didn't recognize it and, thought "Show all bookmarks" would somehow "unpack" all the carefully-foldered bookmarks I've developed over the years...
Hmmm...call it a "senior" moment...

Where are the Flash CS6 features for animators?

It looks to me that Flash CS6 is quite a letdown to me. Almost none of what I wanted went through.
No 64-bit support (Seriously? Yeah, even 32-bit programs run better in 64-bit OS*, but native 64-bit support is still desirable), no Photoshop application frame (Why, Adobe? Why Photoshop and Illustrator and no one else?), and I don't see any new drawing features featured in the website. The only thing I (remotely) liked would be the maximum canvas sixe finally going up to 8192 pixels.
Just saying that this release is quite a letdown to me. It's basically CS5.5 with extra export options that I'm never going to need.
I'll see how much 3D support this version will have. Maybe that part will change my opinion.
* The idea of using a 32-bit OS in a modern multimedia workstation is a joke. You can't use more than about 3.5 GB of physical RAM across the entire OS. If you're using multiple 32-bit applications, 64-bit OS is more desirable. And I'm talking about Windows here; I don't know how Mac memory management works.

I would like to see all these features:
•Ability to sync MovieClips to the timeline (through some checkbox option)
•Authortime Pixel Bender filters (imported to Library and available in Filters Panel)
•ToonBoom's brush tool

Lost my Edge Reflow file when exporting for code editor

Hello,
I just finished my project and exported the code. The code look nice, but I wanted to change something back in the Edge Reflow file and when I opened the file all I could see was a blank screen, no pages, no information, no nothing. The only thing I saw was that on the Asset Library all of the pictures I used were there, and an error on the 'talk to the team' button: Failed to load URL file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Adobe/Adobe%20Edge%20Reflow%20CC%20Preview/www/reflow/ src/modules/extensionbar/view/templates/olark.html with error (-3)
Could somebody tell me what to do at this point?

I managed to figure this out through laborious guess and check. Just thought I would share the bug in case anyone else ever runs into it.
A third party library I was using wrote try catch statements wrong:

No idea why the original author did it like this, probably meant to write "error:*" and didn't release shift fast enough after the "(" but as you might suspect "Error" is a reserved object name to cannot be declared as a paramenter variable
when replaced with:

catch(error:Error){
the memory access bug went away. What is strange is that the incorrect try/catch statement works just fine when published to swf, air, or android and is only an issue with the iOS converter, and obviously produces a very cryptic error.
I was using CS5.5 so maybe this has been fixed (if not I would suggest making this a compile time error) but just thought I would post my findings.

Where can we suggest new features for Yahoo Messenger and other RIM IM clients?

I just downloaded the new version of Yahoo Messenger and I like the user interface. But every time a new version comes out, this application creates a less-complete history of contact behavior. Several versions ago, the contact's status showed up in the open conversation, along with the time stamp of when the status changed. This included Idle and Custom Status changes. That disappeared. In the last version, you could see the time the contact signed in or out last, and sometimes both. Now they're gone as soon as you close the conversation.
The whole idea of having Yahoo up on the BlackBerry all the time is that you don't have to be staring at the screen all the time, that you should be able to take it out of your pocket and check out those events that occurred that didn't set off alarms. I'd like the whole contact history to be right there, for as long as I want to keep it active. How can I make this suggestion to RIM for the next version of Yahoo Messenger? Thanks.

Question is how and which windows can be set to auto-hide?

There is a small icon on the right-hand side of the title-bar on each of the dockable windows, that is suppose to look like a pin, pressing this will enable the shuttering of that window. To turn it off again you need to press the pin icon again.

File browser shortcut

Hello,
I am using LabWindows CVI v12.0 with Windows 7. I am using the file browser feature and want to be able to click on a shortcut to another folder, but the shortcut does not appear. Is there a way to use shortcuts with the file browser?

Hello there!
Unfortunately, the File Browser Intrument won't display shortcut links in the left folder tree. These are however listed and available in the right tree, where the directory contents are displayed.
The reason for this is that, internally, the File Browser Instrument explictly doesn't allow shortcuts to be listed in the right tree, due to the way in which the intrument is written.
However, you are free to change the behavior of the custom control. The source code is located under <CVI Installation>\toolslib\custctrl\FileBrowser.c, so you can modify it to fit your needs.
Here is a helpful hint about how you could modify this custom control:
PopulateFolderWithPath populates the right directory tree with all directories under the current expanded item.
The folders from that directory are retrieved using GetFirstFile and GetNextFile.
However, GetFileAttrs filters the items under the directory. As GetFirstFile returns -1 when the .lnk is found, it doesn't add it to the right directory tree and gets skipped.
Here are some options about how you could work around this limitation:
Explicitly verify for .lnk files. This way you can determine that the file/folder is actually a link, without using GetFileAttrs.
Although it's easier to determine symbolic links on Linux (readlink, stat), on Windows, this is a suggestion from MSDN on how to do this: Determining Whether a Directory Is a Mounted Folder

As noted, this confuses the issue, since a possible answer was posted in the OTHER thread.. Check your server logs, you are probably timing out.. From prior threads with a similar issue:
Have a look at the httpd.conf file (or get your system administrator to look at it) and see what the value of TimeOut is set to. You may need to increase it in order to export large tables via APEX.
