Where's Mission of Burma's new album?

Ah, heck, I was thrilled to see that ITunes would be selling Mission of Burma's new album "The Oblitterati," but the reviews told me to steer clear. Not 'cause the album was bad, but because the transfer was a disaster. This seemed to be good advice; there was even static on some of the audio samples. Now the album's gone, but I'd still like the privellege of paying for it, so could somebody tell me where the heck it's gone to, and when it will come back?
Also, since I'm on a network that limits bandwith usage (University, natch) I tend to surf the store using the "Browse" option, but the "all" folder in the "Alternative" category doesn't seem to want to come up right now. Is there explanation for this, or is just an everyday SNAFU I've been lucky enough not to notice?
Also, who answers my questions here? Is it Apple staff or just random techie folk? If I wanna get a professional opinoin, what's the email to contact?
Thanks for any advice you might have. These machines can be so confusing.

where are all the songs and whole albums i bought for i tunes? i have a new macbook but iTunes has none of my paid for music

Your purchases won't automatically show in your new Mac's iTunes library. If you go into iTunes > Preferences and on the Store tab tick the 'show iTunes in the cloud purchases' then what you can redownload should show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against them - click on the cloud to download them. Or click on your name towards the top right of iTunes and then click Purchased on the popup, and you can redownload them from there.
If you've moved countries since buying the music, or if the rights-holders have removed them from the store, then you won't be able to redownload them. In that case if you still have your old computer then you could copy them over from that (e.g. via an external drive : How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support or via home sharing), or copy them from your backup of your downloads/library and add them via File > Add Too Library

  • I sync photos from my comp onto my iphone 5 and it made my phone create two new albums which won't delete. HOW DO I DELETE THEM?

I uploaded photos from my laptop onto my iPhone 5 through iTunes and when I went into my photos app on my phone, I went into "Camera Roll" to see if they were there which they weren't. So I went to where all the albums in my photos app are and I saw that two new albums called "iPhone" (name of folder with photos in I wanted to transfer that was in my documents before I sync them) and "Photo Library". When I went into both albums I wanted to see if I could delete them, so just like every other photo there is a trash can on the bottom right corner but for the photos in these albums didn't have it. I then went back to the list of albums and clicked on edit, hoping the little red circle with a white line would come up so I could delete it, just like I do with any other album, but these two albums didn't give me the option to delete. I tried going into iTunes to see if I could delete the few selected photos from there but it wouldn't let me. I tried going into the devices thing which was suggested for iPhone 4s people but it didn't have everything else people told me to do. I am an extreamly fussy person and want them to go away but I just can't delete them because they won't let me. Is there anyone who has been through the same situation and ended up deleting the albums off their phone? PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE!! (I'm not talking about albums we choose to make because that's easy and actually lets me delete them as these two albums won't)

This is normal and is how Apple handles photos.
    There are NOT duplicate photos.
Just as a song is in your itunes library and you can access that exact same song from a playlist,  all  photos synced to iphone are in the photo library and those exact same photos (NOT duplicates) can be accessed from the individual albums.
It is working exactly as it should.

  • How to organize photos in a new album or event

First of all, please allow me to get something off my chest: recently, I gotmyself a new MacPro. My older MacBook died on me. One thing I was really happyabout is that, finally, I had iPhoto. Well, this turned into a nightmare. I donot consider myself as a tecno-idiot, but I guess I am from what I haveexperienced so far with iPhoto. It seems to me that is so"sophisticated" that its developers forgot those of us who only needthe simple pleasures of life...in this case just a place to store the photos ina particular order so we can see them or show them. Simple, no?
    Thanks.
As for the actual problem, here goes: I use two notebooks, one is thisMac and the other is a Windows based unit.
Let me first refer to the organization of the pictures in the Windows basedunit
    1. My pictures (all nicely organized each set in its own folder) havebeen on the Windows PC, using MS Office Picture Manager. Having iPhoto, Ithought I would move them to the Mac.
    2. As we all know, when one downloads pictures from a camera, their"names" appear as a bunch of letters and the number indicating thesequence.
    3. So, in MS Office Picture Manager, I have them organized in thefollowing manner 2003>wedding; 2003>Europe and so on right up to thisyear. Each folder begins with a year.
    4. In, let's say, 2003>Europe, I organized the pictures startingwith numbers so that I have them like so: 2003>Europe>1. Paris-Eiffeltower;  2. Paris-Eiffel tower-top floor;3. Paris-Eiffel tower-panorama Paris...and so on.
Now, let me go to the Mac.
    1. I copy-pasted my entire photo collection to an external hard driveand from there got iPhoto to import them where they landed in"Events", each showing as an "Event". All seemed well sofar.
    2. It so happens that I am trying to sell my house. The realtor wantsa set of pictures, so I created a new "Event" and went into variousother events to pull pictures from them and form a special set for the realtor. And here is where the problem surfaced.
    3. I started moving pictures into the new "Event". I thengave each picture a number (1-, 2-, 3-, etc.) and a description (main entrance, entrance hall, and so on, just like I did in MS Office Picture Manager). So farso good.
    4. Then I went to View>sort>by name. It turned out that unlike PictureManager, iPhoto does not recognize numbers as "names" and so, it didnot put them in the right sequence.
    5. NOT ONLY THAT, the pictures got scrambled and some of thedescriptions were in  sequence and othersnot and some reverted to their original names (in Windows) and a couple evenwent further back and appeared as DSCN...whatever.
    6. I tried various ways. Nothing. So I called Apple support anddespite the fact that we seemed to be speaking different languages for a while,I finally understood that I needed to create an "Album" (under"Albums") and do the work there.
    7. So I did, but the 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. classification still would notwork. So I tried A-, B-, C-, D-, etc. and THAT would not work either. So I justgave up in frustration.
So, my question is this: is there anyone who can kindly let me knowhow I can do something as simple and straightforward as creating a new album, move pictures from "Events" or "Photos" (I even tried fromthere) into the new album and have them sort themselves as sequence with thenames I give them. Or at least, stay in the sequence I assigned them.
I am sorry for this long-winded message, but there was no shorter wayto explain this.
    Many thanks,
    Emile

    Emile
Bear with me a minute. You're confusing a lot of things.
    1. As Larry says, on Windows you are using a File Manager for you your photos. All well and good if it works for you, but limited. Why? Because it doesn't leverage any of the extra information available with photos files. Essentially, a File Manager doesn't distinguish between a photo nd a Word file or a Music file. They are just files.
    2. Photo Managers like iPhoto (Or Picasa, Aperture, Lightroom et al) work differently. They are designed to leverage the additional information available in the photo file. Case in point: Date. In the File Manager you have folders created for Year/Month/Day. In iPhoto the pics are grouped into Events automatically. These Events are based on the date and time the Photos were taken, and which is recorded in the Exif metadata for the photo file.
As we all know, when one downloads pictures from a camera, their"names" appear as a bunch of letters and the number indicating thesequence.
These are Filenames assigned by the Camera. In iPhoto you don't change Filenames you edit Titles. Titles are quite independent of filenames and are an entry in the Exif metadata.
I'm not sure what you've done in the renaming sequence, but iPhoto does not have a Sort -> by Name command. There is a Sort By Title command.
But you would not use Events for this job anyway. You would use an Album. Create an Album, drag the pics to it and then you can sort them in any order you want, manually. Then using the Batch Change Command you can create a sequence for them. So, Title the pics 'House Sale' and check the box to append  number and the result:
House Sale 01, House Sale 02 etc

  • HT4236 I've run out of room on my hard drive. I bought an external drive and exported all my albums to the external drive then deleted the albums from iPhoto. I want to sync both from my ext drive and new albums in iPhoto. No dice. Help!

I've run out of room on my hard drive. I bought an external drive and exported all my albums to the external drive then deleted the albums from iPhoto. I want to sync both from my ext drive and new albums in iPhoto. My photos on the devices get wiped out when I sync to iPhoto since I deleted all the albums. But when I sync to my hard drive (where I maintained the album structure) the photos are copied to my iPad but lose all the hierarchy and folder structure. Now I have to scroll through thousands of photos to try to find the one I'm looking for. Before I sync any more devices I want to know the following: 1) can I restore the album structure on my iPad by using the photo cache? 2) is there a way to sync both new iPhoto albums AND pictures in the folders in my hard drive? And 3) how can I keep the photo hierarchy structure from my hard drive intact on my devices?

    Don't do that.
Copy /Photos/Photo library/ to the external.
    Hold Option and launch iPhoto.
Select Choose library and select the Photo library you copied to the external.

Just purchased a new album on my iphone.  The album shows up in my itunes account but has exclamation points after it and I'm not able to play those songs.  How do I fix this?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library and then download again using the Purchased link in the right-hand column of the iTunes Store home page, or transfer them from the iPhone again.

  • How do you put one in series of the same photo in a new album

I have tried to put just one edited shot, while there are still others "connected" to it.I only want the one I highlight to go in a new folder..but,,it always takes all the other ones as well.I have tried duplicating the one I like and transferring that one however,,they still all transfer to the new folder. .???

"Connected" means stacked. They all move but if you hit the number in the stack they will all close up and show only the "pick".
Once in a album you can make any of the images the "Album Pick" so you only see that one when they are stacked.
If you unstack the images then you can bring one individually along, but this is not using the power of stacking.
It is better to bring all of them in, make an album pick if this is not the same as the pick and just hide the others. If you change your mind, just open the stack, select a new album pick and your done.
The thing about Stacks is the images should all be alike where you would only really want 1 of all of them.
Tom Bagelturf did a really nice description of a bunch of Apertures features, including Stacks... Check it out here:

    Very worthwhile reading.

  • Enabling RSS to tell folk of new album

    Hope this question makes sense...
...I've just started to create a web page for my 1yr old son. What I'd like to have is an RSS subscription that family can subscribe to so that when I post new photos their browser (even though most of them are no doubt using non-RSS IE) will show that there is new content to view.
However, from looking around iWeb it looks as though you can only enable RSS on a specific photo template page. This won't work for the way I want to organise my site. I want to publish a photo album on a photo page. New photos will be added as a new page, so there will be a page/album for his first year, a page/album for his 1st party, a page/album for our recent holiday etc. Once the page is created and published it then won't change. Otherwise when people see that a page has been updated they'd have to scroll through loads of photos that they've already seen and it would make it a large cumbersome collection of photos.
How and where do I enable RSS? Could this be by creating a 'photo index page' on which I use a photo template and use single photos from each album/page as hyperlinks to the individual photo pages?
Have I answered my own question or have I missed something?
    Thanks

Someone here will correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the RSS stuff only works on blog and podcast templates. Having said that, I also think that the blog format would be perfect for what you are trying to accomplish. To get an idea of what this blog format can do for you, have a look at my site, which I use to keep people up-to-date on my 13 month-old daughter... http://www.dirtdoog.com
What I envision that you could do is to use the blog format as your main organizing tool. IT's perfect because it has the RSS capabilities and naturally has this chronologic organization...sort of like a diary or events. You can use it to expound about new photo albums for sure, but you can also put videos and other milestones or comments on it. Each blog entry page really simply functions as any other webpage...with built in organization.
So you would use the blog format to Announce happenings and updates to your website...setting up new blog entries whenever you have a new photo album to show, for example. Then you set up a separate photo index page, and here is a great way to do this...
Create a living, growing photo gallery
This will let you set up a separate section of your site as a photo index page with representative thumbnails leading to the different albums. Now when you announce new albums on your blog, you can put a couple representative photos on the blog entry page as well....AND you will provide a hyperlink directly to the slideshow for that album or just to the album page. I think this would work nicely.
So basically at the top of your pages, you would just have two menu links...one for your blog and one for your photo gallery (gallery index).
    What do you think?

  • ITunes Store new Album list

    Hi all,
I hope this is the correct section...
I remember that some times ago, when I had to search the new album list in iTunes Store, I had a screen divided in 4 sections (1 for each week) with all the new albums / singles... Now I'm not able anymore to find this list... Is there something changed ?!? Now I'm able to see a list of the most recent album...
    Thanks
    Max

You've fallen over a long-standing and intermittent bug in the Store where it claims to be showing the correct number of items but in fact either isn't showing any or isn't showing all of them, although all the episodes appear when subscribing. There isn't really anything you can do about this yourself as the problem lies with the Store, not your feed. It usually sorts itself out in a few days, but it's worth emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to re-index your podcast as this may speed things up.

  • Create new album with new versions of selected images

Is there an easy way to create a new album containing new versions of the currently selected images?
Some explanation where I need that feature:
First I go through the images and adjust them for the some purpose. Then I need the same images in another place also and I now that there I need them to be a bit brighter or cropped differently or something. So it would be nice to be able to just select the images and say "I want a new album containing new versions of these images".
Is that possible somehow? Have I just missed something while reading (riffling through) the manual...

There is not such an option but it could come in handy. You can use Aperture's feedback to suggest it.
For now the only way would be duplicate versions and move them to another album.

  • New album in iPhoto is not a clean slate...

When i create a new album in iPhoto it´s filled with old pictures automatically.  How do I get this to not happen?  How do I create new albums with no content?
Also, when i remove files in these albums, the orginial photo also seems to disappear. I want it to be like a playlist in iTunes, where nothing happens to the original when you remove the playlist or stuff in it.

    Create new album from selection
