Where's My Album Art?

Hello,
My podcast was accepted on iTunes but my Album art has not shown up. After a day I checked my rss file and noticed it was referencing the wrong graphic. I have since corrected the file, uploaded it, and re-ping’ed my feed with iTunes. It has been about 2 days and iTunes is still showing the old graphic. Any suggestions? My rss feed is http://www.joemcclane.com/joemcclane/Podcast/rss.xml and my iTunes ID is http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=256672630.
Thanks for your help,
Dad4GodsGlory

Looks like you changed the RSS image url, but not the iTunes image URL.
This is what would need to change:
<itunes:image href="http://www.joemcclane.com/joemcclane/Images/CatholicHack_Pic2low.jpg"/>
Might be just as easy to just change the file name from "CatholicHack_Pic2low.jpg" to "Catholic_Hack.jpg"
I think iTunes perhaps looks at the filename more than the URL...so if the filename hasn't changed it thinks its the same as what it has already....

  • Where's the Album Art?

When I buy an album from iTunes, the first thing I do is burn a back-up CD in case my hard drive or iPOD crashes one day. Where can I find the album art for the CD I purchased? I can't seem to find it on my hard drive. I can usually find a decent quality photo of the front of the album on the web, but I'm looking for the track listing and liner notes as well.
If Apple doesn't provide this with my purchase (though I think I'm entitled to it), does anyone have any suggestions for finding this info and making a "complete" CD jacket for the album?
    Thanks.

There are several folders named "Album Artwork" on my machine. The one that is in my default iTunes folder (where the music files went) contains only a folder named "Local" which is completely empty. I found the one you referenced in My Music and it also contains the "Local" folder. Inside this one is a bunch of other folders that are all named with numbers. Inside those folders is a file named with a long string of numbers and letters and ends in .itc, but this file cannot be opened by any program on my machine.
Any other ideas? What are the files called that I should be looking for (maybe I can find them in some other directory).
    Thanks.

  • Where did the album art display go?

In iTunes 10.6 for Windows, the album art display in the Library column is gone. I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to put it back. For clarity's sake, I'm talking about the thumbnail at the bottom left corner, right under Playlists – the one that shows 'now-playing' album art or videos. What (hopefully simple) procedure am I missing, or otherwise doing wrong?
    Thanks!

  • Where is the album art?

    Hello all,
I just bought an ipod and installed itunes. I imported my Windows Media library. However, the new itunes folders are all screwed up and there is not any album art. Tech support said there is nothing I can do. Well, besides reload and rip my cd's str8 in2 itunes. Problem is, I have 787. Is there anyway I can reorganize the folders and view the album art?
    Thanks,

This has been answered a 1000 times.
    There are several methods:
    You can:
    1. Load a JPEG or PNG picture of the albun art to the phone. Then select the Album in the music player then seletct Options-> Album Art then Options-> Change then select the picture file.
    2. You can add the Album art in the MetaData. In WMP11 select the songs, then right click on them select "Advanced Tag Editor" Then select the Pictures Tab. Add the Picture (JPEG or PNG) and then set it as "Cover Front" and then select OK. Now transfer (not synch) the songs to the phone using Mass Storage.
Method 1 has the problem that the Album Art is tied in the phone only so if you delete the songs and load them again you will have to set the album art again.
Methid 2 has the problem that if you Sync using WMP then sometimes the songs are converted before the sync and this causes the Album Art to be deleted. This is a WMP11 problem, that's why if you want Album Art it's better to put it in the Metadata then use File Transfer and drag and drop to put the files to the memory card or mass memory.

  • Zen Mozaic 8GB, the same Album Art shows up on every f

My Zen Mozaic froze last Sunday but I brought it back to life using that wonderful reset button (or whatever it's called). It works as it should except for one thing - every single music file appears to belong to the same album. This might not have been an issue if it wasn't for the fact that I actually have more than one album on my player. Also, some of the tracks doesn't even belong to an album at all since I recorded them myself using Audacity. Thus, I am quite sure that something is wrong.
The background image when playing any file changes to this album image, and when I click the white button a few times to change to the playlist, the album image pops up again (as it normally should... If the song actually belonged to the album). The image used should normally only be present on one track though this one track, according to Creative Centrale, doesn't even have an album image. :smileyvery-happy:
I removed the song that naturally should have that album image, turned the player off and on again but the problem is still there. This never happened before the player froze. I attempted to bribe the player, but it didn't help either.
Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this?

  • 5800 xpressmusic album art issue

got this phone yesterday and i have since transferred a bunch of music from my PC to my phone. however, only about 10% of all albums were able to automatically include the album art. alternatively, i had to manually add the album art for each album - provided if the album art could be found in the gallery. what's curious is that, when connected by usb to my PC, and because adobe photo starter pops up by default for any connected media device of mine, i could see that the album art images, which could not be found in the gallery (and hence unable to be manually added), were very well present somewhere in my phone. clearly, i have trouble locating them. furthermore, whenever i delete an album art image from my gallery, i can kiss the said album art goodbye from the album/music app too.
    my questions are:
    1) where are the album art images which are floating somewhere in my phone/memory card ie. how can i locate them?
    2) is there a way whereby i can ensure that the album art covers would be automatically secured along the music i transfer, so i would not have to manually add album art covers to each and every album?
    3) why does the fate of album art covers being automatically attached to the albums seem so random?
    4) is there any one way to fix these issues?
for info's sake and if relevant, i use mass storage mode via usb.
all help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance!

    1. Its embedded within the mp3 file.
    2. By embedding them into the file
    3. When you use iTunes (if you did not customize some settings) or the built in music browser, these mp3 files are simply linked to their corresponding album art. Once the mp3 or the album art's location is changed, the link is broken. However for embedded files, they are "inside" the mp3 file, like the tags we put for album and artist, etc, so they are taken with them.
    4. I use TagTuner to embed my mp3's with album art.

  • Get Album Art option,

If the album art already exists this does nothing. is it possible to overwrite the existing album art by deafult?

There is an easy way to overwrite and choose new album art for albums in iTunes, Here's how:
    1. Download the image you want to use as album art.
    2. Open iTunes and select ALL the songs in the album you want to change the art for.
    3. with all of the album's songs selected, right click on any one of them and click "Get info"
    4. you'll be asked wheather you want ot change info for multiple items, say yes.
    5. on the window that appears, double click on the square box next to where it says "Album art"
    6. in the file selection window that opens, find and select the graphic that you want to use as the album art, and click open.
    7. making sure that the grahpic that you chose is showing in the album art box, click ok to exit back into iTunes.
    8. Wait fo ra short processing screen to load, then you album art should be changed!
Good luck, I hope this helped!

  • Album Art refuses to display

    Hi there.
I recieved the fifth generation iPod recently, and I freaking love it. Got one little... Well, big at the moment... quip, though. I got bored today, and decided to go and put album art on all of my assorted songs. All 1000+ of them. You can imagine that when 90+% of them refused to display on my iPod, I was quite tweaked. I had already noticed that some songs that had album art, but would not display anyways. Hoping it would make a difference, and because when (if) I got my DVD writer I would delete my library from my hard drive, I did not update the songs on the library, but the ones on my iPod. iTunes is set to update all songs MANUALLY.
It may be good to let you know that I have recieved a few errors in my iPod career, the one I most often get randomly being "An error occured while updating the default player for audio types. You do not have enough access privleges for this operation", and then one that worries me more: I searched google for a fix that involved turning album display on the iPod on and off, and I recieved "The iPod Hyperion EX (The name for my iPod, obviously) cannot be updated. An unknown error occured. (-50)"
I would really like to get this problem fixed. It worries me quite a bit, this thing cost 400 freakin' bucks. If you need any other info, do let me know.

I had a problem where the incorrect album art was displaying once in a while. I used the same 'fix' of disabling the art and then re-enabling it. I got the same (-50) error, and ended up with most of the art disappearing (I guess because it bombed out of the process).
I ended up using the iPod updater to do a restore which blew away everything and set it back to a clean unit. I then re-synced everything from iTunes and all was sweet - haven't noticed another problem with the album art since doing this. Hopefully it will stay that way.
Oh, I also get the same message about 'access privleges' but just ignore it - haven't noticed any detrimental side-effects with doing that yet.
    Cheers.

  • Video iPod Album Art Help

Hi, I have a 60GB video iPod and it has the album art enabled and I see the little picture when it is playing music, but when I hit the middle button twice to see the big album art picture, it doesn't show up. All I see is a white box with a black line that makes the box where the big album art should show up.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I think this is a case of the bytesize of the album art. Some of my art was acting the same so I deleted the picture and replaced with a new that knew was smaller in bytesize. Helps, but sometimes it is slow to show and comes after halfway through the song.
    Regards,
    Trond

  • Where is my album cover art?

I've been using iTunes for years. I've used it to manage the large CD collection that I had before the creaton of the iTunes store.  My collection now contains CD's that were purchased after the store opened.
In earlier years, the cover artwork for my CD's for the most part was supplied by Apple.  I also used All Music and Amazon in cases where Apple did not have what I needed.
I've just installed version 11.1.2 of iTunes.  I've discovered - again - that many of the album artworks that I had before the uprade have disappeared. I suspect that is because the album is no longer available in the iTunes store. I can understand that - if the album is being purchased now.  But why does Apple strip from iTunes the artwork that I had BEFORE the upgrade?  That doesn't seem fair.
There is another issue that is a part of this topic.  Earlier versions of iTunes had an option whereby I could search for album artwork through the iTunes software.  That seems to have disappeared. Why?  Must I now go through the laborious process of locating album cover art on my own, CD by CD, even though I had the art before the software upgrade?
This is really annoying. Over and above the unfairness of it all.

When album art is downloaded, it is stored locally, The iTunes store has nothing to do with it after that. It will appear even if you disconnect from the Internet altogether.
Aside from that I have no idea why some artwork disappeared.

  • How to: restore box in the lower left where album art used to show

How come no one else has asked this question?  Apple keeps mucking around with the look, feel and features of iTunes and it is more than annoying.  You want to lean forward and slap them a good one and tell them to knock it off.
I have finally been able to get the traditional side bar back but cannot find a way to toggle on the little box in the lower left where the album art used to show.  It used to be so easy to drag in an album art cover and another box would pop up allowing you to populate the fields pertaining to the song.  Now I have to hit the "Get Info" button to add the field info.  And what I dislike most is that I play a lot of the same songs sung by different artists and it was easy to quickly see which album was playing by looking in that left hand corner at the album art.  Now I have to dash and dart all over the place to find the right album.
If you know the answer please respond.  Thanks.

If Apple wonders why iTunes users abandon the program and move elsewhere this is a fine example.  Once a strong devotee I no longer feel that way and my next machine won't be a Mac.  Apple could have simply made it a toggle but no ... you do as Apple demands and it is that thinking (our way or the highway) that makes people bristle and walk away.
They are blind if they think they've "improved" iTunes.  Today it is more annoying than anything they have previously offered.  Appreciate the response.

  • How can I remove Album Art from the top of the screen (where it shows the song now playing) in iTunes 11?

Would like to remove the album art on itunes 11 at the top of the screen

Not a great solution, but you can completely remove the album art if you reduce the width of your itunes window.... as you reduce the window you get to a point where the artwork disappears.

  • Can't edit album art showing "where" "iCloud"

I just bought an iPad 3 and I have iTunes installed on my main PC.  I have it set to sync over the wifi and I have iTunes Match setup.  I'm also subscribed to yearly iCould.
Last night I noticed I was missing album art from several albums.  I had all the art setup through my laptop iTunes.  It took months to get it all sorted out.  I started filling in the gaps in the art last night when 2 strange things happened.
    1)  When I clicked to edit info the album art box was on the first page.  At the bottom there was a field labeled "where" and next to it "iCloud".
It would not allow me to upload any art to the art box.
    2) Next issue when I downloaded the song missing the art from iCloud (I figured I would edit it then upload it again) it downloaded with the art intact.
So my question is where the **** is the art and why is it not showing up unless I download it?  Yes, I realize this is anal but I must have all my art for all my music.  I totally freak when things aren't organized = )

I have found one ugly way to deal with the problem.
Remember how notes are actually mail messages underneath?
    To create a note:
    1. Create a new email message.
    2. Save it as a draft.
    3. Move the message to Notes folder.
To edit or delete an existing note:
    1. Move the note from Notes folder to Drafts folder.
    2. Do what you need
    3. If you want to keep the info - save it and move it back to Notes folder.
I wish Apple at least automated this process.

  • Where is the 'display album art on my iPod' option?

I only use my iPod in the car, so I don't exactly need album artwork on it. iTunes used to have an option to display (or not display) album art on the iPod. What happened to that option? My iPod is a classic, so it has a hard drive, and I'm getting tired of the constant disk access whenever it wants to display album artwork. I would prefer to get rid of it altogether.
I don't want to delete the artwork itself, because I also listen to music with my AppleTV at home. I just don't need the artwork *on my iPod*. How can I rig it so the iPod won't display the artwork anymore?

never mind, I found out that the option no longer exists:

  • Apple 160gb --- where is the album cover art???

Ok, I imported many songs from my CDs and when I went to the folder they were in, I saw the album cover. But for some reason, when these songs were transferred to the iPod, none of the album covers showed up. I did import the songs on iTunes.
I imported over 200 songs and the only album cover I see if for the ONE song I bought off iTunes. How can I fix this problem so that my album covers will show up. The box IS checked that asks me if I want to view album covers on my ipod.
I don't want to take the time to go through the 'cover flow' because I am uploading over 3000 songs.
    Thanks
