Where's my icloud?

I've finally switched all of my electronics to apple products. I have a MacBook Pro with a 2 terabyte remote HD. Both my wife and I have iphone 4s. We have two ipad 2s and also my mother-in-law has  a MacBook Pro. I'm trying find out what I need to do do get icloud on the macbooks so that file sharing (photos, music, etc.) will work. My system settings still show mobile me (whick I never activated). However it is my understanding that mobile me has been replaced by icloud. I have manually tried to update my software, and have sucessfully. However, it still shows I'm on the same OS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. One more thing. I was able to download all of my previously purchased music to my iphone from my itunes account so obviously that part is working. However, it all had to be done manually by clicking on the "icloud" button next to each song. It took over an hour for all of the songs to load. I thought I read that this was supposed to be an automatic process. At least there should be a way to get all of the songs without having to click on every single one. There are probably easy answers to all of my questions, I just cant seem to find them. Thanks.

When registering the phone, you should be able to choose later or basically not now at the upper right hand side. Most of what I think it will at least have you do is sign into your Apple ID but thats it.

  • Where are  previous icloud settings? - I just updated to 10.8.5

Where did my iCloud settings go with the update to 10.5.8?  Signed on to locate my iPad and my iCloud settings to find my stuff are gone!

Try resetting them in System Preferences/iCloud.

  • Where is the iCloud icon? I have a new ipad and although in settings I have the icon and have set music, mail etc to be stored on the cloud I do not have the icon on my home page or on the safari tool bar

Where is the iCloud icon ? I have the iCloud settings set to on for music, mail etc but the icon is not on my safari tool bar nor is the icon present on my home screen

There is no iCloud app or icon on your phone.  iCloud is enabled and configured in your settings, but you access your iCloud data through the apps you are syncing with iCloud.  iCloud contacts are accessed through the Contacts app on your phone, Mail through the Mail app, Reminders through the Reminders app, etc.
You can also access some of this data on icloud.com from a computer.  You can't, however, access icloud.com from your phone.

  • Where are my iCloud contacts stored on my computer?

I'd like to transfer all of my contacts from my Microsoft Outlook to my Google account!  Somehow, I had linked all my contacts in Outlook to iCloud.  Now I can no longer sync my contacts from OUtlook to my Google account and Android phone!  This is a mess!  Please help!

You can download your contacts as a combo vCard from icloud.com, then import that to Google contacts.  From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4910:
    iCloud.com Contacts
Go to iCloud Contacts at icloud.com/contacts, and sign in using your iCloud Apple ID and password.
Verify you are viewing All Contacts by looking at the top-left of the Contacts address book style interface. You should see All Contacts.
If you are not viewing All Contacts, click the groups ribbon to load the Groups interface.
Then, click All Contacts in the Group interface to load All Contacts.
Click the groups ribbon again to return to the standard Contacts interface.
Click the Action (gear) menu, and select Select All. Every Contact should be highlighted after doing this.
Click the Action (gear) menu, and select Export vCard.
A combo vCard will be created and begin downloading.
Safari on OS X will automatically download the combo vCard to your Downloads folder (~/Downloads).
Other web browsers, and Safari on Windows, will prompt you about where you wish to save the combo vCard. Choose a location, and save the combo vCard.
Note: If you make extensive use of Groups, you should also consider backing up your entire Address Book Database by creating an Address Book Backup (ABBU) file via the OS X Address Book application. You can find instructions for this in the OS X Lion section below. The standard vCard method of backing up, which creates a bulk vCard as described above, will not back up Groups. However, it does allow easy back up and recovery of Contacts. Address Book Archives are more complex, and in some cases, may not properly restore data for iCloud members while connected to the Internet. If you use Groups, you should create both types of backups. If you don't use Groups beyond the default All Contacts group, then vCards are the best method of backup.

  • Where is the iCloud Drive on iPhone?

I thought there was going to be some sort of iCould Drive viewer (like the one in the demo of IOS 8) on the iPhone and iPad, like I have for Dropbox.  If there isn't, why would I get rid of Dropbox?

I have Yosemite on my Macbook, it has a viewer for all files.   There must be an update coming for the iPhone after Yosemite goes GA because they advertise the fact that you can... "Store any file in iCloud Drive.  Then find it on any device. Welcome to your place in the cloud. With iCloud Drive in the Finder, you have a folder where you can store all types of files, organize them the way you like, and access them from all your devices." http://www.apple.com/osx/preview/apps/.
Hopefully that means viewer capability on phone, otherwise you couldn't organize or access text or PDFs.

  • Where is this icloud folder?

I was searching my computer for this PDF magazine I found the the magazine but not the right month. I figured the other month would be in the same folder as that one... I went to ‘open in enclosed folder’ But this file seemed to not have an enclosing folder all it said was iCloud. I have no idea i had an iCloud drive... Where is it and how do I edit it?

  • Where has the iCloud icon gone in the menu bar

When iCloud where in the trial stage they had a little cloud icon top right side in the menu bar to drag and drop files to. I recentlywanted to upload docs to iCloud and noticed it had gone. I never log into iCloud from the Internet, after reading the threads, it seems this is the only way to save files to the cloud now, am I wrong?

Are you sure you aren't confusing iCloud with iWork.com? In any event, there's no menu icon. To upload iWork documents, go to http://icloud.com and go to the iWork page, pick the appropriate of the three programs, and drag the file in the Finder to the web page.

  • Where are my iCloud Mails ?

I have updated to iOS5 yesterday, I have also setup iCloud on my iPhone where I had to create a @me.com email adress.
Since I had setup my iPhone as a new device I had to reenter all my passwords and stuff - so I have setu my "normal" mail account aswell.
Now, when I open the Mail App, I just have my "normal" mail account there - no sight of the @me.com mails. In the settings the "push" service is enabled, but when I send a test mail there is no notification.
when I login to icloud.com on another pc, I can read all mails without a problem.

It happens when mail is deleted, I have not met another method.
Do you not have a backup?

  • Where is my iCloud documents?

I did not find my documents in iCloud. Where all is lost???

The iCloud documents are in iCloud. When you sign in and enable Documents & Data in the iCloud preference pane, they should appear.

  • Where are my iCloud keychain passwords?

I've got a slight problem with iCloud keychain I'm hoping someone can assist with.
I recently filled out an online form to download some backup software. iCloud keychain generated an auto-password for me on the web form and all was good.
However, I then needed to sign into my account on the backup software app. Haven't got a clue what that iCloud keychain password was and am not too sure where to look next.
    THANKS

Don't worry, I found the answer here..

  • TS3989 where's my iCloud photo storage???

I upgraded to  the 50GB storage for my Windows Vista 64bit PC with SP2 expecting to be able to store my photo collection from my pc on there as in other clouds like Adobe's creative cloud. But there is no Photos folder on the icloud page where the other folders for iwork etc are from my ipad. And nothing either in iTunes. I followed all the instructions several times, checked all folder names etc. Images from my ipad photostream appear in the photostream folder. But nothing from my pc appears on the ipad.
There was no warning about any issues like this - have I wasted my money?? Or am I missing something? When I go to my account, only my ipad and ipod show up on there, not my pc?

    Try the following:
Go in "Settings" > "iCloud" > "Storage" > "Manage Storage".
Do you see anything under "Backups"? If you can find your device here, tap on it and see when the latest backup occurred. If you want to restore this backup, make sure that your iPhone is well charged and go in "Settings" > "General" > "Reset" > "Erase All Content and Settings". WARNING: This will erase everything you have on your new iPhone!! Once the iPhone restart, make sure that it isn't connected to a computer and connect to your WiFi ans instead of selecting "Use as a new iPhone" select "Restore from iCloud". It could take a while to restore if you had lots of stuff on your phone.
    Hope that helps!

  • Help- where are my iCloud pictures?

hi I'm about to cry. I had moved over 3000 pictures to my iCloud abd then deleted them off my phone to free up memory. Now as I look at my storage it says only 600 pictures are in my cloud. I fear that this is because it's in backup mode. How do I see/find these pictures? I can't even figure out where to view them.
I will be so devastated if I've lost this past year of life. Thank you

You can't see your photos in icloud.com.
