Where's my phone on my PC

Hi Guys.
I'm scratching my head over this one, I connect my 1020 to my PC, I get a tone from the PC to say the 1020 has connected to it, and I get a tone from the 1020 to show that it is charging from the PC, but the phone is not showing up in Control Panel.
It was in Control Panel earlier in the week as I added a ringtone to the phones ringtone folder, I actually want to add another one, but can't find the phone?
Any ideas?
Eddie.

You need to connect when unlocked (showing start screen). You will then find the phone as a 'storage device' under My PC/My Computer
You must be running Windows XP Sp3 with Windows Media Player 10 or better for this to work.

  • Where's the phone key pad

how to find  / where is the phone key pad with ios 7 all I get is face time no key pad

The delete key or backspace key is all that there is on a MacBook. It functions as a backward delete. If you want to use a forward delete, you need to hold down the fn (function) key in the bottom left of your keyboard and hit the delete or backspace key. For a more functional or normal approach for heavy writing, I might suggest an external keyboard with the forward delete key in place. -GDF

  • Where is open and where is my phone contact?

where is open and where is my phone contact? and where's open my icloud account?

You can make a backup of your current settings on a USB drive using ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery, I personally don't like it nor do I use it any longer, but this doesn't mean that the next person shouldn't give it a go.
As for recovery discs, you can buy them from lenovo or check with the marketplace of ThinkPads forum, maybe someone from UK might be able to hook you up with a set.
One time burning of recovery discs' limitation is from Microsoft, it's in the EULA.
    Hope this helps.

my I phone 4 is stolen in Vienna of Austria, unfortunately I have some very important photo inside the phone, would it be possible to use the IMEI no. to  check where is the phone now? or you can lock it / delete those information in the phone?
    rachel

"would it be possible to use the IMEI no. to  check where is the phone now?"
    No.
"you can lock it / delete those information in the phone?"
    No.
Apple can do nothing at all.
If you set up find my iphone and it is on and it has not been restored, then you may be able to track it or wipe it.
Otherwise there is nothing you can do but report it to the police and change your passwords.

  • Where is the phone location database?

Today's WSJ reported the following story (in part):
Two researchers have uncovered a secret file on iPhones that keeps a record of where the phone has been and when it was there — a file that is unencrypted and stored by default.  The security experts, Alasdair Allan and Pete Warden, created a program that lets you see just what your phone knows of your whereabouts — and it’s a creepy sight. There’s no evidence that the file is transferred to Apple, but the maps produced by the program show details stretching back months.
“Ever since iOS 4 arrived, your device has been storing a long list of locations and time stamps,” said Mr. Allan, a technology author, in a post on the website of technology publisher O’Reilly. He and Mr. Warden, a former Apple employee, are presenting their findings Wednesday at the Where 2.0 conference put on by the publisher. The Guardian newspaper also has reported on their discovery.
Where is this file maintained on the phone?  Can we access the file? Can we delete the file?  Has anyone written an app that periodically erases the database file?

only on jailbroken phones the app is called untrackerd it cant stop the phone collecting the data but everytime the phone writes to the data base untrackerd deletes it
My friend installed it and his consolidated.db file went from  7mb to 131kbs so it does work
the actual file is located on the phone here
    var/root/library/caches/locationd/consolidated.db

  • It's There a way to find out where my new phone is?

I ordered new phone, is there any way to track where it is? It shouldn't be here for another few days but just  wanted to see what state it is in. Thanks if anyone knows or doesn't.

You should have a confirmation email or text when the phone ships and should have a tracking number within.

  • Where is "Synchronize Phone Book" link?

The user manual states that you can Synchronize the Verizon 'Phone Book' and 'Calendar' with programs such as Outlook.
It states: Go to FIOS Digital Voice Account Manager and Click "Synchronize Phone Book” link  in "Phone Book" and Click "Synchronize Calendar” link  in "Calendar" to download the "Synchronization Wizard".
There are NO links in either "Phone Book"  nor "Calendar" sections of the Account Manager.  I also did a search in Verizon for the "Synchronization Wizard" and came up empty.
Anyone know why these links are missing from Digital Voice Account Manager and/or where can I download the tool needed for the synchronization.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I spent several hours today fighting with this issue.  Forget the Synching issue - even what is available on the website (a "SIMPLE" import of csv format file) is TOTAL garbage!
I am NOT a happy new FIOS user.
2 things were misrepresented to me:
    (1) I was told VERY specifically that I could set up speed dials from the web site  - who wants to spend hours punchingin 100 or more speed dial numbers (1 was told the service provided 200) via a keypad on the phone - UTTERLY RIDICULOUS and required due to the stupid need to dial 10 digits for every call -  NOT AVAILABLE - LIE #1
    (2) No matter what I tried I could not get all the fields to import from the csv file generated by OUTLOOK into the Vz FIOS phone book.  Level 2 support couldn't solve it either. This entire function of moving contact info into the Vz website is a load of steaming stuff that also doesn' t work as advertised. DOES NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED INTHE USER GUID AND ON THE WEBSITE AVAILABLE - LIE #2
Tomorrow I will begin the formal process of reverting to copper and DSL.  This sort of bogus enticement of people to change over to FIOS in order to benefit Verizon (I had no reason to leave DSL other than getting letters every week or so and knowing full well that eventually Verizon would force the switch anyway) is extremely poor business practice and I will be filing a complaint with the PUC.

  • Where to "store" phone when using sportstracker?

    Hi all,
I'm interested as to where people "store" their phones when running sportstracker? When I'm in my car, I have a holder so that's no problem, but I feel a tad foolish when I'm out walking and holding the phone out in front of me recording my track Interested as to where others keep their phones...
    Cheers

    Hi Guys,
I am from the team that has worked with Nokia and developed a site to track James Cracknell’s Sports Relief Challenge from Dover to Morocco.
James has been using the N82 GPS function linked up to an application called ‘Sports Tracker’ that has been sending us a signal showing exactly where he has been going on his bike through France and Spain. For the last six days, James’ supporters have been able to follow his progress via www.challengecracknell.com
This function can be used on Nokia N series and is particularly useful to cyclists, walkers, runners etc to allow them to track their routes and collect their stats – i.e. distance run, time taken etc. The stats can also be uploaded and compared on http://sportstracker.nokia.com/nts/main/index.do.
Check out James’ site at www.challengecracknell.com to see exactly how the function works.
If anyone has any feedback or suggestions on both the site and the sport tracker application, I’d really appreciate it.
    Cheers,
    Natalie.

  • Where is the phone iPhone attenna?

I would like to know because it seems the signal is very inconsistent when I'm holding it in my hand. I'm thinking its because my hand is covering the attenna. Can someone please tell me exactly where the attenna is on the phone so that I'll be careful not to cover it while holding the phone? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

You asked a very good question, and you're right that it can have an effect.
All the antennae (GSM, WiFi, BT) are under the black piece at the bottom.

  • I was able to print wirelessly from my 4S phone but now I can't. Where on my phone can I check its printing cababilities?

I can print sometimes from the HP 1100 printer but then I can't. The printer is printing the macbook documents wirelessly so it must be my phone. I can't find any information on my phone about its connectivity to printers.

Can be a bit convoluted as the phone doesn't actually have any drivers in the tradtional sense.
What it does is locates WiFi printers on the same network and connects over an adhoc connection.
The pint job is sent as an e-mail over the Wifi connection and the printer converts that e-mail PDF and sends that as a local print.
The point of break down is usually the Wifi connection and it may be necessary to reboot the printer to gain a stable link.
Also make sure your phone is actually connected to the Wifi network and not just the mobile network !
There are other print solutions you might want to try however these need a Mac/PC host machine.
On the Mac Pintopia adds the ability to print via the host to just about any USB connected printer and is imo more stable than airprint.the host must be running for this to work.
You can also try an app called We Print server that works on PC and Mac hosts and allows printing via the 3G network as well as local Wifi. Its very useful.
Finally you can make some adjustments and view the print job on the iOS device by starting a print then double clicking on the home button in the task bar you will see a new icon called Print Center where you can make minor adjustments and even cancel the job if you want,

  • Help me find where is my phone cuz i think someone stole my phone

someone stole my phone n help me find where is then let me know

If you activated Find My iPhone on your phone, you can log into icloud.com with your AppleID and, if the phone is still powered on and connected to a network, you should be able to locate it.
    Best of luck.

  • Where is my phone number shown on phone?

I think I'm cracking up!  Where do you see your own phone number on a Vodafone UK handset?
When I was on Orange, I'm sure it could be found in Settings>General>About, but not now.  I also seem to recall it showed up on the top bar in Contacts, but again, not now.

Or if you scroll to the top of your contact list in the Phone menu it is at the top of that....

  • HT201269 i changed my apple id and now i cant change it on my 4S how can i turn off where is my phone

I have changed my apple id and did so before reading the instructions, so i didnt turn off the services most importantly where is my i-phone now i cant change my id on my phone.

    Hey Jendstewart,
That is correct, you will want to sign out of your Apple ID everywhere first before changing it. To get passed this, you will need to change it back to your original one, it will not ask to verify, then sign out. Once you got that taken care of, you can change it back to the new Apple ID that you want to use.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
