Where's Safari 7.0's History?

I just updated to Mavericks with Safari 7.0. It's not in Bookmarks anymore.  Where was the history menu moved to?

Safari History Location - where does Safari store its history? (unfortunately I deleted it when running CCleaner...) Now I would like to restore it via Time Machine

    Hi..
If you deleted your Safari history, you may not be able to restore using TM but give this a try...
    Go to    ~/Library/Safari
    Look for the History.plist file.
Best to not use third party utlities such as CCleaner. They tend to do more harm than good.

  • Where does Safari store the full list of sites visited?

I have just started using Safari on my computer and noticed that it pulls down an immense list of site suggestions as soon as I start typing an URL. On closer inspection, these are all sites that I have visited in the past, with other browsers (IE and Mozilla/ Firefox).
Where did Safari go to get this information?
I usually set my browsers to auto erase of history, cookies, etc., so I wasn't aware that these records were being stored in my computer - and I sure would like to know where exactly.
Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to shed some light on this.

    Hi
I think the autofill information comes from your bookmarks (if you have cleared the history)

  • Where in Safari can I set applications?

Where in Safari can I set an application other than mail to use the mailto command?
In Firefox this is done in Preferences > Applications tab , scroll down t the mailto and change the application asigned to that function from Mail to Gmail causing mailto links on webpages to open gmail in a browser rather than using the Mail app.
I cannot find anything similar in Safari.

I don't want to change it system wide.
I only want to change it for Safari and I only want the change to apply to mailto links not other functions.
Sounds like Apple needs to work on the functionality a bit. I will submit a feature request through the form.

  • I lost the top toolbar that has Safari-File-Edit-View-History-Bookmarks-Window-Help

I lost the top toolbar that has apple-safari file-edit-view-history-bookmarks-window help
    How do I restore it?

    View webpages in full screen
In many applications on the Mac, including Safari, you can expand the window to fill your entire screen. You can make a webpage full-screen with one click, and switch to another webpage (or full-screen window in another application) with a swipe of the trackpad.
IMPORTANT:Viewing in full screen, and the Mission Control feature, are available only if you have Mac OS X v10.7 Lion or later. For information on upgrading Mac OS X, go to the Mac OS X website.
    OS X website
To enlarge a webpage so it uses the screen, click the arrows in the top-right corner of an application window:
To move from one window to another in full screen view, swipe left and right, or press the arrow keys on your keyboard.
To return to standard view, click the arrows in the window’s upper-right corner:
If you prefer viewing webpages in full screen, Mission Control lets you see everything running on your Mac, including your full screen windows. Mission Control presents your full screen windows as thumbnail images, making it easy for you to move from one to another.

  • Safari still creating website history with Private browsing on

Since downloading Lion I have noticed that despite having Private Browsing on Safari regulalry records a history of web sites visited. It doesn't do it all the time but I now have no confidence in this faciltiy. Has anyone else had the same problem?

This issue appears to be effecting Safari 5.1 in general, as I see this behavior both under Mac OS X 10.6.8 and OS X Lion 10.7. Still hoping to find a resolution, but I may suggest using "Report bugs to Apple..." under the Safari menu to ensure they are aware of this issue in the meantime.

    Hi kalika67,
I'd love to help, but am not quite sure what you're asking. What do you want to find search history for? Are you using one of the Acrobat products or services?

  • Where can I find android version history on desktop version?

    Hi!
Thank you for your great effort to bring the Firefox Sync.
On my Firefox for Desktop (v30.0), I cannot find the browsing history of my Android device, which is running the Firefox for Android (v30.0).
On the other hand, I can find the browsing history of Firefox for Desktop on my Firefox for Android.
Please kindly show me where I can find the Android history on Desktop.
Or you can implement this feature.
    Thanks a lot.

Type the '''about:sync-tabs''' in URL and you can see the History of another SYNCed Device

  • Where is safari?  it does not show up in my tool bar?

where is safari?  when I downloaded Mavericks it disappeared from my tool bar.

    Hi steve0393,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
I think you are asking about Safari not showing up on the Dock in Mavericks?
If that is the case, you can drag Safari from the Applications folder to the Dock.

  • Where is Safari 7 History Stored in Mavericks

I could not find this in the discussions.
Is safari 7 History stored in an external file in Mavericks?  If so, what is the file name and where is it located?

    I must be missing something.
I went to Macintosh HD, clicked on Users, then clicked on my User, then held the option key and no Library folder showed up.
I also tried holding the option key and then clicking on my User and got the same result.

  • Safari drops drudge from history?

OK, I know Apple is run by a bunch of liberals, but this seems a little odd even knowing that.  In fact, I wasn't convinced it wasn't me doing something until I ran a few tests.  I regularly visit DrudgeReport for news and usually just keep a tab open to the site.  I noticed awhile back that occasionally when I tried to go back (to Drudge)  from a linked story I wasn't able to.  In fact, there was no indication of Drudge in my history.  Nothing.  Nada.  The problem was more difficult to see because it was intermittent.
So this afternoon I opened a new page and typed "drudge" into the seach box - that got me a results page that had Drudge at the top.  Here's where it gets interesting.  I clicked on the Drudge link and got the expected home page.  I then clicked on a couple of links for stories of interest, always going back to the Drudge home page.  Then I went to another story link, but this time when I hit the back arrow Safari bypassed the Drudge home page and went all the way back to the search results page.  Checking my history for the day and there was no indication I had ever visited Drudge.  (again)
What's up with this?  And fwiw - I never had this happen with Firefox.

Might be a cookie and cache issue ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click Details then type drudge in the search field top right corner of that window then click: Remove All
    Now delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, back to Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Safari/History.plist
Click Go then move the History.plist file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • My first generation iPad suddenly stopped opening Safari.  I cleared history, cookies, and cache, and Safari still won't open.  Any suggestions?

When I attempt to open a Safari window on my first-generation iPad, it opens to a blank screen.  I can see the web address bar and the search box, but the rest of the page is white.  I cleared cookies, history, and cache, but still nothing happens.  The iPad is 3G, and I have tried to open Safari using both 3G and my home WiFi.  My wife has an iPad 3 WiFi, and hers opens without issue.  Any suggestions on what I might do?  Thanks!

    1. Double-click the Home button to close all Inactive Apps in Task Bar
    2. Hold the Apps in Task Bar down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
    3. Tap the minus sign to close Apps
    4. Tap center of screen to return to Home Screen
    5. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

  • Where are Safari 1.x bookmarks, I need to backup bad system in FW Disk Mode

My friend has a PowerBook G4 with a pretty corrupt OS 10.3 on it. I'm praying I'll be able to get it started in FireWire Target Disk Mode so I can backup files, then I'll re-install the OS.
Where would I find Safari 1.x bookmarks? Can I just copy a file to backup the bookmarks and possibly later restore them?
(I'm a tech-y person so feel free to give me complicated instructions, I'll probably understand them)

    Hi Jason,
You can find the Bookmarks in the following location.
    Home_Folder>Library>Safari Folder>Bookmarks.plist
You can put it on a USB stick or when it is still possible to sent the file in a folder to a e-mail address, for instance your e-mail. Later when everything is working well again you can sent it back to your friend an swap the Bookmarks.plist file with the one that is in the NEW installed system.
    Good luck ...
    Dimaxum
