Where's Siri on my 5s?

I've enabled Siri in Settings but can't seem to locate the app.

After switching Siri on in settings hold down the home button for a few seconds.

  • I Downloaded IOS 6 To My IPad 2 Where is Siri and Passbook?

I m so upset where is Siri and passbook do i get it ? I just downloaded IOs 6 I should get it right I need it.

Siri is only available on the new iPad and Passbook is only available on the iPhone and the iPod Touch.
It would be quite cumbersome lugging the iPad around in order to use Passbook and I assume that is why it is not available on the iPad. It just doesn't make sense on a tablet.
iOS 6 features and capabilities vary between devices, with some features available only with certain devices and models.

  • Where is siri in i phone 4, i upgrade ios 7

Where is siri in i phone 4 ... I upgrade ios 7 .. Siri is compatible for i phone 4

Siri has never been available for the iPhone 4, & upgrading to iOS 7.0 will not change that.

  • Where is Siri on my iPhone

Where is Siri on I phone

To acess Siri, hold down the home button.  If this does not pull Siri up, make sure it is turned on in your settings. (settings>general>siri)

  • Where is Siri on my iphone 4S???

OK,  I go to Settings>General> ....and then there is no tag for Siri. Where it should be, I have "Spotlight Search"
    Is it somewhere else?
    Thanks in advance,
    Braden

If you have a 4s Siri came built in from the time you bought it and was always under Settings > General > Siri

  • Where does Siri get location info?  How can I get listed?

I work at a local church and when I ask Siri about visiting the closest church Siri is way off.  It tells me the closest church is 17 miles away, when there is one next door to my house and a dozen others closer to me.  Any idea what is going on?

Siri gets this info from Google Maps.  Contact Google.

  • IOS 5 install is missing my apps and Siri. Where is Siri? and why wont iCloud work?

iOS 5 install installed but not all the way. Here's a list of issues so far:
    My apps are all gone
The "Siri" app...which is 50% of the reason anyone would want to upgrade wasn't included in the install. How do I get Siri on my iPhone 4???
iCloud fails to activate...does this have an icon too? if so I don't have it.
Why only a partial install? I mean, I understand the servers were busy...but if it takes its slow time to complete...why still miss these features?
I should have started with my iPad2...but after all this crap...I wont give that one an upgrade for another month.  I'll wait until everything is all sorted out.

    1. Your apps will go off the phone because it is putting a clean install of the software on.  You will be able to sync them back over after along with music etc.
    2. Siri is only available on iPhone 4S.
    3. Siri is only available on iPhone 4S.
    4. iCloud is located in Settings, you will also have to activate it on your other iDevices using the same apple ID to connect them together.

  • How can I get the most out of Siri?

I searched for a Discussion where folks shared ways they have discovered to get Siri to provide information and functionalities of value.  Maybe such a discussion is out there, but I couldn't find it...at least not at the level I wanted and not in the Apple Support Community.  I apologize if I missed it.  Just let me know.
Here is what prompted this.  Our family was traveling up the east coast recently.  A lot of interstate driving.  A lot of "Dad, I have to go to the bathroom...BAD!"  I thought I had the solution to these emergencies with my iPhone 4S and Siri.
Question Attempt 1:  "Siri, where is the next Rest Stop?"
Answer:  "I don't know.  Good luck."  (Or, something like that.)
Question Attempt 2:  "Siri, where is the next Service Area?"
Answer:  "I still don't know."  (Or, something like that.)
Question Attempt 3:  "Siri, where is the next Service Area on the New Jersey Turnpike?"
Answer:  "If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times, I have no clue."  (Or, something like that.)
Question Attempt 4:  "Siri, where is the nearest Burger King restaurant?"  (I knew all the Service Areas on the NJ Turnpike had Burger King Restaurants.  I thought this was a clever way to get Siri to spill the beans.)
Answer:  "Here is a list of the nearest Burger King restaurants."  (Siri provided a list of Burger Kings.  All required getting off the interstate.  None were closer than 15 miles away.  None were located in Service/Rest Areas.)
I mile later, we passed a Rest Stop on the NJ Turnpike!  It even had a Burger King.  OMG!  Was Siri on drugs or something?
So, that's an example where either Siri's functionality clearly was lacking, or I simply did not know the way to ask the question to get the information I needed.  That's what I'm hoping this discussion will provide.  Ways to get Siri to do the things it can do, and provide information it can provide.
BTW, we tried this Rest Stop game from North Carolina to New York on several interstates.  Struck out everytime.
On the other hand, if a plane flew overhead we had no trouble getting Siri to tell us what flight it was.  "Wolfram Alpha, what plane is flying overhead right now?"  Worked every time.  Go figure.

    Dear fromsouth,
Oh dear...I had no intention of being disrespectful.  However, as I look back at my language used in responding to you, I now see how you could have interpreted things that way .  I am a physicist and have not taken a course in writing since a junior in high school.  Let me say I am well beyond high school age at this point.  That lack of writing skill can haunt me, as it has done here.
So, before I say anything, please forgive my choice of language in responding to you.  I DO appreciate very much folks who respond to questions I ask on this forum.  It takes time and thought.  Those are gifts.  Thank you very much, SINCERELY, for taking the time and thought to respond to my question.
I too do not know how Siri works.  I was throwing out well intentioned, but poorly worded, questions and hypothesis in response to your post.  You are right, 10 seconds is not a lot of time.  We can only guess at what magic Siri is performing during that 10 seconds.
Moving back to the beginnings of things, I still think that there may be ways to word questions to Siri to squeeze answers out of her that would normally produce, "I do not know" responses.
For example, as I mentioned above, I read elsewhere that if you ask Siri, "Wolfram Alpha, what plane is flying overhead?" you can get Siri to tell you the airline, flight number, altitude, etc. of that plane.  Who would have guessed that!?  (Even though Wolfram Alpha is quite a "smart" fellow himself. :-))
You ABSOLUTELY did not waste my time.  Your post made me think.  I appreciate that.
My Bad.  Please accept my apologies and have a Wonderful Holiday season.
    Mr. Luigi

  • How to ask Siri for directions to my next appointment?

This is making me crazy, and I'm sure I'm just missing something simple: I have an item on my calendar, including the location. I ask: Siri, please give me directions to my next appointment.  Siri brings up the appointment - but nothing else. I then ask: Siri, how do I get there? "Get where?", she responds.
I've tried a number of different questions to get Siri to give me directions to a scheduled event, but none have worked. (And, I do know that I don't need to say "Siri" or "please", but it's fun!)
What do I need to ask Siri to get her to pull up either driving or transit directions to my next (or any) appointment/event on my calendar?

Yes this is very frustrating.  But mores, because this is such an obvious natural usage of Siri when driving, and easily enough to extract the address from the appointment knowing the context of the question.   I'm usually pretty defensive of the aggressive questioning of missing Apple features, but this one should be a no-brainer.  And yet it doesn't work.  And I need it almost every day.
It seems that the last couple years Siri gets "dumber".  I don't casually write that.  I'm a fan of my iPhone, but more and more I keep reverting to the Google app and it's voice search instead of Siri because IT JUST WORKS so much better.    Except, the google app can interact with the other on-phone apps or data, like your calendar, etc.  So we're stuck with Siri, HOPING that it will improve, yet seems to regress in functionality every year.   (first it was the removal of WolfframAlpha knowledge base for answering datapoint questions, where now Siri just returns a webpage or wiki, not the answer..)

  • [BUG] iOS 6 - BATTERY DRAIN : SIRI Raise to Speak/Proximity Sensor Always On/Flashing When Screen Active

Bug: Raise to Speak sensor for Siri remains on whenever the screen is active - regardless of Siri Raise to Speak Setting (enabled or disabled).
After updating to iOS 6 (via iTunes - not OTA), I noticed that my battery was taking quite a bit of a hit.  Granted I was checking out the new features but aside from a very short call, nothing major in the way of activity.
I had also noticed that Siri sounded quite a bit different with iOS 6 (10A403) than with 5.1.1 (9B206).  Not only did the Siri Voice change but also the responses vary between the two iOS versions.
Example: What is the weather like in Alaska?
    iOS 5.1.1 response:
Here's the forecast for Juneau, Alaska through Monday
    iOS 6.0 response:
Here's the weather for Juneau, AK through Monday (note: Siri does not say "Alaska", instead Siri says 'A-Kay'
With iOS 6, Siri sounds more robotic.  After looking at speech rate settings and comparing between the two versions, I could find nothing different.  I decided to post a video and this is where the Siri bug became interesting and tied into the battery drain with iOS 6.
Remember with 5.0.1 we saw a hit on battery drain and one of the fixes was a fix to the proximity sensor (http://hottipscentral.com/could-siri-be-hurting-iphone-4s-battery-this-little-li ght-might-mean-something/).  Well, it appears this bug is back in iOS 6.  When I went to do the video, I noticed that my 4s had a flashing light near the earpiece.  It remained on continuously.  The only time it would stop flashing was when the phone was locked and the screen inactive.  As soon as I hit the lock button to bring the phone out of lock, the sensor would begin to flash again.
Give it a shot, hold up your iPhone to a webcam and see if your result is the same.
Submitting this to Apple via the feedback form.  Please do the same if you are seeing the same behavior.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

I dont believe so Amy.  Phone has not sustained any damaging drops nor any liquid spills.  Was not an issue before but I figured I'd post as I believe this is a definite bug.  I neglected to mention that I have my wife's 4s (5.0.1 build) which I am using as a comparison.
Based on the issues folks are reporting with the ambient light sensor, its either the proximity or the ambient light sensor causing the drain.  I've turned auto brightness AND raise to speak both off and the sensor continues to flash as I described in my opening post.
If others can confirm, this will definitely need to be looked at by Apple and fixed.
I just found this - same behavior (posted 7/24/2012 on another forum - source link below).
Hi folks, remember the proximity sensor (always on bug) I reported here in iOS 6 Beta 1 bugs/feedback thread? It continues to happen in beta 3, I reported to Apple and the answer I got from them is that it behaves how it's intended to do
Thing is, when you turn Raise To Speak feature off, and use your webcam (no IR filter) to verify if it turned infrared proximity sensor off, results that it didn't. Since iOS 5 this bug has been present, power cycling, or doing a soft reset solves this issue but this solution does not apply in iOS 6. Don't have an idea on how hard it is on battery draining, but it makes no sense that this sensor stays on forever even when you turn this feature off. Unless it has to do with constantly display brightness adjust feature that we have noticed came with iOS 6 version. Doing some test of this feature (some of you commented about a brightness bug in earlier posts) I noticed that ambient light variations make that display brightness adjust accordingly to brighter or darker ambiences. Previous to iOS 6, the sensor samples the ambient light, and adjusts the brightness; it does this only once--each time you unlock the phone after waking it. Now in iOS 6 you can easily watch how brightness slider adjusts itself when display senses light variations. If you open Passbook app it raises brightness to full (it is supposed to act this way for easy reading of barcodes) but getting out of Passbook app makes that brightness readjusts itself responding to actual ambient light intensity (this adjusting task occurs slowly until brightness slider stops to right level).
I've checked and ambient light sensor and proximity sensor are separate and work differently but if Apple says that an always on proximity sensor in this iOS version is behaving how it is intended to do; all that I could think of is that it has to do with ambient light "sensing"??

I sent it in to my carrier for repairs, all they did was opened it I got it back and some accessibility setting where off Siri was off and then I saw this  https://twitter.com/n0t_s0sl1mshadi/status/432170638913310720 how to get them back. Already rebooted

I restored it before I gave it into them, and they didn't even restore it themselves. So I had the same restoral. The day I gave it I changed it to the default wallpaper. I get it back and I can't see the wallpaper
