Where's the default location of multicam clip creation

This is silly but where does the multi cam clip goes whenever I create them? I have a fairly large project (8 years compilation) with about 1500 folders on a 96 Tb RAID array and whenever I create multicam, it's no where to be found. Is there a way to sort them out by type?

It took about 8-10 min to load it up. It gradually gets worse as the project complexity increases with more in/out, color graded previews, compound clip with subtitling plug ins, etc. Today will have no choice but break it up to smaller part.
Before multicam, it was only about 1.2 Gb. But whenever I add more multicam (about 3 hours from 6 cams all with AVC-I 100 codec), it grew to about 1 Gb more to about 2.2 Gb. There's no way I would want a 10 Gb+ library with the rate I'm going. I have about a dozen more multicam sequences from the 8 years of the doc. So have to chunk it to per year so that the library size is more manageable. Doing non-native media (rewrapped in FCP 7.0.3 from MXF-MOV) helps tremendously to decrease the library file size. For example, if I import native AVC-I 100 P2 files, the size instantly increases to 600 Gb for about 2.1 Tb worth of P2 media. For those who're doing all 4K workflow - I can only imagine the gigantic expense if this was all shot natively raw at 4K. It's just not practical yet until there's a single 12 Tb SATA-4 hdd. Now the largest single hdd is 6 Tb. Perhaps another 5 years for a it to be doubled from 2014. I've seen this trend since 2003.

  • Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

Depends on what variant of the product you are using.
In an Oracle Applicaiton Server environment (ie the one you install versus unzip) the stdout/stderr streams from OC4J are captured in the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/<group-instance> directory.
If you are using standalone then stdout goes to the console where you started the process.
The logs for the OC4J instance itself are located in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/log/<instance_group> directory. In this directory you'll see different logs for differet areas of the server. Most of the logs however are captured in the oc4j sub-directory in the log.xml file. Whenever you enable an OC4J component logger in the j2ee-logging.xml file or via ASControl, this is where the logs will end up.
Take a look at the $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/j2ee-logging.xml file -- the log handlers will give you some idea on the different log files that are in use.
You can configure your application loggers to also direct their log into this file if you wish. See http://buttso.blogspot.com/2007/09/directing-log-messages-into-oc4j.html for an example.

  • Where is the default location for the AppleWorks updater 6.2.9?

§When I try to install the 6.2.9 updater I get the message 'The default location could not be located'

An error message when running the updater is usually due to the wrong updater for your installed version of AppleWorks or not already having AppleWorks 6 installed. If you don't already have AppleWorks 6, you'll have to buy it.
If you live in the US or Canada, click one of the two "Download" buttons on the AppleWorks 6.2.9 updater page. If you live anywhere else in the English-speaking world (UK, Australia, etc.), pick International English. In either case, if one doesn't work, download & install the other.

  • Where is the default hard drive location for an ipod backup?

Where is the default location on a Window hard drive for iPod backups?
    Thanks!

Where are iTunes backups stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data is stored depends on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press Return.

  • Changing the Default Location for Backups

I've just downloaded PC Suite 6.81.13.0. How do I change the default location where backups are stored on my laptop? The default location stores the data in an location that is not compatible with my company network profile. I want to store the data in a different location, but I can't see any option to allow me specificy the location.

You have to re-index your Library by dragging/dropping the main Library folder into the Loop browser.

  • Changing the default location PowerPoint uses for templates

I do not want to use the default location MS Office initially configures for templates that is buried in some obscure folder on a local machine in that only Office know about.  Instead want to keep my templates in the same location on a company server
with the rest of my materials so I can access it from my company laptop or from the Virtual machines I am forced to use in other company locations. This way I will have my templates everywhere I work.  When I make changes they are available to me everywhere
I work and are not buried in a folder on a laptop or a virtual machine in a conference room half a world away.
MS Word allows users to configure this default location for templates but no where in PowerPoint can I find any way to configure this location. Previously on my laptop I have been able to configure the default PowerPoint template location, I believe, by
setting the location in MS Word; however, this is not happening for me now on the virtual machines I am using when away.  I have scoured the Options settings and if it is there it is well hidden.
To make matters worse I am trying to use what PPT is providing to me while I sort this out and when you try to open "My Templates": there is a message that says:
"To add a template to My templates, click the File tab, click Save As, click Trusted Templates, and then save the file as a template."
Of course when I follow these instructions there is no folder named Trusted Templates on the left side of the dialog box.  I am not sure why it is so difficult to allow us to configure this ourselves for each program but apparently it is.

    Hi,
Please refer to this kb below:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924460/en-us
As mentioned, if you use Word 2007 or Word 2010 to change the location in which your new templates are saved, you also change the location in which all 2007 Office program templates or all 2010 Office program templates are saved.
Office programs use one registry key to record the user templates file location, you can browse to the following path to check if it's recorded:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General
The user templates location is stored in the
    UserTemplates
    string value.
If it doesn't exist, try to manually add it, check if this helps. Detailed information can also be found in the kb introduced above.
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps
carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/en-us

  • I just upgraded my mac book to 10.6.8 and downloaded the new version of itunes. When I try to open it and error message appears saying, "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder.

I just upgraded my mac book to 10.6.8 and downloaded the new version of itunes. When I try to open it and error message appears saying, "The iTunes Library file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder."
I have tried a few things but iTunes closes right after i click okay. Anyone know anything?

Look in your Home > Music folder.  There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl  You want to guide iTunes to that file.  If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

  • I need help every time my iTunes library updates i get this error messege: The iTunes.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder. but the file should be there.

Every time I have to upgrade iTunes it gives me this messege:'The default location for this file is in the "iTunes" folder in the "Music" folder.' the file should be there but I don't understand why it does this every time Apple upgrades the Itunes library. Its on the computer somewhere but it only affects this login on my computer (meaning on this Windows Account). Why does my iTunes do this? Then I have to spend hours placing all my libraries back together and all my music back into the library. Which usually takes me a few days to sort all out. What is wrong with my iTunes? The iTunes folder is a folder in my Music folder where I store the iTunes music/files/libraries at on my computer so I can have all of the iTunes files in one place on my computer.

I have a Windows 7 operating system my computer runs from.

  • How can I change the default location ipad/iphone pictures are stored in on my desktop?

So here's my dilemma.  I have lightroom mobile on my ipad and iphone.  Seamlessly, lightroom mobile pushes these images to my desktop and saves them in a folder in windows.  I use an SSD and would prefer not doing read/writes to it that are unnecessary.  What makes the default location problematic is that I can't seem to change it.  Further, when I sync my ipad/iphone to my windows desktop using a cable, I will now have duplicates of images that were synced via lightroom mobile.  So, it would be infinitely simpler, I think, if lightroom mobile would sync ipad/iphone images to a directory I specify, on a supplemental hard drive for instance, and using dates for folder names rather than some default directory on my main drive where they are just dumped.

Currently, Lightroom saves the images in a directory structure under a folder named "Mobile Downloads.lrdata", which is created in the same folder as the catalog file.
For example, an image will be saved as:
    Windows = C:\Users\<username>\Pictures\Lightroom\Mobile Downloads.lrdata\<random hexadecimal name>\picture1.jpg
    Mac = Users/<username>/Pictures/Lightroom/Mobile Downloads.lrdata/<random hexadecimal name>/picture1.jpg
you want to change the location of this "Mobile Downloads.lrdata" to another path.
You should file an Idea, AKA Feature Request, to the Feedback site:
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family
If there is enough people voting for it, the Product Managers will evaluate it and eventually apply it to a future version.
It's your interest to advertise the Idea in order to increase the number of votes (I would vote for it).
There is another similar discussion in the forum (How do i change the location of 'Mobile Downloads.lrdata' ?), I am posting the same answer there.

  • Where is the default DnD cursor?

Does anyone know the class name of the default DnD cursor (or how to get it from a factory)?
It doesn't appear to be associated with any of the awt.Cursor contants (awt.Cursor.MOVE_CURSOR, awt.Cursor.CROSS_HAIR_CURSOR, etc.).
I'd like to use it in an app that explicitly sets the cursor. (I imagine that it' somewhere in javax.swing.plaf.*, but I haven't been able to find it.)
    Thanks,
    bw

Be sure in Folder Options, your view settings do not hide file extensions, so you'll know a PST when you see it.  The default path actually depends on 3 things: OS version, Outlook version, whether the installer
or subsequent administrator changed the defaults.  It will be in one of these three places, where %username% is obviously the name of the user in question, and everything is on drive letter C:
    1)  XP and older:  C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
    2)  Vista & Windows 7:  C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files
    3)  Vista & Windows 7:  C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
This Microsoft document elaborates on more than Outlook 2010, including the information above, and the easist way to find the default location:

  • How can I stream files from the Default location (the streams folder)?

According to flashmediaserver_3.5_config_admin.pdf (FMS 3.5.3), FMS determines the correct directory to use for streams in the following order:
Virtual directory (as specified in <VirtualDirectory>)
Storage directory (as specified in <storageDir>)
Default location (the streams folder in the application directory)
So I created a folder called streams in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vod.  I thought this folder would be the default location for the sample application vod.  I did not change any configuration settings for the application vod.  Everything was set by the FMS 3.5.3 installer.
I copied  sample.flv into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vod\streams and renamed it to sample6.flv.  rtmp://{fms ip}/vod/sample6.flv did not play in the sample video player installed by FMS 3.5.3.
Is this a bug or the default location "streams" folder is simply not  "default", you have to set it somewhere in XML?

Thanks for your reply!  I am weihua10.  I could not login into the
account  that has the screen id weihua10 today.  I have to create another account with  screen id weihua30.
Based on the configuration xml files (application.xml inside the vod folder), I can see C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vod\media is the Virtual Directory "/".  Yes, files put inside the media folder will play.  My question is where there is a default folder "streams".  Based on the document, it seems there is one beside virtual directories and storage directory.  But I could not find any.

  • Changing the default location of MPN Navigator EX saved files

    Friends
I am writing this on behalf of my brother who owns a Canoscan 9000 f and struggles with the following issue.
When he scans and saves his scanned image the Navigator EX does always want to save in the default location which is something like C: Users/admin/pictures/Navigator EX/
But he does not use that location, but would like for it to remember the last location he used. Or at least use one that is closer to the ones he usually uses. He says that having to manually choose the correct path every time is both time consuming and irritating.
Any way to change that behavior?
I think he is running Win 7 64 bit.
    Thanks
    Calle

I run a Mac lab at a high school. I, too, would like to be able to change iMovie's default save location from a user's Movies folder in their network Home folder to a folder on a workstation's local drive.
The only answer I've found is to train users to change the save location of their new project BEFORE beginning work on it. This necessitates clicking on the black triangle beside the Save As file window so that other save locations besides the network Movies folder (such as the local drive) appear. This is by no means an intuitive operation for most users. iMovie was clearly designed without a networked lab in mind.
I also train teachers using the Mac lab to inspect their students' network Movies folders, which should be EMPTY at all times--otherwise the lab grinds to a halt.
