Where's the import button on iPhoto?

Just had a talk with an Epson guy who advised that we could get rid of color banding by printing out of iPhoto instead of Photoshop.
But in order to do that I need to import from Photoshop. The Epson guy said there is an import function on iPhoto, but I can't find it. Can anyone offer a clue?

Where are your images stored now?
Do you have a working iPhoto Library, or have you not even used iPhoto yet?
If the images are not in iPhoto, then all you have to do is drag them into an open iPhoto Library window to import them. The actual command in the menu bar is "add to library"
You can have all your images in the library and also use PhotoShop as the external editor. This is set up in iPhoto Preferences. Once PS is set up, when images are double clicked they open in PS for your editing. Once you are done, the images have to be saved as flattened and with the same name. The edits will then be reflected in the library and you can then print the images.

Shuffle or repeat songs
Do any of the following:
Turn shuffle on or off: Click the Shuffle button
Shuffle is on when the arrows are blue.
Shuffle albums or groupings: Choose Controls > Shuffle > Albums (or Groupings). iTunes plays the songs in the order in which they appear on the album or in the grouping, and then chooses another album or grouping at random.
Repeat all songs in the current view (for example, a playlist): Choose Controls > Repeat > All.
Repeat the currently playing song: Choose Controls > Repeat > One.
Turn repeat off: Choose Controls > Repeat > Off.

Where is the import button

iPhoto user for many years, all of a sudden in iPhoto 9.5.1 on my MacBook running Mavericks, when I plug in my Fujifilm X10, iPhoto opens, but I get a window that shows my photo library, but it does not have the usual sidebar with the albums, and attached camera. Also, it used to automatically display the camera files to import, and now it does not, so I don't see a button to import anything. The menu bar on the bottom of the window shows albums, events, faces, places, edit, share, but no import that I can find. Help!

Are you perhaps in Full Screen Mode? Then move the cursor up to the upper border of the screen to reveal the main menu bar and exit Full Screen mode.
You should be seeing something similar like this in iPhoto 9.5.1:
A sidebar with many captions, like "devices", "Albums", for the different sections of the source list.
Each section can be hidden by hovering the cursor to the right of the caption to reveal hidden show/hide controls:
You may have to unhide the "Devices" section.
iPhoto will show you the Import panel split into two sections, first the new photos, and then photos already imported.

I have reinstalled the drivers. I watched it install the realtec and cirrus drivers. Hovering the mouse over the speaker icon says 'speakers: HP'. They are actually 'Creative'. 'Properties' indicates 'IDT High Definition CODEC' and 'This device is working correctly'.
Driver details gives 'c:\Windows\system32\drivers\dmk.sys'.
There is still no sound, although the little level meter on the control shows a green bar rising and falling.
Obviously, it thinks it's working, but there's no connection to the speakers. They're not muted, either. I checked that too.
Any other ideas?

(I now understand how to mute the music...just have to be sure to punch "set as default" after un-checking the play music button.

I tried the Export function but it would not allow me to choose the option of exporting to iMovie. I think you are right about needing Quicktime Pro. I opened iMovie and imported the clip from iPhoto and with some searching found the 'cropping, rotation' mechanism. So I now have a copy in the correct orientation. I plan to import/export it back to iPhoto because I want to have a copy on my iPhone to show people and I wanted to have it available as part of a slideshow I am making in iPhoto of my recent overseas trip. It is a pain that there is no simple orientating tool for the movie clips downloaded to iPhoto with the photos from the one camera.

I updated both the Remote app and iTunes to the most recent iTunes 11. When I got to enter my Passcode to add my iTunes library it prompts me to "open iTunes on your computer and selct "yourdevice" from the Devices list. I go into iTunes but can't seem to know where to go. Where would the remote button be located?
In iTunes Help center directions are as stated:
"Pair Remote with an iTunes library
1.Tap Remote on your device’s Home screen.
2.Tap Add an iTunes Library.A 4-digit code appears.
3.Open iTunes on your computer and click the Remote button .
4.Type the 4-digit code in the iTunes window.iTunes pairs the library on your computer with the Remote app on your device."

Still no answer to this important question, nearly a year after it was posted? WHERE IS THE REMOTE BUTTON that we are supposed to pair Remote app on the iPhone with? Here's what the help file says in French :

Where did my import button go?

I'm trying to import a song from my husbands shared library on his computer. While I can play the song on my computer the import button that's usually on the bottom sidebar is missing? Where did it go? How do I copy this song to my library? Anybody else having this problem?

Do you have scroll bars enabled in the System Preferences > General tab (MacOS X 10.7 or later)?
Try, if setting this to "Show scroll bars > Always" will bring your scrollbar back.

There is no need to import anything or use Home Sharing.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer, everything will be exactly as it was.
