Where's the iTunes Toolbar?

i read in [this article|http://www.pcworld.com/article/149297-2/11things_we_hate_aboutitunes.html] that you can have an iTunes toolbar in the taskbar. i wanted to enable it to see what it was like, so i right-clicked on my taskbar, moused-over "toolbars," and clicked on "iTunes" so that a checkmark appeared next to it. however, whenever i started to play a song and i minimized iTunes, it only minimized to the icon in the system tray - there is no taskbar visible. did Apple get rid of this feature recently, or is something screwed up?
i'm running the latest version of iTunes (8.0.2). any help would be great!

nvm, guys - i figured it out myself. i did a little research and found [this article|http://taylorhayward.org/iTunes_toolbar.html]. it turned out i had to uncheck the box in the preferences that said "minimize iTunes window to system tray"
thanks for everyone who looked at it, though!

Launch iTunes then select iTunes Store from the source list left side of the window.
Click Sign In on the right side of the window just above Quick Links.
    Now click your account name.
In the next window click See All to the right of Purchase History.

Where is the iTunes Side Bar in ver12. I hate not having the Side Bar!@
Continually feel like I am in Apples 1984 video, except Apple replaces IBM as the "Big Brother", lets all walk in lock step to the Apple Reich!
Give us back the iTunes side bar Apple!!!!

There are multiple threads on this subject already. Why open a new  topic on the same subject?
FYI the sidebar is not gone. You can activate it pressing on the button Playlists in the white topbar. The functionality of the sidebar is limited to managing playlists and content from iDevices. The rest has moved to the topbar als shown in the screenshot below.
In iTunes 11 you had to scroll down to manage playlists. You don't have to do that anymore. Playlists are always directly beside you library-view, while other function stay directly available in the white top bar.
    Much better this way...

I just installed iOS 7.1 - where is the iTunes Internet radio app?

There is no separate app. It's included in the 'Music' app if Radio is available in your country (only US and Australia at this moment).
If it is available in your country then open the Music app and select the Radio tab as described on the Apple website. If it is available in your country but don't seem Radio in the Music app then do this.

Where is the iTunes summary pane?

There isn't an iPad button on your iPad's iTunes (iTunes on the iPad is just the store) - you need to connect the iPad to your computer and open iTunes on your computer, and then select the iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (that will then give you a Summary pane/tab on the right-hand side of your computer's iTunes)

  • Where is the "iTunes" menu?

I'm a little new to iTunes and already hating it 100%. I want to rip a CD to mp3 format and the iTunes "help" says that I can change this preference by going to "iTunes>Preferences...".
I have NO "iTunes" menu. This is iTunes version 8. The ONLY menus that appear at the top are:
    File
    Edit
    View
    Controls
    Store
    Advanced
    Help
NONE of these has a "Preferences" submenu. Where is the mysterious "iTunes" menu that help tells me to go to? Geez this is frustrating and completely user unfriendly.

  • HT1947 Exactly where on the iTunes 11.04 display is the "remote button"?

In iTunes 11.04, where exactly onthe screen is the "remote button" one needs to push to pair iTunes with an Android control device?

Oy!!! I am looking at "Use the Remote app to control your iTunes Library"  from the iTunes Help Center. If you
open this, then drop down and click on "Pair Remote with an iTunes library", it will show four steps, #3 of which tells you to "Open iTunes on your computer and click the Remote button" and shows a symbol like a "play" button. My Samsung does steps 1 and 2 just fine, shows me the four digit code and invites me to type it into iTunes. THIS WORKED AT HOME! So where did the "Remote button" go? As Anna Russell says when she tells Wagner story lines, "I'm not making this stuff up!"
Samsung Help gets you to the same place; hit the Remote buttton in iTunes and type in the 4 Digit code.

  • Where is the iTunes to/from iPhone pairing information stored

When you sync an iPhone with iTunes it (the iPhone) has a continuted/ongoing relationship with that instance of iTunes.  For instance if you try to sync the same IP with another iTunes installation you get prompted to that effect.
What I want to know is where is this information stored on the iTunes installation (for OS X), i.e. what information is this and where is it stored.  I assume some UID is stored within iTunes to so that it knows that this partcular iPhone has a relationship with it.
Also I assume there's something stored in the iPhone itself (so that it knows which instance of iTunes it's related to).

Thanks - that works once it occurred to me to display the menu items. The actual solution I used was to enable Photostream on the Apple TV that is linked to a folder in Photostream. The advantage is that the set of photos is automatically updated in iCloud and I don't have to have my PC switched on to get the screensaver working.

  • Where are the iTunes visualizer .bundle's?

In the past I've installed a bunch of iTunes visualizers. Recently I wondered why many have disappeared from the Visualizer menu in iTunes.
indeed, I found a bunch of visualizer .bundle files in here:
/library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins, both on my user library and the system library.
Here's the kicker though- none of those show up in the menu in iTunes. And those that do show up in iTunes.. are not in the beforementioned Library Plug-ins folders. And no, these aren't the standard iTunes visualizers, but custom ones I installed from wowlab. But I installed them just by placing them in the iTunes Plug-ins folder.. so how come they're gone from that folder, yet they are the only ones that work in iTunes?
So it seems almost like the working .bundle's are somewhere else. But where?
Halp... how do I get the rest of my visualizers working again?
    (iTunes 10.6.3, Lion 10.8.1)

It depends on how you have iTunes Preferences set. The default is that when you drag files into the Music list they are copied into the library (so now you have two copies). You can change this so that all the iTunes Library contains is a references to the files - effectively an alias. Obviously if you move the files, iTunes can't find them.
In your case, if your iTune/iTunes Music folder and the album folders inside it contain actual music files then the files outside the iTunes folder are duplicates and can be removed. If the files are simply references, and thus very small, then you can't remove the actual music files.
The quick test is to close iTunes and remove them temporarily. Then open iTunes and see whether your songs play. Scroll through the list looking for the small i in a circle sign to the left of the title which indicates it can't find the file. If you don't find any then you are safe to get rid of the duplicate files.
In doing all this do not tamper with anything in the iTunes folder.

  • ITunes 11 - Where is the iTunes Library.itl file?

I used iTunes 11 to move my entire library to a new Western Digital Thunderbolt duo drive.  In iTunes advanced settings, I specified an itunes library path of /Volumes/Media Library/iTunes Media.   Then from the menu selected File -> Library -> Organize Library.  This moved all my itunes media from my local hard drive to the external drive in the path specified above.  As expected,  there was still a /Users/bernie/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media folder, which contained my iTunes Library.itl and other files.  So, I moved this folder somewhere else, yet iTunes continues to function normally.
The iTunes Library.itl file is NOT on the external drive.  Can anyone tell me if this file is still necessary, and if so, how is my iTunes still working without it?
    -Thanks

You did not in fact move your entire library, you moved just the media files.  Your iTunes application is likely using the true "library" file (along with all the other supporting files it needs) normally in your Home > Music > iTunes folder.  I have not tried what you have done but it seems iTunes is keeping track of where you have relocated that iTunes folder with the rest of the library in it.  In some regards iTunes is good at keeping track of moving files, but is horribly unforgiving if you do that to media files.
Yes, that file is still necessary, though you could use Spotlight to see if you have other copies iTunes could be using instead.
To properly move your whole library to the external you should have copied the whole iTunes folder to the external drive, then start iTunes with the option (alt) key held down and guided it to the iTunes Library.itl file on the external drive.
As expected,  there was still a /Users/bernie/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media folder, which contained my iTunes Library.itl and other files.
Is this accurate?  Your iTunes Library.itl file should not have been in your media folder.
