Where's the new Software I just installed

Brand new Macbook Pro (less that a month old. I just installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 (for MAC) and it appears the installation went successful. Did not detect in hiccups. At the end I registered the software and got message: "Thank you for installing..."
Problem is: I can't see where the program is located. There's no icon on the desktop and it's not in the dock on the bottom of the screen and I can't find it. Where do I go to find software that I have installed? FYI---I'm fairly new to MAC having recently transitioned from PC. Thx.

On your desktop there should be an icon that looks like a hard drive ( default name is Macintosh HD )
Double click ton icon. Window should open with folders on the righthand side. Double click on Applications folder to open it. You should find Photoshop here. Most of your applications you install will by default be located in this folder.

Right-click on the bookmark and select Properties. De-select the setting "Load this bookmark in the sidebar"

Are you sure it's not 6.1.6? If it is, that is the latest iOS version that will work on a 4th generation iPod Touch. Later versions require a 5G iPod which has twice as much RAM.

You need to contact Apple and order and purchase the next Upgrade Disk, Snow Leopard 10.6.3, install that and then update that to 10.6.8. You didn't give enough information to know if you need to then Upgrade that to Mountain Lion 10.8 in the Mac App Store by purchasing that, Or even IF your computer is capable of Upgrading to 10.8.

You can move file named places.sqlite from your old profile to the new one. It contains bookmarks and browsing history.

If you don't care about saving your current bookmarks, you can skip creating new profile (Firefox does it by itself at first run anyway).
I'd might suggest you to install addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410/|Xmarks Bookmark and Password Sync]. It is a free web service which synchronizes bookmarks and (optionally) passwords with central server, and then to other computers, if you installed it on more. You may treat is as a backup too.

I have just installed the new software update on my iphone 4s soon after it my phone kept turning itself off then it wouldnt come on at all so i connected it to my mac it said my iphone was in recovery mode so needed to install new software.... i waited for 10 mins roughley then at the very end it said cannot install update then it came up with - unknown error code 1600.
Does anyone know if i can fix this from home or do i need to take it into the shop?

Unfortunately I tried that and it didn't work. Thanks for the help though. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

You can restore your iPod to "New" which will erase every thing and install fresh iOS software or you can restore to a particular backup that you have previously created. In this case, your iPod Apps & data will appear as per the backup. Note that some content is not in a backup and will need to be synced back to the iPad from the iTunes music library or from, for example, the iPhoto photo library.

It doesn't say anything. It runs through the sync process like normal and tells me all of the songs that it's synking. But then when it says I can disconnect it, nothing actually synked.
