  • Where are the programs???

im kinda new at these kinda computers and used to using microsoft pc's... where are the programs on these computers... i.e: typing programs, games, or anything of that nature,, thanks..

Hi again ozzman, Programs are called applications or apps and they are in the applications folder. To find this open a 'Finder' window, (that square icon with a face in it on your dock). Text edit is a basic word processor, there is a more sophisticated one in Appleworks. If you're not sure what anything is, just double click it and it will open. (Single click from the dock) If it's not what you were looking for press 'Apple' + 'Q'. to close it. Unlike Windows just clicking on the red X doesn't quit the app, it just closes the window leaving the app running.
Games are in the app folder too.
    Have fun!

  • Where is the program after updating Photoshop Elements 9?

After updating Photoshop Elements 9, I can't find the program. I'm using Windows 7 and the program is not in the Start Menu, on the Desktop or pinned to the Taskbar. There are no .exe files in the Program Files (x86) folder, there is no Adobe folder in the Program Files folder, and there are no .exe files related to Photoshop Elements 9 in the ProgramData folder. Last of all I did a search for exe files on the C drive and went through all 5936 items - no exe files related to Photoshop elements.
    Please help.

reinstall if it's not on your computer.

  • When using Creative Cloud (CC) with yearly subscription where are the programs downloaded to?

Hello to All. I'm ignorant of this and need to learn Adobe. I installed the CC on my tablet. When I install any of the programs (Ps, Lr, etc.), are these installing to the cloud or on my tablet's hard drive? If hard drive, I think I will run out of space. In my head I envision the CC as the gateway to the apps in the cloud this leaving the sizable programs in the cloud. Please let me know;  I will truly appreciate it. Have a super day! ~ Karen (krkos)

Thank you, Mylenium. So, to clarify, when I choose one of the programs to download, the complete program downloads onto my hard drive taking up whatever xx GB it takes, and if i want to use that same program on one of my other devices, I have to install it there too?

  • Where is the Program?

I just downloaded Adobe Flash Player 14.0.0.125 to my MAC computer, operating OSX 10.7.5. It shows that it is installed, but where is it located? When I look in Applications, it shows I have Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124.0. I searched for the version 14 and all that showed up was the install program in my download file. Why didn't the new update replace the older version and if version 14 is there, why can't I find it?

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
I don't know why the update did not uninstall Player 9.0; uninstall it manually or using http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

  • I bought a membership today. Where are the programs?

    I bought a memberhsip.
I have the Adobe Application Manager.
    I open my account.
I click on download, I have a membership for all the apps, but I'm most interested in Photoshop.
When I click on Photoshop, the Application Manager opens and tells me that all my programs are up to date.
The up-to-date programs show Photoshop CS6.
    What do I do now?
Seriously. This is supposed to be straightforward and easy.
    Please help me.
I don't remember if this was at the top of my screen. I don't think it was.
This is what my Application Manager looks like.
These are new programs. Acrobat updated. I had Acrobat X, now it's XI. I never had the Creative Cloud Connection or the Touch App Plugin.
    Muse won't open.
Photoshop doesn't have the new features.
    What is happening?

Thanks for taking the time to answer.
I am on Windows 8, using a Windows 7 desktop interface. I can't get used to the new one, so it looks the same as yours.
I go to all programs and this is what I see, some of the new programs are there, but not Photoshop.
This is the only Photoshop that I see:
I'm watching a video by Terry White. This is why I know I don't have the right version. The new version has a Sync Settings in Preferences and mine doesn't. It doesn't have the new sharpener and it doesn't have the aspect ratio corrector. We won't talk about the shutter stabilaizer.
What do you think I should do next?

  • When I import files (copy from jpeg or copy as DNG from raw, where is the full size original stored?

I have the photos go here file, does LR5 put the untouched original there? Do I need my own file for originals and if so, how does LR5 know where to find the full size original? I have everything working but don't understand where my untouched originals go after import. Say I import off my card to My Pictures/Lightroom Catalog/ Photos go here ..... are my originals there? What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically? I don't understand why LR5 didnt put in an originals do here file that imports the full photo to a stock folder. I am so confused I am about ready to throw out LR5. I even bought your instructional DVD and it doesnt make where the original files location clear, it just repeats that LT5 does NOT import the original, just thumbnail and instructions, where is the program getting the photo when I double click to open it , or am I only seeing a lower resolution version of the photo and the full res is now gone because I formatted the card?

When you import photos, you can choose "Copy" or "Move" or "Copy as DNG", and then select a destination folder on your hard disk. This happens on the right hand side of the Import dialog box. So your original files go to this destination folder.
Alternatively, if your photos are already on your hard disk, you can import by choosing "Add" and the original photos remain in the existing location.
If you're not sure where the photos are, open Lightroom, go to the Library Module, and on the right hand side is the Metadata Panel. Set the dropdown to "Default", and it will show you where your photos are stored. Alternatively, you can right-click on any photo and select "Show In Finder"/"Show in Explorer" and Lightroom will take you to the exact folder where the photo is located.
So, bottom line, you are in total control of where the originals go, and if your forgot where you put them, or made a mistake, you can always find out where they are.
What if I erase my card now, do I only have partial size negatives basically?
If your import was successful, then the photos are now stored on your hard disk. So you have the full size original for Lightroom to work with.
it just repeats that LT5 does NOT import the original, just thumbnail and instructions
Lightroom does import the original, which means, in Lightroom jargon, that it records the location and metadata about the photo; in other words, Lightroom knows where the photo is, but Lightroom NEVER contains your photo, your photo is ALWAYS stored on the hard disk.
Because Lightroom now knows where your photo is located, it is important that you not manage your photos (move, edit, rename, delete) outside of Lightroom. Photo managements tasks now must be done in Lightroom. (There are advanced methods that let you manage your photos outside of Lightroom, but these would be NOT RECOMMENDED for beginners)

Just drag the small window to the top right below the toolbar, you'll see the area highlighted and when you drop it the file should dock.

  • WHERE TO FIND THE Mac OS X to reinstall the programs?

WHERE TO FIND THE Mac OS X to reinstall the programs?

If you're talking about OS X 10.6 or earlier, iLife and other programs are on the application disk, usually the second disk of the set. If you need a set, you can call Apple Support to see if they are still available for sale for your system. The first disk is the operating system.
If they don't have the original OS X disks for your system, you can buy OS X 10.6 from the online Apple store, via phone or online. And the iLife programs from vendors like hardcoremac.com and on Amazon.com. OS X 10.5 is no longer available from Apple and has to be bought from a vendor or used. If you buy used, buy a retail copy and not the gray-faced copies, as they are locked to the system type they are delivered with.
If you're talking OS X 10.7 or later, those are loaded from the App store, as there are no disks included with those systems.
