Where's the SATA Driver for 64-bit???

Question

Hi there, i have a MSI Board for dual Opteron, and also got the new Windows XP 64 bit (Opteron edition) to try, but the problem gets big is were the hell im gonna put SATA drivers during the windows installation, where there is no 64 bit driver.
Im very disapointed with MSI and VIA Partner, by building Motherboards for Opteron/Atlhon 64, and not giving a damm good support for the upcoming 64 bit platform.
The way i see is either they are laisy or they took a the oportunity to make money by just selling lies.

As far as I know there are only nVidia and Adaptec drivers, maybe a few more, but there is very little hardware that has Win-64 drivers if they are not included with Win-64.
Be patient, they will all come when the platform is released by Microsoft.
Im afraid I side with the original poster, you are offering for sale the skeleton for a 64 bit system; or get off the bloody pot.  By which I mean, If you plan to offer a 64 bit product, support it.  MSI have disappointed me with their failure to release regular bios updates or allow access to beta level drivers/bios for those who have a genuine interest in pushing the boundaries.  Why should we be patient when we have shelled out good cash for a motherboard upon which to run a 64bit platform.
Though, admittedly, responsibility for driver release falls with the manufacturer of the chipsets, not the motherboard and the original posters critiscism was best directed to VIA or Promise.
Personally, I use linux; so except for ATI and Atheron failing to support 64bit; I have a complete 64bit system functioning well without need for binary driver support.  My only gripe is MSI's unfathomable tardiness in keeping up with BIOS upgrades for their 64bit products.
Failure to provide drivers for an OS which is already in late beta (as That Crud From Redmond(tm) 64bit is) testing constitutes a fumble of herculean proportions.
3 months ago, I was an MSI zealot; swearing by their products; however, watching *ALL* other 64bit via chipset mobo manufactures eclipse them with bios support, documentation and drivers, I am getting more and more keen to ditch the k8tneo and write it off as a bad idea.  I am consistently frustrated by the technical support departments ignorance of the Athlon64 erratum, their poor email responsiveness and general lack of support for amd64 architecture.
Perhaps I need to take a deep breath and start working on stabilising a different system...
