Where's the signal?

Recently completed build with specs below. Plug the thing in and the monitor receives no signal. Video card is receiving power and is properly seated. On power up, hearing no beeps. Actually not hearing anyhting but fans. This is my first build with some really sweet components, would love to get this friggin rig going. Any help, please, would be appreciated.

Try other ram....like some old PC-2100 or PC-2700 stick...see what happens.

I see that my aiport utility is updated. I used to be able to go in and see the MAC addresses of people on my wifi and now that appears to be missing.
Can I still get that and if so, how?

I assume that you are using version 6.0 of the AirPort Utility. Both the Wireless Clients and DHCP Clients features are now missing in this version of the utility. You can get these back, indirectly, by installing version 5.6. Both versions can run concurrently.

My recorded guitar is not sounding like the signal I am monitoring. It sounds very good when recording, but lacks energy and detail when it is played back. If I am using input/direct monitoring am I also bypassing the Analog to Digital converters? Could this explain the difference in sound quality?
Would it be the same to monitor a signal directly out of the sound card and to monitor "through" Logic?
My sound card is a Presouns Firepod.

Yes.

No.
My sound card is a Presouns Firepod.
Consult the manual of that device, to see if you can learn from where in the signal chain it gets your direct monitoring from --- PRE conversion or POST conversion... My bet is that it is pre conversion.

Where does skype signal come from

Okay, I have skype finally. But after reading skype info I still didn't get an idea of how it works. Basically where does the signal come from. Is it like a cellphone or do you have to be near something. Oddly enough, there's no real explanation on these forums. Or at least the ones I've read. It seems that its VOIP, whatever that is. Does it need wireless, or cells... can I call to someone driving in my car or get a call from someone. What are the limitations? Confused.

Skype is a VoIP provider. VoIP providers use Internet access in order to make phone calls. If you are home you can use your phone's WiFi to obtain Internet access from your home's wireless router. If you are not you can use either your phone's 2G/3G/4G data plan or the Internet from any WI-Fi access point you have access to in the area.

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

HT5022 How do i use my airport extreme to extend my wireless network, or make the signal stronger

I have a wireless modem/router and want to use my airport extreme to strengthen the signal throughout my house...how do i do that?

Plan to establish a permanent Ethernet cable connection from one of the available LAN <-> ports on your modem/router to the WAN "O" port on the AirPort Extreme. Locate the AirPort Exteme in a central location in the general area where more wireless coverage is desired.
Configure the AirPort Extreme using AirPort Utility to "create" a wireless network using the exact same wireless network name, same exact wireless security settings and same exact password that your modem/router uses.
Finally, the Extreme must be configured in Bridge Mode to operate correctly with the modem/router.
To get everything in the proper sequence on the network....once the Extreme is configured, power off the entire network for a few minutes. Then start the modem/router first and let it run a minute by itself. Then start the Exteme next the same way. Continue starting devices the same way until the entire network is back up.

How can I get a video signal using IMAC 27 with only mini display port. I like to send the signal wireless to a TV using a TV/audio transmit system.

I have an IMAC 27 with a mini display port ( only this). I also have all the adapters ( mini display port to VGA, HDMI...).
Since I moved to UAE I like to transmit the signal frm my IMAC ( where I also look German TV on) to my TV. I will do so by using a wireless Transmit receive system with theree cinch inputs ( transmit system ( video, 2x voice).
The distance to the TV IS ABOUT 10m and one wall. I don`t want to use a cable.
Is there any solution for example mini display to VGA + VGA adapter to cinch so I can use the transmit system?
HDMI would also be an optiekn, bat then I have to by another Transmit receive system.
If somebody made already the experience I would appreciate to share the information

I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

How can i display the signal out of a FFT block to a graph?

What conversion is required in order to convert a the output of a FFT block to a waveform display? The signal input to the FFT block is a binary pattern signal!

Unfortunately, I cannot open these files that you have attached so I cannot tell you for certain where your problem lies. However, if you are using one of the FFT VIs from the Analzye>Waveform Measurements sub-palette, then you should be able to wire directly from the VI to a Waveform Graph. Make sure you are trying to wire to a Wavform Graph not a Waveform Chart. If you are using the FFT VIs on the Analyze>Signa Processing>Frequency Domain sub-palette, you should also be able to directly wire into a Waveform Graph, but please refer to the KnowledgeBase document linked below for more information about plotting complex numbers.

Extending using a wireless connection always results in a performance compromise.
If the Express is going to extend using a wireless connection, then the Express will need to be located about half way between the AirPort Extreme and the general area where you need more wireless coverage. The more that you have line-of-sight between the Extreme and Express, the better the network will operate.
Remember......the Express can only "extend" the quality and signal speed that it receives, so it needs to be located where it can get a very good signal from the Extreme. Although Apple cleverly uses the term "extend", a more accurate term for the Express would be "repeater".
If the Express will extend by connecting to the Extreme using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection......highly recommended for best performance.....then the Express can be located exactly where you need more wireless coverage. There is no signal loss at all through the Ethernet cable, so the Express gets a full speed signal no matter where it might be located.

NO SERVICE ON iPhone 5 AFTER 7.1.1 UPDATE - (showing all the steps I made just to try and bring the signal of my carrier back) HELP!

Hi there, I did an iOS update for my iPhone 5 model: MD300ZP/A (FACTORY UNLOCKED)
After the update through iTunes. I restored my phone from the back up. I noticed that the signal bars for my carrier (Globe Telecom - Philippines) we're abnormally low. I tried calling my wife and it didn't push through. Tried a text message and it did not send. I had 2 bars of signal in a place where I normally have full coverage. My LTE and 3G works though.
After this I decided to;
1. Reset the network settings and nothing happened. Still no signal.
2. Put into airplane mode - waited 5-10 secs and turned off airplane mode. Still no signal.
3. Turned off 3G/LTE - waited a few secs. - Still no signal. - Turned it on again. Still no signal.
4. Did another full restore and update. Still no signal.
5. Another full restore and update to new iPhone (not restoring from my back up). Still no signal.
6. Put the iPhone on recovery mode - Plugged into to itunes. Made a restore from back up. Still no Signal.
7. Did No. 6 again and DID NOT restore from back up and set up as new iPhone. Still no signal.
8. Did another recovery mode and then restore. Ejected the phone and restored from iCloud. Still no signal.
9. Did another recovery mode and then restore. Ejected the phone and set up as new iPhone. GOT A SIGNAL! But still did not let me push through calls and text messages. Then the signal went away.
In between these steps I would get a "Update Carrier settings" window. I would see that and then click update then observe the phone. Nothing happens. Still no signal.
In between those steps again I would choose not to "Update the Carrier settings" and then the iPhone would carry a signal and then I will try to call but nothing happens once again.
10. I tried putting in other carrier sims and ONE worked - (Smart Telecom - Philippines) the other did not (SUN - Philippines).
11. Tried putting in my wifes sim (same as what didn't work for me) (GLOBE - Philippines) Still did NOT WORK.
12. Tried putting the sim that doesn't work on my updated phone to my wifes iPhone 5 which was still on 7.1 ONLY - AND IT WORKED.
13. Called my carrier and still nothing they have told me has helped.
now my iPhone is stuck on no service when I input the carrier sim that I have been using on it for a year now. Never jailbroken nor unlocked by a 3rd party software.
Anything I missed???

I am having the same issue here... just upgraded my 5s to 7.1.1 (never jailbroken - factory unlocked) and then boom... NO Service!!! Searching ... that's it. currently using Smart Telecom Sim... at first it was working for me... after 6-7 hours, it started the No Service issue. I cannot send a text or make a call...

I am based in the United Kingdom. The carrier is Orange.
I lose the signal inside buildings and outside of buildings. It happens at work and at home. It happens in Centarl London in the open air and inside. It happens in small towns.. It happens in the countryside. It happens in motor cars. It happens in airports. It happens when the battery is fully charged, when it is half charged and when it's low on charge. It happens using the phone, when reading messages and when using the internet.

The problem about the signal of JNI

When the system (it creates by the C language) created here is operated on Solaris and javaVM is operated using a JNI, the phenomenon which the core file outputs within the JIT compiler of java (libsunwjit.so) has occurred.
Although it had generated twice until now, since it had collided with the signal which the signal has generated in one of the another threads, and it uses internally by JavaVM from the contents of a core file when it generated first, it had generated.
However, although the core file was investigated when it generated at the 2nd times, there was no trace that another thread generated the signal.
Is there any case where collide with the signal currently used by JavaVM, and also a signal is generated in a JIT compiler?
What thing has an obstacle used as the factor which a JIT compiler makes have generated the signal in the past again?
Please give me the reply to the above-mentioned question for a cause elucidation.

How to extract the signal out from the waveform by my designated power level?

Dear all,
How can I extract the signal from the waveform accroding to the power level? I read the Trigger&Gate.vi, but this vi extract signal according to the duration time. I want to extract signal according to power level.
As shown in the following figures, the signal I want to process is between 130000 to 140000, if I zoom in, I can see the the useful signal is between 135400 to 138200. The question is how to extract the signal in the zone?
I tried the sub_NoiseEst_And_Chop_Shell.vi in the Packet_based_link example too, but this subvi seemed to be a little slow. Can anybody give me better advice? Thanks in advance!

I was working on something similar but haven't had time to fully develop it.
My idea was to use an envelope detector (low pass filter) and then use an energy detection VI on the envelope.

Where's the best location to place Wireless router

I have a two story house and want to know the best location to get the besp reception inside and outside the house

The best place is generally somewhere near the center of the area where you want wireless service. Ideally, the signal should pass through as few walls as possible, as it travels from the router to your wireless computers. Try to locate it away from other electronics (i.e. don't put it behind your monitor, near a 2.4 GHz telephone, or near a microwave.). If you have a primary desktop computer, there are some advantages to keeping it within eyesight, as this lets you quickly check the status of the router if there is a problem. Finding a good location is sometimes just a matter of trial and error, so don't hesitate to try out a few spots. If you find 2 locations that are equally satisfactory to you, then consider your neighbors, and locate it where it is least likely to bother them.
