Where should i save photos?

I am confused if I should save directly in to Iphoto or another area first and set up folders for each subject.
Thanks

Hi,
Import your Photos Directly into iPhoto and Use iPhoto to Manage your Photos...
Here's some Videos on iPhoto:
http://www.apple.com/ilife/video-showcase/
Also if you Open iPhoto... goto Help... you can Select Video Tutorials from there...
Hope this helps...

  • Where should I save my Dreamweaver Widgets?

    Hi, everyone.
I downloaded a Lightbox widget. Clearly, I made a mistake in saving the widget, because this is the address in my header information for the CSS file!
    C|/Users/Alex/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS4/en_US/Configuration/Temp/Assets/eam6DA9.tmp/css/lightbox.css
I am downloading the widget again, and it is asking for my destination folder. Where should I save the widget so that I can pop the CSS and JS files right into the head data?
    Thanks a lot, Community -

    Hello Queenoid,
It does not matter where you save the widget although you probably want to save it into something  like your "My Documents" or "Downloads" folder for easy access. When you save the Lightbox widget, 1 file (LightBox Gallery Widget_default.html) & 3 folders (css, images, scripts) are saved in the location you specified. If you want to use your own pictures, go into the images folder & replace the images there with your own.
When done, upload the file & folders to your site & everything should work.

  • Where should I save the camera calibration profile for Lightroom 2?

I created some DNG Camera Profiles by DNG Profile Editor. For Camera Calibration in Camera Raw, I save those .dcp files in C:\ Administrator\ Documents and Settings\ Application Data\ Adobe\ Camera Raw \ CameraProfiles. However, I could't find such a subfolder in Lightroom folder, does any one know where should I save the dcp files for Lightroom 2? Thank you

It's the same install folder for both Camera Raw and Lightroom (i.e., a .dcp installed in the folder you described will be readable by both CR and LR).

  • Where should I save my free trial of adobe acrobat pro?

where should I save my free trial of adobe acrobat pro?

You can save it any where on the hard disk.
Normally when downloading the default location is your Downloads folder or thr desktop where its easier to trace and run the installer file to install.

  • Where should I save the playlists file

In what specific file on my computer should i save my iTunes personal playlists files

If you mean Playlists created in your iTunes Library, iTunes does all that for you. You don't have to "save" them anywhere. As you edit them, iTunes "saves" them and they should be in the same place when you next open iTunes.

  • How/where do I save photos after editing in DxO Pro?

Previously I have used iPhoto for all my photo storage/editing, but have just started using DxO Pro9 as my external editor, btu am confused as to what to do with the newly edited images. Exporting to Application does not work as iphoto cannot read the file. Exporting to original folder (uising the RAW image from the Masters sub-folder to start with) does not seem to show in the previews, back in iPhoto. Best I've managed so far is exporting to desktop, then dragging back into iPhoto, so it is imported again, but this means everything get duplicated doubling the amount of disk space used. Any suggestions, please?

If DxO Pro9 is a photo editor then set it as the external editor and when finished editing save (not save as) to return the image to iPhoto - other wise you have to save to the desktop and reimport giving your multiple copies
And what ever you do stop directly accessing the contents of the iPhoto library - it is not supported and will cause you problems - as an external editor you can choose in the iPhoto preferences to use the RAW - but if you do then you still have to save to the desktop and reimport the edited photo
supported access to your photos is described here - How to Access Files in iPhoto

  • Where should I save my SUD files?

    Hi All,
I am trying to call a dialog box from a script with this code:
Dim MyDlg Set MyDlg = SudDlgCreate("Input", "DlgProgress")
DIAdem displays the error >>Cannot find "dlgProgress.SUD" file<<
How can I "tell" DIAdem where to look for the file? (inserting the full path instead of "DlgProgress" didn't work)

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi FraCh,
you only need to mention the whole path like:
    Dim MyDlg
Set MyDlg = SudDlgCreate("Input", "C:\DlgProgress") . But you'll have no permission to write this directory (C.
If you don't mention any directory or  path DIAdem will use the path which is storage at Userpaths of the settings window. (%CSIDL_COMMON_DOCUMENTS%\National Instruments\DIAdem 2011\Data\)
In larger applications it's not recommended to use the whole path. You usually use path variables.
Have you already used the record mode(dt: Aufzeichnungsmodus)? When you start this mode you have to choose one of this three possibilities to go on(->Attachment)
Try them to see the differences.

    1) If I download an MP3 where should I save the file? I'm looking to play these with iTunes.
    2) I currently see a file that is called "automatically add to iTunes" among others drilled down into the music folder. Is this the quickest way?
    3) I also have some music files witin the finder showing up under "all my files". What should I do with these?
Sorry, PC guy coming over to the dark side recently and not to familiar with my MBA yet. Thanks!

Yes. You can make a shortcut to that folder and put it on the desktop.

    Don't do anything with them.
If you are using the Search at top right of a Finder window, that simply finds files anywhere.

  • Where shoudl I save my images? (Was: images)

where should i save my images on my computer/ which directory so its an easy transition? should i just be naming them like image.jpg?

    >where should i save my images on my computer
    >/ which directory so its an easy transition?
Transition from what? Images can be stored anywhere within your defined site. It's up to you to decide how to organize. If the site is small, it might make sense to have a single "images" directory off the root. If it's bigger, you can make an image directory for each page, or organize by topic/category
    >should i just be naming them like image.jpg?
They should have meaningful names so that you can easily recognize them.

  • Can I create separate folders to save media on my Airport Time Capsule? Issue is I have a 256GB HDD Mac Pro Retina which is almost full. TC will only take backup of my HDD. So where would I save my photos and videos from my iPhone and iPad?

It is a hard one.. laptops with small drives are a pain.
What you need is a home media server.
Some people use a PC running itunes for cost.. but that is nothing like as good as using a Mac mini.. they make great little HTPC device.. you can plug in large hard disks and store all your files and media. And share it with the network.. Read up apple's instructions on home sharing.
    https://www.apple.com/au/support/homesharing/
For cost you can buy a mini from 2011 or 2012.. I would not recommend earlier ones.. the advantage of 2012 is they have USB3 ports. But you will pay more for them.. new mini is not as useful.. they have soldered in memory and you cannot upgrade.. the old mini was the most easily modified mac in the whole range. Uses little power and can be bought for a $300US for a good one second hand.. maybe less.

If photos are saved they go to the Camera Roll in the Photos App.

how can i sync all my camera roll on icloud as backup effectively.
Backups of your iOS devices will include the Camera Roll: To backup your iOS devices see:
For backing up to iCloud:   iCloud: Backup and restore overview  http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519
For backing up using iTunes:  iTunes: About iOS backups  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946

In addition to Gail's  advice:  Right now only shared photo streams,  journals, and slideshows can be stored in iCloud and published on the web, so you can see them from other devices. But these photos will have a reduced resolution and will not suffice as a backup. These options are only for sharing.

  • Where should I store the collatoral files that are associated with photos stored in lightroom?

Where should I store the collatoral files that are associated with photos stored in lightroom? Items such as pdf files, word documents, etc. How should I connect them to each other so I can find both the photo and the related data?

Lightroom itself will not help you with pdf, word, etc.
However, there is a plugin you can use called AnyFile which will allow you to manage these documents in Lightroom (by assigning keywords and other metadata) so that you can search for all documents (photos, pdf, word, music, powerpoint, etc.) with given metadata.
Because you do this via metadata, it doesn't matter where you put these files. Put them anywhere you want.
