Where should the certificate be installed??

Hi,
It is possible to install certificates in the Internet Explorer, there is a certificate store for the JRE and there is a certificate store for java web start.
If I have a java web start application which is started via Internet explorer where does the sertificate need to be installed? in IE, in the JRE or in Java Web Start?
Thank you in advance for an explanatio as I don't find this question addressed in the documentation.
Regards,
David

  • Where should DNG profile editor install the .dcp file?

Just made my first attempt to create a custom camera profile using the X-Rite color checker passport and the DNG Profile Editor.
Thanks to the excellent tutorial, the process went smoothly.  Next I took the final step of exporting the profile (.dcp) file, expecting to find the new profile when I opened an image in ACR.  Unfortunately the new profile was not listed in the Camera Profile dropdown menu.
After much searching I discovered that the profile was written to the folder containing the .dng images used to construct the profile.  Obviously not where it belongs in order for ACR to find it.   I assumed that "Export Profile" would automatically write the .dcp file to the proper location.
Where should the .dcp files be installed for Win7x64 running ACR 8.2.?
Is there a way to establish the proper location as the default in the Profile Editor?
    Thanks for your help.

Custom-created .DCP profile files go into the following location under your Windows Users folder:
    C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
The AppData folder is a hidden-system folder so you may need to turn on the viewing of those type of folders in your Explorer folder view options or just type \AppData into the folder address area and hit Enter once you get to your username folder.

  • Architecture Q. : Where should the ODI Repository Database be installed ?

    Hi all,
Where should the repository ODI database be installed
=> on the same server as the source database one or ?
=> on the same server as the target database one
    Thanks for your answers

    Hi Shib,
Maybe I could agree with you if you only use ODI for DW, for instance.
If you think about data integration, no matter what kind of system, even at transactional system, or datamart extract/load the concept of "source and target" can be any of the RDBMS at company.
What I'm defending is that in a complex environment, where ODI is the company *"data veins"*, the concept of source and target became complex too and, in my opinion, is not possible to decide where the repository should stay just by the use of those concepts.

  • Where should the ODI agent be

Where should the ODI agent be. In Source server or target server
    app

Well when we say the Target Location we generally means the Target Database or the Data warehouse location , since data needs to pass through the Target Server (target Database ) ,as i have mentioned before in my reply the target Tables or Database is how generally where the C$ ,i$ and various $ tables and also finally the Insert /Update takes place at the Target. When the data is there in one server ,the time for the agent to move data gets reduced and thus saved time and Efficiency.
although this is not an hard and Fast rule its just an advisable practice. There are some Architecture where the ODI is installed in another Server and the Target Database is located in another Server. Some of them goes for creating the Agent at the Server where ODI is installed and so ODI communicates back and forth to in both the Server for its ELT operation.
Again there are some who creates Agent even in the Source and Target , when there are huge loads needs to be fetched and processed.
coming back to your question when you my machine , are you talking about your personal Desktop or Laptop Machine . ? In that case i guess your Target and Source and again the Agent created will be once Machine itself.
Let me know if you require any more information or clarification .

  • Where does the certificate manager put the .key file?

I'm trying to generate a new openssl certificate to send off and be verified for my domain, etc. Rather than use openssl on the command-line, I thought I would just use the Certificates panel in Server Admin. (OS X Server 10.4.7)
This all looks fine and seems to generate for me a <domain>.csr file in /etc/certficates, but there's no corresponding <domain>.key file. A key file does not seem to be generated whether I specify a private key passphrase for the csr or not.
Apache is not happy without a key file, it seems.
How can I get the proper key file?
    Thanks

    Hello,
What you can do is checking where are Active Manager field in any system PLD first.  Then you can decide which Active Manager is more suitable there.

  • My Macintosh HD volumn icon is on my desktop, not the HD alias icon. Where should the volumn icon be put.

Tonight I saw that I had 2 HD icons on my desktop.  When I went to info, I found out that one is the actual volumn icon and the other is an alias.  Where should my Macintosh HD volumn icon be stored on my computer.  I worry that if it is on the desktop, it might be deleted or put in the trash, if this is even possible.

If you've your Finder preferences set to show hard drives, etc., on the Desktop then that's where you'll see them... nohing to worry about.
If you've an alias for the drive, you can simply Trash it. No need to have it on the Desktop as well.

  • Where is the certificate stored?

In my jnlp file, I have set
    <security>
    <all-permissions/>
    </security>
So the first time the user attempts to use the jnlp file, the user is asked if they would like to accept the certificate. After they have done so, where is that certicate stored? In a cacerts file? If so, which one?

You may get certificates as "EC" (meaning Extension, certificate) or "AC" (meaning Application Certificate).
Some earlier versions of javaws had a bug where they are allwase put in as "EC"
    for understanding the cache contents:
the first leter is taken from the following:
/** Main type of entries */
    char DIRECTORY_TYPE = 'D'; // Used internally
    char TEMP_TYPE = 'X'; // Used internally
    char VERSION_TYPE = 'V'; // Used internally
    char INDIRECT_TYPE = 'I'; // Used internally
// Main JNLP types for downloaded resources
    char RESOURCE_TYPE = 'R'; // JAR/CLASS/IMAGE
    char APPLICATION_TYPE = 'A'; // Application-Desc
    char EXTENSION_TYPE = 'E'; // Extension-Desc
    char MUFFIN_TYPE = 'P'; // Muffins! (PersistenceService)
    the second leter comes from:
    char MAIN_FILE_TAG = 'M'; // The main resource
    char NATIVELIB_FILE_TAG = 'N'; // A dir for native jar expantion
    char TIMESTAMP_FILE_TAG = 'T'; // The timestamp file
    char CERTIFICATE_FILE_TAG = 'C'; // A certificate stored
    char LAP_FILE_TAG = 'L'; // LocalApplicationProperties
char MAPPED_IMAGE_FILE_TAG = 'B'; // Translated images (such as bmp)
    char MUFFIN_ATTR_FILE_TAG = 'U'; // running out - U is for mUffin

  • Where has the certificate template gone on pages on mavericks

I updated my machine to mavericks and the version of Pages and since all the updates the certificate template has gone.
Have apple removed the template? if so this is very annoying.
    Help

Apple has removed over 2/3rds of the templates because Pages 5 can not open them without damaging them.
Pages 5 has had over 90 features removed:
    http://www.freeforum101.com/iworktipsntrick/viewforum.php?f=22&mforum=iworktipsn trick
Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Trash/archive Pages 5 and review rate it in the App Store.

  • Where have the certificate templates gone in pages?

    Hi all,
I've noticed that the certificate templates seem to have disappeared in the new version of Pages. Can anyone provide me with a copy of the old ones? unfortunately the ones on the community forum aren't anywhere near as good.
    thanks
    Ricky

Sounds like you upgraded from Pages '09 which should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
The reason so many things are missing in Pages 5 (like 2/3rds of the templates) is because it lacks the tools (over 100) that Pages '09 has, which makes certain things impossible or difficult to do. stick with Pages '09 if you can till something better comes along than Pages 5.

  • Where should 'Applications' folder be installed?

    Hey all,
I recently did a back up and reformat of my HD.
Long story short, my Applications folder is NOT under my User folder, instead it's directly under the Hard Drive.
When I go to finder to locate it, it's location is right after the /. It simply says: /Applications instead of HD/User/Applications
Which brings me to my question: where is the 'Applications' folder normally? I could have sworn it has always been under the user folder, but it's simply not there. Also, if I were to go into the finder and simply move it from its current location and into my user folder, would that mess anything up? Would it duplicate files? If need be I can provide screen shots when I get home.
Thanks for any and all help!

In Snow leopard, it is at the root level of the hard drive, not in the Home Folder.
Note that the order of items shown in Places in the Sidebar is not hierarchical at all; they can be rearranged to suit one's wishes, To wit -
All you need do is free-drag (no modifier key needed) any that you wish to move.
For further affirmation, if you select the Applications item under Places and have the Path Bar visible, it can be seen that that Applications folder is at the root level of the drive -
