Where the F*** is the Wi-Fi Music Store!!!???

I have an iPhone and it says that with iTunes 7.4 there was supposed to be the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. It is nowhere to be found on my PowerBook, and when I synced my iPhone with iTunes, it didn't change it. When is it going to be done? Also, it says that the custom ringotne thing is in 7.4 but again, there aren't any changes in 7.4 since the previous version, at least on my computer.
help

Also, it says that the custom ringotne thing is in 7.4 but again...
And we may get lucky with the ringtone capability being a turned on little earlier, possibly by next week.

  • How can I view my full billing history for the app and music stores without iTunes installed?

I just received an email receipt from Paypal showing a $12.99 purchase from iTunes. I almost NEVER purchase anything over around five dollars in the app or music store. Since PayPal does not show what this purchase was for, I have not received the receipt from Apple yet, and I cannot find anyway to look up online what this purchase was for....I need help to find out ASAP what this purchase was. If my account has been compromised or if I have been incorrectly charged for something, I would like to get the issue handled immediately. I do not want to install iTunes on my PC (nor should I have to for Pete's sake), but I cannot see anything recent at all in my app or music history on my iPad (not that I would ever purchase anything for $12.99 anyway...I just don't). Thanks in advance for any tips!

How can I view my full billing history for the app and music stores without iTunes installed?
    No.
If my account has been compromised
If you even think this may have happened, immediately change your password.

  • Can't get rid of the japanese itunes music store !

It's the japanese version of it that pops up from my itunes when I want to get to music store. I live in Australia and would like to be able to download some music from the Aussie music store. Can't be that hard !! I tried downloading a new version of itunes from Australia hoping it would help, but it didn't... What do I do?? Does the fact that I bought the Ipod in Honk-Kong have anything to do with it??

Maybe, on the Hong Kong ipod...I have no way of really knowing, though.
Can you change your music store at the bottom of the iTMS home page? Way at the bottom, next to the Japanese flag....change to Australia.

  • Where the heck does Mail store settings ? Every 30 days it shreds mine ARGH

Every month or so Mail shreds all my damned settings. I thought it was my actions for a while, but the laptop was OFF for a week, then i checked mail a couple of days, and then it shreded all my settings.
    Mail is GONE.
Settings are worthless, and I cannot even remove the damned accounts and start over because Mail and KeychainAccess are screwing things up together.
Where are the settiings so I can shred them once and for all ? I am sick of having to make a new user account every month because of a email client!
    Mac os 10.4.6
    mail 2.0.7

The problem is that mail defaults to other 'autofill
form' information everytime it sends requests to the
    servers (my best guess).
I have no idea what are you talking about here.
the keychain prompt will pop up asking
for a password for the server login...
I'm not sure what are you talking about here either, but I guess it's just that Mail asks you for your password from time to time. Unfortunately, this is normal behavior when Mail cannot establish a proper connection with the POP server for whatever reasons. It does not necessarily mean there is anything wrong with your password or with the keychain. This is just one of the many misleading and bogus error messages in Mail.
Yes, creating a new user account solves teh issues
    almost immediately.
And just doing nothing and trying again after some time would probably have the same effect in most cases. That "creating a new user account solves the issues almost immediately" does not necessarily mean that "Mail shreds all [your] damned settings", nor that your "settings are worthless"
    I just don't think I should have
to chown -R everything every 30 or so days.
Could you please elaborate on this?

  • The new Itunes Music Store

I was running the previous iTunes 10.7 or whatever the last version was.  But today I downloaded the latest version of the iTunes software 11.0.1.  And I'm not too happy with the changes to the iTunes store.
The main reason: it's searching capability.
    For example:
Let's say in the iTunes store I want to search for podcasts with the keyword "lighthouses."  I type "lighthouses" into the search button in the iTunes store, and it will bring up Albums, Videos, Podcasts, etc regarding lighthouses.  Traditionally, after I search for something such as Lighthouses in iTunes store and I click on the Podcasts related to lighthouses, I'm used to seeing my search results in a List View.  And then I'm used to being able to sort the list of podcasts by date, so I can see the most recent podcasts about lighthouses first.
In this brand new iTunes store, I did tried to do the same today.  Except when I clicked on the Podcasts about lighthouses, it doesn't give me a list view.  It gives me an Icon or Album view (if that makes any sense) and I can't view the podcasts by List and then sort it by most recent first.  This makes it very hard to search the podcasts.
Does anyone know if I can customize my views in the iTunes store so I can go a List View when I want to?
Or should I just somehow try to review to the old iTunes 10.7?
    Thanks!
Attached is an example of what I'm talking about.  I searched for podcasts relating to Tavis Smiley in iTunes store, and the List View I'm accustomed to is gone.  It's now like an Album or Icon view, and let's say you've got more than 50 podcasts that were returned in your search, this new view makes it difficulty to search and sort through those podcasts.

well, i never got a reply directly to my question, but i was directed by email to post my problem within itunes... go to the podcast page of my podcast and then select "report a concern"... i always thought this was to report offensive podcasts, but if you click on that button you'll see a pull down list with a bunch of problems... i selected "difficulty downloading" and then explained the problem completely... as i said, i never heard back from anyone, but about 4 days later my podcast episode showed up... and this past wednesday we uploaded the latest episode and it showed up in the iTMS almost immediately... go figure?!
if anyone's interested, the podcast name is Schnauzer Logic and its comedy and talk and music and pop culture (i used to be the host of a morning show)... good for a giggle once a week for a couple of hours.
    cheers!

  • 'Cannot connect to the Music Store'

Apologies for previously posting this problem in someone else's thread.
I seem to be having a similar problem to a lot of people. I bought a new computer about a year ago, my iPod and iTunes work fine, and I was previously able to use the Music Store on my old computer. However, when I try to connect to it now, it says 'Error - cannot connect you to the music store. Check your internet connection is active and try again'.
I have the internet connected whenever I try this, I think I understand how firewalls work as I have tried to find the problem (and failed!) but didn't want to do anything without checking it first.
When I insert a CD to import into my library, the 'Gracenote' thing doesn't give me the names of the tracks. Similarly, it says to check my internet connection is active. My computer meets all of the requirements for iTunes mentioned on the Apple site, I have broadband and use Windows.
Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Any other ideas?
hmmmm. i'm getting over to the "using itunes music store" forum more frequently these days, but i'm not as good at some of the subtler problems as some of the people who spend more time there. if you don't get many more replies here, try reposting over in that forum. it would help provide context if you put a link in that post back to this thread. there's instructions in here:

  • Issues regarding the music store

I am so frustrated with I-tunes!!
I can open the program fine and I can play songs but I cannot easily download tunes or podcasts or navigate the store. Sometimes it will work intermittently for a short period and then it seems to not want to load at all.
I am gettting no error messages and the bar at the top says accessing music store but gets no further. I have downloaded the odd tune but it takes so long - not at all the usual speed. All my other programmes work and the Internet is fine so whats up???
Does anyone know whats going on in the UK. It seems to only have been since Friday.

Further to my original problem and the responses so far - Yes I am connected to the internet and I have had no problems or issues previously. No new updates have been put in place and I have tried the firewall too.
I am finding by experimenting that the past two mornings at about 7.30 -7.45 UK time that i-tunes seems to work perfectly - quick access and decent download speeds, but as soon as I try later in the day once I get in from work during the evening the problem returns. It is as if when more people are on the internet or i-tunes it causes a problem, although only on the i-tunes music store and nowhere else.

  • "Unable to connect to the Music Store" message

When I am trying to connect to the music store to buy music or play downloaded music, it will not allow me to connect. It suggests that my network connection is down, but I am able to get on the internet without any problems. What can I do to in order to access the music store?

For what it's worth, I too have had no joy with iTunes windows, have tried all the recommended fixes I can find here and elsewhere. The problems started for me after their lastest spasm of releases. The behaviour is weird to say the least. On my desktop at home, iTunes does not access the MS on one account, but log out and login to another, and all is fine. XP laptop on the same network at home will not access the MS either. At work, iTunes works great early in the morning (7:00 AM PST), but again won't access the MS in the afternoon. I am beginning to wonder if the problems are on their end with this time issue. Also, I noticed that the MAC people on the otherside of this board are reporting some similar problems.
One thing to note (for me at least): When iTunes does the infinite Accessing Music Store bit, if you just close it, it will not play nicely, and still run in the background chewing up 100% of the CPU. Do an Alt-Ctl-Del sequence to get to the task list and then right click on the iTunes process and select End Process Tree to kill it off.
Wish they would make iTunes a WEB app and dump its Explorer ties. I think many of its issues arise from that.

  • ITunes WiFi Music Store not working

I got my iPod touch about a week ago, and I have been very pleased with it - apart from the iTunes WiFi Music Store. At the moment, I am travelling across the USA, where I picked up my iPod. During the time I have been travelling (about 2 weeks), I have managed to use all the features on the iPod successfully, except the iTunes music store. I have been connected to several different wireless networks, from which I could access all features (maps, YouTube, stocks etc.), with the exception of the iTunes WiFi music store. This isn't such a problem, as I don't use iTunes, but as I have paid for this feature, I would like to use it.
Does anybody have any solutions to this, with the exception of restoring the iPod?

I started using my iPod on my uncle's computer, as I am abroad at the moment, but I am going to sync it with my computer when I get home. I'm not really interested in purchasing songs from iTunes, I just wanted to have a look at the app - but I have to have a registered iTunes account on my computer for this to work? If it takes that much efforrt, I don't think it's worth it.
    Thanks for your help, everyone.

  • WiFi Music Store Release Data?

I thought in the keynote address it was announced that "next week when you sync you iPhone the iTunes WiFi button will appear". It has been 2 weeks since then, and I was just wondering if anyone had any information on when this is actually going to occur.
Thanks for any information you have!

Your recollection is incorrect. The actual statement was nearing the end of the iPod touch presentation, where Jobs revealed that the iTunes WiFi Music Store was also being brought to the iPhone. The statement was, "...available a little later this month.", and also the follow-up, "...the next time you sync your iPhone...". This was referring to iTunes triggering a software update for the iPhone during sync (after the actual release) that would install and activate the feature.

  • Accessing Certain Music Stores

So our family is deciding on moving to a country that isn't listed on the iTunes store. Would it be legal to access the U.S. music store because I know there isn't a store for ever country?

One option you might consider is to keep one credit card that is linked to a US address. Maybe you can use a friend's address. Pick a card where you can normally access statements and pay it online. As long as you have a US credit card (or any country that also has an iTunes store) can can continue to purchase from them.

  • App Store and Music Store

When i upgraded my iPod to the latest software about 3 days ago. i noticed that when I accessed the app and music store, all the text had changed from the english language into an asian language. thats the only thing on the ipod that was wrong. the ipod settings show that the ipod is set to english so I dont see how this happened. Any ideas on how it changed and how to change it back?

Check that you are signed in to the USA store in iTunes on your computer. Go to the iTunes Store home page and scroll to the bottom where it says "My Store". Select the proper store and then sync your iPod. See this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311

  • Help with purchasing with from another country's Music Store

I'm trying to buy some song from the German iTunes Music Store but iTunes won't let me because my credit card isn't a German credit card. I don't see why this is a problem because the artist and Apple are still going to get money from my purcashe, just from a different country. Any suggestions on the best way to buy a song from the German Music Store?
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

its the record companies at fault companies like warner and emi in the uk dont want you to buy music from warner in the US or emi in germany as it is lost revenue to that business unit.. record companies are not benevolent suppliers of art they are capitalists and like to accrue money, the whole issue of the music lovers desire for global trading of music has long frustrated them and hence why hefty prices are paid for music imports.. this issue was what frustrated Apple's desire to produce the euro itunes store and the segmenting of the store by country was one of the things it had to do to get the labels to agree to let them have music to sell. The online music sales phenomenon has highlighted the despicable business tactics of the record labels and the EU are i believe investigating them and their shady practises....

  • How do i make purchase at foreign non-american itunes music stores???

i wanted to purchase a song from the german itunes music store, so i headed over there, and was told that my account was only valid for purchase in the american itunes store, but if i click the ok tab, then it will transfer over my account info, so i can start buying german songs.
anyway, that's what i did, and at the very moment that i saw a balance on the top right corner of itunes, an error message came up and kicked me back to the american store:
itunes could not connect to the music store. an unknown error occurred (-3237). make sure your network connection is active and try again.
i tried again and again. the same result happened all three times, which led me to the the conclusion that i can try again and again and the same result will happen over and over. i cannot help but wonder if this is some sorta unspoken mechanism to help keep the dollars at home, instead of having the greens shipped overseas.
can someone in the know help with my problem please? any help will be truly appreciated. thank you.
some Acer Pentium 4   Windows XP

To expand a little on what Not so techinical said, to buy from another country's store will require a credit card & billing address in that country. A gift card from that country also requires a billing address in the country. These are requirements of the record companies.
