Where the Spry Table gone on CS4?

I'm trying to build a data driven page with the Spry tools.
After seing a
tutorial video explaning to use the Spry Table to create the
page I've
noticed that his element is not available on Dreamweaver CS4.
Where is it gone?
Regards,
Angel Massa

Thanks David!
I've found it. It's the first option in step 3 as you
suggested.
I'm trying to enter the Spry World and is a little confusing
after working
with databases and ASP for years.

    RegardsAn individual table is not stored in an individual file. Oracle is far more complex than that. Actually, even MS Access is more complex than that.
    A table is a logical structure that is stored in a "tablespace". A tablespace is, itself, a logical structure that is made up of one or more data files. A given data file can belong to only one tablespace, but may not be the only file belonging to that tablespace. A tablespace can contain many, many tables, indexes, and or other segments. The physical realization of those segments (say, one of the tables) is in the form of data blocks, but if a tablespace has more than one file, the data blocks that make up a table may very well be scattered across all of the files in the tablespace. Even if the tablespace has only one file, the individual data blocks for a table will be scattered around that file - although groups of them will be logically contiguous, in allocation units known as "extents".
    So, first you CREATE TABLESPACE, nameing one or more files to be created in support of that tablespace. Next you CREATE TABLE and specify the tablespace (NOT the data file) the table is to reside in. It is up to oracle internals to determine which blocks of the table go into which files ... and even where within those files.

  • Using javascript to dynamically generate the html for a  Spry table

    I have some javascript which generates html code for a Spry
    table which displays the content of a Spry data set. The problem is
    that after I generate the html, Spry never fills in the values for
    the table.
    Here's what I'm doing:
    Using a data set observer, check for onPostLoad and generate
    the html code
    Using innerHTML, stuff the code into the appropriate
    <div>
    Use regionName.updateContent() to update the region I just
    created with the html code I generated
    Interestingly, if I take the generated source for my page and
    remove the data set observer, the Spry table displays correctly
    with all the expected values. This suggests to me that my generated
    html code is correct, but that there is some sort of timing issue
    (i.e. Spry doesn't know about the new code I generated).
    Any suggestions?

    I'd guess that it is a timing issue as well. I haven't looked
    much at the dataset capability in Spry, but it may be that the
    dataset "finds" all of the regions and code that it applies to
    before the onPostLoad event is triggered. If that is the case, then
    your generated code doesn't exist yet,and so the dataset thinks
    that there is nothing for it to apply to.
    Will the HTML that you generate change based upon the dataset
    that is actually returned? I guess I'm looking for the reason why
    the HTML is being generated when it could be in the page itself and
    avoid this issue completely.

  • Ghosts in the Spry Dataset Wizard

    I've been struggling all day with a very peculiar problem. I have a php file with the "Recordset to XML" server behavior applied. I also created an XML file from this. Then, on another page, I tried to make a dataset, taking the information from the php file and using the xml  file for the design time feed. I also put a table in the page. But everytime, when I came out of the wizard, it replaced the path to the source php file with a path to the xml file. I would then change it in the code of the page and open up the dataset wizard and it would have changed the source file to the xml file! I've gone round and round. And yet, although I've done this before but now successfully, I cannot stop the dataset wizard from changing it today.
    I've even gone to the code and changed the source file to what is correct and then uploaded the file but it still can't find the the source - and when I get back to DreamWeaver, I see that the dataset wizard has changed the source file back to the xml file again.
    I've been struggling with this for 9 hours and am giving up in disgust. If anyone can help, I would be so grateful!

    Hi Ben,
    Yes, I can which makes it even weirder!! It's just so strange that the dataset wizard just recodes the page no matter what I do.
    What I get now when I come to the page that should have the dataset (and this is something new) is the headers on the spry table but no data.
    Another thing is that when I created the xml from the php page, I just chose two of the fields to export. And yet when I am using this as a design feed, it sees all of the fields from the recordset so it doesn't seem like it really is using the local xml file as a design feed since that has only the two fields. Maybe I should go through and not filter out the fields when I create the xml from the php and just filter in the table. Although that shouldn't be the problem. And I still don't know why no matter what I input into the dataset wizard, it will change the code to something else when I exit it.

  • Spry tables: Sort by date

    I need a spry table to sort by title and date columns; the
    title works fine by selecting the 'sortable column' option when
    making the table - this didn't work for the date column, but I
    think this was because the excel/xml data used had the date info in
    a text format. Once I'd formatted the date column cells in excel
    doc as 'date' in (e.g.) Jan-07 format, the xml conversion changed
    the data to what i think is the standard date format (e.g.
    2007-07-01 00:00:00). Making this column sortable resulted in rows
    being rearranged in the spry table, but not in any logical order.
    please help!
    many thanks,
    S
    (apologies if that was long-winded, wasn't sure whether you
    needed any context)

    You cannot sort a formatted date by default using the Spry.  How is the data stored, in XML or HTML?  And is the date stored as a formatted date or a timestamp?  What is typically suggested is that you store the dates in two formats.  First is a timestamp format or a formatted date as yyyy-mm-dd.  You use that column to sort and then you have a date formatted however you want in a second column and that gets displayed to the user.
    You can see more about this in the following thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/85718
    The problem with the dd/mm/yy format is that Spry (and many other solutions) read the information as plain text.  So here's a quick example of oldest to newest
    30122011 - Dec 30, 2011
    31012011 - Jan 31, 2011 - January would come after Dec
    01302011 - Jan 31, 2011
    01312010 - Jan 30, 2010 - 2011 would be before 2010
    20100131 - Jan 31, 2010
    20110131 - Jan 31, 2011
    20111230 - Dec 30, 2011 - In this format all numbers show up in numerical order.

  • Way to have a Spry table fill remainder of a window

    Does anyone know of a cross platform way to get a Spry table
    to fill the remainder of a window, assuming the top has, for
    example, controls for performing a query?
    None of the Spry samples I've seen are designed this way. But
    then I guess that's not surprising considering CSS, AFAIK, requires
    that co-ordinates and sizes be specified either in some particular
    units, or as a percentage of the parent element, NOT some
    expression involving both.
    Is the only solution to somehow, in Javascript, query the DOM
    for the window's dimensions (assuming that's possible), subtract
    the height of the DIV element for the controls, and dynamically
    update the height of the DIV element for the Spry table with the
    result?
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rob

  • Spry Table

    Hello, I am using an XML file that has been exported from an
    Access 2007 database for the spry table. The data displays in the
    table just fine. Is there any way to automatically refresh the data
    in the export when the database gets updated? Thank you much!
    jim

    That code should go in your call back function, its the code
    that fires after the update has been perfomred. It depends on how
    your updating your database, but normally its a javascript function
    that is called after you insert to the database.
    Look at this link and check the Spry Datasets tab for
    loadData

  • Can't explain where my credit has gone

    In May I got a skype landline and the account was credited with £10. Since then the auto recharged has credited the account twice with another two orders of £10 each. So a total of £30. My balance currently reads as £12.77 so Skype claims I have used £17.23. However when checking the account usage for May I find 21p of calls and no SMS and in June to date I find £3.25 of calls and 34p of SMS with no Wifi for either month as I haven't used it. So this gives me a total spend according to my SKype account of £3.80.
    So my question is ...where is the remaining and unaccounted for £13.43?
    I have attached an image of screen shots taken of my account usage info. Payments of £11.50 (skype credit of £10) were made on the 21st May, 16th June and again yesterday.
    I want an explanation of where the rest has gone and I want the ammount added back onto my account. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hello
    Your account shows that you have a 1-month Skype Number which recurs @ GBP4.025 monthly and Skype Credit with an Automatic Top Up enabled. Your credit balance is currently GBP12.77.
    Total call expenditure May/ June to date = GBP17.24. This includes forwarded calls, calls to cellphones in UK and in other countries. If you think that this is incorrect please contact Skype customer service

  • Should I use BCS my backend database will update all the record of the sql table daily.

    Should I use the BCS where the database table is going to be updated daily.
    All the records will be updated on daily basis.
    Why should I use BCS when I can connect to the sql server directly and  update the records that I need.
    What additional benefits can I get from BCS , I do not need the search functionality.

    Hi,
    According to description, my understanding is that you want to know if you need to use Business Connectivity Services to connect external SQL table.
    Business Connectivity Services is a centralized infrastructure in SharePoint 2013 and Office 2013 that supports integrated data solutions.
    Business Connectivity Service will provide a familiar user interface to manage sql table data. It is more security for reading and writing data to external sql table.

  • Spry Table and Changing Style

    I want to change the style in a detailregion depending on content. Therefore I need a way to determine which row in the spry table is active. Somehow like this:
    if(talent.rowNumber == 0) {
         document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = '#660099';
         else if(talent.rowNumber == 1) {
         document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = '#559944';
         else if(talent.rowNumber == 2) {
         document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = '#449922';
         else if(talent.rowNumber == 3) {
         document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = '#228844';
         else {
         document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = '#000000';
    I know that rowNumber is not what I am looking for. What can I use?

    Thanks Gramps,
    This one's the ticket. I had to change "onDataChanged" to "onCurrentRowChanged" and add the script to call the scroll function.
    Here is what it looks like now:
    var bioObserver = new Object;
    bioObserver.onCurrentRowChanged = function(dataSet, data) {
              var rowNumber = 1 + talent.getCurrentRowNumber(0);
    if(rowNumber == 1) {
              alert("Current row number is " + rowNumber);
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.height='360px';
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = "#220088"; }
    if(rowNumber == 2) {
              alert("Current row number is " + rowNumber);
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.height='630px';
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = "#109966"; }
    if(rowNumber == 3) {
              alert("Current row number is " + rowNumber);
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.height='315px';
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = "#991166"; }
    if(rowNumber == 4) {
              alert("Current row number is " + rowNumber);
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.height='1350px';
              document.getElementById('bioTall').style.color = "#559911"; }
              var howhigh = document.getElementById('bioTall').style.height;
              alert('bioTall = ' + howhigh);
              $("#bioContainer").bioScrollbar("vertical",300,"easeOutCirc",1.05,"auto","yes","yes",2);
    }; talent.addObserver(bioObserver);
    I will remove the alerts and color of course. Here is the result: http://www.peermann.com/CCAI/artists/artists.html

    Had hard drive renewed due to product recall (iMac) backed up complete system on time machine . Had the drive done got mac back tried to reinstall from time machine .The new drive tells me that the space has been taken up but can't find where the file have gone. Need to free up the space that the ghost file take up so I can drag drop from ex drive onto harddrive

    Here's the scoop, new friend.....
    When you boot into Time Machine you'll get the same OS X Utilities screen as you would if you booted into the Recovery HD. So, from there go into Disk Utilities to erase/format your internal drive. After that's done, back out to the OS X Utilities screen and select the restore option. Just follow the prompts to select the TM back up date you want to restore from and where to restore it to. Pretty straight forward.

  • Where are the Spry Javascript files located in Dreamweaver CS4?

    I am sure this is a trivial question but I cannot find them.
    The Adobe Web site states that Dreamweaver CS4 ships with Spry 1.6. I am trying to create a SpryNestXMLDataSet, but cannot find where the js file is stored, to copy it to my site. I do not see anything in the insert Spry data set wizard that allows me to create a nested XML data set. Thus, I can get Dreamweaver to add the xpath.js and the SpryData.js files, but I cannot figure out how to add the SpryNestXMLDataSet.js file, nor find a copy within the Dreamweaver program files.
    Thanks,
    Van

    Hello Van,
    Dreamweaver only includes the Spry files that can be configured using
    the DW GUI. As there isn't a nested XML configurator yet, its not
    included in dreamweaver.
    On Mac you can find the Spry files here: /Applications/Adobe
    Dreamweaver CS4/configuration/Shared/Spry/
    On Windows its probably something like c:/program files/adobe/
    dreamweaver cs4/configuration/shared/spry/ But i don't own a windows
    pc so I cant tell
