  • Buy MDD power supply from Apple

I just found a link suggesting that you can buy a new MDD power supply from Apple. I had tried clicking on their parts link but it just takes me round and round. Can you buy one online or do you have to call them up?

As an original owner of a G4 MDD DP1.0GHz, AND having MISSED the power supply recall/exchange for the "VERY NOISY" Fan and power-supply combo, I am wondering if this will take me half-way, or all the way to where I would be if I hadn't missed that opportunity?
Sorry if this is confusing... in other words, will this solve my "Noise" problem that I've had ever since I bought the machine in 2002?

  • WHERE TO BUY IMAC POWER  CORD in MIAMI?

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

I bought my speakers today from the US. I live in Bulgaria, and we have 220V instead of 110V and our plugs also have two round "sticks" instead of the flat vertical US ones (sorry, I'm a complete rookie - my dad would be so ashamed of me now).
Are the power cords the same for all models of speakers?
Are the power cords standard, meaning if I buy a standard cord (from a regular electrical shop) that adapts from 220V to 8V (the voltage of my speakers), will it work?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Where to buy a power adap

Is there any retail stores that sell the power adapter and extra battery for a zen micro? I dont have a credit card so online stores are not an option.

You know... I think most online retailers will take a money order. No other money orders are more trusted that us postal service money orders. That is if you are in the US.

  • Is there any power supply to the 550d camera ?

I want to connect my camera :
    1. To my car lighter place to get the power to my cam.
    2. To my laptop so the memory of the camera will be my laptop hard disk and not the memory card in the camera.
Any ideas where to buy the power supply ? And how to connect the camera to the laptop ?

The Canon ACK-E8 power adapter accessory allows the camera to operate off AC power (no battery needed), but this is for AC power sources... your car would provide DC power.
There are third party battery charges which can charge from DC power, but I am not aware of one which provides a way to directly power the camera from DC power.
The EOS Utility (this was on the software CD that would have been in the original packaging with the new camera) supports "tethered shooting".  This means you can connect the camera's supplied USB cable to the laptop, and the utility can remotely trigger the camera (and all images immediately import into the computer and are displayed.)  Apple's "Aperture" supports tethered shooting and I *think* Lightroom does as well (I'm not a Lightroom user.)

  • POWER SUPPLY FOR MY CANON

    Hi there everyone
I am looking forward to buy a power supply for my canon, do you know where I can find it or which one should I buy? Please recommend....thanks.

Hi bebefle_89! Every model of camera uses a different power supply, so we will need to know the exact model of your camera to be able to answer that question accurately, but for EOS cameras you can get them here for PowerShot cameras you can get them here.

  • Can't seem to find a power supply on the apple site

    Hi there,
Could someone direct to where I can buy a power supply for a 23" Aluminum Cinema Display? Mine unfortunately has passed away and I can't find that part on the apple site. Have a meeting at the Genius bar today but a friendly salesperson told me they don't have them in stock. He also didn't know the warranty so I figured maybe the "Genius" would know. The polite and wonderful apple telephone service woman couldn't really help either.
Regardless, I'd like to know what they cost just in case I have to end up buying one. My dead one is 15 months old.
    Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I find it very odd that you can't just order one. Regardless, the apple store is ordering one and should have it in a week or two. Fortunately I use two monitors so getting by should be simple. Also strange that they want the broken one back even though it's out of warranty and I'm paying (only $65) for a new one.
Considering what I now know about how difficult it is to get a power supply I'll probably never go to a 30" display because if the adapter broke on that, I could be out of business for days.
Search words to help others in my situation: Power Supply, Power Adapter, Dead Power Supply.
    Best,
    Ron

  • Burned Power Supply

    Hi guys,
I have iMac intel based 20" 2006 and the house that i'm staying now is very old and the electrical infrastructure is messed up.
I didn't have time to get a surge protector and my imac exploded
My warranty is off and my country (Cyprus) doesn't have a real Apple Store or associate.
Therefore I opened it up myself and I found out that the power supply has exploded. Hopefully no other damage was done.
Does anyone know where I can buy a power supply from the web? since it impossible from my country...

Hello KamiMark and welcome to Apple Discussions

  • Power Supply failure...

I just had a power surge that killed my powe supply for the for Linksys Compact Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54GCC.  I tried to live chat for help with Linksys but the rep disconnected me after waiting for about 30 minutes. (Sorry...not relevant info, but just me blowing off steam)
Anyhow, does anyone know if (and where) I can find a replacement for it?  Couldn't find anywhere on the Linksys site where you can order replacement parts.  Does this mean I'm SOL and just need to go an pick up a new router?

Hi guys, I had two of the power supplies fail on the WRT54g's at roughtly the same time. Mine both showed low voltage output (measured at about 1v). So I dutifully took them apart and found two of the capacitors tops were bulging. Apparently this was a common problem due to a bad batch of electrolytic capacitors produced around 2000 - 2002.
So anyway the two capacitors are a 450uf 16v and a 100uf 25v and cost the princely sum of 50p from Maplin or RS components. They are easy to remove and resolder. You'll need a soldering iron, and a multimeter would be a good idea to test the voltages before and after. You'll also need a big flat bladed screwdriver to prise open the case. Hey presto I now have two working wireless routers!!!
Drop me a line if you'd like to know more. You can always just buy another power supply for about £11 but where is the fun in that! Much more satisfying to repair the old one. If you do buy a new one make sure it is 5volts and can handle 2 Amps
    Cheers Andy

  • I have a 1st Gen Time Capsule 1tb. It turns on, boots up and turns green for 5-10 mins, but then turns solid orange and then blinks orange.  I have removed the hard drive and replaced the power supply . . . still the same problem.  Suggestions?

I purchased a used 1st Gen Time Capsule with a 1 tb hard drive.
When I plugged it in and did the initial setup, it worked fine, but gave me a hard drive error.  A few minutes later the green light turned solid orange, then blinking orange, then the status light went off.  The lights in back stayed on.
I removed the hard drive and rebooted, it turned green for 5-10 minutes then reverted back to a solid orange, blinking orange, then went off.
Next I purchased a remanufactured internal power supply, and installed it (without the hard drive in).  It turned green almost immediately.  After about 15-20 minutes, I decided to try to install the hard drive again, booted it up, and tried to erase the hard drive with was working properly according to the software.  It stopped erasing the disc after about 20 minutes and turned solid orange again, then blinking, then no status light  (but back lights were still lit).
I'm a bit flabbergasted at this point, any suggestions on what to do next?  I think i've pretty much replaced everything except the logic board, but can't seem to find any information on the symptoms of a logic board malfunction.
    Thanks!!!!!!!

A Gen3 is identical board to a Gen4 although they have some differences in firmware and wireless card was updated on every model.. but a Gen3 is substantially faster than Gen1, Gen2 which also have identical boards.
You can with careful shopping get a Gen3 pretty cheap.
Most use a delta power supply which I think is a lot better than the flextronics used in most Gen1/2
You can sell back the parts to ebay.. people still would buy the power supply etc. Even just the case can be useful to a repairer.
But if the board is gone.. it is hard to repair.. not impossible.. but hard.
Gen 3 and Gen 4 are not without faults.
    See this page.
    https://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/a-deconstruction-of-routers-and-modem s/apple-time-capsule-repair/new-issue-with-a1355-gen-3-tc
I have fixed it a different way.. by using the small converters you can buy in bulk from ebay for $1 each.. KIS3R33 .. they produce 3.3V at 2A peaking at 3A.. amazing.. I keep using them to replace onboard power converters by removing the inductor and simply power directly.. the end result has worked great. You can simply change the resistors around and get any output from 1v to 20v depending on input.
Is it worth doing it .. no of course not.. it will waste many more hours than $50 is worth.. but it is kind of fun that you can actually make things work again.
Here is a pic of the Gen 3 totally powered by me. All onboard power removed.
This was to track down the fault in the Gen3.. but I am kind of pleased that it ended up neat enough and reliable enough to work for more than a year.. the Gen3 still serves as a way to get Netflix via network for a friend running 24/7.
The units supply (from left to right)
    1v, 1.1v, 3.3v, 5v, 1.8v
It is feed by 12v supply which is also directly connected to the hard disk.
So it is possible to fix.. !! Only got to be a bit crazy.

  • Power supply or logic board failure

First time post, long time Mac user (since 1983). My older iMac G5 1.8 GHz Power PC (ALS) occasionally fails to start when I press the power button or the internal power button on the logic board. The only solution is to unplug/plug the external power cable where it meets the power supply housing (not at the outlet). None of the capacitors seem to be bulging on the logic board, LED1 always lights up, LED2-4 fail when there is a problem but are normal after unplug/plug routine. Noticed that there was no internal Lithium battery where one is supposed to be, but this has been the case for 5 years, so this is probably not the issue. I suspect the power supply. It's an old iMac with plenty of leg left and will be used as a second computer in the home. Any ideas? I don't have a volt meter, but am willing to get one if the test points are easy to get to (I'm not an electronics wizard).

Welcome To Discussions - If resetting the SMU, which is in effect what you are doing, solves the problem and the caps look ok, then the prime suspect would be the power supply unit. They are not expensive, check out [synaptech.com] for prices or[welovemacs.com] whcih will also give you instructions on how to replace it.
It would probably be a good idea to replace the battery it's CR2032 3 volt lithium button, easily obtainable at Radio Shack or similar places.

  • Are 2009/2011 iMac power supply compatible with mid2010 iMac?

I have a mid-2010 that doesn't turn on. None of the LEDs turn on and I've been troubleshooting for a couple weeks with no luck. I want to buy a power supply for the iMac but I'm not sure if others are compatible. I can't find one specifically for the 2010 one.
    Information:
    Mid-2010 21.5" iMac
    EMC 2389
    About 2.5-3 years old
    It doesn't turn on
None of the diagnostic LEDs are lit
Makes a small zzz noise every couple seconds when plugged in
    Suspected power supply failure

    Switching won't harm your machine.

  • Power Supply Issues maybe?

I have always had random and instant power downs. Which I initially attributed to heat. The machine is now shutting off instantly several times a day. It starts up and runs fine, but it is shutting down after anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours later. I am thinking it is a bad power supply that has gotten worse. I want to bounce this off the experts and see if there is anything else I can eliminate before buying a power supply?
I have reset the SMU I think. I could not find a button so I unplugged for 15 minutes. I ran AHT from cd without errors, ran disk utility from cd, and checked to see if the SMART status is verified. I use temperature monitor which has read as hot as 115, but according to what I am reading that is well below danger.
I did a safe restart to eliminate any font issues since I use a lot of fonts. I don't know what to look for in the console, but I saw nothing that looked suspicious. I am assuming since the AHT found no problems the logic board is functioning properly. Is that correct?
Can you suggest anything else to narrow down my issue?
Thanks for all your help. This machine is within a month of retirement, I think it senses something!

I have had exactly the same problem over the last couple of days and it drives you nuts! It started to happen just after I transferred some files to a mates cheap firewire drive....no idea why...
You can try actually pressing the SMU button

These two articles also take you through a good process, including deleting some prefs.

Also check all the bits inside are connected. The airport card can get loose in particular. Double check memory is pressed in etc.
I tried it all but to no avail until I read your post and tried Safe Restart. For some reason it dumped a load of files in my trash, but the issue seems to be gone (at least for now). I don't wanna detract from helping Kenny, but whilst peeps are looking if anyone can shed some light on what they are and whether I should bin them it would be good.
