You might find a better deal on eBay from a highly rated seller.
I've also had a good experience with this place, who might have it.
    http://www.cwioutlet.com/
They also have an eBay store. I checked out all the possibilities, including the one you were just given, and cwi was the best price-wise. For what I needed, same seller, the direct one linked above was less expensive than their eBay store.

  • HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC faulty cooling fan needs replacement.

My cooling fan recently started becoming very loud on it's lowest speeds and I suspect I will need to replace it soon before it goes out completely. My question is where can I find replacement cooling fans for this product? • Dv5-2129wm cooling fan issue

I am trying to find out what cooling fan I need for my Windows 7 Home Prem OA dv5-2129wm laptop.
I tried HP support and it was a waste of time, so I thought I would go where people know what they are doing... to the people who use them.
When I start my laptop it gives the error "the cooling fan is not working and your system must shut down" then it shuts down.  I don't use it often and am pretty disappointed with my HP at this point so hopefully someone can help me here. Unfortunately I am not very computer literate so go easy on me please.

    Hi,
Cooling fan is a hardware item/part of a computer which can run Windows 7 or other Windows. If you wish to replace it by yourself, you need part. The following link shows ALL parts for your computer. You can buy from the Part Store or use part # and search online stores including eBay:
        http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=XH007UA
Now, how do you replace part(s). The second manual of the following link shows you how:
        http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&lc=en&product=4308945
For the fan, you can start from page #80.
    Regards & Good luck.

  • G6 1c58ca laptop want to replace cooling fan and copper part

i have probelm with cooling fan being really loud and making way too much vibration that actually numbs my hands while using wireless keyboard on same desk. so, i have taken apart the laptop to clean the cooling fan area with compressed air, and assembled it again, and ran the laptop.
a littble improvement but still same problem.
so i came to comclusion that the hardware part itself is the problem and i want to replace it.
so my question is where can i find or buy the cooling fan and copper colored line that is connected to cooling fan?

looked at amazon but they only had coolingfan part not the copper colored line.

  • Cooling Fan issue

Hello there I will try and explain this whole story as best as I can. First off, I know my way around computers, I am going to school for them. Asking for help is a last stretch for me... but I need to learn when to ask for help inorder to learn from my mistakes. This laptop is a HP Pavillion DV7. List of replacement parts for this laptop can be found here.I have done as much research as I can on the issue.  So let me explain my situation. As a gamer, I know I stress out my laptop a lot. at 2.2ghz, it doesnt do much, but its 8mb L3 cache allows me to play quite a lot, not to mention what I gather from sources, my processor itself determines it should turboboost itself to 3.1ghz when it is under a heavy load. ( If this information is not true, then I will have to look into those sources again ) I have to admit, I do leave my computer on. I administrate gameservers and Teamspeak servers quite often, and gain access to the computers using the internet from my house to help fix the problems. I know I am not suppose to, but I leave it on so that I have the convience of looking into issues first hand and help the community owners as quickly as possible. I feel this is why I am having the issue I am. On Monday morning, a regular morning to wake up, first thing I do is check computer for any messages. The top left hand side of the computer is hot. Normal, since this is where the processor is in the laptop. The bottom part however never truely is. It got slightly warm, enough for me to take a notice. I turned computer off to let it rest so no problems had occured. a nice 30-45 minute rest. Laptop became room tempature at touch so I proceeded to turn it on. Upon doing so, I got a message  The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating correctly.Continued operation is not recommended and may cause unpredictable behavior that could result in random shutdown, data loss or possible system damage. The system will shut down in 15 seconds. To prevent shutdown and continue operation, press the Enter key now.System Fan (90b) I restarted computer, got same message. Proceeded to turn off laptop, then made sure AC power cord and adapter were working fine and plugged in. ( My Adapter block is normally hot, I think this is due to me leaving laptop plugged in all the time and never turning it off.) I restart once more, then head into BIOS. I check that the System Configurations are correct, Fan is automatically turned on, and I check BIOS logs for start up. All came up clear except the past 3 times. They stated part 090-B came up an error. This surely was the fan not being recognizes, as the start up told me. I go searching in the internet for replacement fan. This is the fan I have pruchased [ Replacement Fan ] and the thermal paste I purchased with it [ Thermal Paste ]. I rechecked with friends who work in computer stores for a living and they told me this was the correct part. So I decided I would wait. Today, I was told of an issue with the server, I log in to check the problem, get the error message for the fan. No biggie. I fix the issue within 5 minutes. My laptop was not on long enough to get hot. I get a message for an update today. I figured, sure; not a huge process needer, It will be fine. I let it update, and restart because I know it will need to finish applying them on restart. This time... the fan error did not display. I let the update patch in all 36,000 files. I restart after. I check the BIOS logs, It said no errors. I restart another 2 times to make sure I am not missing the message. There is none.  Whether or not my idea is wrong, I will still replace the cooling fan. My question is... Since the BIOS is responsible for how the computer starts, could the update possibly be the reason the error message no longer occurs? with 36,000 files patched, they could have easily been a driver fix and or a BIOS patch. They also could have been a simple security fix, but I have no way or knowing. I know it was 14 updates, and 36,000 files patched.  Could this at all have effected the error I was getting? Again, whether or not it could be the solution, I wil lstill replace the fan.  I ask for future reference of this knowledge. Could this be a simple mistake in the matter? Should I take into consideration of the update as a fix for the fan? Did it matter at all?

If the hard drive is making some noise, that is not a
good sign. It might mean that your hard drive is
about to have a hardware failure. I would make sure
to backup your important files to another hard drive
or to CDs. If you cannot get the hard drive replaced,
I suppose you could start using an external FireWire
hard drive. Of course, that may make your iBook much
    less portable.
How old is your iBook? Which model do you have? (What
is the processor speed? You can check in "About This
    Mac" in the Apple menu.)
    -Doug
My ibook is dual USB G3 500mhz, i bought it recently in a mint physical condition.
i have already ordered a 60gb HD with Tiger on it.
i have external USB hard drives .... i can backup there.
i am new to Mac... so i want to learn about Mac on this ibook and then i will sell it and buy a new one.
i am upgrading this ibook with tiger, 60gb HD, Ram = 640 and combo drive.
i was able to use D-link USB DWL-G122 adapter to connect to my wifi network
but later i could not... cuz when i install USB driver from Raltink web site..... after downloading and installing
i am getting error that mounting has failed .
what does this mean and how can i fix it.
is it possible that i back up everything including OS on external USB HD, Erase everything from HD in ibook and reinstall backup .... may be old files of previous user are conflicting.
Again Questio is >> that can i reinstall OS from Backup cuz i dont have any OS CD.
if it is possible, what is the procedure of backup , erasing HD and then reinstallin
    thanks for ur expertise help.

  • Chill Pads, or Cooling Fan Questions

I am looking for a chill pad, for those of you who know what that is...
First off, is this useful to even buy... all that I really know is that my laptop gets SUPER hot around the battery, and I figure that can't be good. So....
I am wondering is there are any chillpads, or cooling thingys specifically for my Macbook, and if so where can I find them? Should I just pick a generic one? I am lost on what I should be looking for, if I should get metal, or plastic...etc. There are so many options to choose, and I am clueless about this thing!
If you could shoot back some general information it would be greatly appreciated!

I tried a generic chillpad with cooling fans on my MacBook Pro, and I can say that, in my experience, it makes no difference between using that and placing it on a table top.
I currently use iLap (http://www.raindesigninc.com/ilap.html) and I find it better (in terms of comfort on my lap and using on desktop) than a chillpad. It's made of aluminum and because it slightly lifts the notebook from the table/lap, you don't feel the heat, especially when you do something that's processor-intensive.

  • Vaio E series - Cooling Fan noise

Hello, 2 weeks ago I bought Vaio E series.  I was very excited that I will have Vaio laptop. It was like my dream wish. According to our standard, we are poor country and the Vaio laptops are extremely expensive. But, Vaio laptops are know for high quallity laptops and great support from Sony. So, I bought it. I am very satisfied with the quality. But I have one problem. The cooling fan is making a lot of noise even the CPU usage its 10 %. I have the latest BIOS version. So, Sony I am expecting from you to release a new BIOS update fixing this issue.. I dont want to start thinking that I pay a lot of money only for the name. With that money I could buy a more powerful machine but I put my trust in Sony. The model number is Model # SVE17122CXB. PS. Don't say that I should go to service center because they can do nothing. I am an IT student and I know how this stuff works. And I dont  want the fact that the new laptop will be repaired. So the only solution is BIOS update. Sony, do not make me regret that I have chosen you before other brands.
I am expecting a positive feedback.

    t0n1,
Engineering came back saying that fan speed control is not supported on the SVE17 hardware so there is no way on this model to control the fan speed manually.  I apologize for suggesting this initially, at the time I did not have your exact model at my desk but instead I had a very similar one (SVE14A)
I also received two SVE17 notebooks and both have extremely quiet fan (especially if CPU usage is very low).  Loud fan noise is not a characteristic of this model.
If you feel that the fan on your SVE17 is abnormally loud, then you have two options at this point:
    1) You can make a audio/video recording of this fan noise and post it for me to review; after that i can try to give you more suggestions or let you know if this is in fact normal or not.  At this time you do not mention that your computer is shutting off, so the unit is not overheating.
    2) Or you can consider service.  (I realize you initially refused service in your original post, but sometimes some new thermal sheets or re-seating of the heat-sink can address these issues.

  • How many cooling fans are in 13" MacBook Pro retina?

I just got a late 2013 13" MacBook Pro with retina display and I'm wondering how many cooling fans are in the machine. I've noticed when I use iTunes to play music/movies or use the iTunes visualizer, it gets hot. I've seen the videos on the retinas and I've notived that the 15" model  has two and I can't find any videos or pictures indicating whether the 13" has one or two. I know that the openings on the side are to bring in air and then pushes it out where the screen and the keyboard meet. I notice a lot of hot air coming out more towards the right of the machine than the left. I had a mid 2012 non-retina Pro but I had it replaced as it had too many issues and I know when I used it, it didn't get as hot when I did this stuff. I'm just making sure in case it's an issue, even thought I got this new MacBook on Monday 6/9/14. I'm also guessing it heats up faster since its a smaller machine and the components are a lot closer. And I understand that playing games or doing something that requires a lot of processing or graphics power will cause the machine to heat up since it's requiring so much from the machine. Like I said, I want to avoid having issues with this one. My last MacBook had three logic boards, two hard drives, hard drive cable, hard drive bracket, and clam shell replaced in less than a year of purchase in September 2013. When the hard drive crashed last week for no apparent reason last week, I took it to Apple on Monday this week and they finally made the choice to replace it completely and I upgraded to a retina just by paying the difference.

This is my mac's info. I got it as a gift from australia. Initial 3 months it gave me a superb service, but recently it's having a major overheating issue,it shoots up up to 87 degrees. Is it possible that any other components are damaged somehow? Usually the temperature shoots up while I play online streamings.

  • Yosemite download issues related to cooling fan

I have spent over 10 hours on the phone with tech support, and 4 days attempting to resolve a download problem on my MBP.  After upgrading to Yosemite I attempted to update my primary software package for work and the download continues to stall during download.  Apple care told it was the Software's company's fault, the software company pointed me back to Apple.  Apple pointed me back to them and they pointed back to Apple - I just want what I have paid for to work as advertised.
Here is where I am at now:  I will begin the download and it will progress like normal, then the cooling fan comes on and the download with stop.  Several times the progress of the download, in percentage, actually shows to decrease - meaning it goes backwards somehow.  I cancel the download and restart the software the cooling fan stops, I restart the download and after a random amount of time the coolings fans start again and the download stalls.  I know that this sounds very unrelated but since I noticed this connection it has done it every time since and I have went through this process at least 12 times since first making the connection.
I have followed all of the steps from Apple's senior advisor in checking settings and troubleshooting.  She told me that it was the software's problem.  The software company tells me their servers are good and then shows me the mountain of reports from Yosemite users that are having similar issues.  Meanwhile I'm stuck with a $2500 dollar MBP and a $3000 software investment that I can't use for the purpose that I bought them.  When I told Apple care about the fan issue they inferred that I was crazy to think that the cooling fan could be connected - maybe I am.

It's not clear to me if this is an issue within the software package such as with a download feature within a particular software package or software distribution mechanism, or if this is something weird with OS X Yosemite that's causing a problem elsewhere that's effecting this download.
Who is the third-party vendor, and what is the package?  Is there a posting from the vendor pointing to the issue?
Has the third-party vendor plans to offer an alternative download path, which would seem reasonable for a case such as this with a "mountain of reports" involved?
Given your long discussion with the vendor and with Apple, have there been specific suggestions you've tried and found haven't worked?  Otherwise, we're just going to repeat some of those.
The cooling fan gets involved when something goes compute-bound or otherwise starts looping, either due to a design problem or due to a bug.  Adobe Flash Player tends to spool up the fans, for instance.

  • RADEON 9800 cooling fan

I have a RADEON 9800 Pro Mac Edition 256MB in my QuickSilver 2002 mounted in the AGP slot. The 9800 cooling fan is very loud (grinding sound) after a cold startup then gets quiet after it warms up. I have looked at third party cooling fans for this RADEON and I have found the Zalman v700cu and the Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 1, Rev. 2 that seem to be compatible. From the images of these two coolers it looks like the two mounting screws that project out the back of the garphic card are very close to the lower memory slot in my QuickSilver. I don't use the PCI slot next to the AGP slot so I know the coolers will be OK there.
My question is, has anyone actually tried one of these coolers in a QuickSilver 2002 and is there enough clearance between the mounting posts on the cooler and the memory card to prevent them from touching?

ATI fans are notoriously bad (read that as cheap). You will know the fan is going bad when you hear a loud whine or grinding noise after a cold startup or during heavy use. The fan went bad on my 9800 Pro 256 after just 5 months. I had to send the card to ATI for repair - nearly 3 weeks to get the card back. The replacement ATI fan started making noise after another 90 days. I can't see doing this on a regular schedule for the three year warranty term so I replaced the stock fan with an Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 1, Rev. 2. It's easy to install. So quiet that I can't hear it run and my computer case and power supply fans run slower and with less noise than ever before due to the Arctic fan venting warm air out of the computer.
The Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 1, Rev. 2 installed perfectly with no modifications and minimal effort. It has a 6 year warranty. I consider this modification the best thing you can do to protect the $250 (or whatever you pay) investment you make with the RADEON card. It's better than waiting for the stock fan to fail and cause your 9800 to melt down. Technically installing the Arctic fan voids the ATI warranty but I believe I could reinstall the old stock fan if the card needs other warranty repairs without anyone noticing the switch was ever made.
So your answers are yes and yes although I never had the monitor problem you describe. The ATI card is a good choice - keep it then download and install the latest drivers from the ATI/AMD web site and do yourself a favor and buy an Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer model for your card. Install it when you start to hear the stock fan going bad. You will be glad you did.
PS - many thanks to FangSuede for his excellent advice given to me.
