Where to call to report service outages?

Its been several hours now, where I have not had 4G, 3G, or 1x data at home, where I have had it at full 'bars'  for years.. (4G for a week or so).   I have reset the phone, and no improvement.  Where do I call to report the system outage?
This reminds me of the "other" service provider who lost the whole city of Lincoln Nebraska for the better part of a day.. I hope that this is not the case here!

  • How/where to report service outage?

    I have searched this site and can not find a place to report service outage. My service has been out for over a day, where can i report it?

    I appreciate your response.  To address your points about ways to report outages, we are in Reston and had no cell phone or FiOS phone service that day, and I don't know where any other phones are near us that I could use.  I don't know how to use twitter or Facebook to report problems, but now that you mention those as possibilities I could figure that out.
    My main point wasn't really that specific incident, however.  That incident showed me that Verizon could provide a better system for handling general outages.  What people want in cases like this is information; most of us understand that sometimes there will be large outages. It helps us to know that you know about the outage, and it also would help to have an idea what is being done about it.
    Having that information online, with each subscriber able to add their outage information, would go a long way towards addressing this.  You would then have a logical place to report on your efforts to repair outages.  All of this could require less time for your support staff since this reporting system could be mostly automated.  It would also help, then, when one person has a problem to see if others also have a problem (OK, just add my ino to the website and wait) or if they're the only one (OK, contact support.)

  • FIM Reporting installation (where to put SQL Reporting Services?)

    Hi,
    I'm installing FIM 2010 R2 SP1 with Reporting feature.
    It is going to be installation with separate SQL and separate servers for SCSM DW and SCSM MS.
    I have SQL where I prepared 3 instances (default one for FIM databases, one for SCSM SM databases, one for SCSM DW databases). My question is - which one of them should have SQL Reporting services installed?
    Borys Majewski, Identity Management Solutions Architect (Blog: IDArchitect.NET)

    When using SCSM 2012 (SP1) you also have to install the analytic services on the instances. I can't remember exactly if it was on the DW or MS, but it would tell you during the installation of it.
    And make sure your FIM version is at leat 4.1.3451, I went through a lot of pain with version 4.1.3419 en the

  • Calling Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery possible?

    Hi,
    is it possible to call the Reporting Services Web Service with jQuery? If yes, can someone post me a small example?
    Background:
    My plan is to create a html with a form which is also uploaded then into the reportserver. I open this html later by clicking a link in a report (with gotoURL open.window). The report opens the html inclusive the overtaken of some additional parameters
    (reportname, reportdescription). These parameters I will use in the html-form as defaultvalues for the corresponding input-text-fields. Now the user can make some changes (i.e. the decription). With a click on a button I will send the new description to
    the Reporting Services Web Service by using the SetProperties method, closing the html-window and reload the report. Important is that I want to upload the html also into the reportserver itself.
    I have already found how to consume a web service via jQuery but with the Reporting Services Web Service I did not get it running in my tests.
    I have referenced to the following jQuery.js: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.7.1/jquery.min.js
    Here you can see my tests I made with the results:
    $.ajax({
    type: 'POST',
    url: 'http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx/ListChildren',
    data: {'ItemPath':'/','Recursive':false},
    complete: function(xData, status) {
    $('p').html($(xData.responseXML).text()); // result
    $("#divStatus").text( status ); // status }
    I got a NULL response with Status success. But where are the items?
    Another test which should response only one value was that:
    $.ajax({
    type: "POST",
    contentType: "text/xml; charset=utf-8",
    url: "http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx/GetItemType",
    data: {"Item":"/Development"}, // Development is a Folder in my Reportserver-Root
    dataType: "xml",
    success: function (msg) {
    $("#divResult").html(msg.responseXML);
    error: function (data, status, error) {
    $("#divResult").html("WebSerivce unreachable<br> <br>" + data.responseXML + "<br> <br>(" + error + ")");
    Here I got an [object Error]
    And here my last test:
    var soapMessage = '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>\
    <soap:Envelope \
    xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" \
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" \
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">\
    <soap:Body>\
    <GetItemType xmlns="http://www.microsoft.com/sql/ReportingServer">\
    <ItemPath>/Development</ItemPath>\
    </GetItemType>\
    </soap:Body>\
    </soap:Envelope>';
    $.ajax({
    type: "POST",
    contentType: "text/xml; charset=utf-8",
    url: http://<..>/ReportServer/ReportService2010.asmx?wsdl,
    data: soapMessage,
    dataType: "xml",
    success: processSuccess,
    error: processError
    function processSuccess(data, status, req) {
    if (status == "success")
    $("#response").text($(req.responseXML).find("Type").text());
    function processError(data, status, req) {
    alert(req.responseText + " " + status);
    Here I got an "Undefined error"
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

  • Reporting Services Add-in for Sharepoint- does it need an SQL Server license?

    In a new project we will be creating an SSRS in Sharepoint integrated mode. For this we'll need SQL Server and Sharepoint on that box.
    We'll also have one or more SharePoint Web Front End (WFE) servers. To allow them to connect to the SSRS-in-sharepoint-mode box, and to present the user with the right user interface for doing so, I believe we can install the Reporting Services Add-In for
    Sharepoint on the WFE servers.
    The question is, do we need to have  SQL Server license for each WFE server where we use the Reporting Services Add-In, or is it free to use?
    We've had advice that we need to buy a SQL Server license everywhere we use the add-in, but I am not sure this is correct.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

    Hello there,
    The Reporting service Add-in for SharePoint can be downloaded free on Microsoft Download site. That means it does not need any license on the add-in.

  • Report-Service is not available: REP-110 und REP-1070

    Hello,
    I get the following errors after new configuration for Froms, Reports and Discoverer (11.1.1.6):
    FRM-41214: Unable to run report
    Or:
    REP-110: File 01RD_MARG_04E. cannot be opened.
    REP-1070: An error occurred while opening or saving a document.
    The Report-Server is in Running state, but Report-Service is not available.
    How can I isolate the error position?
    Thanks in advance,

    Just out of curiosity, what did you change in opmn.xml?
    Oh, I see in the doc now. That the same thing can be inserted in opmn.xml. But I have never seen
    that done in any production environment I have encounterd.
    I find that document a little bit strange, to be honest. Is that really the way to configure the Reports Service?
    It is so very strange that they do not mention the env-id possibility in the rwserver.conf file.
    The REPORTS_PATH is gotten from either registry, that is, the default for the host if you so like, or envid in the call to reports service via the URL as a parameter, ie. &envid=test. That envid can also hold
    variables like NLS_LANG and such.
    I regard the opmn files as do-not-touch and part of the WLS system structure.
    I seldom touch the reports.bat-file. But maybe that was necessary in this case. I do not know.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services Add-In for SharePoint not installing properly

    Environment: Windows Server 2008R2, SQL Server 2012, SharePoint 2013 Enterprise
    When I run the install for SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint it SHOULD install to c:\program files\common files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14 AND 15. Specifically it should drop a mess of ASPx pages for admin to the \templates\Admin\ReportServer
    folder. In this environment it only pushes them to the 14 folder and not the 15. Any ideas on why this would happen? I have not ever seen this before and it is hosing the install completely.

    Hi Gouranga,
    According to your description, when you install the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint 2013, you find the files are installed into the folder for sharepoint 2010(..../14). Right?
    In Reporting Services, Not all features are supported in all combinations of report server, Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint, and SharePoint Products. Please see the linke below:
    Supported Combinations of SharePoint and Reporting Services Server and Add-in (SQL Server 2012)
    As you can see in the link, the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in is only for Sharepoint 2010. This the reason why it's installed into the file for sharepoint 2010.

  • Reporting Services 2012 - "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded"

    Running SharePoint 2010 SP1 (Feb-Mar 2012 CU)
    Is there any official word from Microsoft regarding the issue with SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 for SharePoint where 2 of the reporting service application databases show "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded".
    ReportingServiceDB  -  Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded
    ReportingServiceDB_Alerting  -  Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded
    I'm building the new Reporting Services into a new DEV environment and I'd like to know what the official word is from Microsoft.  Is Reporting Services 2012 ready for production?
    Thanks!

    Hi mikea730,
    Thanks for your psot.
    Based on my research, I found a similar thread about this issue at Microsoft Contect site. For more information, please see:

  • SQL Server Reporting Service 2008 R2 - The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized.

    I got the error "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized." when I call the Reporting Service Web Service.
    The code is very simple:
    // Initialise the reporting service Web Service
    this.RSWebService = new ReportingService2010();
    // Pass windos authentication credentials to Web Service
    this.RSWebService.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;
    // List children
    List<CatalogItem> reports = this.RSWebService.ListChildren(folder, false).ToList();
    The SQL Server is installed on a different machine (say server A) from the Web server (say server B). We are using Windows Server 2003.
    The code work fine for all the scenario below:
    i) Run locally (XP) to call the web service on the sql server
    ii) Provide the Network Credentials with the username, password, and domain when calling the web service
    iii) If the web server and sql server is using same server (i.e. not distributed)
    I'm using windows authentication and impersonation. Any idea?

    Hi Raymond,
    If I understand correctly, the issue only happens in the environment that the web server is different with the SQL Server Reporting Services server. This means the web server is a remote server of the Report Server. Windows Integrated authentication is used
    in this case. When running the web page, the 401 error occurs.
    If so, it is actually a double hop issue. The double-hop problem will usually only be an issue to those of you who write some sort of web-based code (a web application or web service) that uses impersonation.
    To fix the issue, we can configure kerberos authentication for the web application and the SQL Server Reporting Services.
    Below is a great article that has delivered many solutions to fix the issue you met:
    http://odetocode.com/articles/216.aspx
    Additionally, you can read the following article to know more about double-hop:

    Thanks Jin. I believe this is the cause of the problem as well.
    I tried to register the SPN but unfortunately it still doesn't work. I'm not sure whether I'm using the correct SPN name.
    I have 3 reporting server instance on the SQL box. So the Web Service URL is like
    http://Server:80/VirtualDirectoryDev,
    http://Server:80/VirtualDirectoryTest  and
    http://Server:80/VirtualDirectoryStaging .
    What's the SPN I need to register?
    I tried
    Setspn -a http/Server:80/VirtualDirectoryDev domain\account
    and
    Setspn -a http/aerver:80 domain\account.
    But both of them are not working :(

  • Calling a Web Service in a SSRS Report - Error Converting String to Generic List of Strings

    Hello,
    I am using SSRS version 2005 and am trying to call a web service to retrieve data for a SSRS report.  I've looked on Google and MSDN for the past 2 days and have exhausted all options.  Here are the details...
    The web service method I am calling accepts 4 parameters...
    Parameter 1 = Generic list of strings
    Parameter 2 = DateTime
    Parameter 3 = Int
    Parameter 4 = Int
    I have created a function (on the CODE tab in report properties) in my report that gets passed a comma delimited string and returns a Generic List of Strings that I use to format Parameter 1.  The code for the function is as follows:
    Public Function GetIDs(ByVal IDList as String) As List(Of String)
       Dim stringArray() = IDList.Split(",")
       Dim genericList As New List(Of String)(stringArray)
       Return genericList
    End Function
    I am passing a string to the function that looks something like this:
    "1,2,3,4"
    When I try to PREVIEW the report, I get an error that reads:
    "There is an error on line 0 of custom code: [BC30002] Type 'List' is not defined"
    I've tried changing the function declaration to pass back a string array:
    Public Function GetIDs(ByVal IDList as String) As String()
        Return IDList.Split(","c)
    End Function
    This returned the error (from the web service):
    "Error in line 5 position 22.  Expecting state 'Element'.. Encountered 'Text' with name ", namespace"
    I have also tried changing the function declaration to pass back an array:
    Public Function GetIDs(ByVal IDList as String) As ARRAY
    This also produced the error:
    "Error in line 5 position 22.  Expecting state 'Element'.. Encountered 'Text' with name ", namespace"
    I know that this particular web service method DOES work because it is coded to accept nulls in the first parameter.  So... when I call the method with nulls, it returns a recordset of ALL data (this works fine).  Only when I pass a string to the function (which "filters" the recordset by the ID list), does the error occur.
    Is SRSS limited with respect to VB.NET code so that the List(Of String) statement is not recognized?  Has anyone done this before and if so, how did you convert a comma delimited string to a Generic List of Strings within a function in the SSRS report?
    Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Bob

    Hi Bob,
    By default, in custom code, in order to use a variable or function that is not in the "System" namespace, we need to provide the full name.
    In this case, the full name of the "List" is "System.Collections.Generic.List"
    So, to solve the issue, please use the following code:
    Public Function GetIDs(ByVal IDList as String) As System.Collections.Generic.List(Of String)
    Dim stringArray() = IDList.Split(",")
    Dim genericList As New System.Collections.Generic.List(Of String)(stringArray)
    Return genericList
    End Function
    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,
    Jin Chen

  • Can I call a report in Reports 6i from Forms Services 10g?

    Hi there,
    I was wondering if I could call a report in Reports 6i from my application in Forms Services 10g. If so, how could I do it?
    Thanks!

    In Forms 6i you probably did use RUN_PRODUCT to call reports. In 9i onwards you should use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT instead.
    See http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10g/frm10gsrw10g.pdf
    Note that you should be able to run RDF files without any conversion.
