Where to D/L latest img Linux source code tree (2.6.27.29)

I want to include a specific driver in my initrd, but in order to do so, I must first compile it using the proper kernel. I'm trying to find the kernel files (rpm I guess?) for the kernel used by the latest imaging ISO (2.6.27.29-0.1-default) but I can't find them anywhere.
The doc for updating initrd in ZDM7 (Novell Documentation) gives a link to "linux-2.6.16.46-0.12-pulsar.tgz Linux source code tree file", which is outdated by now. I did find this: NOVELL: Downloads - Linux kernel 20090817 , but I'm not sure it's the right thing and unlike the previous link, apparently you need special permissions to download this one.
Any idea where to find the latest files?

    Hi all,
I believe under the GPL, Oracle should provide the source code of the Unbreakable Linux, even if it removes only RedHat trade mark and logo. Does anyone know where we can download it? If Oracle does not provide the source code, does it breaks the GPL?

  • Where to download Java EE 5 sdk source code?

For which specific Java EE packages are you interested in seeing the source code? I don't think I will bother replying if your answer is "All of them".
Why not? For Java SE SDK, src.jar is easy attachment for everything.Who has the rights for source code the classes in the Sun Java SE SDK distribution?on my system, the right are for me of course! This is very easy procedure. I use code in Eclipse, step into say String. Now Eclipse asks me.. where is source? I navigate to JDK install dir and attach src.jar. I no need special rights for this... simple click and source is there for me... (only sun.* packages, you need make extra download).
    >
Why we not can have easy source attachment for the Java EE SDK?JEE is a spec. The Sun JEE SDK is a reference implementation (glassfish).I know SPEC... so maybe we have two src jars here. One with public interface, other with API implement. This no problem... okay, maybe I wrong in post earlier. Not 1, but then 2 src attachment jars is okay!
Who has the rights for the source code for the Sun JEE SDK distribution?this is same thing. on my system, I am developer, I have rights to attach. I JDK implementation of my is SUN (Glassfish), I navigate to Glassfish install dir. If it is JBoss AS, I navigate to that... this is no problem, but is problem when src is simply not there...

  • Where can I get ahold of the source behind the standard classes?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can access the source that lies beneath the standard java classes.
    At

One of the messages referring to the JToolBar class seems to indicate that the person posting the message is discussing the source(!) for BasicToolBarUI. A portion of the message is included below. I would like to know where I can get ahold of the source code for this and all the other standard java classes...

  • Printer source code.

Where do I go to get the source code used for the printer? I know the Photosmart Premium c309g-m and others run Linux and other open source software, but I cannot find where the source is.

Do you mean the source code for Linux drivers?  The HP Linux Imaging and Printing Site has drivers for 2000+ HP printers and may have the information you are looking for.
If you are looking for the source code for the actual printer firmware - that is not written using open source tools and the code is proprietary.

  • Sun.* packeges source code

Kindly can somebody tell me where from i can down load the source code of sun.*(sun.misc.ProxyGenerator) packages that are being used in JDK classes. kindly tell me.

Why Developers Should Not Write Programs That Call 'sun' Packages
The classes that Sun includes with the Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition, fall into package groups java.*, javax.*, org.* and sun.*. All but the sun.* packages are a standard part of the Java platform and will be supported into the future. In general, packages such as sun.*, that are outside of the Java platform, can be different across OS platforms (Solaris, Windows, Linux, Macintosh, etc.) and can change at any time without notice with SDK versions (1.2, 1.2.1, 1.2.3, etc). Programs that contain direct calls to the sun.* packages are not 100% Pure Java. In other words:
The java.*, javax.* and org.* packages documented in the Java 2 Platform Standard Edition API Specification make up the official, supported, public interface.
If a Java program directly calls only API in these packages, it will operate on all Java-compatible platforms, regardless of the underlying OS platform.
The sun.* packages are not part of the supported, public interface.
A Java program that directly calls into sun.* packages is not guaranteed to work on all Java-compatible platforms. In fact, such a program is not guaranteed to work even in future versions on the same platform.
For these reasons, there is no documentation available for the sun.* classes. Platform-independence is one of the great advantages of developing in the Java programming language. Furthermore, Sun and our licensees of Java technology are committed to maintaining backward compatibility of the APIs for future versions of the Java platform. (Except for code that relies on serious bugs that we later fix.) This means that once your program is written, the class files will work in future releases.
Each company that implements the Java platform will do so in their own private way. The classes in sun.* are present in the SDK to support the Sun implementation of the Java platform: the sun.* classes are what make the Java platform classes work "under the covers" for the Sun Java 2 SDK. These classes will not in general be present on another vendor's Java platform. If your Java program asks for a class "sun.package.Foo" by name, it may fail with ClassNotFoundError, and you will have lost a major advantage of developing in Java.
Technically, nothing prevents your program from calling into sun.* by name. From one release to another, these classes may be removed, or they may be moved from one package to another, and it's fairly likely that their interface (method names and signatures) will change. (From the Sun point of view, since we are committed to maintaining the Java platform, we need to be able to change sun.* to refine and enhance the platform.) In this case, even if you are willing to run only on the Sun implementation, you run the risk of a new version of the implementation breaking your program.
In general, writing java programs that rely on sun.* is risky: they are not portable, and are not supported.

  • How to generate Flow Chart from Program Source Code easily and automatically.

It is very crucial to have a clear mind when faced with abstract codes for software engineers and program developers. As always, the programmers have had an overall structure in your mind and then process the design with source code.  The structure can somehow be so complex that it becomes hard to cope with gradually. More often than not, you will get stuck when you process to some extent. However, codes can’t speak and present themselves in a straightforward way. You are eager to find out a straightforward layout to transfer those abstract codes to visible flowchart, aren’t you? Do you know there's code to flowchart software tools online? This tool can help you make a flowchart from source code automatically, here I will introduce you a great code to flowchart converter software.
Code Flowchart Creator is professional source code to flowchart software tool. This software is designed for programmers or document writers, and its main function is to generate flow chart from source code such as C, C++, VC++ (Visual C++ .NET) and Delphi (Object Pascal) programming files. It helps users to understand complex program structures by visual diagrams. When users are editing the source code, it can make a flowchart or NS chart according to that code, the source code will be analyzed to build a visible flowchart that can help users get familiar with the process of the program.  The created flowchart can be exported as Visio/Word/BMP files. And it works well on all Windows OS, especially on Windows 7.
Below is simple guide on how to use the Flowchart Converter. Step 1: Free download the setup file on official website: http://www.flowchart-creator.com Step 2: Install it on PC and startup the Flowchart Creator Step 3: Open a source code file and it will automatically generate the Flow Chart on right Window. Actually, the Flowchart Creator is very easy to use even without any experience. If you want to get more details and advanced setting, please visit the website to get tech info and support.         Moreover, it also provides users with browsing and navigation functions. Those functions will facilitate the process of programmer and come to great help to both senior and junior programmers. The generated flowchart can be used to review source code. It will help examine the whole process of a program and check where errors exist when users are verifying source codes. You will never be worried about the complex program structure with the powerful code to flowchart creator tool.

    Dear Chuck,
I have used Google and other search engines intensively since years. What I need (and this is why I've opened this thread actually) is a suggestion for a product from someone that has already used it. That could also save me time instead of searching, installing, trying, and eventually deinstalling at random. After all, the forum should allow to exchange knowledge and experience with people having similar interests.

  • Need to view source code for API classes

Any tips on where to find the .java files or source code for Java 2 5.0 classes?
With Java being open source, you'd think that it woud be easy to find this. But I've tried doing a few searches but te results haven't been helpful.
    Cheers!

Yeah I think I found it. Unfortunately there's a problem with downloading from Sun at the moment; fatal exceptions on every attempt.
Wait and try later, I guess.

  • Where does the source code of linux reside in arch

Just wonder where is the source code. In freebsd, all the source code is in /usr/src, does arch have that directory? or do I need to install something to get source code?

tomk wrote:Arch does not install the source code for anything. Under /usr/src/linux-2.6.17-ARCH, you will find the kernel headers required for building other apps, but apart from that, if you want the source code for the kernel or any of the apps, you need to get it from the relevant website/ftp server/etc e.g. kernel.org for kernel source.
no, those headers in there are for kernel modules only. the headers for applications are a sanitised copy based on 2.6.12 and exist in /usr/include/linux.
As for the source to Arch packages, we have something similar to fbsd's ports system (ports is on fbsd isnt it or am I wrong), it's called abs:

  • Where can I get an additional power source for my MacBook Pro?

I am travelling to Europe next week and will be travelling on the road quite often. I would like to get some work done during that time. My laptop battery will inevitably run out of power during that time and I would like to carry an additional power source with me so I can get some extra juice when I am nowhere near an outlet.
I have the latest MacBook Pro where the battery is not removable.
Where can I get an additional power source for my MacBook Pro? I don't mind if it is a 3rd party product.

you could get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-XP18000-Universal-External-Netbooks/dp/B002K8M9H C
it's about the same cost as an extra battery used to be. there's a range of similiar products at Amazon, i'd check reviews.

  • Where can I see Controller source code

    Hello all,
My question might be stupid for some ADF gurus, however many people we found that R12 Pages have lots of code and there is not too much documentation about how to customise a controller.
    1. I can see the *.class of my controller in the $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/ar/cusstd/createcus/webui/ArCreCusCO.class on my server, BUT I only see all the code encrypted when I open JDeveloper. So I guess I am doing all wrong.
    2. I want to change ArCreCusCO.class. I see many people say hey I customised XYZ controller but how they found the code and proceed to change it is the least of my headaches
    3. Do I need to configure something in JDeveloper so that I can see the server classes to my JDeveloper is this what they do, if so how you do it ????
    4. I saw something in the Help page saying Adding components to the OA Extension what the heck is this ???
Thanks for illuminating some newbie in ADF.
With the new Java philosophy some of 12 years experience developers we are starting from scratch due to this new architecture.
    Hector.-
p.s. Any input will be taken, however don't make reference to the Oracle Tutorial, this is a piece of cake example I need some Hands-On example ;-)

    hi hbono99
1.) as u can c .class in java top ,that is compiled code as source code is not delievered by oracle,so u need to decompile this ".class" file to see the source code,JAD decompiler version 1.5.8 will be latest .although it would be useful to see the source code ,but sometimes decompiled class create problems when try to compile again.
2.) u can make changes in the ArCreCusCO.class after decompiling that and compile again the same to generate the class file ,bcz u can put only class file on the server,BUT this would be lethal to change the standard class, and from here concept of Extension come into the picture ,u need to extend this class."customised XYZ " means the extesion of the parent class, and to do the extension u dont dont need the source .
3.) u cant see the source code of a .class in Jdeveloper ,there is no such type of setting.
4.) To extend the ArCreCusCO.class,u need to create a workspace followed by creation of a project with in the workspace in Jdeveloper
    process to extend the class
    a.)create wokspace and project
b.) create the same package in which the ArCreCusCO.class is residing ,under the \jdev\myprojects\ in your Jdeveloper
c.) right click on project ,go to create new class, here u will find the option to metion the package where u want to put the extended class(normal package starts with xx.oracle.----) plus option to mention the classs nmae u want to extend
d.) click ok at last ,u will get your extended class
e.) source code generaly has two methods processRequest and ProcessFormRequest ,u can add the code according to the requirement .
extension works bcz inside both the method it calls super ,so first it executes all the methods the parent class in your case ArCreCusCO.class and then control comes to extended class, now your code will get executed ,which will accomliseh your requirement
f.)tranaser the class file of extended file to server , to add this extended class with seeded page u need personalize the page ,there u will find the option to add your class ,u mention your class with compete package (the way as we import the file with their package names in our source code, here import is not required)
    thanx
