No support for downloading Creative Suite 5 Design Premium?

I downloaded a trial version of v5 last year january. I subsequently purchased an educational version as faculty/staff and applied my license to the trial version.
Fast forward to the present. My old laptop has been scrapped and I am told I am entitled to install the software on up to 2 computers. However, there is no link available (Adobe is on version 5.5; a dot upgrade rather than a full version), no mirror, nor any support for helping me get the media (e.g. shipping install media).
Adobe's solution is for me to buy the full version of 5.5 (no upgrade path).
Seriously? No dowloadable links for in-release? There's no version-controlled distribution for licensed customers? No offer of support other than a retail pitch to "net new" a product license I own?
Appalling experience. Off to the secondary market and thanks for nothing.

I was able to locate the media but I had specifically purchased them extra
for this exact contingency. I had downloaded the software and provided a
serial number. I received no response from the provider.
Nonetheless, I am disappointed with the model. I appreciate that support
for products needs to have an end of life but products within a Dot release
should be supported by the vendor and I think that's valuable customer
feedback. End of story.

Trying to install Creative Suite 5 design premium onto a mac retina and when i try to open the installer it says " install can't be opened. you should eject the disk image."

I get this every time i try to open the installer. I went to the tech support desk at my university and they spent an hour and a half going through these procedures with no result:
Disabled GateKeeper
Repaired permissions and verified startup disk
Fully updated OS 10.8.5
Downloaded same image multiple times-same issue
Cleared hard drive space from 4.5GB available to 26GB available

Hi Rich,
The cause of this can be multiple. First of all be sure you use the original CD + serial. In case of a download same story. Try to find out if the installed version match the language of the serial (they need to match). Last but not least: Check if you use a upgrade version, if so it might be needed to fill 2 serials.

Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium trial version says my serial number is invalid?

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium from my my community college's bookstore in 2010. I successfully have used it all this time, but I recently bought a new laptop. This new laptop does not have a disk drive, but I was able to download the trial version of it online. It downloaded great, and I have been using the trial version, but the trial is up in one week. I deactivated my serial number on my old laptop, and then tried to enter it onto my new laptop, but the error message keeps saying "Incorrect Serial Number": "The serial number you entered is not valid." However, the serial number is definitely valid, and I spoke with Adobe and they just checked and were able to see that I do have an activation available for this serial number. Why won't it accept it?
Side Notes:
The licensing is Student Licensing
I downloaded the correct creative suite (Creative Suite 4 Design Premium)
I typed in the serial number correctly and checked multiple times
I cannot afford to purchase an updated version nor Adobe Creative Cloud at this time

Same thing happened to me, except I lost disk 2 and was told to go to the forums.. Seems Adobe isn't too great on their customer service or fixing issues. The problem I was told, was that we have "Student" serials and the one from the download isnt a student version.

I recently uninstalled Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium from my old computer (Design Premium CS5 & Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro components) so that I can put it on my new computer (Windows 7 Home Premium).
At first I forgot to uninstall Acrobat and tried to reinstall on my new computer at which an error message came up, hence I realised my mistake.
Now that all components have been uninstalled, after installation on my new computer I get the below error message appear:

I have Adobe Creative Suite 5 "Design Premium" for Mac. It was purchased and downloaded ~Nov 2010. However, it appears that I never downloaded Adobe Acrobat, which looks like it's on a separate disk. Long story ... but am only starting to use this software now after 2 years! Anyhow, I'm wondering if I can safely download this disk at this point? Also, I see that there is a number of updates which I should be installing, so wondering if I should hold off on those until after Acobat is downloaded? I did get a serial number from the install of the the other Adobe software included in Creative Suite 5.
