Where to download Lion 10.7?

I have 10.6.8. I have been searching places to download 10.7 lion. But it turns out as 10.7.5, and also says I need 10.7.
Is there any way besides calling apple? I need to know.

Unless you happen to find a 10.7 USB installer for sale, which will in all probability be far more expensive than getting a download code for it through Apple, no.

  • Where to download lion 10.7, where to download lion 10.7

    i am having 10.6.8
some days ago i am having 10.7.5 due to some circumstances i have to reinstall os from my software reinstallation disk.
my mac doesnt support mountain lion so i want to download lion 10.7 but i have searched every where on google and unfortunately i didnt get it.
please give me some link or suggest some ways that i can download lion.

If you already purchased and downloaded Lion from the Mac App Store before, then you should be able to login to the App Store again, and go to the list of Your "Purchased" items.  Lion will be there for you to redownload again for Free.
    Hope this helps

  • Where is Mt. Lion download saved to?

I just downloaded 10.8.5 but can't find it anywhere..not in the applications folder and not by using SpotLight...
Download took all night and I was greeted this morning with a big mt. lion face and a continue button; all I want is the download of 10.8.5 for re-install purposes.
Any clues as to where the download would be are greatly appreciated!

    Hi, Ralph
There was no install/restart. I know because I had a chat window open and there was no such activity shown..I just had a "continue" button on that screen where you see the mountain lion face. I'd already used the 10.8.5 updater, so I was up to date.
I like to download Mt. Lion after every combo updater in case I need to re-install the OS..must be same version as currently running.
I have the tools to make the bootable installer, thank you for that tip. I just need to find where the download went to, if it's still there..
    thank you!

  • Where is the Lion OS download link?

Just bought iMac.  It came with Snow Leopard.  It is supposed to let me download Lion for free.  But I cannot find a link on the website.  Not the $29.99 link button since I am not supposed to pay.  I can find downloads for many add ins, but not for Lion O/S

For the sake of completeness and in the spirit of giving back (thanks to those who posted help above):
problem solved.  They really do need your credit card information and it has to match up to your iTunes account card before you can download Lion.  Also, they will generate a very long code and then you have to enter that code into another window. Pretty cumbersome.  And now I am waiting for the Lion download to finish.  I see comments from others that this is taking a very long time for them and it is for me.  I understand that this is a new method for Apple to deliver downloads of its software.  Looks like Apple servers are not able to support this approach at this time.
At one point in the process they will ask you the place of purchase and right under that the city.  The place of purchase is who sold it to you and if it was the Apple Online Store you should enter Apple.com.  The example they show is XYZ company.  That is not supposed to be the company you work for, but the location of the seller. The next line down is the City.  You might think from the context that this is the City of the seller, but IT IS NOT. It is the city where you live.  Apple should clarify that.  A feedback to Apple for what its worth:
Seems redundant to ask for the seller name and the buyer city since they also already have your credit card, the serial number of your device, your apple account ID, your name, your email address, Etc.  Sure does not convey that Apple is sensitive to privacy issues.

  • I downloaded lion but lost the setup assistant.  please help me recover the setup assistance.  i do not know where/how to find/enter information in the terminal.

i downloaded lion but lost the setup assistant.  please help me recover the setup assistant.  i do not know where/how to find/enter information in the terminal as was suggested.

Launch the Terminal application; e.g., by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search.   Copy or drag -- do not type -- the line below into the Terminal window, then press return:
    sudo rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. Confirm.
Reboot. The Setup Assistant will launch.

  • Where can i go to download Lion for my IMAC?

I just spoke to a Rep.  Told me because of the age of my IMac that Lion is the only OS i can download.  But i can't find Lion in the Mac Staoe.  Where do I go?

    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

Expanding on this, you get an e-mail containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac Apple Store to download Lion. Do save a copy of that installer because the, IMO, poorly designed app deletes itself as part of its installation process, necessitating wasting resources DLing it again if you need to reinstall or restore the OS.

  • Where is OSX Lion download?

    Hi,
I have downloaded Lion from the App store and it has installed. I cannot find the installer anywhere on my machine. I am having issues with Mail and would like to reinstall either Lion or Mail or uninstall and reinstall both. Where does the OSX Lion app reside once downloaded and installed? Tried all the usual places, downloads...
Has anyone else had this problem?
    Thanks in advance,

I'm running a MacBook 4,1 on Snow Leopard.  If I want to download Lion where do I get the software?

Call Apple, 1-800-My-Apple, and you can order it over the phone then download it from the Mac App Store with a code they send you in an email..

Download it again, don't install again and the file (Lion Installer.app) will be in your applications folder.
It is deleted after installation, that's why it can't be found.

  • I have paid for the Mountain Lion. But for some reason, I cannot seem to download it, despite software being upgraded. Anyone facing this problem where the download does not begin? How can I solve this?

Make sure your Mac qualifies to run Mountain Lion >  Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
Try disabling anti virus software and turn off the Firewall in System Preferencs > Security & Privacy
Apps such as Little Snitch and Net Nanny can prevent apps from downloading from the App store including Mountain Lion.
Third party download managers are not compatible with the App Store.
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

  • Where can I download Lion?

I just typed all this in a detailed post and the horribly broken web app that is Apple Discussions errored and lost everything.
I was lied to at the Apple Store and told my Feb 2011 iMac included a free upgrade to Lion.  I've given up on that and just want to buy it but apparently Mountain Lion is the only available upgrade in the App Store.
Can someone please tell me where to buy Lion?  There are USB drives with Lion going on ebay for $400 and I'm about to be a very irate customer at my local Apple Store...
It's days like this that I want CentOS running on every device I own.

You Can get app store and Lion from it using snow leopard
No, the App store only sells Mountain Lion now.

  • Where do I go to download Lion???

I can't find any way to download Lion.  I have an appropriate Mac,  with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor.  HOw do I find a download site to click on????

I agree that the Apple Web Site is not always the easiest one to find things in.  I haven't upgraded to Lion yet.  I don't really need a lot of the features and am pretty happy with Snow Leopard for now, so I can't tell you much about why you are not able to just download straight from the App Store.  Have you looked at the Lion Community to see if some of the answers to similar questions will help you solve this problem?   That also might be the best place to post a question, with as much detail as you can give about it.
