For whatever reason they are not installed with the free trial version.

Well it won't let me paste the url but it's simply the get started series (which are abridged clips from Iynda.com apparently). The guy opens exercise files but says you can follow along without them which is what I'm attempting. If he leans too much on them further on I may need them. Your posts seem to indicate they aren't necessary. You guys used the same start up series? Know of another free source of walk throughs (without sample files Or referring to other Adobe software)? I learn best by example...
I'm hoping to learn this in order to embellish my animations done in Bryce3D as well as captured footage.

You can address the problem in a number of different ways.
You can install X-windows from the installation DVD or setup access to the Oracle public software repository as described in http://public-yum.oracle.com. In which case, the command to install X-windows is: yum groupinstall "X Window System"
Or, you login remotely and and use SSH with X-forwarding, in which case the software on the server will use the X-Windows server on your client system. This is probably the preferred way since you do not have X-windows installed on the server. Is the image that you are getting a RGB one? Use color plane extraction and then use a binary threshold to convert it into a binary image. You can also directly use a color threshold and convert a rgb (color) image to a binary image.

I recently switched from PC to Mac and am able to find and transfer most of the larger files of music to iTunes, but there are about 750 songs that are held in sub-files that require me to dig in and transfer them one by one to iTunes.. I've tried transferring the parent folders, but it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know of a more efficient way of getting iTunes to dig into the subfolders and transfer the music without me having to go one by one?

Multiple files are required for the proer fnctioning of any of our GPIB products. Unfortunatly the installation is not as simple as copying a single file over. If you wish to make the installer silent, i believe this is entirely possible in a fashion similar to the details given at http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/0730A66245E6808086256CA8006E2183?OpenDocument.

i have backup of 6 .json files
when i choose 1st one
This will replace all of your current bookmarks with the backup. Are you sure?
then i click on ok
but there is no chage in my new bookmark

I'm using portal servers from BEA, IBM and JBoss since several years. I bought a book on Oracle AS Portal which showed me a couple of interesting things I wanted to look at. Surprinsingly enough, this book doesn't start as normally, with how to download and install the product. This already seemd a little bit wear to me. But when I tried to find by myself the Oracle AS Portal bundle to download and install, I didn't find anything. Looking in the Oracle AS 10.1.3 documentation, it seems that Oracle AS Portal is not a part of it. I finally managed myself to find some documentation saying that in order to install the last version of Oracle AS Portal, one should install Orackle AS 10.1.2.0.2 and upgrade afterward to Orcale As Portal 10.1.4. Yes, but when I tried to install Oracle AS 10.1.2.0.2, I dind' find any option concerning the portal. There OC4J, ther is Infrastructure (identity management and other things), development kits but not portal.
So could someone explain what does this big mistery around Oracle As Portal mean exactly and how to download and install it quickly ?

First you would need to install the infrastructure which in itself should include the Identity Management and the metadata repository, which portal uses. Then after you're done with that, you can then start the installer again and choose to install the application server (the middle tier). When you're installing the Application Server, it asks for more options. You may choose just to install a J2EE server..in your case if you want portal choose the corresonding option that contains portal. If you're wanting to install Forms/Reports services, you'll need to select the corresponding option. Hopes this helps you get started.

You would have to use Bootcamp and install Windows or install an emulator like Parallels and then install Windows into the Parallels emulator.
It probably won't do any good but you could file a complaint with them over their choice to only support Windows.

Macbook butchers hard drives-New hard drive where to buy and how to install

Hey.
I have one of the last generation Macbooks and my hard drive died on me again. this the second hard drive and I only have the device for 1 year and 10 months.
Last time it fell under warranty but that has expired by now. So I am left with following questions:
1) Is it normal for a Macbook to kill 2 hard drives in less then 2 years? Could it be somthing about my Macbook specific or the way that I use it?
2) I don't really feel like spending at least 200 euro's at my Apple reseller to have a new hard disk installed... So I was wondering:
2.a which hard drives are suited for my type Macbook
2.b where do I find them / at which price (within Europe / Belgium)
2.C where do I find a manual about how to install it myself?

Hard drives do fail. That is an inescapable fact and a primary reason why backups are always recommended.
Two hard drives to fail within two years, although unusual, would have nothing to do with your Mac and more to do with the actual hard drive.

Replacing the hard drive in your model MacBook is very easy. Instructions on how to do so are even in the User's Manual that came with your MacBook. If you no longer have the manual, you can download it from here:

Additionally there are also excellent tutorials on youtube - just type something like "MacBook hard drive replacement" or similar in the search field.
Internal 2.5" SATA hard drives can be bought virtually anywhere and are very cheap - a 500GB internal 2.5" SATA hd, for example can be found on-line for as little as 50 Euros (maybe less).
I'm in the UK and whenever I need to buy internal hard drives I do so on-line from ebuyer.com:

I suggest you search this forum. That question has been answered a lot.
1) If you are using a pure Java Card use scriptgen tool and send those commands to the card.
2) If you are using a Java Card with Global Platform
A) Follow the Global Platform specs and authenticate to the card with developer keyset(0x40,0x41,0x42,0x43...0x4f)
b) Get a kit
Since you are a beginner, I recommend you get the a kit like JCOP or one from card vendors like G&D, Gemplus, etc.

Where is imovie06, and how to copy imovie 08 files to imovie06

Hi all, bear with me, new imac user here. First thing I'm trying with the mac is importing DV tape into imovie08, and am going to make DVD's for the family. Reading a bit that apparently imovie08 isnt as good at this task as imovie06, but apparently imovie06 is included with my mac somewhere? How do I find and get that imovie 06 running?
Also, I have now imported 4 DV tapes into imovie 08. How do I get that video into imovie 06 instead? I have not attempted to edit a thing yet, still have 4 more tapes to go first........

If you just bought the computer and iLife '08 came pre-installed, then you may have to download iMovie '06 v6.0.4 here.
Also, I have now imported 4 DV tapes into imovie 08. How do I get that video into imovie 06 instead?
Import or "drag 'n drop" the previously "captured" iMovie '08 source files. If you haven't changed the default location, they will be in the "Movies > iMovie Events > named_event" folder for the user account under which the clips were captured to iMovie '08.

How to Open the FailedFilesLog.txt File (statement), and How to Increase the 100 File Limit (question)

It took us a while to figure this out, so I'm posting this in case it's helpful for someone out there. Plus, I have a question...
DPM gave the following error for one of our file servers:
Description: The replica of Volume D:\ on <servername> is inconsistent with the protected data source. Number of files skipped for synchronization due to errors has exceeded the maximum allowed limit of 100 files on this data
source (ID 32538 Details: Internal error code: 0x809909FE)
Recommended action: Review the failure errors for individual files from the log file
\\?\Volume{8492c150-f195-11de-a186-001cc4ef89a0}\B1E9D373-2C03-464E-A472-99BC93DB1E2A\FailedFilesLog.txt and take appropriate action. If some files fail consistently, you can exclude the folders containing these files by modifying the protection group or
moving the files to another location.
So, how do you actually open the FailedFilesLog.txt file shown in this DPM alert? What is this path referring to? Well, this is the mount point for the protected server's replica volume on the DPM server, which is mounted under \Program
Files\Microsoft DPM\DPM\Volumes\Replica\servername\File System. Here you'll see the mount points for all of the server's protected volumes. However, if you try to open one of these mounted volumes
in Windows Explorer, you'll get Access Denied, even if you have administrator rights. (If someone knows of a way around this, please let me know). As a workaround, you can access this mounted volume in an elevated
command prompt. Steps:
Open an Administrator Command Prompt
Type mountvol <AnyAvailableDriveLetter>: \\?\Volume{VolumeGUID}
Example: mountvol m: \\?\Volume{8492c150-f195-11de-a186-001cc4ef89a0} Note that we're only using the first part of the path to the FailedFilesLog.txt
file given in the DPM alert, starting from \\? and ending after the
} character.
Next, type m: to change to the newly mounted m: drive.
Then type cd B1E9D373-2C03-464E-A472-99BC93DB1E2A This is actually a folder name so we're just going into this folder.
Finally type dir and you should see the FailedFilesLog.txt file. This file can be copied to another location where it's easier to use (i.e. in Windows Explorer).
Be sure to unmount this volume when you're done by typing mountvol m: /d in the command prompt. (Mountvol reference:

What a pain, eh? But at least by reviewing the FailedFilesLog.txt file you can determine which files or folders caused the sync to fail and thus take action accordingly.
Now, here's my question: Where is that registry key that lets me adjust the limit of 100 files that DPM allows to be skipped before it fails the replica? Hopefully someone out there will tell me. I know this can be done because Kapil Malhotra

Do I add this registry key to the DPM server or to the protected servers (or both)?
In either case, the ContinueOnFailure key does not currently exist. So, I must create this key and the MaxFailedFiles DWORD value
manually, right?

Can the DPM alert for the 0x809909FE error event (for exceeding the limit of 100 failures) please be adjusted to provide a path to the FailedFilesLog.txt file

Any ideas on why the 0x80070002 "File not found" error happened? The files on the server were simply created and then deleted. Why would such file activity lead to this error?

what can i do with that? I deleted the dml part but the dmg file does not work either. gives me an error

Where do I find and how to install a generic laserprint ppd ?

I have an old but very good and reliable GCC elite 1212 laser printer that still works. I have updated to OS 10.4.10 and the laserprinters drivers wont install on this OS.
The company (GCC) seems to have disappeared, so i wonder if i can install a generic laserprinter ppd and select the printer through that?
I have the printer on an ethernet network and its a basic B&W laser. Any clever ideas?

Here's what I've done that still doesn't seem to be working:
In printer setup utility I went to add new printer > IP printer > Internet printing Protocol and added in the IP broadcast address. In the 'Print using' drop down, the GCC printer is listed so thats selected.
When i try to print from the printer I have an error saying 'Unable to connect to IPP host: Permission denied.'
Not sure what I've done wrong. I've enabled TCP/IP on the printer. Thanks for your help
