Where to find companion cd or sample schemas?

Hi
I have Oracle 10g Express Edition intalled on Windows XP. I would like to test the sample schemas but I can only find the Human Resources installed. I read somewhere that they are available on the Oracle 10g companion CD, where can I find this? I have searched everywhere for the file but no luck! Thanks for any advice.
Michael

It is useless to try to find the Companion disk for XE, it doesn't exist. Oracle Companion disk is available only for the SE or EE editons, not for XE. XE only has included the HR schema. The reason is because the other schemas require options, such as partitioning, which are not available in XE.
If you want to test the other schemas, then you must install the Oracle Enterprise Edition.

  • Where to download scripts for HR sample schema

    Hi,
i installed Oracle11g on linux without sample schemas.
now i want to manually install the sample schemas.
and when i checked the folders under "../human_resources"
i am not able to view the scripts to install HR schema.
i tried a lot of google search but i am not able to find and download the scripts needed to create HR objects.
Can someone guide me where i can find scripts that i can download and install all the sample schema objects
    Thanks,
    Philip.

It's part of the Companion install

  • IPhone: Where to find good Documentation and Samples for Auto-Rotate?

So I'm starting to get into the auto rotation features for my iPhone apps. I've spent a couple hours looking for some apple documentation and searching online, but I'm not finding any "definitive" guide to discuss the process. Any recommendations would be great!
Specifically, I'm trying to learn about the following:
    - I have already implemented auto-rotation, but how do I setup my view so when rotated, it adjust the UI to take advantage of landscape mode. (i.e. I want to add extra features, and re-position some things)
    - I also would like to the option within a couple views, that when rotated, goes to an entirely new view.
    Thanks in advance!

I generally find that vector drawing programs are better for drawing toolbar icons and the like, as vector drawings are easier to tweak and adjust later. I've had great success with VectorDesigner in my own apps; it has a shallow learning curve and a solid basic feature set, although it can be quirky at times. (It also doesn't play all that well with certain development tools: don't try to add VectorDesigner files to Xcode projects, and make sure you zip them before you add them to a Subversion or CVS repository. VectorDesigner files are packages--like application bundles--and those tools don't play well with packages.)
If you want to go a little higher end, Illustrator is the Photoshop of vector drawing, but like Photoshop you'll probably find it very difficult to start out with.
You'll also need a raster graphics editor to tweak exported images. I use Pixelmator for this, but Photoshop will work just as well.

  • Sample schemas scripts are missing from 10g (10.2.0.1.0)  on Win XP Pro(32

    Hi All!
Sample schemas (HR, OE, PM, QS, and SH) scripts are missing from 10g (10.2.0.1.0) on Win XP Pro(32-bit)
I have checked $ORACLE_HOME/demo/schema directory: There is subdirectory for each schema.
The scripts are not there or only some of them scripts are installed.
The list of correct scripts is hear:

Where to get scripts to rebuild sample schemas manually?
    Thank you

    Welcome to the forums !
The scripts should be available in the companion directory of the CD

  • Help with sample schema

Hello. I am reading a self teaching guide called databases demystified by andy oppel. In the book it says that a sample hr schema is used to demonstrate sql. It then leads the reader to download a free trial version of oracle personal edition from otn.oracle.com. In the sample the release that is being used is 9.2.0.10 it says that once opend to go to orahome92............I am a novice user and tried to download this and it did not work. I have tried to install this many times. Is there something that I am misssing. I read something about metalink. I do not have access to that so how can I use the sample download. Im sure that he would not put that download in the book if it was not readily availible to all to use. Could someone please help me with this. Do I need something special on my computer to make it work properly? Im using a reg household computer to study with and it is running one xp. Thanks

First of all, metalink is a paid oracle support site. Unless you dont have support from oracle, you can't access it.
Secondly, you can simply download the oracle software either 9i or 10g from the following link.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html
Once you install oracle software and then create database (if you are creating database through wizard, using database configuration assistant, you will have all example schemas, like HR and other). You can also find scripts to create sample schema on the following directory structure:
    oracle\ora92\demo\schema

I downloaded Oracle 10g database express edition (XE). It does not seem to include the oe sample schema, only the hr sample schema. Does anyone know where I can download the scripts to install the oe sample schema? Could not find these anywhere on oracle.com or on google amazingly. Thanks so much.

  • Where is HR Sample Schema Script for APEX 2.2

Just installed APEX 2.2 and am reviewing the 2-day developers guide. In there they give many examples based on an HR sample schema which they say can be downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/code/hr_sample_schema.sql
I'm finding this address invalid. Does anyone know the right url for the script or can someone supply it to me?

    Hi skondolf1,
I don't know where that specific script is now, but you can also get the HR samle schema here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/common/files/sample_schema_scripts9i10g.zip

  • Can't find sample schemas

I have installed 10g xe. I am self training using the oracle press book "Oracle Database 10g A Beginner's Guide." However, the book indicates that the customer table, mentioned in chapter 2 is provided as part of the sample schema in 10g. But the only schema I have is HR. Is there a place where I can download and import the schemas mentioned in the book? Or must I install enterprise edition in order to work with them? Thanks to any that can assist.

The Order Entry (OE) schema builds on the purely relational Human Relations (HR) schema with some object-relational and object-oriented features. The OE schema contains seven tables: Customers, Product_Descriptions, Product_Information, Order_Items, Orders, Inventories, and Warehouses. The OE schema has links into the HR schema and PM schema. This schema also has synonyms defined on HR objects to make access transparent to users.

  • Where can I find BOE XI R1 sample auditing reports?

    Hi there,
I'm trying to track down the auditing reports that came with or were available for BusinessObjects Enterprise XI R1. Does anyone know where I can find these? The sample auditing reports for XI R2 are easy to find (with the accompanying Universe), but the XI R1 reports seem to be lost..
    Thanks!
    Allan

    Hi Allan,
When BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 was first installed, a custom install was used and sample reports were not selected.
The sample audit reports and universe connection information are contained in the file m29.cab. This file is located in the win32 folder of the installation media.
    Perform the following steps:
    1. Open the m29.cab file using an uncompression tool, such as WinZip.
    2. Extract the file auditing_rpt_en_biar.65FF9700_720A_4759_AB8C_5E33BA2E32D3.
    3. Rename the extracted file to "auditing_rpt_en.biar".
    4. Depending on the type of auditing database you are using, extract the file auditing_db_<dbtype>.biar.65FF9700_720A_4759_AB8C_5E33BA2E32D3 file.
    5. Rename the extracted file to "auditing_db_<dbtype>.biar", where <dbtype> represents the database type you are using.
    6. Using the Import Wizard, import the biar file for the database connection first, and then the report biar file.
These are the steps you have to follow as per the note.
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Abhijeet T.

  • Missing Oracle Sample Schemas - How Download complete Files

    Dear DBA's
I appreciate if someone could tell me how setup the ORACLE SAMPLE SCHEMAS, because all my demo folders in 10g and 11G

it says to run "hr_main.sql" script in folder $ORACLE_HOME/demo/schema/human_resources
    But I can't find any file"hr_main"
    then for PM Schema it's supposed to have a file pm_main.sql !!!! I can't find .....
The same for SH (Sales History) they say to run the "sh_main.sql" but i can't find anything like "Main"
Can you please help me to compltely setup the sample schemas ?
    Txs

I am having the same problem.
I am running XE and the only sample schema that exists there is HR.
    OE and SH...are not there
I downloaded companion CD 10 minutes ago from
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10201winsoft-095341.html
and searched through the whole companion and no
    files like :
    sh_main.sql
    mksample
    nothing!
User Steve Callan placed a data pump file on
    http://www.dbasupport.com/oracle/ora11g/Installing-Oracle-Database-Sample-Schemas-using-Data-Pump.shtml
but he created it without version parameter, so people who are running data pum from older versions cannot import it.
I made a comment on the article he posted .
user13106173 pointed out a link where you can get OE and HR, but I need SH sample schema as well
So please can somebody direct me to anyplace I can get ALL THE Sample schemas

  • Where to find hr_main.sql?

    Hi all,
I want to create sample schemas in 10g.
But i can not find the hr_main.sql in $ORACLE_HOME/demo/schema/human_resources
    /u01/oracle/product/10.2.0/demo/schema/human_resources> ls -ltr
    total 8
    -rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 2733 Aug 29 2002 hr_code.sql
Q: where else to find this sql?
    thanks

    Hello all,
I have the same problem in an Oracle 10g R2 environment:
    the book "Sample Schemas" says:
All scripts necessary to create Human Resource (HR) schema reside in $ORACLE_HOME/demo/schema/human_resources.
You need to call only one script, hr_main.sql, to create all the objects and load the data. Running hr_main.sql accomplishes the following tasks
But there is only "hr_code.sql" as already written by SZ.
Also the solution described here can't work: there is no file "hr.jar" on the companion-CD. I searched for all "*.jar" files on the disc...a lot of files, but no "hr.jar"...
The "Samples Schema" book says here in chapter 1: The scripts are included in the companion directory on the installation medium..
It's the first time for me that it seems that the documentation is not telling the truth... ;-)
Does anyone know what's up with the scripts as they are described in the "Samples schema" book??
(or is it completely different on LINUX?? Do they not exist on Linux?? That's the OS I use...)
Thanks for your help in advance!

  • Oracle 9i Sample Schemas

I looking for the sample schemas that should have been installed with 9i DB. I installed 9i Personal on Win 98, but can't find them (HR, OE, PM, etc). They were supposed to have uploaded to $ORACLE_HOME/demo/schema. Demo doesn't exists.
I also tried to install the schemas on 8i according to the instructions and files that came with Oracle 9i JDev tutorial. The tables were not created, just lots of errors.
Any ideas where to look in 9i or how to install them on 8i?
    Still, life's good
    Thanks

Does your database have Oracle Intermedia installed?
The other thing to check is whether your DBA has revoked execute on those objects from public. A couple of them served as vectors for DoS attacks against the database,

  • Sample Schema Scripts

I have installed 10g application server and jdeveloper - but cannot find any of the scripts to create the sample schema. From searching the OTN forums it seams that the onl way of obtaing these scripts is to install the database or companion disk and run from the demo folder.
This seems a bit over the top - i had intended to use the infrastructure database, (my system dosn't have enough resources to install a seperate database), can any helpful person email the scripts, perhaps someone from oracle might be able to make this easier there seems to be a fair bit of interest in this on the forums.
    Many thanks Terry Bennett

    Hi Terry,
When you installed Oracle 10g, the demo tables should have been installed under the scott schema. Try select * from scott.emp and see if you get any results. Incase you are looking for the script for the demo tables, its in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlsampl.sql (in my case its in C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\RDBMS\ADMIN).
    Hope that helps.
