Where to find links related to table partition?

Please,
I randomly read a very nice topic about partitioning tables from Arup or someone else through a link, unfortunately Ididn't save it to my favorites.
Does someone give link me to some good partition table topics?
I'm just involved in a projet that need to partition a table, and the topic that I read last time was very interesting, and read it again should definetely refresh my mind

Both tables are joined using 'REPORTINGDATE_ID'. Now I've to partition Table 1 based on the column 'REPORTINGDATE' of Table 2. How can it be done?

updates to the status column is frequent, considering data inflow.
status has dfferent values like new,active,inactive etc.
for the entity record, workflow, has different states.
table can be partitioned on status field,
for a new state of a workflow record, there will be a new row and the old record is updated with a different status, hence row movement across paritions
for eg:
workflow_id=100 (internal id
workflow_parent=WF_XXXX01
status=new
next time, if there is a status change for the workflow, WF_XXXX01
workflow_id=101
workflow_parent=WF_XXXX01
status=active
etc
if PK to be a local index, then it will be workflow_id+status
possible query patterns,
select * from workflow where workflow_id=id_val and status='new'
select * from workflow where <some_other_criteria>
select * from workflow where status='new'
select * from workflow where status='active'
the only advantage i see here is to keep separate partitions for each status to group records, for eg. instead of keeping a separate entity to keep the inactive records.
if the predicate includes the status field, it needs to touch only the corresponding partition, if local index is there, then there can be performance benefits.
but global index will be ok, if there are limited number of partitions and query retrieves only small number of rows and response time is critical
may be after some time, as part of puring, the inactive paritions can be dropped, if there are only local indexes, then there is no parition maintenance overhead
but considering overall overhead, in terms of row contention related issues,
for an OLTP, would you suggest partitioning?

In Tcode: ME42, enter the request for quotation number (RFQ) and press enter. System will take you to 'Item Overview' screen. From menu select 'Header' -- 'Details' or press F6. Then the system will take you to 'Header screen' there you can see the 'company code' after RFQ number field.
Or
Directly from Tcode: ME42, enter the request for quotation number,then from menu select 'Header' -- details. Here you can have the company code field.
The data for company here too will get updated in table and field EKKO-BUKRS.

Where to find information on system tables like SARI

I'm having problems with installing an addon that was created by a third party. I'm seeing on the forum a table called SARI that contains some information regarding addons.
My question is a general one, where can I find documentation on SARI and any other sbo-common tables, or system tables like OARI?

I don't think I've seen any official documentation on the SARI table. The SARI table contains information on all addons installed on the system, including a copy of the installer in a binary field in the table. References to the OARI and ARI1 tables can be found in the SDK documentation but that's limited to the database reference section. As none of these tables are exposed via a DI API object, I guess SAP don't wish to provide detailed information as changing the data directly in the database is not allowed.
If an addon is not installing correctly and you suspect these tables then it would be best to contact SAP support.

Finding links b/w tables

can anyone explain me how to find the links b/w two table generally..i know about the materials available ,,other than that how to fimd relationship between any tables...any techniques plz

These function modules can be seen (on action) through transaction SM13.
You can identify these under SE37, as they have the flag "Update module" checked (in Attributes tab) (or search table TFDIR for records with TFDIR-RS38L_TSK not initial).
Look at POST_DOCUMENT for example, in the table parameter you will find table like BKPF, BSEG, BSET and other that you may not be aware of.

Beginers question - where to find Links.* options?

And again me I try again to script and have dificulties to find how to accsess such things like Actual PPi, Scale etc. I need to get that information to be able to rescale images with PS.

@SeniorSSS – these properties are not part of the Links objects, but are (partially, e.g. there is no "dimesions" property) properties of the images that are placed.
You can get access to the placed graphic from the Links object to its parent property:
var myLink = app.documents[0].links[0];
var myPlacedThing = myLink.parent;
In case your link (in my example the first link in the links list) is a JPEG or a TIFF file, the parent is of type "Image".
To get it always right one could go further and resolve the specifier for that parent.
myPlacedThing could be well a "Graphic", a "Movie", a "Sound" or a "Story".
Resolving the specifier and "make it open" to read-out or apply its properties, one could do the following:
var myPlacedThing = myLink.parent.getElements()[0];
In case of an Image (a subtype of "Graphic", you could then check its properties like actualPpi etc.
As I said: there is no "dimesions" property. For that case one has to calculate the dimensions of that image.

We have personalization option parameter OFF, since we don't want users to change parameters, but I would like to know, where is link between selected theme and user. I searched net and also SU01 but found nothing. How does CRM know, which theme (if not default) is assigned to user's profile?

Oracle Install Base - Where to find Queries related to parties and Loaction

Did anybody looked in Installed Base module, from where the party and location addresses are coming.
for example, when we select a party name and select GO button in the create item instance page , we will get some list of parties to select. From there we will select one party name.
I want in which jsp or java file the Query is located to retrieve all the parties here.
If anybody worked on this previously please help me.

Where to find the validation for table

I'm new to HRMS. This is my senario. USers entering the Leave. When entering the leave, it is validating the leave days , and throws error. If they entering for the same person, same from date and same to date, it will show error that *'Record already exist'*. Otherwise , it will accept the new records. My situation is, if the person applied for 5 days. but he returned back into 4 days. So, when they tried to update those records also , it showing same error, *'Record already exist'*.

Can I confirm I understand your requirement correctly. Is this right:
* You have overlapping absence validation at the moment
* This errors whenever you try and create/update an absence where any day of this absence overlaps with an existing absence (ie, it starts between an existing absence, or ends between an existing absence)
* The problem with this validation in the case of update is that its validating against itself
Is that right?
If so, what you'd usually do in this case is get the cursor to ignore the absence being updated. For example:

However, the problem here is getting hold of the absence_attendance_id. This isn't available to the Fast Formula, although I think if you're on release 12.1.3 it might be.
So with your current solution there's no way of getting the cursor to ignore the absence being updated. An alternative solution would be to implement this logic in API User Hooks on create_person_absence and update_person_absence. These hooks can pass in p_absence_attendance_id, which means you can then stop it erroring on itself.

Where to find documentation related to php-oracle

Hi , i have been working with oracle ,and with php -mysql but never with php-oracle. I would like to ask if there are any samples application with orale-php and wich i can download.
Another question is wich editor is better to use to program codes? I have been using dreamweaver. What else can you suggest me?

Find relation between tables

Hi experts,
How can I find the relation between tables? I mean, I can go to se 11 and compare each field of 2 tables manually, but it's very time consuming. Is there any possibilty to compare tables and find all the fields that can be found in both table?

Go to SQVI transaction... Create a qucik view.. ztest.. give desc..etc
Select data source as table join.... enter
now one screen will come with blank data (blue scrren)
in that application toolbar second button .. click that.. enter VBAK..
click that again.. enter VBAP.. now an image will come with links b/w vbak and vbap.. you can use any no. of tables there....
