Where to find newly installed apps?

This is my first time having such problem. I've just installed this app called booklet creater, and I went thru the normal procedure for installation. And it says it has been installed. Problem is that, I can't find the icon of that app in the 'application' folder.
helpp?

Use Spotlight and/or manually search your hard drive for the app.  Did you check your Download folder?
Download Find File which is better than Spotlight in locating files.

  • After updating My iPad 2 to iOS 5.1.1 , my newly installed apps are not working.

After updating My iPad 2 to iOS 5.1.1 , my newly installed apps are  not working . When I try to open the app the screen just flashes and then nothing happens. Built in apps works fine . Please help

I realize that installing apps is not the problem. Installing another app from the app store is a recommended troubleshooting tip from Apple if all of the third party apps will not open. It resets your iTunes authorization when you install the app because you have to enter your password.
If you didn't install another app try it. Read this support article as well.
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased for the App Store
Try this as well. Quit all apps, reset the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then see if the apps will launch.

  • How do I find an installed App?

I'm surprised that Apple has failed to give us a way to find Apps that we've installed but removed from the screen.  We can 'search' for them and they'll come up, but once we have to close them, we'll have to go thru the whole process again.  Does anyone know how to find an installed App and secure its Icon to the screen?

I'm not talking about Apps residing in Folders.  I'm talking about the Icon/App missing.  I've found the answer at long last....if we "deleted" an App, it will Open if we go to the App Store, find it and just open it.  But....that doesn't solve the problem because when we close the App, the Icon is 'still' not on our screen.  In order to get the Icon back so we can open the App the easy way...from our own screen, we must go to "Purchased" in the App store and RE-DOWNLOAD the entire App.  Whodathunkit.
Whodathunkit? How about anybody that has used an iPad for the past 4 years. That is the way that it has always worked, as Gail has already stated.

    Hello Masterklaus69,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like there is a lot of data in the Other catagory. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

If you know where the app is (in a folder, for example), go to that folder and find the app there.
Maybe you tried holding the app down in the search screen.  I didn't say clearly you have to go to the app eherever it is, but not in the search screen.

  • Can't Finder an installed app.

I installed an app - la stampa - it appears as installed on Apple store, but i cannot fine it on my iPad.

If you've checked all your homescreens and can't find it, and it's not hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps, then try a reset and see if it appears after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Can't find icon for a newly installed app.

I installed a new app, but cannot find the icon to use it!  I tried powering off the PlayBook and nothing changed.  How do I access apps that are installed, but not displayed?

On your Playbook, do you know you can SWIPE left and right to other app icon panels?
And you can scroll downward, to icons not shown on the screen?
Have you tried both of those?

  • Newly installed APP not finding loops

    hi
I've just installed the latest version of Logic Pro and according to the program all the loops are there.  When you go to 'loops' they are all listed, and you can click on them to listen to the sample.  However, when you then click and drag into the project, it says it can't find them...ANY of them!
When you go to 'add content' all of the content is 'installed', but I've noticed the 'apple loops' are greyed out.
    Can anyone help?
    thanks
    James

    Hi
I'd check that they are actually installed using the Finder. They should be at
    Library:Audio:Apple Loops:Apple
I'd also try playing one via QuickLook or Quicktime to make sure that they are OK

  • Icons for newly installed apps are missing (Mavericks)

When I install new applications on my MacBook Pro, the icons are missing and instead, showing the generic "App" icon.
Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
    Thank you.

This procedure will reset the state of LaunchPad to its default. Any customization that you did will be removed.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Dock
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it are one or more files with long names ending in ".db". Move those files to the Desktop, leaving the folder open. Log out, log back in, and test. If there's no change, put the files you moved back where they were, overwriting the ones that may have been created in their place. Then log out and in again. Otherwise, delete the files you moved.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Documenting all changes made on mac by newly-installed app

Is there any app/script which will enable me to find ALL junk and changes left behind by an uninstalled app? I don't mean just plists, etc. which AppTrap and others find easily enough. but something that will probably need to be run before the install and again after the install is fully completed. I've seen this in Windows (where it is often glaringly needed!) but can't find it for Apple kit.

    Hi and welcome to Disucssions,

  • Mac won't open newly installed apps.

I am trying to install and open apps from the Mac App Store, but nothing I installed today will open. Apps I already had are working fine, but when I try to install a new one the app appears in Finder and the Launchpad, but the app won't open. It also doesn't ask me to enter my Apple ID password. It gives me no notification about why it won't open. I restarted the laptop twice today (once for an update) and it didn't change anything. I have OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.3 and I'm using a MacBook Air.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • All newly installed apps disappear after the installation is done?

My problem started a few days ago. I install a new app from the app store and it shows up as loading on the home screen. As soon as the installation is done the icon simply disappears. Finder cannot locate it and the store shows the OPEN button, but it does nothing when pressed.I tried settings/general/usage/storage and the missing apps are there but the name of the missing apps does not show. I only see the icon and the size. I can delete the apps from there but reinstalling them does not help.

Unfortunately that did not help. It seems that there is a limit on the number of apps that can be shown on the home screen. I have close to 200 apps installed, and they are organized in folders on the home screen (3 pages). I must have hit the limit for apps in the home screen. I can install new apps, but they will not show up. If i delete one of the old apps then install a new one it will show on the home screen. I believe when the count gets to 189 then the next one (#190) will disappear after installation.
