Where to find self service log

Hi,
I have setup self service portal under Enterprise Infrastructure Cloud on EM12c. When a SSA user requests a server using a template, the request fails with "Execution Error" and no other detail on Self Service Portal Screen. Do any one one know how to troubleshoot this and where to find the detailed log file?
Thank you.

By template, I presume you mean VM template.
Have you set up the Oracle VM Self-Service Pools and Zones as outlined in:

  • Where to find BPS error log

    Hi Experts,
I try to open a BPS planning level and I receive the following error.
UPC_FW030 with the hint to analyse the error log.
There must be something wrong with the selection but the system automatically removes parts of the section.
Can anyone tell me where to find this error log
    Regards Michael

    Hello Stephen,
the log or protocol you mentioned doesn't contain any information, but I figured out what coursed the problem. It was a hierarchy in the selection of the planning level. The selection with the hierarchy was installed in 2009 and by debugging the function module UPC_OPTIOS_GET the select statement inside returned 31.12.2009 for DATETO from the table UPC_NODES and this doesnu2019t fit to 2010.
The reason is, that hierarchy selection will be stored with a timestamp.

  • Where to find the BUILD Log??

    Hi Friends,
Could anyone pls let me know where can i find the BUILD Log file. My DC build is failed. I dont know where to find the Build Log for DCs.
    Thanks,
    Raghavendra Pothula

    Hi Raghavendra,
just to add some info: Since activation triggers a build the build log really is the result of the activation, isn't it?
There is one pitfall: If activation fails due to build errors you have to use this way (Or navigate to the request using the CBS WebUI and then check the activation results there). If you check the last build log for the DC (nagivating to the DC via CBS WebUI) you usually see the last succesfull build, i.e. a different build log.

  • Where to find an Error logs?

Sometimes, when bpel crash i cant get it Audit Trails:
"Audit trail is not available for this instance. This might be because either "Audit Level" configuration for BPEL is set to Off at the engine level or at the SOA Infrastructure level or due to errors while retreving audit information, please review logs for detailed information."
But my Audit Level is set to "Development".
Why it happens so? And where do weblogic store its logs about composites fails?

    OK i found them.
I add a dehydration too, and now i can see a real reson of fault: <faultstring>Waiting for response has timed out.
Now its only to find where to configure a "response timeout"

  • Where to find out the log file under java developer role

    Hi,
I have some application created in NWDS. While running it after the PAR deployment and all. some exception is thrown. the exception iD is given.  I was trying to find out wher the log files are located in the portal so that I can analyze the exception.
I think it is under the java developer role....but under that......I checked the log viewer tool and all.....but exactly where the log files would be located. so that with the exception ID , I can search and find out the log for the particular exception.
    any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Steelman,
Use the search option in log viewer for this purpose. In the server it would be located in
    <i>usr/sap/sid/jc00/cluster/server0/logs</i>
    Hope this helps.

  • Where to find the detailed log for  Repository/Directory

    Hi all,
I have configured some configuration objects both in Integration Repository and Directory. But facing some problems like
activating the changes, partially missing configuration etc. For such problems, where we can find the logs to analyze the issue in repository & directory.
Please help me in finding the location for the logs of IR & ID,
    Regards,
    Soorya

    activating the changes
The Change list automatically gets populated with the objects which need activation....does it not help?
    partially missing configuration
If you miss mandatory configuration (like target URL in SOAP channel) then an error message will be shown there itself...while activating....logs about the same may not be avilable....we have ot checki it manually.

    Abhishek.

  • Where to find Trigger failed logs.

    Hello friends and Gurus,
Where can we find the logs, if one trigger failed due to any reasons ?
I can give one test example,
First I created one table in Scott schema.
CREATE TABLE TEMP (SRNO NUMBER PRIMARY KEY,
    DESCRIPTION VARCHAR2(50));
Second I created a "Logoff on schema" trigger in Scott.
CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER SAMPLE1 BEFORE
    LOGOFF ON SCHEMA
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO TEMP VALUES (1, 'Message..............');
    END;
When first time I exit from SQL plus, the trigger inserted the values to Temp table.
Second time I changes the connection.
    Conn / as sysdba
    It gave the following error.
    ERROR:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-00001: unique constraint (SCOTT.SYS_C003212) violated
    ORA-06512: at line 2
    ERROR:
    ORA-24313: user already authenticated
Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.
This is fine. It won't allow me to connect to another user.
But when I exit from SQL plus it allowed me to exit with out giving me any messages or warnings, the trigger has been failed because unique constraint violated.
    I am anticipating the response.

    OK i found them.
I add a dehydration too, and now i can see a real reson of fault: <faultstring>Waiting for response has timed out.
Now its only to find where to configure a "response timeout"

  • [SOLVED] Where to find pacman install log

I was wondering whether there was any sort of install log for pacman.
Also, if I wanted, how could I remove any packages installed between two specified dates (perhaps using the information provided in this log).
    Thanks!
Last edited by tbgconno (2012-10-10 23:49:23)

    Default location: /var/log/pacman.log
    man pacman.conf:
    LogFile = /path/to/file
Overrides the default location of the pacman log file. A typical
default is /var/log/pacman.log. This is an absolute path and the
    root directory is not prepended.
Also do check man pacman! And search the forums before posting!
Documentation is there for a purpose.

  • Employee Self-Service vs E-Learning.

    Good Morning.
I have implemented ESS. I have the following doubt:
If an employee wants to inscribe a course of Learning, in ESS  Where can find those services?
This Services not is in Area or Subareas of ESS??
This is a TAB as the are Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service in the portal?
I never have work integration of ESS vs E-Learning.
Thank in advance for your help.
    Best Regards

    Hi Juan,
Since the Web Dynpro versions for ESS, Training area is not integrated. That was replaced with Learning Solution (LSO), what alsomore, include new functionality, like manage e-Learning courses with SCORM standards. But take in count that LSO requires and additional license to operate in productive systems.
    So what can you do?
    1. Include the old apps in your Web Dynpro Portal (to prebook/request/cancel a participation and review the status). For this, add the PV7I and PV8I transactions, by using transaction or IAC iViews templates
    2. For licensed LSO users, you have to download the Business Package for Learning, then make it accesible to users by adding the Role. Please check:
Business Package for Learning (SAP ERP) 1.0
To finish and be clear, e-Learning is only supported in LSO.
    Kind regards

  • How to enable fnd log in self service page

    Hello,
In professional forms, we can enable fnd log using the profile options "FND: Debug Log Enabled" to Yes and "FND: Debug Log Level" to different levels.
Similarly, can we do the same with Self Service page? how and where can i see the log results? Also when i'm running the selfservice page from jDeveloper, is there any possibility to see the entire log?
I need to track why i'm unable to run a page from jdeveloper and i need to track the log.
Thank you all for the help in advance.
    kK

    Hi,
To Enable to Log for a self service page click on 'Diagnostics' link avaible at the Upper Right corner of the page. Now from the Diagnostic poplist select the 'Show Log On Screen' then select the log level and save.
Now you perform your fucntional steps all the log messages you will be able to see at the bottam of the page.

  • Where to find the log file

    Hi,
I am gettting the following runtime portal error and do not know where to find it.
I have searched in my c drive but nothing has been found.
Do you guys have any idea where i can locate this error log ??.
    Runtime error portaal
Fout opgetreden bij verwerking opdracht voor :
    iView : pcd:portal_content/com.getronicspinkroccade.GetronicsPinkRoccade/com.getronics.civision.CiVision/com.getronics.civision.civga.civga/com.getronics.civision.civga.iViews/com.getronics.ExampleOneIntl
    Naam component : WorkShopInl.default
Error occurs during the rendering of jsp component.
    Exception id: 10:28_12/10/05_0005_3628850
See the details for the exception ID in the log file

Log and trace messages are written in <installation_path>j2eeclusterserver0log<b>defaultTrace.trc</b>. But it's very hard to read this file's content with a text editor... So you should use the LogViewer utility. You can use either the standalone or the integrated LogViewer that you can find in <i>J2EE Visual Administrator -> Server XX -> Services -> LogViewer</i>. Have a look at this weblog for learning how to use it:

  • Portal runtime error: where can I find the system log?

I got a portal runtime error. Like this:
    Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing your request
    Exception id: 10:22_16/05/08_0007_13424550
Where can I find the log file / more details?
    Thanks
    René

    Hello rene,
    2 ways for accessing log:
    1) browse portal filesystem : \usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\<server instance>\log\
    2) use sap log applications
I suggest you to use logviewer or visual admin(it contains logviewer) applications. It will display formated logfile and you will be able to filter on severity / User Name / date / .......
if you are using visual admin, just connect with Visual Admin then browse to  <server name> / services / log viewer then  again <server name> \usr\sap\J2E\JC00
j2ee\cluster\server0\log and then click on defaultTrace.trc
it is pretty the same navigation when using logviewer

  • Where to find JVM logs?

    Hi,
I am new to SAP Web AS and I am migrating a J2EE application from Weblogic and I am considerably successful in that but I am not able to find the JVM logs I searched help.sap.com but without much success. Can any body suggest me where can I find the JVM logs(System.out and System.err) of the application.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ashok.

    Hi,
if you have not changed your log configuration - that's the file you need. The reason that you're not able to see your System.out message there is that the severity of this log location is too high (Error by default). You might want to lower it (for example, set it to DEBUG) and see if you have your message in the defaultTrace.trc file.
To change the severity, you need to connect the Visual Administrator to the server, then locate the Log Configurator service, then open the Locations tab within the Runtime tab, then browse the ROOT_LOCATION tree down to System -> out, and then adjust the severity using the Severity: dropdown list. Here's a <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/61/f24f3e21504644e10000000a114084/frameset.htm">link</a> to the docs as well.
    Hope this works now.
