You can find only a Windows XP tablet edition drivers on the Toshiba European driver page! But you will not find a Windows XP tablet Edition 2005 OS for download!!!
You will have to buy a clean OS and then you could install the Toshiba drivers downloaded for the notebook.
PS: I dont know what OS was preinstalled on your M700 but mostly a Toshiba recovery CD/DVD should be delivered together with the notebook.

"(also, my profile says that I'm running OS X 10.4.6, but I'm not really sure, that's just what one of the disks has written on it that came with my used and very cheap machine "
Click on the blue Apple icon at the top left of your screen and choose About this Mac. That will tell you what your OS version is and what amount of RAM you have. The "More Info" button in the pop-up screen will give you the Apple System Profiler application and that will give you whole bunches of information on the drive space used etc.

  • Qosmio X500-1801 - where to find Win 7 drivers full package

I have to question why Toshiba Qosmio X500-1801 will not work with all the features of Windows 7 on a professional 32-bit operating system, Do you know where to find the drivers full package. Please answer the [email protected]

    Hi buddy,
What problem you have exactly? What is not working?
As PauPau wrote all drivers are placed on official Toshiba website so I dont think its a problem to find and install them.
I dont understand why you can Windows 7 64bit to 32bit. I assume your notebook has 4GB RAM or more so you cant use the whole RAM capacity anymore with 32bit OS.

  • Swap File - Where to find and how to edit?

I have a game with requirements I all meet/exceed, but one is unknown to me. And that is the need for a 1GB swap file. I'm not sure where to check to find it, nor how to edit/make one if it's not big enough.
I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to these sorts of things, so any help would be appreciated.

Unix will "page" before it "swaps". Applications require memory for two reasons: (1) they need to load the application program code (or at least some of it) into memory, and (2) as you do things with the program, it needs some memory space for all the data your program is dealing with which is NOT application program code.
As more memory is needed, the Unix kernel will begin by taking memory listed as being "free" (memory that nothing is using - and btw it's normal for a good Unix operating system to try to keep that number low... you paid for the memory so it might as well do something for you and Mac OS X will try to find a user for it.)
As the "free" / available memory is depleted, the kernel will begin stealing memory from the "inactive" list (memory which was previously used by some other application, but that application doesn't seem to want to use it right now -- usually because it is no longer running. It doesn't immediately return memory to the "free" list because odds are good you may re-run the application and the system will be faster if the code that would otherwise have needed to be read in from disk is already in memory.)
As the "inactive" memory is depleted, it will then begin "paging" applications which are still technically in memory, but seem to be idle right now. It doesn't drop the "data" being managed by those applications... instead it just frees up memory used by that application's code. It does this (as opposed to freeing memory used for data) because the code can easily just be re-read in from the disk drive (no need to 'save' the memory before freeing it because it's already on disk.)
Only when all else fails (no 'free' memory, no 'inactive' memory, and no idle applications that can have their code pages dropped) will the system begin to 'swap' (swapping is the slowest way of creating more virtual memory.)
Unless you have a very small amount of real memory (in which case just upgrade... RAM is cheap!) or have a LOT of other active applications running on your system at the same time which also are demanding a lot of memory (in which case, just 'Quit' the other applications before starting your game), then your performance issue is not likely caused by a lack of memory.

  • Where to find Win XP 64bit Power Management/Saver for Satellite M305D-S4830

I was able to fully load Windows XP 64bit onto my Satellite M305D-S4830 with all drivers.
Everything is working great except for my battery not lasting very long.
I have searched but haven't been able to find a working copy of Toshiba Power Saver that will work on my laptop with XP 64.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hi!
I think you will not find a 64bit version from Toshiba Power Saver.
Toshiba does not support XP 64bit so are no 64bit software available.
You must use the settings from Windows or you change to Vista 64bit. Vista has more options to save energy and its the same like Power Saver.

  • Where to find Win XP drivers for Portege R400

    I need help.
Cannot work on Vista - so want to downgrade to WXP.
But there are no drivers on official Toshiba site for this OS only for Vista.
I cannot find info about compatibility of Toshiba software (that works on Vista) with XP.
Can you help me answering these quests?

The reason that they have not released any XP drivers is that this machine was soley designed for Vista as it was used by the big man himself (Bill gates) when he first presented Windows Vista, so i think Toshiba have decided to keep it as a vista only machine.
You may be able to obtain XP drivers for some of the devices in the laptop from the manufacturer websites of the devices, Intel for example if it has any Intel devices installed etc.
    Hope this helps

  • Does anyone know where to find Adobe reader 3.3.3 for Windows?

The Mozilla plugin checker says Adobe reader is out of date (3.3.2) but the link takes me to the same version. I could only find Mac versions of 3.3.3 please help!

3.3.3 seems like an extremely old version. The latest version is 9.3. According to [[Using the Adobe Reader plugin with Firefox]], you can either go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ or go to '''Help > Check for Updates''' in Adobe Reader.

  • Tecra M7: Where to get Win XP Edit?

    Hi,
I have recently bought a Tecra M7 off a friend who had neglected it. It has been lying around for over a year with a broken power port. As a result of this he has lost all the discs and the pen!
I have upgraded the ram and have a 120 gig HDD that I would like to put in it but as I do not have any of the discs this is going to cause me a problem.
I have downloaded all the drivers I need from the toshiba website but am in need of the OS.
Is there any way for me to get the XP tablet edition 2005 which is already on it without having to pay a rediculous amount for a brand new copy?
Is it possible to transfer winows from 1 HDD to another? Also does anyone no where I can get 1 of the pens from?
I have looked about on the internet and can't seem to find any!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Jay

    Hi mate
Im not quite sure if you will be able to order such disk for this notebook.
In some cases this is not possible if the notebook series has been discontinued.
    But check this page:
    http://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
Usually you could order the recovery disks there.
But if its not possible, then you will need to install the Windows using an Microsoft disk!
The necessary drivers could be found on the Toshiba European driver page:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/
Note: you have to choose Archive in the driver download form in order to find the Tecra M7 series.
    >Also does anyone no where I can get 1 of the pens from?
I think all parts could be ordered from local Toshiba ASP

  • Where to find adobe photoshop elemnts10 for photographers iPad app

Where to find iPad app Adobe Photoshop Elements10 for Photographers? It is on the net but not in the iTunes apps

I have heard that Adobe Flash Player and Apple OS & iOS do NOT care much for each other.
Now half of Youtube videos would NOT play and many websites would NOT show on my Mac computer.
    This is absolutely rediculous!
Because of the unfair monopoly, I have switched from Microsoft Windows PC to Apple Mac system a few years ago.
Is it a MUST and worthy for corporations to compete each other by screwing up customers like this?
    What a shame!
Big things have small beginnings and so do big failures!
I think I will delay the idea of buying any more OS or iOS products until I can easily watch all the Youtube videos and browse all the websites!

  • Hi, how do I manage storage? Disk Utility says "other" is taking up most of my storage but I don't know where to find "other".  Please help!

Hi, how do I manage storage? Disk Utility says “other” is taking up most of my storage but I don’t know where to find “other".  Please help!

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
              iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside a photo or iTunes library will corrupt the library. Changes to such a library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper 2>&-
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective 2>&-
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ignore any other messages that appear in the Terminal window.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • Edit css for a theme

    Hi,
How can we edit the css file for a built-in theme? Can we upload a new css file and use it instead of the default css, if so how?

I'm not sure, whether you want to create new substitution strings or change the values for existing ones.
I assume you want to set the values.
It is rather hard to give you a complete reference here since there are really a lot of substitution strings. As with variables in common programming environments, each of them has a predefined scope.
#HOME_LINK# for instance is usually defined on application level and its definition is located differently in different versions of APEX: For 3.2 it is
Shared Components >> Definition >> Security >> Home Link
whereas 4.0 is organized a little different:
Shared Components >> Security Attributes >> Home Link
#LOGO# is a value to be found in
Shared Components >> Definition >> Logo
    in both 3.2 and 4.0.
There are several points in the documentation where you find the hints you are searching for, e.g. you find the substitution strings for the scope "page template" documented here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/themes.htm#BABBABDJ (4.0-Documentation)
The built-in (global) substitution strings are documented here:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/concept.htm#BEIIBAJD (4.0 again, look into the version that corresponds to your development environment).

P.S.: If you intend to define your own substitution strings, the Definition >> Substitution is the right place to look.

  • SB Live Platinum 5.1 and Win XP Media Edition 2

Just a quick question to see if I am heading in the right direction, I have an intel p4 board with an Intel 2.4 ghz chip previous OS was Win XP Pro with sp2....the card ran fine...the odd application that came with the card didn't but overall...life was good..
Then I upgraded the system, same board, same cpu, radeon 9000 pro video card, tv wonder capture card, new OS (Win Media Edition 2005). first loaded old drivers for SB Li've CD then updated all drivers and apps for creatives site..now can't seem to get li've dri've recognised, remote center doesn't seem to work launcher doesn't work and have no sound, at all. Also getting message from Windows "that one or more drivers failed to load at start up" and audio drivers for mixer driver, and sound font settings, as well as mixer settings all failed diagnostics (creatives diagnostics tool)
As I am still fairly new on the software end I thought I would look here before I got things too messed up.
Is there a SB Li've driver issue with Win Media Edition or should i just try a driver reload?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as my time just seems to be becoming more and more limited...(isn't everyone's!)
Thanks in advance for any help.

Well, just thought I'd update everybody (you know...me, myself, and I),
As I said previously, i upgrade the system with a larger hard dri've, tv capture card, and a new O/S
Thats where life went sour....my SB Li've platinum 5. digital sound card ( which I must say I was very fond of...) wouldn't work
Tried a clean uninstall/ reinstall of my card and drivers...no go
made sure that I had the latest creative drivers for XP Pro....no go
checked to see that there were no outstanding bios/ mobo updates that needed to be installed...no go
moved the card from the pci slot that it had previously worked fine in (under XP Pro no less)... no go
made sure O/S was completely updated... no go
no adware/spyware etc. ..... no go
checked for any hardware/software conflicts... no go
disabled all virus, spyware, firewall programs.. no go
performed clean boot of XP as per MS instructions....no go and I might add screwed up my system so badly that I had to perform a fresh install of the OS (and yes I followed their instructions to the letter!)
finally, I removed the sound card and went with my onboard audio...fixed...cost priceless!
Now as no one has posted to this thread but me, I am going to add my opinion to this forum
To date I have NEVER, EVER ran anything but a Creative sound card because they have always provided the best products and software for the audiophile...well nothing lasts forever.
I really didn't want to ditch my card as I purchased it weeks after it was released and it has seen win 98, win 98se, win me, win xp pro sp, win xp pro sp2, and finally win mce 2005 as well as numerous hardware upgrades come and go, and has always performed beautifully.
Until now that is. Judging from what I have run into and what I have seen on these forums, covering the li've,audigy, and audigy 2 series cards....there is a major problem here, these cards were all designed to be upgradeable over time! Now I can understand Creative's point of view, it costs a lot of time and money to resurch and design new drivers (particularly with microsofts insistance on driver signing and compatibility)....but I also understand and sympathize with the large number of people frustrated with their product and Creative, in many cases we also have a large cash outlay into Creative's products (in some cases 2 or 3 hundred dollars or much more!), so is it really too much to ask that we can still get updated drivers for some of these older cards with similar if not identical cpu/chipset designs?!?
Not to mention the fact that, for the newer users anyway, the whole driver update procedure should not be as complicated as brain surgery!!! Our li'ves are already complicated enough..
Sorry to go on..but these are just my thoughts on the subject.
    Good luck all!

  • Difference between Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1 (Tablet Edition) and Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1

I am trying to pull a report for all Windows 7 machines. But, i could find 2 attributes in view V_r_system that are operating_system_name_and0 and operatingsystem0 where I can get the OS information. Few machines are showing as "Microsoft Windows NT
Workstation 6.1" on operating_system_name_and0 and few are "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1 (Tablet Edition)".
I am so curious to know about "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1 (Tablet Edition)", so I just compared those machines with V_GS_Computer_system view to know whether these machines are a normal Laptop or Tablet based laptop. But, those are ALL
NORMAL LAPTOPS ONLY. however, those machines OSes are showing as "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1 (Tablet Edition)".
But, the build numbers and OS versions are same as "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1" machines. So,
I could not find any difference between "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1" machines and "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1 (Tablet Edition)" machines in terms of models number , OS build number.
Could someone of you please why the operating_system_name_and0 attribute shows as "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 6.1 (Tablet Edition)" for part of the machines.

    Thanks for your reply.
How do we check without RDP on those machines? Because, I have around 11,000 machines which are showing as "Microsoft
Windows NT Workstation 6.1 (Tablet Edition)" out of 40,000 machines.
