Where to install designer.sar on ITS

Hi,
I have ITS 6.20.
Can any one let me know the procedure to install designer.sar, which is used for style sheet generation.
Provide me also with rele4vant note/documentation.
Please reply to me urgently.

Trouble installing Designer Repository under XE

I have installed Oracle 10g XE on another PC (as a test system), and I have the XE Client on my own laptop. I also have SQL Designer installed, and both can talk to the copy of XE just fine. However, when I try to install the Designer Suite, I've run into a couple of major problems, primarily with the repository.
I seem to be able to create the repository ok, but when I try to install it, I get the error messages (shown below) when I get to the step called "cksysfol.sql". I let the Repository installation process continue, and no other errors were raised.
I tried to research this on Oracle's discussion forums, and found very little that addresses anything like this. Several posts suggest that creating a Designer Repository is not possible under XE. Other posts seem to indicate that other people have been successful in installing a Designer repository. I also found references that said I needed to enable "Fine-Grained Access Control" as part of the original database installation process, but I didn't see any place where that was even an option.
I need to install Designer because I need access to the Entity Relationship Diagram feature for a project I'm working on.
What do I need to do to get the Repository installed correctly?

This is a bit late, but in case you were still interested, I have successfully installed Designer repositories on XE. Just make sure the repository owner has the correct db privileges as well as quota on the repository tablespaces.

Where to install Thunderbird on Mac OSX for multiple users.

Hello,
I would like to install the email program Mozilla Thunderbird on my Mac OSX (10.4.6) computer which is set up with several different user accounts. I am not sure where to install it so that everyone may be able to use it. I would like to install it once so that everyone may use it rather than installing it multiple times (once for each user).
As you might already know, in Mac OSX when you install a program in the main applications folder, it is available for everyone who uses the computer (available to all accounts). However, the trouble is, that although the actual Thunderbird program is available to all users the profile is not. The profile obviously is an important component of the Thunderbird mail program as it contains all the actual mail messages. When Thunderbird is installed, by default the profile folder is placed in the users home Library folder at:
users home folder/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/<Profile name>/
This location make it impossible for other users to access the profile and therefore Thunderbird will not work for the other users.
What should I do?
I have a couple solutions, however I would like to ask for some advice on what others do in this situation which I am sure is fairly common.
Here are my solutions:
1. Move the profile folder to a custom location that is accessible by all users in OSX such as the global Library folder (rather than the user's Library folder). Path of global Library folder:
/library/
Then let Thunderbird know it was moved to this custom location using Thunderbird's profile manager.
2. Try to figure out a way in mac OSX that allows the profile folder at this default location:
users home folder/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/<Profile name>/
to be accessible by all users.
Ownership and permissions need to be changed for the profile folder maybe?
3. Install thunderbird multiple times - once for each user - each with their own profile. The problem with this is then there will be multiple installations of the same program and they will not be able to share the same profile folder - which is what I would like to do - if possible.
I have a feeling that solution 1 is the more logical solution.
PS I am using Mac OS 10.4.6 (Tiger) with Thunderbird 1.5.0.4

Thanks Mulder and Scott! I am sure glad I asked for your advice. I am completely new to the multi-user environment of OSX - as you can tell. (I guess I am still in OS9 thinking mode where there was only one user.)

Interesting. Thanks for pointing this out Scott. Good to know. This would seem to me to be similar to IMAP in some ways. This would be a good way to work in a multi-user environment. This is good info to be aware of.

Thanks to both of you for steering me aware from the difficulty of attempting to place the profile folder outside the home directory. This sounds like it would have been more work than necessary.
Why am I not using Apple's Mail program? Good question. I thought I would try out Thunderbird for a while - and maybe switch to Apple Mail later - just to see which one I prefer. I am a web developer and I have always liked the open source community and I thought it would be beneficial for me to become as familiar as possible with all the Mozilla products (Firefox and Thunderbird). As well, it keeps me somewhat on the same wavelength as my PC friends, of whom many use this program too. I don't want to be too much out of touch with my mac. I might try Mail later. Thunderbird has been great so far. It has excellent spam recognition abilities and you can train it too to detect spam.

I have learned a lot from this post. This gives me a few logical solutions. As Mulder points out it is best to keep users' profiles separate. This makes it simpler. Excellent advice. I could still install the Thunderbird application in the global application folder and then each user account can open this Thunderbird application from their own account and configure the mail client with their own profile. All users will be using the same Thunderbird application but with their own profiles. Yes, thats it. I tried this out and it seems to work now - didn't seem to work earlier because I didn't know what I was doing
Another idea could be, if I really need to share one single profile, would be to follow Scotts advice and just set up a "Family account". Very simple solution. Nice idea.
So, those are the two top solutions.
Furthermore, I could use a mix of both strategies. For mail accounts that could be shared ([email protected]) I could create a "Family account" in OSX, as Scott detailed above, and then for mail accounts that are for each individual user ([email protected]), I could be sure they have separate profiles as detailed in Mulder's post.

I am designing an INVERTER circuit in MULTISIM COMPONENT EVALUATOR 12.0 software.
but on doing so I can't find the IC (Integrated circuit) CD4047. I have tried to search CD4047 match component (can replace it) on the internet but not found?
1. What can I do or how can I replace its Match component?
2. In future when I design in Multisim, when I coudn't get components in the data base of MULTISIM, what solutions can you give me?

There is the CD4538 which I believe is a similar chip (its dual - so you get 2).
1. If you locate the CD4047 model online, or you can use 1/2 of the CD4538, you can use the Component Wizard to import a custom component into Multisim.
2. There are various techniques to get models/parts into Multisim.   If you can find an equivalent model you can use you can create a part using the Component Wizard.   There are various SPICE modeling marco modeling techniques for creating models, but the complexity depends on the type of part and how much detail you need from the model.   The best method is to locate the SPICE model from the manufacturer and follow our Component Wizard steps to import the new model into a Multisim part (usually with the most challenging step being the symbol - spice model mapping).

Problems installing Designer 6.0 on Oracle 8.1.7

I'm trying to install Designer 6.0 for NT on an Oracle 8.1.7 database running on Win2K. When compiling the package cioue_element_type the server "hangs". I have to shutdown the database to get rid of the process.

I had the same problem. Oracle gives as an answer that Designer 6.0 is not supported against 8.1.7. In the specified package a statement is issued which is a problem for 8.1.7. I changed that package and now it works fine.
Comment as below and replace with the delete statement, then it compiles fines.
I don't know if any problem can occur after that, but a Migration from a 1.3.2 repository to 6i works fine through this repository. Hope this helps.

Installing Designer 6i

I just downloaded Oracle 8.1.6 and Designer 6i. I installed the database on a Win2000 station and all seems to work well. Then I installed Designer 6i on a Win98SE station. I tried to connect to the DB with SQL*Plus 8 and all work. Now, I want to use Designer. I can't because "the user does not have an installed Repository". So I open the Repository Administration Utility to create it and I click on Install button. A window appears where I can choose for a Small, Medium or Large Repository Size. I choose Medium, I click on Start and this error msg appears:
CDR-21207: Executable File Not Found.
Does someone have the same problem?

I have this same setup as you, but I did not get the error. Did you download the install documentation? It is actually very good in the 6i version. Did you create the correct tablespaces or just lumping them all together? Follow the Oracle Designer 6i Installation Guide, if you aren't already doing so.
I had no problems.

Problems Installing Designer 6.0 over Oracle 8i (Linux SUSE 8.0)

I have problems installing Designer 6.0 over Oracle 8i (Linux SUSE 8.0). When I try to create the repository the installation hang up. I try over Oracle 8i (WIndows 2000) and the problems remain.
Please any body can help?
Is it possible to install Designer 6i and generate forms 6.0 (I mean for using Developer 6.0 (NOT 6i))?

Why is Firefox connecting to the Internet and installing updates when I have checked the option to "Check for updates, but let me choose where to install"?

Problems encountered while installing designer 6i - RAU

Hi all,
While installing designer 6i on Windows XP with Oracle 9i DB, i am having a problem.
When the RAU views are created, one of the sql file has a view with a column as "CONSTRAINTS" and since its a reserved word, RAU exits showing application error.
Pls help me solve this.

I have the exact same problem. The repository install is trying to create a view that has a column named "CONSTRAINTS"...when the install reaches that point, it errors out saying that it cannot find the expected constraint definition. I have no idea how to fix this. I was thinking I would edit the script to change the column name, but anticipate this would cause further problems.

Cc won't install on imac, says its damaged and to download and reinstall. tried that and can't get it to install, any ideas?

Bought a new 27" mac and did a data migration from the old mac. The creative cloud app will not install as it says its damaged, and prompts to download it. Every time i try to install it crashes and says cc is needed for this problem, and i go round in circles....Any ideas please?

You should not have to uninstall Premiere Elements 12/12.1 in order to install and run Premiere Elements 13 on the same computer unless your computer is overloaded and the computer resources are compromised. Just use one program at a time.
Can you still use 12/12.1 on this same computer that will not let you use 13?
What specific Window operating system are you using?
Let us go through the usual drill...
1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
2. Are you using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
3. Did you install the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
4. Disable the SLCache Folder found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit

and in the Adobe Folder should be the SL Cache Folder that you delete or disable by renaming the Folder
from SLCache to SLCacheOLD.
5. Are you running the program as Administrator and is the latest version of QuickTime installed on the same

settigns>itunes and app store to make sure you are signed in.. If you are, you will see your account name..... anyhow, click your account name, sign out and sign back in
also go to to settings>general>reset and reset network settings... if that doesnt work settings>general>reset and reset all settings!

After connecting to MacBook Pro, where is installed all latest software, iPad is recognised as "iPad", Serial Number: n/a. iTunes run recovery mode, trying to restore iPad firmware, and in the end unknown error occured (3). Tried many times, not results. And now iPad stays only in recovery mode, can't switch it off. How can I solve this problem please?

When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547
