  • Where to get Reader 9 MSI-file for deployment?

    Hu all,
where can I get the fitting MSI file for deploying Reader 9?
There's only the EXE file from Adobe to get.
    Please help.
    Regards
    Davorin

Well, Adobe support has answered that is an issue of free software and thus not supported.
    Great!
But I think I found a solution by myself:
    After installation there's a directory:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Setup Files
where a msi file is located.
I will try to copy the whole dir and test, if this is enough for deployment.

I have been unable to update of uninstall and reinstall as I keep getting an error message indicating that the iTunes.msi file is not correct, how do I reinstall the software, at this point I no longer have access to iTunes?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get aCode 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Unable to locate itunes.msi file

I am trying to upgrade my iTunes to iTunes 10 and it keeps telling me it is unable to locate the iTunes.msi file. I read the previous posts but the windows installer cleanup utility tool is no longer available to download. I have tried to delete all aspects of iTunes and its programs, plus the recycle bin but it still won't work. Any ideas?

I read the previous posts but the windows installer cleanup utility tool is no longer available to download.
Yes, that's the main trouble with .msi errors nowadays. First we have to try to hunt down a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try reinstalling iTunes again. Does the install go through properly this time? If so, are you able to launch iTunes without the error message?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Need help to get Adobe Reader 9/X .msi files

I've applied for the distribution of Adobe reader and got a url to download the reader from.
The annoying thing is that the reader files I can download are still only .exe files.
Where can I get the .msi files from?
I've read in the forum that there is the ftp.adobe.com access, but how can I get access to that server?
I've tried the user and password I've used for deployment application but still no success.
    Any help would be great.
    Thank you.

You can access the FTP server files through your browser: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/ - no special password required; you can login as 'anonymous' user.
The MSI files are typically in the main versions: 9.0, 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4.0

  • I lost an .msi file and cannot do updates, how do i fix the file?

I lost an .msi file and cannot do updates to my Itunes system, Apple has not been abe to help, where do i find the .msi file or how do i repair the system?  All prior updates to the system have worked, but the latest 10.5.2 will not update due to this lost file.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

Doesn't matter, you wanted to use group policy to assign the MSI over the network anyways, right.

    * 1 - Click the Windows "Start" button and type "gpedit.msc" and press "Enter." This is the shortcut command to open the group policy editor.
    * 2 - Double-click the "Computer Configuration" icon to expand some options. Click "Software Settings." Right-click "Software Configuration" and select "New Package" to open a "New Package" wizard.
    * 3 - Click the "Open" button and point to the location of your MSI file. This can be on a network drive, or on the network server. Click "Open" to save the location.
    * 4 - Click the "Assigned" option and click "OK." The "Assigned" option assigns it to network users. You can disable the package in the future by editing the group policy properties and removing this check box.
    * 5 - Click "OK" to save your package. The new package is shown in the details pane and it takes effect the next time your users log in to the network.

  • How to Uninstall Crystal Reports installed via .msi file

    Post Author: epowers0213
    CA Forum: General
    Hello,
We are installing crystal reports on some clustered servers using the CRRedist2005_x86.msi so that a web application which uses Crystal Reports will run properly.  (Visual Studio is not installed on these servers.)
If there is any problem caused by running the CRRedist2005_x86.msi program, how could we back out the installation/uninstall this version of Crystal Reports?  Our server administration group wants me to provide an "uninstall program" just in case running the .msi file causes problems for any of the other applications on the server.  However, I have not been able to find any information on this on the Business Objects web site (apart from some manual uninstall directions).
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you in advance!

XMI is XML with a specified format.
Looking at the XMI format definition for the XML, it doesn't appear if it will automatically be consumed by Crystal.
Crystal expects relational, rather than hierarchial, data - so you'd need to find a way of exposing the data within XMI as a relational dataset.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda
