Sonia,
These terms are used within APO Detailed Scheduling (part of PP/DS) module. They can be found in certain master data (PPMs and PDS's) and they are used in various scheduling tasks: heuristics, DS planning board, optimizer.
Online help about production order time intervals in scheduling can be found at
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm70/helpdata/EN/5f/e9693728e52456e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm
and related pages.
It is quite a daunting task to maintain data that meets a set of business requirements unless you have extensive knowledge of PP/DS. Since you have never done this before, I strongly recommend that you engage an experienced PP/DS resource to assist you in this area. You can spend weeks and weeks using trial and error methods in varying the many interrelated parameters that will have an impact on scheduling. Then, when the client asks you to 'tweak' the results, more weeks.
If you feel compelled to attempt this on your own anyway, then I also suggest that you will get more answers if you post such questions in one of the SCM/APO forums. I suggest that you first read the above mentioned help, including all the subordinate pages and the contained links, before you ask more detailed questions.
Best Regards & Good Luck,

Maintain Structure Relations - LSMW - IDOC method
Hi,
Trying to use LSMW Idoc method to upload BP masters.
Have maintained the ports, partner types, message types etc. When I reach the "Maintain structure relationship" step, I have a very big tree structure under EDI_DC40 when am trying to maintain the structure relationship between the source and the target in LSMW idoc method.
Do I need to maintain my relationship at all the levels of the tree structure under EDI_DC40 or can I choose the nodes that are relevant and maintain a relationship only for them?
Is there a short cut or a way where I can maintain relationship for each node under the target strucute EDI_DC40.
Appreciate your inputs.
SKHi SK,
There is no need to maintain EDI_DC40.
In 'Maintain Structure Relations' step, you just need to create Relationship for the structure you want the information be uploaded in the BP. Mapping of the fields in the structure to your upload file's values will be done in next step. Hope the above helps -
LSMW - Maintaining structure relations
I am trying to upload customer records using LSMW. There are two source structures (one for customer header and the other for customer-contactingperson which is item level). I completed first three steps. I am stuck at 'Maintain structure relations' step. How do we assign the structures here?
There are lot of things like BKNA1, BKNB1, BKNBK..so on but I am kind of clueless to which source structures I have to assign these target structures. Can you please help with this or are there any general rules here to go through this step with out any errors?
Thank you very much.In my header structure, I have following fields:
Customer Number Name Street City Zipcode Country Language TelephoneNumber
In my contact structure (which is item level), I have the following fields:
CustomerNumber LastName FirstName FormofAddress Department Position TelephoneNumberContact
From 'Migrating your SAP data' (book from SAP press), I see that they
- assigned source header structure to BGR00, BKN00, BKNA1 and BKNB1.
- assigned souce contact structure to BKNVK.
It is clear to me that we have to assign the header data to all required structures (which came up as BGR00, BKN00 and BKNA1 in my example). But how do I know that I also have to assign it to BKNB1?
If you can help with this question, my problem is solved.
Thanks a lot! -

CTM planning for process industry
Hi,
We are taking CTM planning run in a process industry scenario where we are having continuous processing. But when we do CTM planning CTM creates PP/DS planned order to meet the delivery date of orders and for some orders their are unscheduled gaps between operation due to non availability of next resource.
Is it possible to create orders in CTM without any unscheduled gaps between the operations as is the case in case of orders created using PP/DS?

Sanjog MishrikotkarHi kiran Ghule,
With the functions of the Quality Management (QM) module, you can implement it.
The QM application component supports tasks associated with quality planning, quality inspection and quality control. In addition, it controls the creation of quality certificates you can do this
Explore your self in this module if any problem then come back.

Where we maintain the cost of characteristics values in variant conf.
Hello guys,
This thread i have posted many times in sdn , but never got the satisfactory answer. This time again i am trying my luck.
Actually i am unable to understand how costing takes place in variant configuration.
Suppose i have created one sales order for configurable material and there we select all the characteristics values which we want.
But we don't maintain the prices of these characteristics values anywhere. So when i create the sales order than how the sales people calculate the cost of that order.
Take a example of computer. For making computer,i want cabinet, processor, Harddisk, Ram, which are available in many sizes. So What we do that we create one configurable material and inside it we maintain all this characteristics and its values. And then i create one sales order for that configurable material and select the suitable characteristics and its values as reqd my customer.
Now my question is how they cost that sales order? As we don't maintain the Accounting and costing view in material master of configurable material.
So where to maintain the prices of these characteristics values?
Plz guide.Hi
You can make the price of a variant dependent on the characteristic values assigned (Pricing). You can use
variant conditions to define surcharges and discounts for a variant
Variant u2013Pricing steps
Create condition record
create a procedure where you enter the reference from the characteristic
Assign the procedures to either the characteristic values
configure the material in the sales order
The net price for the material is displayed
If a value that triggers a variant condition is selected when configuring a material in a sales order, the price of the material displayed under Net value is automatically increased or reduced.
In addition, the Conditions pushbutton is displayed.
On pressing this pushbutton,
One can see which conditions have
influenced the price.
I tried to list you as much detail as possible. Hope that you will be able to resolve your issue

F110 bank charges where to maintain??
Dear Expert,
I am configuring the automatic payment and client required that the bank charges bear by which party will depend on the transaction. I know that I could maintain the instruction key on vendor master data to inform SAP whether bank charges is deduct from beneficiary account or payer account.
However, for example, for overseas transfer the client need to pay USD10 for bank charges, I mainatained the instruction key 13 on the vendor master data that it pay by beneficiary account. But where to maintain in SAP the USD 10 so when I run F110 the USD 10 bank charge will deduct from the total amount pay and post it to bank charges account?
Thanks
MaxHi Zubin,
As far as I know the setting you suggested is only for pritning on the form and no bank charges poting will be carried on. Further more, the setting is only allowed to maintain one currency for bank charges but my problem is the bank charges could be in different currencies.
Dear other experts,
If you have better solutions appreciate you could share with me.
Thank you. -
Where we maintain the CST & VAT numbers for a plant which is not a register
Hi All,
Where we maintain the CST & VAT numbers for a plant which is not a registered for Excise?
we are printing it on the invoice output. on debugging it is known that it comes from the table AUSP, after checking the table CABN.
Any body knows about these two tables? let me know the purpose of these tables
thanks in advance,
VenkatMr Big Screams.....
I hope you have neigther read my reply completely nor understood correctly.
Let me tell you, maintaining record in J1ID in Plant address details doesnt declared that plant is registered under Excise act until unless you maintain ECC details. ( ECC -Excise Control Code number which will be alloted by the Central Excise dept).
You will find CST / VAT fields in J1ID which is actually given to maintain Plant address details for INDIA localization.
Hope its clear.

Explain Plan - Parallel Processing Degree of 2 and CPU_Cost
Explain Plan - Parallel Processing Degree of 2 and CPU_Cost
When I use a hint to use parallel processing with a degree of 2
the I/O cost seems consistently divided by (1.8) but the cpu cost
adjustment is inconsistent(between 2.17 and 2.62).
Any ideas on why the cpu cost varies with each table ?
Is there a formula to adjust the cpu_cost ?
Thanks,
Summary:
The i/o cost reduction is consistent (divide by 1.8)
Table 1: 763/424 = 1.8
Table 2: 18774/10430 = 1.8
Table 3(not shown): 5/1.8 = 3
But the cpu cost reduction varies:(between 2.17 and 2.62)
Table 1: 275812018/122353500 = 2.25
Table 2: 7924072407/3640755000 = 2.17
Table 3(not shown): 791890/301467 = 2.62
Example:
Oracle Database 10.2.0.4.0
Table 1:
1.) Full table scan on Table 1 without parallel processing.
EXPLAIN PLAN FOR select/*+ CPU_COSTING
PARALLEL(table_1,1)*/
* from table_1
SQL> select cost,io_cost,cpu_cost from plan_table;
IO_COST CPU_COST
763 275812018
2.) Process Table 1 in parallel with a degree of 2.
EXPLAIN PLAN FOR select/*+ CPU_COSTING
PARALLEL(table_1,2)*/
* from table_1
IO_COST CPU_COST
424 122353500
Table 2:
3.) Full table scan on Table 2 without parallel processing.
EXPLAIN PLAN FOR select/*+ CPU_COSTING
PARALLEL(table_2,1)*/
* from table_2
IO_COST CPU_COST
18774 7924072407
4.) Process Table 2 in parallel with a degree of 2.
EXPLAIN PLAN FOR select/*+ CPU_COSTING
PARALLEL(table_2,2)*/
* from table_2
IO_COST CPU_COST

SAP PP: In BOM how to where to maintain the details like Length, Width and Quantity
Dear All,
In SAP PP where to maintain the details like Length, Width, Quantity of the material for production information.
Eg:
Client will procure a material of 10milli meter Thickness Mild Steel material of fixed dimensions lets say 4meters x 4Meters
{so the material dimensions are 4000Milli Meter (Length) x 4000Milli Meter (Height) x 10milli meter (Breadth) Mild steel Sheet}
For production the above plate is to cut into desired sizes as per the drawings given by Design Department of "N" no qtys.
(let say in drg for the component the desired sizes are 1000Milli Meter (Length) x 1000Milli Meter (Height) x 10milli meter (Breadth) of 4Nos}
In BOM where all we can maintain the above details. The same details wants to send it to production for their quick reference.
Also how the system will calculate the weight automatically for procuring of raw material with the above details.
Note: Purchase department will procure the full length as i mentioned above but not the desired lengths to be produce for production.
Pls let me know if any further information required for the solution to suggest.
rgds,
VKUMAR AHi,
You can use two options...
1. Classification...create characteristics like length, height and breadth with CT04, assign these chars to class (CL01) and assign this class to your raw material in classification view in material master (MM02). When you receive the material from vendor during GR enter the values for characteristics. (activate Batch management).
Now when you create the Production Order, in the components for this raw material, assign the batch..
When this is issued against the Production order , production people can see the details of values in the batch...
2. Try to explore the option of variable size item concept during creation of BOM..
Thanks

Suresh.Hello Suvin,
You can try to check the value for your return sales order with T-code MB51
Go to MB51 Enter Movement type 651 execute..
Next screen Press Ctrl + Shift + F12 . It will take you to next screen..
In this screen use Ctrl + F8, you will get field Column selection Popup..
in that Choose " Amount in LC" & Sales Value.
With this you will get the value. If the value is Zero then it means that the return stock from customer is non valuated.
Note:
T.Code MB52 : Display Warehouse stock of Material in Hand.
App:lication
You use this report to display the total stock of a material (quantity and value) at plant and storage location level. If transit stocks or stock transfer stocks exist at plant level, the system totals these stocks and displays them in the column In Stock Transfer in a stock line without a storage location.
Note that in this report, the stock value of the warehouse stock is calculated using the following simplified formula:
Stock value = quantity x value/valuated stock
Therefore the stock value specified here only has informal characters and does not represent the actual stock value.

A place to maintain planned downtime
Hi all, are there any SAP standard functionality to maintain planned downtime? In Solution Manager? Another central place in the SAP landscape?
Users should be able to see when the system will be unavailable, and get warnings or messages before the system is down. Do I have to create a table and abap programs/function modules for this?
I need a place for external and internal partners to look up and check when the system will be down.Hi Rune,
This is a standard BASIS activity. Contact your BASIS team to do it T. Code SM02.
