Where to now with my 'old' Apple TV?
As far as I understand the situation now with Apple TV, my 'old' ATV with onboard storage has been dropped by Apple. Does this now mean that if my current one fails I am faced with the options of either searching for a used one or abandoning my current setup altogether whereby my music files are stored on my ATV and played through my lounge stereo system?
I don't want to stream from my PC, so in dropping the ATV with storage where does Apple expect me to go?

True, but the bottom line is that my experience with the black Apple tv doesn't match that of the White one, airplay doesn't make up for the simplicity of just works, works well and works quickly.
i find using the "unwatched" sub-menu now makes it easier to find stuff, as 95% of the time you'll be watching something that is new anyway.
I like to rewatch a lot of my home made movies, I also rewatch a lot of science documentaries and my son may watch something in his bedroom and we may want to watch it later in our bedroom for example. The unwatched menu doesn't help at all in those cases. I think the fact that you now use the unwatched menu as a workaround and that it only works 95% of the time for you indicates that you too have found it less convenient.
Don't get me wrong, the black Apple tv is a great device, had it have been the first in the line I may not have any complaints, but when it follows the White version, it sort of feels like in some areas we've gone from the internal combustion engine back to the horse.

Apps are always tied to the ID that was used to purchase them originally. Did you try entering your old password and see if that works?
If you need to sign out of your old account go to Settings>Store>Tap on your ID and sign out. Sign in with the new one.
you can also access your ID in the featured tab of the App Store. Swipe to the bottom of the screen and you will find it there as well. -

Content is tied to the account that bought/downloaded it and it can't be copied or transferred to a different account - for apps only that account can download updates to them. So if you downloaded it via one account and then created a new account, you will need to use the original account to download updates or authorise it on your computer's iTunes.

I recently changed from my old Iphone 5 to a new one. The Apple ID that comes up when signing into iCloud is my old Apple ID, yet the correct one is shown on iTunes and apps. I can't change the Apple ID to the correct one, and am unable to restore my latest back up from icloud. I have tried everything, but I can' t change the Apple ID on the phone. It stays greed out. My Apple ID is correct on my ipad and when I log into my iCloud account via the internet. How do can I fix this?
Skip the iCloud sign in for now.
Once you reach the home page, go to settings and sign out of FaceTime and Messages. This should also sign you out of iCloud.
Go to iCloud in settings and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
If that does not work
Skip the iCloud sign in
Go to Apple ID.apple.com and sign in
Change your Apple ID to the old one
Delete iCloud account on your device with the old Apple ID and the same password.
Go back to the website, change your Apple ID back to the current one. You will receive an email to verify the account. Verify first.

How do i figure out which email is associated with an old apple id
I have songs from an old ipod that I no longer know the apple ID password to. I now have an iphone and a new laptop that I want to make sure I can listen to all my music on. The birthdate doesn't match with my old apple ID and I havve no idea what email address the link is sent to. Help!!

Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them. -

I entered an invalid email when I first set up my iPhone 5s and forgot the password for the Apple ID. I managed to successfully change the Apple ID and password and validated it through email. However when I tried to download something from the App Store it still came up with my old apple id so I can't download anything. How can I fix this?
It appears that you have apps that need updating that were pruchased from more than one account
- Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into your account.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -
I've changed my Apple ID password and when I go to the Apple ID link the changes have been emailed and are all verified. However, when I try to do something with an App or iTunes etc on my iPhone 5 it still comes up with my old Apple ID and asks me for the password and I don't have the option to overtyped the Sppld ID section with the new email I've set. I can't update Apps or buy Apps because of this. Any ideas?
ThanksSign out and back into your apple id from Settings>iTunes and App stores>(Your apple ID)>Sign Out and then sign in again with the new address. Close app store from running in the background (or restart the phone if your unsure how to do this). If when trying to update any apps they are still asking for the old apple ID, delete and re-install those apps.

I can't sign in with my old email and password because it has been deleted to make the new one, so how do I get the previous apps to upgrade, if possible? I have read a lot about using the same password for all apple emails or id's, but can you go backwards and add the old one back in. Again I am not sure I am making this clear enough so perhaps that's why I can't get good response.

That's not true. It's one computer at a time, has nothing to do with accounts. If the computer is authorized for both accounts & the music is in the same iTunes library, it will sync just fine to an iPhone.

How can I authorize songs purchased with an old Apple ID?
Apparently I have some songs in my iTunes library that I purchased with an old Apple ID. They won't play on my new computer, because they're not authorized to. But that old ID is connected to an email address that doesn't even exist anymore? I have no idea what the password was. How can I authorize my new computer to play these old songs? Or do I just need to kiss those songs goodbye?

You should have simply updated your AppleID rather than creating a new one.
