Switching from XP Home 32 bit) to 64-bit Windows 7, they only installed the very BASIC version of 1315xi All in One. I need Full
Feature software, including Solution Center, Image Zone if it is still being used, and whatever. I'm an elderly person with rather low vision. May I have links for these two needs? Thank you very much.

I suggest you contact HP for the driver.
1-I cant pick the driver for you because I am unsure if you are 32 bit or 64. Simply use the pull down
here
2-Solution center is something you will have to find (sorry). This is the overall product page

Since you have a new hard drive, there is nothing on it, so you need to boot from an external source (and probably format the hard drive before installing an OS). Are you booting from the 10.6 install disk? Better yet - do you have a bootable backup clone or at least a Time Machine backup?

You can download the full feature software and driver, and only install the basic driver. In the installation you should see the option for custom software. Here is the link to download the software; rw2_021_w02_enu.exe

On a HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-in-One printer, is there a toner and where is it located? I've looked in Products and Supplies and don't see it but my printer is saying that it's low or empty.

By now, you have probably discovered that the L7780 does not use a toner but cartridges. It actually uses 4 HP 88's. They are black, magenta, yellow and cyan. Usually, black is the first to be replaced. They can be found at Staples, Office Depot and Best Buy.

Installation problems Officejet 5610 All in One on Windows 8.1 64 bit

I have a HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One printer that I have had for a few years. It has worked well on the old computer but the computer died. I purchased a new Dell Laptop with the Windows 8.1 64 bit operating system. The printer works fine but the scanner won't work since there is no software in the computer. I went to the HP Support website and tried to down;oad the drivers/software. The download failed 6 times. i finally tried anothe computer and after 4 failures. I was able to down load all 402MB of software. I saved it to a portable USD drive and returned to the Dell. I started the install and got to the begin installation screen. Unfortunately, right after it finished extracting the files. I got a pop up dialog box with the error message "System cannot find file specified". I went to HP Support and the website said to search the Windows file and remane the file extensions on all hpoins*.dat and hpwins*.dat files to .old file extensions. Unfortunately, there aren't any and they don't have any other suggestions.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm sorry to hear you've been having issues getting your Officejet 5610 installed on your new Windoes 8.1 computer but I'm hoping I can help you out
On your new Win 8.1 computer do you have an anti-virus program? Anything like McAffee, Norton, BitDefender, Avast, or anything like that? If you do, it's likely that the firewall within that anti-virus program is blocking part of the install. If you have any anti-virus on your computer you'll need to disable the firewall and the real time scanning within before you try to run the installation again. If you're not sure how, contact the anti-virus company and they should be able to let you know how to do those steps.

Switched from 32-bit XP to 64-bit Windows 7, which did not install all printing features or my scanner. Know a lot of people have this problem, can't find the forum which is exactly for this particular problem, and can't find an HP download. There are so many other companies on the HP Support pages. Might you include on your title page how to re-read this subject?
I'm afraid I'll lose my print and copy functions forever if I first Uninstall. Would checking "Add Printer" preserve my present version until after I get a successful download or maybe even a new Disk for 64-bit Windows 7? I haven't even found that yet. Thanks. [edited by Moderator]

you can reset your password. restart, and hold down Command-s before the apple logo appears (when the screen is white). you will see scrolling scripts until you see something like "root:" then type /sbin/mount -uw / to mount the disk. after that, type sudo passwd admin or whatever your admin password is. type in the new password two times. it doesn't show what you typed when you type the password so make sure you are pressing the right keys. after you done that, type exit to start up the computer. now you will be able to login with the new password.

Which installation disk version is the right one?

Since Apple started making the iMac a generic identifier, I have had a lot of trouble keeping track of which disk to use for repairing or reinstalling the many macs at my company. The disks have no clear identification as to which iMac they are for. Even putting the GHz of the machine would help narrow things down, but all I have to go by is the cryptic AHT version 3A111 or 3A118, which means squat to me. I have probably a hundred sets of disks to look through, and so far 4 different AHT versions have all refused to install a system on my Intel Duo 2.4 GHz iMac.
Is there any guide to which disk came with which machine, so I can go through all these disks and label them so when I need them, I can easily find them?

Call AppleCare to inquire. Those serial numbers are not published anywhere on Google that I can find. Occasionally someone sells these discs, and you get info about which Mac they came with, and then you luck out.
I really miss the days when the Mac said something right on the front of the case like "PowerMac 7200/66," and the disk said something along the lines of "PowerMac 7200/66.
Those days though did get harry. You needed such specific markings. Back then you didn't have just 5 series of Macs going around. At one point the 7200 was out at the same time as the 5200, 6100, 7200, 7500, 8500, 9500, 280c, 150, 520c, 540c, LC580, and Color Classic II. There were no less than 68030, 680LC40, PowerPC 601, PowerPC 603, and PowerPC 604 processors out at the same time. It got real messy. At least now we are done to 3 processors and 5 models. Much simpler that way, if you ask me. Oh and the operating system on the disc in question can usually help identify which Mac it came with.

The PSC 1210 drivers are available from Windows Update, see here. You can go to the Printers folder, Add Printer, Local Printer, LPT1:, Windows Update. If you do not have a high speed internet connection the Windows Update process may be prohibitively slow. In this case you can use the Microsoft Catalog Site to select just the drivers you need. Windows 7 64 bit, changed wireless modem, now c4500 all in one will not print.

I had to have my wireless modem changed and now my 2 laptops will not print. 1). windows 7 64 bit. 2) windows xp, version 2002 service pack 3. The new wireless modem is from ATT u-verse 2wire892. I tried reinstalling on the windows 7 laptop and it tells me can't be installed on that operating system. I had it there before. I ran a Wireless Network Test Report and under the network name it still has the old net name not the new one, how do I change that?

Found diagnostic utility at hp support. Though I lost all jobs in the queue, printer is again working. YEAH!

Deciding on my OS. Is XP Pro with SP2 all on the same CD and ok call or no?
My Setup is MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum and AMD64 3000+.
WIN XP Pro with SP2 on the same CD? Or should I go with XP Pro alone and add SP2 later with the option to remove it if I have problems?

No one that i've heard about if installing from slipstreamed sp2 cd.
The only ones with problems i've noticed is peps that have all kind of software and drivers installed pre sp2 upgrade .
And the upgrade goes bad caused by unidentified installed software and/or drivers that crash with the A64 combined with sp2 DEP technology.
