Where to put Logic Plug-ins?

When using a product like Miroslav Philharmonik, I can get the program to run, but I can not figure out how to make it work with logic. The plug-ins do not show up! Someone please help me know what folders to put what in. Thanks

No, not really... what channel(s) do you mean? I have never seen "strange" channels in Logic (or Philharmonik). A bit more detail, or even screenshots, might help.

Where to put optional plug-ins of CS4 in Windows 7?

At last I succeeded to add the optional plug-ins (contactsheet, picture package) into CS-4 on my laptop
with Windows XP. On my PC with Windows 7 I've tried several maps, but could not find the right one to bring back the contactsheet and picture package to Bridge and CS4.
Could someone shed light on this?

Maps are not the same, I've also tried on a Windows Vista 64-bits system. There are 5 locations where Photoshop maps could be found in Vista:
1- C\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64bit)    (empty)
2- C\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\Automate    (contains Web Contact Sheet II, Photomerge UI, Contact Sheet II)
3-C\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Plug-Ins\Automate   (contains Web Contact Sheet II, Photomerge UI, Contact Sheet II, WIA
     Support, HDR Merge, CropPhotosAuto)
4- C\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CS4\Plug-Ins\           (contains ContactSheet II, Web Contact Sheet II, Photomerge UI)
5- C\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\32bit Photoshop dlls
From Photoshop>Automate> there is no mentioning of contactsheet
From Bridge>Tools>Photoshop>contactsheet Photoshop opens but shows: "The command "unknown" is not currently available"

6.0.6 is CS4, not CS6 (which is version 8).
Why do you need to upgrade plugins? Are you getting an error message trying to pen a file? That meas the file was saved from a newer version of ID, and you'll need either the newer version, or an IDML file exported from the original. You can't upgrade plugins to make this work.

There seem to be quite a few very experienced InDesign SDK programmers that hang around the forum. Which leads me to my question, where are all the plug-ins you guys have been creating. Looking around, there only seems to be about 50 commercially available plug-ins, so where are the rest of them. Do companies hire programmers for in-house plug-ins is that not overkill.
Besides all this, I understand that nobody (including myself) would want to give away secrets about what type of project they are involved in currently, but maybe some of the guys here could tell us who they worked for in the past, how long involved with InDesign SDK, and what type of plug-in they've created.
I realize in this forum, its basically professionals and not just hobbyists, making it harder sometimes to get replies, but maybe some of you will share a little something in this faceless screen-named avatar world.

Many plug-ins are distributed as a part of bigger systems, i.e. CMS. Maybe thats why you've heard only about 50 commercial plugins.

Can Logic plug ins remove background noise from interview?

Can Logic plug ins remove background noise from interview?
A friend with an important interview recorded in noisy conditions has asked me to help remove background noise - never done this technically.
Is there a Logic or third party plug in that would could remove background noise from a spoken word interview? Have tried EQ which improves the sound slightly but not a solution.
Anyone with specialised knowledge of this sound editing operation?

There are several 3rd party denoisers, they mostly work by first 'learning' the noise footprint of the audio, for which it is best to record a few seconds of silence (with an open mic).

Is it that background noise (traffic, talking etc) drowns out the words? Then you'd probably have more luck with (radical) eq-ing and/or notch filtering to find the most dominant frequency range of the speaker in relation to the background noise.
As an interviewer myself I will point out that even with a small disctaphone you need to have some awareness of how the microphone picks up things. As soon as you nead to lean towards whoever you're talking to, just to make sure you're audible, the dictaphone on the table is probably recording mainly ambient noise, the interview being part of that. This is especially a problem when interviewing in a busy public space.

Upgraded to iLife '08. Where do I put the plug-ins to iMovie?

I invested in several plug-ins to previous iMovie (Slick Volume 1-8, eZedia, etc) They're residing in user/Library/iMovie/.
Now I upgraded to '08 but can't find a way to import the plug-ins which makes all projects (8 right now) and about 3 months night work go out the drain.
Or are they not even compatible???????

Tack för hjälpen. I still have iMovie 6.0.4 (thank God, the installation of iLife'08 backed it up for me) so I'm really not in the predicament I hinted about in my quesion above.
I know I should have checked this up earlier. But it's still extremely annoying when a software manufacturer doesn't bother to highlight an issue like this during installation of updates and upgrades since the user rarely think about it (too excited about new software) and since plug-ins more often than not actually work even after installation of the new software...
Ah well.... I suppose this is stuff one has to live with. Thanks for info anyway.

Mountain Lion problems with Logic Plug-Ins

I have just installed the new Mountain Lion, and now my Logic Pro 9 cannot create any more audio or software instrument tracks. I think it has messed up the plug-ins. What should I do to restore my original Logic Pro 9?

3rd party AU plug ins vs Logic Plug ins

has any one got any suggestions of any 3rd party plug ins or instruments that compare or better the Logic ones, i am very happy indeed with what i have at the moment but feel some of the sounds i am getting from the synths are lacking a bit of warmth, maybe i need to dig a little deeper or maybe there are better things out there, obviously the ES2 is a killer piece of software but some of the pads that i am creating are not up to scratch. Is this just me? am i not adding enough plug ins to the synth or is it just not as deep as people say it is? i hear waves are a good too, discuss..............Thanks

Spectrsonics makes stellar AU plug ins. Can't wait for the aforementioned atmosphere to come out as UB this fall.
Also mentioned before, Reason is just a fun program that is very powerful and inspiring.
Odd that many people mentioned the NI products. I would, but after getting FM8, I just can't say I am an NI fan.
FM8 sound great! The software is powerfull, the UI is easy to use, the flexibility is enormous, but I can't recall all the setting of patches with Channel strip settings. I was quite disappointed as I wanted to Use FM8 to give me that DX-7 Rhodes sound to use for live gigs, but recalling a performance channel strip didn't load the envelopes, and the sound just didn't work. I emailed NI and asked what the deal was, and they told me it was a bug, sorry. The only workaround they could give me was to load the patch from FM8 it's self.
I still use FM8 for recordings, but never for live use. I also decided not to try any new NI products fearing more incompatibilities with how I work.
NI's stuff does sound great, but with tweaking I can get most of my other synths to match it.

Where do OnOne Software Plug-ins go

Im on Snow Leopard running Photoshop CS4, when I go to install OnOne Software's Mask Pro 4, it cant find Photoshop it says, even though Photoshop is installed in the Apps folder, can someone tell me the location and path to put this plug-in at.

It's possible that you have plug-ins written for a Mac PPC rather than Universal plug-ins. If you're running Photoshop on a MacIntel, Photoshopwould not see the older plug-ins.
If your system allows you to read Rosetta, you could set Photoshop to launch and run in Rosetta (with a corresponding and brutal performance hit) so that it can see the older plug-ins. Your system may or may not allow that.
Contact the developer and ask them for Universal versions of the plug-ins.

Help with Logic + Plug-ins-- Spinning Wheel of Death

I'm using Logic 9.1.8 with NI's Machine Mikro and a Focusrite 2i2. All of the most recent drivers are installed and I had been using them both in Logic successfully for days until today. Now every time I open Logic, the spinning wheel of death appears and will not go away, leading me to force quit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried erasing the Loop stuff in the Library folder as it has said on other boards. Please .

Thanks for your help. For whoever stumbles upon these postings and happens to have the exact problem is me. I drug the Maschine.component out of the plug-ins folder and on to the desktop, trashed the original, and started Logic Pro. I then went to preferences and made sure that Logic was opening an empty project at the time of launch. Before, when the spinning wheel of death was coming up, it was automatically going to my last project and, I believe, getting tripped up on mounting Maschine. Now everything works fine.

Logic Plug-ins Video Tutorial

Does Apple sell a video tutorial on how to use Logic 7's soft-snyth and effects plug-ins?
I have the books / manuals, but I learn much better with video.
Much like the video Tutorial I purchased with the Absynth 3.
I also would like to get a video on the EX24. Reading the manual gets tricky, especially when you don’t know the terminology.

Where have all the plug-ins gone?

I re-installed InDesign CS3 after my hard drive was wiped clean with the re-installation of Windows XP, and I'm finding that some files won't open. The error messages state that some plug-ins are missing and that the program and/or the plug-ins should be updated. I have run the update for InDesign, but this hasn't helped. I don't know of any separate updates for plug-ins. Any suggestions?

1. Did you use any non-Adobe plugins in your previous installation? If you (or someone else) installed 3rd party plugins, you need to reinstall these as well. (I wouldn't know what "must have" 3rd party plugins there are -- the iTunes player for CS3? Tetris-in-a-panel?)
2. Are you sure you are trying to open CS3 files? Trying to open a CS4 or CS5 file will give the same "helpful error message".

Ok i have used plug-ins etc so i know how they work but here is my question. On my mac there are 2 different plug-ins folders for FCP and both work. So why are there 2 and which one should i use??? Below is the way to get to both folders

Items installed in a relevant folder within the Library folder in your User's home directory (the one with the picture of the little house) are available only to that user.
Items installed in the relevant folder within the Library at the root directory are available only to all user's.
... so if you want an FCP plugin to be available to all users of your computer then install it in the /Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins, otherwise if you want it only available to your user then install it in ~/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/Plugins (that "~" sign signifies your users home folder ... the one with the house icon)

So where can I get authorised Logic plug ins?
