You will need to provide more information in order for people to help you.
Has your drive failed, or do you want to upgrade it?
If the drive has failed, and your PowerBook is either still under the original Apple warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan, then Apple will replace the drive.
If you want to upgrade the drive to a faster or more capacious model, and you either don't want to invalidate the warranty or don't wish to do the job yourself, then you can get a local Apple Authorised Service Provider to carry out the job for a fee. As to which AASP to recommend - I cannot do that as I don't know where you are located.

  • Where to send feature request for router?

Hi, does anyone know where to send feature requests for the router firmware? I want to suggest adding http://www.dnsomatic.com to the supported dynamic dns providers, as it would add tons of services with little work.

Today Verizon made available a new area on the forums called the Verizon Idea Exchange:
    http://forums.verizon.com/t5/Share-Your-Ideas-with-Verizon/idb-p/ideas
Based on the FAQ Verizon has posted it appears this would be a good place to enter your request.

  • Where do I send my iphone for battery replacement??

I've submitted a service request for a replacement battery under the battery recall on some 5 models, but apple hasn't provided an address for me to send the phone to! I've now spent over an hour trying to find it, and I'l be damned if I'm paying to phone.
Any help from anyone else who's had this done would be appreciated!
And I live too far away from an apple store to have it repaired in store.
    Thanks in advance :-)

  • Sending in powerbook for repair

so i sent in my powerbook for repairs on the 24th. i wonder how long it will take before it will be returned to me?
Just curious, if you have sent in your computer to apple before, how long did it take before you got your computer back?

I sent mine in for an MLB & a bottom case assemblage (basically the whole casing of the laptop excluding the display) replacement and its two weeks and counting. It's all down to availability of parts and i can see why the Ti book owner had to wait a month. Only few of those machines are still in circulation/use hence part manufacture is on a need to have basis and not mass produced like the Al books. This would be my theory.

  • Sending iPod in for repair/replacement

I am debating whether I should or not...
    Do I call apple first?
If so, what's the number? (I'm in Canada and I think the closest place is in Toronto)
Do I have to send anything with it? (bill, earbuds, usb cord, etc.)
How long would I have to wait?
Can they replace minis? (I heard they don't make them anymore)
Would I get a nano instead? (I know someone who sent in their video and got a thinner one with a better battery and brighter screen)
I need to know before I decide to send it in...

First of all, why does your iPod need service?
    Alright...
    1. No
    2. There's a link at the bottom if you want it.
    3. No, but there's instructions on the box they send you.
    4. Depends...estimates are about 2 weeks for engraved iPods, 3-4 days for not engraved ipods. However, my engraved one came back in a week and a half.
    5. Yes
    6. No, you'll get back the same model you send in (same generation, Hard Drive size, color, engraving, everything).

    iPod Service Request
    I hope this helps!

  • IPod Battery Problems.. Send in for a replacement?

My iPod is just over a month and a half old. I use it very often. The battery lately takes about 12 to 14 hours to fully charge. Once I get a full charge into the battery, the battery lasts about 10mins, even though I don't play games or scroll alot.. Is there a battery problem here? should I send it in for a replacement? Also, when I get a replacement iPod.. Is it possible to request that my new ipod be a different colour? (I hate my pink iPod)

    welcome!
    1) if your ipod is under warranty, then you should send it in for service/replacement
    2) as for requesting a different color... I would doubt it, but who knows....

  • I bought an Ipad WiFi 3G CDMA (Verizon) model, and am in Ghana and can't use cos it has no sim card slot. Can i take it to the iShop in Gh for a replacement or do i have to buy a new one? Is there an alternate solution?

How can i get it replaced?

As far as I am aware CDMA models are only sold in the US so you would need to take it back to where you bought it from for a replacement or refund (and you would also need to be within that store's refund time period). If you have a non-Verizon iPhone then you might be able to use that with a local micro-sim as a mobile hotspot for the iPad, assuming that your phone carrier supports the personal hotspot function on the iPhone, or you could try getting a mifi device and use that with the iPad

  • Hi how are you i want to replace my iphone 4 with a new one. But i am in Darwin, there is no any apple stores. So where can i send my phone for replacement and how much for that?

Warranty and Support are only valid in the country of origin.  You will need to take the device to whatever country it originally came from.
Apple will not accept shipments from outside the country nor will they return it to an address outside the country.

  • Water spilled on MacBook, need to replace Logic Board--worth it to send it in for total repair (where it will be like "factory new")?

Thursday--I spilled water on the keyboard of my MacBook Pro 15", and it immediately turned off. I unplugged it from the charger and turned it upside down, and then began to dry it off the best i could with a towel while letting it drain. Then I took it straight to the Apple store on my campus, where a technician removed the back, took each part out separately, and then dried it/the parts out the best he could. He advised me to wait a day or two and then try to turn it on.
Saturday--I used a hair dryer on low heat to help dry it out the best I could, and then I tried to turn my computer on. It wouldn't work, but when I plugged it into the charger it did turn on. The screen looked a little waterlogged and was flickering slightly. I took it back to the store and they said that their technician would look at it.
Wednesday--I went back to check on the status of my MacBook, and the guy presented me with two options:
I can replace the Logic Board for approx. $500-600 and be done with it (and eventually the moisture in the screen, which is clear as ever now, will dry up?)
    or
I can send my entire MacBook back to the factory for replacement/repair of anything that might need fixing for around $1300-1400.
I am currently on my MacBook now, and it seems to be working just fine (although it has to stay plugged into a power source because the battery won't charge)...
Money isn't an issue here, yet (it was bought with an AmEx and is covered with that warranty up to a certain dollar amount), but my question is this: Is it necessary for me to replace my Logic Board, if my computer still seems to be working--or will I end up seeing issues down the road if I don't and Should I go ahead and send it in for a full factory repair?? Is it really worth it??
    Thank you!

It would be best to send your MacBook in for a complete overhauled, this will save you time and trouble in the near future.  I am sure you have some items internally that will continue to corrode and render your MacBook inoperable some day soon.

  • Where do I send my iPhone to be replaced

Basically I have arranged for my iPhone to be replaced as it keeps turning off despite having plenty of battery etc. Long story short... Where do I actually send it to!? No info given what so ever as to where to send it in the UK?

I already contacted Apple and they sent a confirmation email stating that they'll send me a replacement once they receive my phone, yet they didn't inform me where I send it... Is your advice applicable to this scenario or one where no contact has been made with apple already? I would have taken it into a store but the nearest one is over an hour away unfortunately.

  • Places to send iBook for HD replacement?

    Hello all!
Where are some places I can send in my 366 FW Indigo iBook for HD replacement? The drive isn't dead yet, but I do have the 'Clicks'.
Also, would a new hard drive make the iBook quiter? The original hard drive seems quite noisy.
So yes, reccomendations for where I can send my iBook to get a new HD would be great! (Too scared to replace it myself).

Take it to an apple store near you, they will replace the HD for you. If you don't know where one is you can call apple help (1800-MY-APPLE) and tell them your zip code they will tell you where the nearest one is to you. If you buy a new HD it will be much quieter than your current HD. In the mean time if you are using macos 9 use disk first aid to repair your HD, that might preserve it a little longer. If you are using mac osx use disk utility (/applications/utilities) to repair the disk.

  • Where can I buy a genuine apple replacement battery (A1309) for my Mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro?

Where can I buy a genuine apple replacement battery (A1309) for my Mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro? There are used batteries on ebay that don't appear genuine. There are some third-party knock offs. The apple store seems to believe they can replace it, but I have to make a reservation at the silly Genius Bar just to have them tell me how much it's gonna cost, not to mention then likely wait for them to order the battery and install it. I'm perfectly capable of installing it myself. I just need to know where I can order it?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Yeah, that's what I've finally decided. I was kidna super frustrated because the first apple store I called wouldn't even tell me a price or tell me if they could replace the battery without a Genius Bar appointment, and as I would have to take off work and drive acros town--and I don't have a car so I'd have to borrow one--that was pretty annoying. That call left me pricing linux laptops. I called another store to see if I'd have better luck, and the initial answer was the same, but the girl relented under some trying-to-be-nice-but-clearly-annoyed pressure, and she gave me the answers I needed: yes, they should have the battery in stock and it should be a same-day replacement that should cost $179.
It just *****, really, because there's so much about Apple that I used to love, and I'm watching it kinda melt away under their success in the mobile market. As a professional user, there's less and less reason to stick with them. Instead of being the best they can be, I feel like they're just trying to be flashier and just a little better than the other mediocre computer companies. Ugh. Anyway, now I'm ranting.
