Where to send application suggested improvements

I have some suggestions for Apple to improve it's Address Book app, but cannot find the email address to send such suggestions. Like in the English edition, why doesn't the address field automatically start numbers as that is the default address format in the US. Any help?

I think it's a great idea making beta projects available for testing - it just seems strange the HELP menu does not have a direct link back to developers that one can easily send comments/suggestions. I hope I'm in the right place now?
My comment with the new version is:
- you still can't see the ACTUAL SIZE of the file, only the original size of the photo. If you have converted the RAW file...to bad.
- you still can't find what the colour space of the photo is - can you?
These would seem to be pretty basic functions such a "high end" programme should be able to deliver.
Do like the new additions though but shame such an easy to use function such as PRINTING does not have ability to see the consequences of different 'rendering intents' on screen.

How to send application acknowledgement from R/3 system

Hi guys,
How to send application acknowledgement from R/3 system. Ex. we have post one IDoc and check user validations. Suppose date is wrong that means indicate earlier or wrong date but date format is correct. In this situation we need send one acknowledment to sender.
How to find the solution? pls tell anyone.

Plz do perform the following steps:
1) In the Integration Server, call transaction SE38
2) Run program IDX_ALEREQUEST to process IDocs with message type ALEAUD as XI request
message.
3) Now Enter Sender Port, Sender Client,Partner Number, Partner Type, and Partner Rol
4) In Integration Directory, configure the routing of interface
5) Call transaction SXMB_MONI to display the XI message.

After you triggered the IDoc by e.g. tcode: WPMA and IDoc reached FILE system, FILE receiver CC actually is only able to send acknowledgment types SystemErrorAck and AckNotSupported.
This is because:
- IDoc sender adapter requests the following acknowledgments:
SystemAckRequested="false"
SystemErrorAckRequested="true"
ApplicationAckRequested="true"
ApplicationErrorAckRequested="true"
- File receiver adapter that run on the Adapter Engine support system acknowledgments and system error acknowledgments if they are requested by the sender. These acknowledgments are triggered when a message is successfully processed by the adapter or if an error occurs while it is being processed.
If you havent suppressed acknowledgments for IDocs WP_PLU in IDX_NOALE in XI then you will get:
SystemErrorAck when message has not reached the FILE system
AckNotSupported for all others acknowledgement types
QQ) Will this IDOC Ack applicable for this scenario???
Rather not, since FILE adapter does not support any other acknowledgements then system and IDoc adapter does not request other acknowledgements then application + SystemErrorAckRequested.
In sender system your IDoc will be always in status 39 (instead of 03), when acknowledgement is turned on.
This is because:
For SystemErrorAck the corresponding ALEAUD status is 56
For AckNotSupported the corresponding ALEAUD status is 50
Both inbound 56 and 50 statuses end up in 39 for your outbound IDoc in sender system.
Q1) Will this ALEAUD Idoc contains any Message from File System????
In both cases, it will result in status 39 - IDoc is in the target system. So it does not matter.
Q2) Basically what Information will contain this IDOC Ack.
Idoc number from sender system and status 56 or 50 depends on acknowledgement type.
Q3) Do we receive any Info from the Target File System , if we implement this Ack concept??
Nothing useful.
Remember that File Receiver has no way to determine if the written file has been correctly processed by the back-end application. However, if your FILE application can read your WP_PLU message and after successful processing is able to generate any kind of message then you can acknowledge the communications but you will not be able to link original message with the acknowledgement request message.
To do that you need to configure just normal scenario (that will be your new acknowledgement scenario) FILE -> XI -> R/3. Your FILE service will send ALEUAUD Idoc to R/3 system. Your FILE application must take care to generate proper ALEAUD XML message. In order to treat ALEAUD as a request message (not standard acknowledgement) you need to run IDX_ALEREQUEST in SE38 on XI.
Q1) It means if the Idoc not reached to Target File system means we can able to get the System Error Ack to Sender SAP R/3 System. Am i Right????
Supposed you have turned off acks on XI (tcode: se38, IDX_NOALE) for your sender port/client:
You have sent the IDoc and the last status is "03 - Data passed to port OK"
You don't know whether it was even delivered to XI ...

In XI you can see Ack Status: Error (Acknowledgement contains system errors). Category: transient.
XI will send ALEAUD IDoc to R/3 system: status "56 - IDoc with errors is added"
The IDoc status in sender will be "39 - IDoc is in receiving system (ALE service)".
So status 39 means only that IDoc reached XI, but you don't know whether it was delivered to FILE system or not.
Q2) And one more thing is Even though we are dealing with the IDOCFile OR FileIDOC we can able to get the ACk of Type System Error Ack only. Am I Right?????

Installation
1. Remove the PKGADD dependancy. Pkgadd requires root access to a
machine, iPS is likely to be installed by developers, not sysadmins.
2. Install Java in the same directory tree as iPS. too many applications
use /usr/java and expect different java versions.
3. Include 'optimization' settings; i.e java flags, documented in the
release notes as part of the install.
4. During install request a username to run the gateway, web server and
ldap server as. Again changing this is documented as an option in the
release notes. If installing as a non-root user, this user should be
used.
Admin.
1. Make gateway url rewriting changes on a per machine basis. Too many
sites use the same javascript variables, i.e; url, src, pathname, html;
some sites require rewrites others do not.
2. Add comment fields to the admin interface, if I make a change I want
others to know why.
3. Provide backup/restore scripts. As part of the development/production
phase I've written scripts to make an image of a production ips setup,
which I can then install on a development system. A few 'sed' statements
deal with the new hostname and IP addresses, and a few 'pkginfo' checks
need removing, but this works.
Support.
1. Make 'Hot Patches' available on the iPS web site. Or a minimum the
release notes, so I know whether I need it.
2. List 'public' versions of bugs/rfe's on the iPS web site. Something
similar to 'SunSolve' would be great. If I have a problem I can save a
lot of time by finding a bug report online. Most technical Sun/Netscape
customers rarely ever use telephone support.
3. Remove the 'black box' support restrictions on the LDAP and web
servers. If I want to add a CGI script to my web server, iPS should
still be supported, just not my CGI script.
Licensing.
1. Remove the crazy per CPU prices for the 'secure' version. All this
is, is an implementation of the Mozilla NSS code which is freely
available. Many companies offer faster H/W SSL solutions at far lower
prices. Whether the URL rewriter is only available as part of the
'secure' version I've never had a clear answer.
2. List prices on the iplanet web site. When I try a product I want to
know how much it'll cost me, and right now I have to have an iplanet
sales rep visit me ...I hate sales reps :)

WRT the one about licensing for the secure version, let me try to give a
clear answer. The extra licensing fees for "secure" mode is for the
gateway component of iPS and the features it provides. This includes:
     - reverse proxy with URL rewriting
     - netlet VPN
     - certificate-based authentication
The term "secure" in this context can be a bit confusing. It does not
refer to whether the iPS itself is access using SSL. Rather, it refer to
the security of the entire intranet that is accessible via the portal. In
secure mode, the only access point for the entire intranet is the iPS
gateway, so the intranet can be made secure. In open mode, the iPS server
is accessed directly as are any other web servers in the intranet because
there is no gateway. Even in open mode, the iPS server can be configured to
use SSL. But that doesn't do anything about the other web servers and
resources that might be necessary for a complete portal solution.

Where to submit feature suggestions?

I occasionally have some suggestions for IOS and other OS for commands which I'm certain would be extremely popular, such as a "shut cycle 5" for interfaces which would power down the interface for 5 seconds, then bring it back up (handy for remote work on uplink ports); or a "copy start run in 10 erase-first" for remote work as well (basically, undo all my commands from this point forward in 10 minutes, in case I screw something up and lose access to my device) and by the way, a copy run start or write mem should cancel this scheduled copy.
Where is the best place to suggest these things where there's a snowball's chance they'd be implemented?

Collaboration uses the logging mechanisms of the J2EE Engine. Therefore it is the defaultTrace.trc under .../usr/sap/<SID>/Jxx/j2ee/cluster/serverX/log/ .

Not quite what I heard when I went into the Apple Store in Hong Kong yesterday.
I have just bought an iPad in Hong Kong but will eventually be travelling back to the UK.
Louis in the Apple Store told me that iPads without cellular have international warranty but those with cellular do not (as there are slightly different models for different carriers).
But he was pretty cagey and essentially couldn't give a clear, straightforward answer. Which most Apple employees can't.
It is now a grey area, at the discrection of each local Apple Store & is subject, it seems, to you paying the import duty as a possible get out clause.
Look carefully but do tell us if you got this iPad reapired. Thanks.

Thanks. I'm working with different hosts and I guess thats where the confusion for me is coming in. In bluehost, I simply submit my form through form action to http://www.bluehost/bluemail. With the php form construction it 's form action is contact.php. Does this mean that the server I'm working with will uinderstand how to process contact.php and where to send it based on paramaters previously submitted? Or do I instruct the server via the php form? Thanks again

The reason why this is done in php is because php is server-side scripting. It's telling your server to do stuff. HTML doesn't tell your server anything, it tells the client (the web browser loading it) to do things. Only your server can send an email.

Also, make sure that you're actually logged in as the same user that you had in Panther - you can check under the Users folder to see if there's another user. You won't be able to search other users' folders in Spotlight, so you will have to log out and in to get those files, if they're there.

SOAP to RFC Scenario Timeout in Sender Application ...

Hi All,
We have SOAP sender webservice (.Net app) To RFC receiver on SAP side through PI 7.1.The problem we are facing is the RFC from SAP side is taking more time to send response back and by the time PI sends the response back to calling webservice application ,they timeout on their side.Can PI by anymeans tell the calling application to wait until we get a respose back from SAP.
Any thoughts and recommendations greatly appreciated.

Do we need to check the timeout of xiadapter.inbound.timeout.default in Pi and set the same in the sender application.
We don't have timeouts in PI so I don't think we have to increase timeout in PI.
Is there a way we can hold sender application to wait until PI sending the response back without ind=creasing their timeout ?
