how to specify source of supply in planning version In the planning version, you can define for PP/DS whether the system may create a procurement proposal if no valid sources of supply are available.
I want to create procurement proposal without source of supply .where i need to specify in planning version.please help me

Do you think any other settings at material level are missing .please suggest

Report to redetermine SNP Source of supply
We configured Planned Order integration model to show up R/3 planned orders as SNP Planned orders in APO. However when the planners on R/3 side intervene the orders in terms of some of the fields, it passes on to APO as a planned order without source of supply. This is due to the design, the PPM information is manually maintained in APO and is out of sync with the information in R/3 side. The system thus chooses to keep a blank source of supply for the orders rather than redetermining the source of supply in APO. From some of my recollections, I understand that there are ways to run a report in APO that redetermines source of supply for planned orders with blank source. Can someone pass on this report information to me ? (We do not want to run user exits/BADIs to do this determination, and rather would prefer a standard report)
It is by design that PPM is not synced. There are tens of resources in R/3 side which we have summarized and kept as a "aggregate" resource data in APO manually. So there is no point in deleting APO orders and re-CIFing. It is by design that the orders come into APO without source of supply. Some of these orders are NOT solver dependent and is manully managed by planners in R/3 side. So we do not want to run the solver to change that data. We just want the PPM to be picked up in APO so that we can correctly load the resources.
If anyone has a Z program for this, it will be great if it can shared. -
CTM alternative sources of supply
Hello Experts,
Issue: when planning the production with CTM if there is no production resource capacity available to cover the demand within certain bucket CTM is planning production backwards instead of considering alternative sources of supply (e.g. alternative production resources within the same location or alternative sourcing location).
Can someone tell me if the functionality (consideration of alternative sources of supply before planning backward) exists in CTM ?

Try limiting the Order Creation frame in CTM global customizing settings. In that case, I have observed that CTM will pick the alternate resource in the same time period (or else it will first go horizontally, fill up the primary resource leading to planning production backwards )

HR Org Replication into different plan version in SRM
Dear SRM Gurus,
I have an org plan in HR (Plan Version 01) which I want to replicate into a newly created plan version "EL" in SRM. But this at the moment is not my "current plan version". So only after replication is successfully I want to change "current plan version" in SRM from "01" to "EL".
Question: is there any place where I can decide, into which SRM plan version I want to replicate my HR Org-Plan into?

Change Source of Supply determination during PPDS Planning Heuristic
Hi APO Gurus,
We are running PPDS for our Production Planning. In the PPDS run, when we have more than one source of Supply , system selects the Source of Supply based on Lot Size, Validity , Priority or Quota.
In our scenario, we want to change the Source of Supply selection criterion based upon our own logic. So, while executing the PPDS run, i am unable to find out any BADI or Exit is available or not which will do this job.
If anyone has worked in this before or any suggestation will be appreciated.

How can I get all SNP Distribution Receipt (Planned) orders w/o source of supply in APO?

You can still create Distribution Receipts (Planned) orders, for this you have to maintain transprotation lane b/w vendor location (soruce) and plant locations (destination). Also you should have maintained the procurement type of the product as 'F' external procurement or 'X' both inhouse/external procurement. To run this create a test scenario by maintaing 2 locations(Vendor and plant location) and a product. Assign the product and locations to active model. Create some forecast using transaction /n/sapapo/rrp3. Enter the product, location(Plant location) and quantity(with negative value). and save. Check the forecast in interactive planning table. Now run the Network heuristics by selecting the vendor, plant location and product. You should be able to see the distribution receipts (PR) created for product.
There is no need for maintain the PDS/PPM as source of supply. Hope this is what you are expecting. If not let me know what actually you are looking for.

SNP Network Heuristic - Purchase Requistion planned w/out source of supply

We have a T-lane setup from the source location A to destination B for a particular material. However, when running SNP Network heuristic, it generated SNP Purchase Requisition with out a source of supply. Can you please help me understand what would caused this?

My situation is we have two T-Lanes:
Tlane 1 - Source A Destination B
T lane 2 - Source B Destination A
I believe that in Network heuristic system does not allow any recursive T lane as it fails to determine low level code resulting no propagation of demand to next level. This resulted in no source of supply.
Can you please confirm if that is the limit of Network Heuristic? Our business scenario required to have recursive Tlane, is there a way to get Network Heuristic to work correct? How to setup low level code?

I am a student and my final SAP project is due tomorrow. One of the steps is to create a Purchase Order certain specifications. I have defined the needed purchase requisitions for the Purchase order, but I am having a problem Assigning A Source of Supply to my items. When I select the items and click the "Assign Source of Supply" Icon I get the error message that "Existing Sources Will be Lost." I have tried many different ways to assign sources of supply to these items and the option is either grayed out, gets, this error message, or simply nothing happens.
I cannot advance in my project without first completing this step and it is a huge portion of my grade. This is of utmost importance to me so if anyone can help me figure out how to bypass this problem and Assign Sources of Supply, or even what this error message means, you would really be doing me a great service.

I cannot test it now, but seems to me that the transaction me21n is not designed to run source
determination unless the purchase order is created in reference to apurchase requisition
( where source determination can be run ).
If a PO is directly created without reference to a requisition, the outline agreements specified in the source list have to be manually entered in the PO ( even if there is only one agreement ), otherwise the error message is issued...

Backend Source of Supply not supported for Direct Material in SRM
Hi ,
When creating S/C or PO in SRM for Direct Material , backend Source of Supply ( i..e Purchasing Info Record or Backend Contracts ) not availble to select as a sourc of supply .
In our case, we are planning to maintain the sourc of supply (PIR or Contracts) in back end MM system only , then how can pick up the same ?
Can anyone please suggest on this .

It is still pending for me . i just raised OSS message to SAP ...but SAP saying that
" I checked and found that in the classic scenario , Direct Materials cannot use backend contracts. The behavior described above is in accordance with the system design. Only local sources of supply (local contracts and interlinkages) can be
used in the direct material scenario, as well as as in the extended classic scenario . Therefore the above error message which you get "Specify a valid contract" is valid."

Please maintain source list .
You define source list requirements at plant level. If a source list requirement exists, you must maintain the source list for each material before you can order it.
The source list serves:
To define a source of supply as "fixed". Such sources count as preferred sources over a certain period of time. For example, the fixed vendor XXXX for material 100XX is ASA Company for the first quarter and BSB Co. for the second quarter of the year.
Select the plants for which you wish to specify a source list requirement
You use the source list to determine the valid source of supply at a certain point in time.
The source list contains all the sources of supply defined for a material and the periods during which procurement from these sources is possible

you make the system settings that are necessary for purchasing operations carried out using source lists.
Source list requirement for materials, It may be necessary to include possible vendors of a material in the source list before the material can be ordered.
The Source list requirement field in the purchasing data of the material master record indicates whether a source list requirement exists for a material.
You can define the Source list requirement at plant level in IMG. Logistics -->Materials management --> Purchasing --> Source list.
Here you can see the plants for which a source list requirement exists.

I am wondering that if we have configured the soucing method in (IMG:SRM Server -> Sourcing -> Define Sourcing for Product Categories ) for a certain product category as Aut. Creation of Bid Invitation for Items w/o Source of Supply , how the system determines which bidder should received the bid invitation? or, the system just create a bid invitation w/o any bidder ,then the purchaser process the bid invitation ?
I dont find where we can configure the relationship between the selected product category and vendors.

The scenario you are talking about is PDP (Plan Driven Procurement) in case of Extended Classic scenario where the P.R is created in R/3 and is transferred to SRM as an external requirement using a channel (RFC).
Yes, if you make the setting in the Sourcing for the specific product category for the creation of Bid invitation w/o source of supply then it will create bid invitation.
Then you have to enter the bidder data and other related info. in the Process Bid invitation.

there seems to be an issue with the xml in the request body.
As an approach, you could try to send two separate requests, in order to check if the creation of the parent entity works and then use the specified link and check if the creation of the child entity works with the given xml. This could help to clarify which part of the xml is actually rejected
I've copied below the xml of a deep insert that works for me.

Costing Run Error: No Valid Source of Supply
Hi Experts,
I am new to Costing,
While executing Costing Run for a matrial ABC in plant XXX with a Costing Run 111, I get an error No valid source of supply could be found
but when I run the Costing Run for Same material for sam plant with different Costing Run It gets executed properly.
I have read the thread related to it where it is giving reference to note 713111, 499699 and 422926 but there is no check for Source List in Material master.

Use OKKN as Jigar says.
Select the costing variant that you are using and then click on "valuation variant"
Look at the tab for subcontract - this will show what the costing variant is useing to creat cost estimates with.
Your options for subcontracting are:
2 Effective Price from Quotation Without Fixed Costs
3 Net Quotation Price
4 Gross Quotation Price
5 Effective Price from Quotation
6 Effective Price from Purchase Order Without Fixed Costs
7 Net Purchase Order Price
8 Gross Purchase Order Price
9 Effective Price from Purchase Order
If your material has a Special Procuremnet key 30 - then one of these strategies has to be used.
