Where to store and later import an event and project again?

The boxes with events and projects are becoming overloaded so i want to remove them from there.
But how to remove and how te restore if i want to alter things or go further in an earlier made project/event?

You can use the Event Manager X application to selectively activate or deactivate events and projects.
You can also do it manually: create new folders, say "Final Cut Events (Disabled)" and "Final Cut Projects (Disabled)", beside the normal "Final Cut Events" and "Final Cut Projects" folders.
When FCP X is NOT running, drag any events or projects that you want to disable to these new folders. FCP X will now only see the ones remaining in their original locations.
If you want to use them later on, just move them back (again, when FCP X is NOT running).
(Note: the above procedure is exactly how Event Manager X works, though the folders it creates may have slightly different names, the principle is the same; it just presents a nice interface with checkboxes for you to select the events and projects and then silently moves them as needed)

It sounds like your iPhoto Advanced preferences are set to not copy photos during import, i.e. a Referenced library:
Check your Advanced preferences to see if that's the case. If it is the best solution would be to select the checkbox to copy the photos and reimport the photos from the flash drive. Then check the new import. It it was OK you can delete the previous event with the "missing" photos.

Exported and later Imported .pst files retain the permissions from the original Mailbox.

After migrating from Exchange 2003 to 2010 something strange happens when exporting folders to a .pst file and importing them in another mailbox.
The acces right that are applied, are those from the original mailbox.
I have been searching on the internet about this strange behaviour, but it seems our organization is the only one where is applies.
Does anybody have any ideas what can be the cause?

For example, userA was granted permissions to the Inbox folder of userB's mailbox. You exported userB's Inbox folder to PST file and then imported to userC's mailbox. After that, userA had permissions for Inbox folder in userC's mailbox as well. This is
what you had encountered, is it right?
Generally, permissions aren't preserved when you export folders to PST file, only the content itself is exported. I recommend you remove this mailbox folder permission using the Remove-MailboxFolderPermission command to check the result.

Importing iCal events and Address book from Time Machine

How does one import only iCal events and Address book items from a backedup version of Lion using Time Machine for a backup residing on an external HDD?

Importing iPhoto Events as Projects

I tried importing my entire iPhoto library (~480 events) using the conventional command (file>import>iphoto library) but when it was done (hours later) only a handful of events were converted to projects, the rest placed in one big iphoto folder.
There is an Import icon that gets me to my Events in iPhoto, which when imported individually, properly generates a Project. But each Event has to be imported one at a time!
Is there a way to select and import all Events?

Yea, it is too bad. But in my case I found this to be productive, as I had many events that have been combine in one project alone with multiple albums in it. For instance, pictures I took of the same site but in different season or something like this. iPhoto classified them as 2+ events, and in a way it is true, but on a project based system, I find this more interesting to have them in one event and multiple albums in it.

While working in iMovie, computer shut down and all imported clips from that project disappeared. The project still existed, with titles, but all video clips were gone from the movie as well as the computer library.

Clips were imported from SD card into iMovie project. While working on the project, computer shut down. When restarted, all clips from that event were no longer in the project, or in the computer library. Project existed, with titles, but blank spaces exist where clips had been.

OH MY GOD! This EXACT thing just happened to me! It didn't save my event and didn't show the date in the iMovie library but if I look under all projects, the project is there. Except that there are little blank place holders where all my clips were. Also the title of the project has a little yellow "!" symbol next to it which I can only assume means that the file is corrupted.
I can't believe it destroyed like 8 hours of work!

Way to Import whole Event to Project in iMovie 08?

I would like to take ALL my clips from a particular event and put them into a Project... and I can only find where you drag them one at a time. And that is... well... a DRAG!
I tried to drag the whole event in, but it would not let me.
Any other way?

Please help if you can. iOS 6 upgrade performed today on my iPhone. I lost EVERYTHING but my music. My contacts, text messages, and most importantly, my pictures and videos. I recently saved these photos to my computer which crashed shortly after.

This upgrade caused me to lose all contacts, texts, and most importantly, my photos. Backup seemed to have not been performed by iTunes prior to upgrade. How can I restore any of this?

Yes, everything is lost if you did not have a backup but if yout want to make your phone work again you need to put it into DFU restore mode. Hopefully it was just a software issue and your phone will still work
1. plug it into itunes
2. Hold the home button and the sleep/wake button on top until it goes black
3. release the sleep/wake button and hold the home button until you see a notification in itunes that says "itunes has discovered a phone in recovery mode"
4. Hit restore or download and update.

The XML file is a subset of the information in the ITL provided for 3rd party apps to query the library. iTunes doesn't make any use of the data it places there. The ITL file records all the things that aren't recorded in file tags such as ratings, play counts, playlist membership etc.

Are you using the wall charger? If totally discharged, it won't give an indication of charging for about 20-30 minutes.

I turned off my iPod touch and later tried to turn it on again and got a blank screen. Now I just get white or a blank screen. Screenshot and voice control work and it responds to charging. I already tried resetting it.

It was fine a few hours ago and isn't working now.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I want to make a folder "A" and save to disk (appendable), then as and when required I wish to append to that folder files "B" and later on files "C" and so on. What would be the way to do this.
