Where to store job descriptions (if possible) in SAP HCM?

Hi.
My HR managers want to store jobdescriptions in SAP for each jobfamily or even each employee. Is this supported in SAP HCM and if yes, what options do I have to do so. Is there a part of the IMG containing some setup for this or does any of you have some link to any documentation on the subject?
It would be greatlu appreciated.

You can also check in the IMG, for PA the path is as below
Personnal administration>Organizational data>Organizational assignement>Organizational plan>define jobs

Can you be more clear what is your clarification? Based on my understanding of you question the answer is, all descriptions of OM objects are stored in Table HRP1002. You can use T.Code: PO03 to maintain Job related infotypes.

Recruitment: Where to store job description???

Hi,
we're implementing the SAP recruitment solution (without e-recruiting) in SAP ECC 6 (without any EHP).
We want to have the master data (vacancy, advertisment, job description) in SAP and publish it via WS to our corporate website which contains an application form.
As far as I've seen now, it's only possible to store SAPScript text via SO10 for an advertisement (in transaction PBAW/PBAX).
Is that correct?
Can I use that to store formatted job descriptions in SAP?
As far as I've seen, it's not possible to have bullet points on that.
As the end user must be able to maintain those texts, SAPScript is probably not the best solution.
Could we store some HTML text (maintained with a WYSIWYG editor) in SAP and link it to the advertisement via a Z table?
Is there something available like that?
How would you solve this issue?

How to get a job being a fresher in SAP HCM

Hi.
Can anyone guide me.How can I get the job into SAP HCM Profile.
I am an MBA in Human resource. Along with 8 years of experience into the same HR functions. I have completed SAP HCM training from a local institute in the month of Jan this year. They were suggesting me to go for a fake experience letter to get the job into SAP. Which I refused to take.Coz I dint find ethically right to go for such thing. I have also uploaded my profile into job portals,where every job demands at least one end to end implementation should have done.
I am getting very impatient as am not getting any relevant job calls as per my profile . Can any one guide me How will I get the job in SAP HCM Profile.

While more difficult, I applaud you and your integrity to be ethical in the process of looking for that first job. You are rare, and that should be commended.
This may not be what you are looking for, but do you have any opportunities to take an internship (sometimes at no pay, sometimes at lower pay, and often only for a season)? This will allow you to get some experience and also get your foot in the door with a company. From there, you will have an easier time selling yourself.
You have 8 years of experience in HR. Were you using SAP systems during that time? Would you be able to start off as a functional analyst or possibly a business analyst while looking for opportunities to take on tasks in the system to get professional experience with SAP HCM, as part of your transition?
These are just some thoughts that might help you.

meaning is there any std Infotype to store job descriptions of the benchmark jobs.

Is it possible to maintain job descriptions in multiple languages in infotype 1002? For example, can you maintain the description for SAP job 50000001 in French, German and English? If so, how do you change the language key to reflect a different language? Currently it defaults to English and there is no way to change that.

Dear Expert,
My client requirement is following:
SAP HR infotype should store the following:
Profit Center (value and description) and relevant company code. (System should validate the entries also)
JOB Family
Can you please advise where can I store the above values (if at all it is possible in SAP HR).

Hello Manish,
As far as I know Profit Center are not directly linked HR master data, but a Cost Center. You may link a Cost Center to an employee by assigning one at the Organization level (Org Unit, Position...) in (eg via t-code PPOME) or you may assign a cost center to an employee to its Infotype 27 Cost Assignement.
What do you mean about Job Familly ? There is HR object which is call Job (maintainable is tCode PPOME) bu not so sure this is what you 're looking for.

Or if there is some other way to show a job description for each position in Org Structure.

You could use either LSMW Tool or Custom Program (BDC or BAPI).
LSMW has the following Options:
1. Direct Input
2. Batch Input
3. BAPI
4. IDOC

How/Where to store current page details in ADF?

Hi All,
What is the best way to populate the managedBean while loading the page?
In my application, I have an page fragment which display the user details from Webservice DataControl. I drag and drop the webservice data control in to the pageFragment. This fragment has mapped in the taskFlow and the taskFlow as attached in to main JSPX page as a region. I need to store this user information to any place (ManagedBean / or anyother best place to store) which I can use throughout my application, since I dont want to reexecute the webservice each time to get the same user information. Also I want to collect and store this info while I render the main page, not after any user action.
Please advice how & where to store the information in ADF? Can I create an managedBean? If so how to trigger that class method at page load?

Hi,
in this case you configure the managed bean to be in session scope. Then, on the first page, you define a phase listener for the after restore phase (its a tag on the f:view element). This phaselistener references the managed bean using EL (important). It can do so using a method expression in JSF. For example, if the managed bean had a method populateUserInfo then yu could reference #{beanname.populateUserInfo} and execute the method expression using Java. In the managed bean, the method would access the binding layer Using the BindingContext class

You can use similar code to access the user information from the method iterator in ADF to populate the managed bean fields. You can then access user information from the managed bean through getter and setter methods

Where to store the url of a webpage for indexing and searching?

Dear Java gurus,
We have a set of html files stroing in a file system. We can use Lucene to index those files with two fields "path" and "content ". Then using Lucene we can search and the result will be the relevant content and its path (path in the file system).
As each of these html file is a real web page, we know its url in Internet too. However, I dont know where to store this real url and let Lucene to index not only the path, content but also this url. If this is possible, then the search result will display the url also.
Do you have any idea about this ?
This is the last obstacle for us to develop a small Google like search engine. We have already a crawler that works well.

Firstly the platform independance of Java is maintained (in part) by allowing the JVM to negotiate with the Operating System and the developer to command only the JVM.
Secondly the Security Mangager of Java would not being functioning correctly if you were able to access arbitary memory in this way.

From my humble experience, I'd recommend you to involve three different types (groups - ?) of resources in your project work: System Administrators, Security Experts and Audit:
System administrator needs to have some expereince with:
- configuration of Netweaver Server (Java stack);
- setup of users in UME;
- setup of JCo connections;
- basic knowledge of Oracle DB to check / request certain updates.
Security Expert:
- solid knowledge of authorisation concept: roles, objects, etc;
- clear understanding of provided ruleset info;
- setting up new risks in Compliance Calibrator;
- ability to analyse provided SoD info to come up with the possible solutions: remediation (e.g. splitting the role) or mitigation (controlled risk);
Audit:
- control changes in ruleset;
- monitor alerts / mitigation controls;
- identify new risks and agree them with Business
As you see, there is no requirement to have ABAP developer or Java expert. Although, knowledge of J2EE administration is a plus, as it may save some of your time with the system deployment and tuning.

You are probably installing on a hardened machine.
The "installation guide" says that if you are doing so, you need to create a file named libx11.so.4 and update your LD_LIBRARY_PATH (see http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/ims52/ig/unix/overview.htm)but:
1- the library name is libX11.so.4 and
2- for jre a common file is not enough, you need to install SUNWxwplt at least. This will install the library on /usr/openwin/lib.
You can check the results running <server-root>/bin/base/jre/bin/jre
