Where to store the spfile in a rac?

What is the best location to store an spfile in a RAC 11g r2 database?

Sorry but I could not find it in the link.
And should I have an init.ora pointing to it?Yes
Put entry in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/init$ORACLE_sid.ora like,
SPFILE='+disk_group_name/dbunique_name/spfiledbname.ora'
And where is our reward for giving such suggestions? :)

    You have two pieces of data: Url and content.
    If you want to store the content on the file system then your database table would have two columns: url and file_location.
    You then do the following
    1. Save the content to the file system. Derive a file path from that process.
    2. Write a record to the database consisting two data items : url and that file path.

  • Where to store the url of a webpage for indexing and searching?

    Dear Java gurus,
    We have a set of html files stroing in a file system. We can use Lucene to index those files with two fields "path" and "content ". Then using Lucene we can search and the result will be the relevant content and its path (path in the file system).
    As each of these html file is a real web page, we know its url in Internet too. However, I don’t know where to store this real url and let Lucene to index not only the path, content but also this url. If this is possible, then the search result will display the url also.
    Do you have any idea about this ?
    This is the last obstacle for us to develop a small Google like search engine. We have already a crawler that works well.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Firstly the platform independance of Java is maintained (in part) by allowing the JVM to negotiate with the Operating System and the developer to command only the JVM.
    Secondly the Security Mangager of Java would not being functioning correctly if you were able to access arbitary memory in this way.

    i am currently in the same situation. i purchased an external hard drive and set itunes to save to it in the preferences, and this worked, but only for new additions. all of my current music still plays from my mac HD and not the external. i am assuming i will need to re-add every song. the only plus is that when i transferred my songs to the external, it saved my settings. hopefully it saves the play counts.

    Hi SaMolPP,
    You should try to use the existing ULS logging, following article is for 2010 but should also work in 2013 :
    http://geekswithblogs.net/venkatx5/archive/2010/12/09/how-to-use-uls-in-sharepoint-2010-for-custom-code.aspx
    No additional lists or databases needed.
    Hope this helps

  • Where to store the Connection object?

    Hi,
    I am using JDBC together with JSF technology to building web applications. I have the following questions:
    1. Where do we usually store the open Connection object so that every class in my web application can make use of it to update or retrieve database data?
    2. Since JSF uses managed-beans which is not a servlet itself, if I store the Connection object as an attribute in the application scope then it can only be retrieved from a servlet.
    3. If I make the Connection object on every class where I would like to have database access, it seems that it is not following good practice since this would create duplicate codes in every Java class which is going to have database access.
    Does anybody have an idea? Thank you.

    Hensome wrote:
    1. But how do I use the managed bean within a servlet? Could you write some simple sample codes?
    2. If I only use simple navigation rules and backing beans, when the submit button is clicked then the action method of the managed bean is triggered. I will then trigger the action which uses JDBC for database access. This whole process does not go through a particular servlet. Is this also possible? If yes, how?
    Thank you.the process does run through a particular servlet, it's the faces servlet and is defined by something that looks like
      <servlet>
        <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
        <servlet-class>javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet</servlet-class>
        <load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup>
      </servlet> in your web.xml file. You don't have direct access to it, but you can save references to objects in the session or request so other objects can access it. Lets say that your faces code uses a DAO to read some data and you want to pass the data to a servlet, what you need to do something like:
         List data = myDAO.read();
         FacesContext facesContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
         HttpSession session = (HttpSession)facesContext.getExternalContext().getSession(true);
         session.setAttribute("myData", data);this will save the data object or list in the session as an attribute. Then, when the other servlet runs, you can do something like:
    public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
         throws ServletException, IOException {
         HttpSession session = request.getSession(false);
         Object obj  = session.getAttribute("myData");
         List myData = (List)obj;
    }          Now the servlet has access to the list of data read by the faces bean. You shouldn't directly access faces beans themselves from another servlet, you should instead access POJOs that you have defined or collections of them.

  • Where to store the logo?

    Hi all!
    Our problem is to find a way to store our webdynpro login screen logo. The logo is a .gif file. In the customizing of the webdynpro login screen there is a field for putting in an URL to the logo. Is there a way to store the logo inside SAP and access it with an URL?
    We are using SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
    Best regards,
    Marianne Evang.

    Hello Marianne,
    Go to SE80, choose MIME Repository, go down the hierarchy to your WD Application, e.g. SAP->bc->WebDynpro->SAP->ZTEST
    right mouseclick -> import MIME
    After upload, you should then get it by URL:  http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/ztest/<imagename>
    You also can upload the mime in the SE80 repository browser in your WD Component. Mark the component, right click, create->MIME Object-> import
    You can access it using the same URL as above
    Kind regards
    Andreas

  • Where to store the values for the purpose of logging

    For the purpose of logging, i would like to store few values like strings, some objects, some exceptions[ after few transactions from the end user ] in the SP server.
    which is the best approach for storing these?
    if i use  splist, the items will reach 5000 within a  week as far as my appl's usage is concerned , hence it will  cause a performance issue in future.
    so how can i store the values in the splist?
    should i use a separate  custom sql db and use ado.net to store the values when enduser peforms the tasks?
    help is appreciated

    Hi SaMolPP,
    You should try to use the existing ULS logging, following article is for 2010 but should also work in 2013 :
    http://geekswithblogs.net/venkatx5/archive/2010/12/09/how-to-use-uls-in-sharepoint-2010-for-custom-code.aspx
    No additional lists or databases needed.
    Hope this helps

  • Where to store the DUNS number

    Hi,
    We would like to store the DUNS number of our suppliers in the vendor master. It seems that an LFA1 extension is available specifically for storing the DUNS number and other D&B related data. I can not find any info on this. Can some one provide me with some info? We are on ECC6.0.
    Thanks,
    Chetan Shah

    if you can briefly describe the steps, it could be of help to some one
