Where to submit a feature request concerning an application (Mail) that doesn't appear in the feedback section?

Hello.
I (and I suppose many others) have a very, very obvious and needed feature to request about Mail.app. As far as I understand, usually such requests go into the feedback section (http://www.apple.com/feedback/). But while even iCal appears on that page, Mail.app doesn't—a fact as bizarre and incomprehensible as the lack of the feature to request. (Namely: Mail allows to set rules for outgoing messages, but it doesn't execute them (obviously a coding error, one that persists since the very first version of Mail. If Mail isn't supposed to allow rules concerning outgoing messages, then it's a mistake to make setting such rules possible; but can anyone think of a sensible reason to disallow such rules?). This is very, very annoying, and it's equally annoying that apple fails to include this application into the feedback page. It's almost like they don't want us to use it.)
Well. Anybody any idea how to get this through to them?
Thanks.

You can submit feedback for the application to the operating system feedback as a start, that is, submit to the Mac OS X that you are using.
One does wonder why there is not a separate category for something as heavily used as mail, but...

  • Display xml documents - how to submit a feature request?

Safari is useless when it comes to render raw xml documents. You have to view the actual source to see the xml.
Is there an official way to submit a feature request for safari to apple? I would love to see something similar to what firefox does with xml. Safari is such a fast and nice browser, if it only could handle text/xml better...

As you said Safari simply shows all xml element content concatenated together. But no tags or attribute values. If the ContentType in the http header is set to text/xml Firefox shows an xml tree that you can nicely browse. I think IE5+ and Opera do that too. It is important to set the right content type though. Here is an example that shows nice in FF, but is unreadable in Safari:

Sure you can look at the source code, but the xml might not be pretty printed.

  • How to submit a Feature Request

Anyone know how ot submit a feature request to the Mail team?  I'm so tired of inline attachments.  I feel like I'm using a mail client from the mid 90's.

  • The Proper Place to Submit a Feature Request

This is a beta forum and will be closed at the terminus of the beta. The best place to post a new feature request or to check if one exists already is here: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family
There are places to discuss and vote (and more importantly accumulate votes). It is populated with team members as well as gurus. More importantly-it survives after this forum closes.

You may think it the proper place, but the software used on the Photoshop family pages is simply dreadful.
If you want people to participate over there then make it more user friendly.
It’s also impossible to sign in with an Adobe ID unless your screen name starts with a letter of the alphabet.
    Very disssapointing.

I still use Aperture 2.1.4.  I need to export an image file with a CMYK profile.  Whereas a generic CMYK profile is listed in ColorSync Utility, it does not appear on the list of profiles in the edit portion of the export preset dialogue.  Help?  Is there some way to add the CMYK profile to the list of choices that are available in the export preset dialogue such that I can choose it?

Thanks for your response.  My profiles are located within color sync utility as you can see here:
These profiles do not respond to clicking and dragging.  Since they are all in one place, more or less, I'm reluctant to make further attempts to relocate them.  Accessing the CMYK profile is the first difficult experience I've encountered with this arrangement.  I have never needed the CMYK profile until recently, and that need has now past.  However, it remains a mystery to me as to why it does not appear with all the others on the menu of export choices in Aperture 2, or on the menu of profile assignment choices in the Preview application (where again all the other profiles are listed as choices).  I'm beginning to think my current set up will permit me to view an image that was created in CMYK space, but does not easily assign, or convert to that space.  I don't face these restrictions with all the others, so it remains a curious circumstance for me.  I anticipate upgrading my computer and software in the near future which might alleviate this issue altogether.  Again, many thanks for your attention to this matter.  The reach of this community is astounding.

  • Where is the photo tab in itunes? it doesn't appear in the itunes sidebar

where is the photo tab in itunes? it doesn't appear in the itunes sidebar, I am trying to remove photos from my ipad by restricting them from appearing after synch.

    cjmuth wrote:
I was struggling with this too - but seem to have found the issue.  It appears the photo synch option in iTunes isn't available unless the photos are out of synch.
    This is incorrect.
The Photos tab is always available when you have your iDevice connected.
First open iPhoto, move the photos you want to get rid of to the trash, then close iPhoto.
No one seems to want to delete the photos from iPhoto/computer.
They just don’t want them to sync to the iPad.

  • When i select an event for move to trash, it doesn't appear in the trash to be emptied. where is it?

I have iMovie 10.0.4. When I select an event for 'move to trash' it doesn't appear in the trash to be emptied there. Where is it?

Thanks for the reply, have checked and that seems to be the problem, I have plugged in my ipad and the missing app has appeared.

  • Where to submit DPM feature improvement requests?

Where's the best place to submit DPM product "improvement" requests to Microsoft for their consideration?

    Hi Mike,
    Please accept the following feedback:
When DPM writes SQL databases from replica to tape, it rewinds the tape after every database, causing needless wear on the tape and tape drive.  Today DPM is writing SQL databases to the end of a tape (at approx. the 2TB mark on an LTO5 tape),
and it's taking over 10 minutes of tape travel time for a 5MB database, then another 13 minutes for the next 4MB database.  In the last three hours it's written 16 databases, taking over 10 minutes each time, their total size is less than 90GB,
and DPM rewound the tape after every database.
Please review the tape handling to ensure needless tape rewinding does not occur. We want SQL (and other) tape backups to stream data to the drive continuously until the tape is full.

  • Pages feature request concerning Thesaurus

I do wish in Pages when you open the Dictionary and Thesaurus after highlighting a word in your document that you could then click an alternative word listed in the Thesaurus to replace the word highlighted. Every other word processing program out there, even Open Office, has this ability. Why is it still not Pages?

Nobody in the forums can tell you why some feature you want is not yet present.  For Apple to see your request, report it at

  • Feature request: Send meeting updates *only* to those attendees affected bys the change.

I'm uing iCal in lieu of Outlook in my organization's Exchange environment.  When I add a single invitee to a meeting, EVERY attendee gets spammed with an update and has to re-accept the meeting.
I just switched back from Outlook '07 because it seems Exchange synchronicity with iCal has vastly improved over the last time I tried it, however this is a bit embarassing for me and annoying for meeting invitees.  Outlook '07 features the option I'm requesting.

  • Feature request for Notes application

    Dear Sir/Madam,
Ever since I bought my iPhone and iPad, I've been using the Notes app extensively. It's very powerful, since I can jot down some small thoughts on my way to a meeting on my iPhone, and pick up during the meeting on my iPad. I totally love it!
However, after using it for about half a year now, the place looks like a mess. The notes I make during meetings are in between groceries lists, to-do lists and personal notes on articles I read.
Would it be possible to make the Notes application more like the Reminders application? So that you can assign a category to a note, and view all notes from that category at the same time, the same way the Reminders app looks like on the iPad or iPhone. I know this would make a lot of users happy, especially now that the Notes app is being brought to iCloud and the Mac, which will only increase its popularity.
Also, it would be awesome to be able to export a note to Reminder, iCal, Twitter or Facebook!
    Thank you in advance,
    Petra

  • Feature-Request: Ignore or disable updates that are flagged "allowedOffline=false"

Updates (packages in MDT terms) that contain 'allowedOffline="false"' in their update.mum file will make the OS installation stop in the offline servicing phase (KB2533552 is an example). Wouldn't it be reasonable to check this flag when importing the
updates and disable the package in MDT or even refuse to import? Would make my workflow "grab all the updates *.cab detected by Windows Update from the SoftwareDistribution\Download folder and import them in MDT" a lot easier.

+1,000 I agree 100%. This is something simple that should be implemented into MDT.
I just upgraded my capture deployment share and was really really hoping that this would have been implemented by now.

  • I downloaded firefox but it doesn't appear on the desktop or in programs. Where is it?

    Where can I find Firefox?

Make sure the enable disk use option is ticked from under your iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.  Also head to Finder -> Preferences -> General and make sure the CDs, DVDs, and iPods option under Show these items on the desktop is ticked as well.
