Wherefore art thou, oggenc? (resolved)

Both kaudiocreator and grip fail to find it.
Tried forum search, wiki howto's.
Still no joy!
Thanks,

I commented it out in fstab.
Instead of commenting out tmpfs in fstab, I think you can change the ripping directory in grip to /var/tmp, for example.
Quite so.  Don't know if it was related, but during this exercise the  printer stopped responding with a status "printer not connected".
Restored tmpfs and printer.
The real culprit in exhausting tmpfs was kaudiocreator which does have a default directory option.
grip defaults to ~mp3 for ripping and encoding
Hope what I have learned helps somebody else.

  • Wherefor art thou KB2677070?

    I'm looking to deploy KB2677070 ( An automatic updater of revoked certificates is available for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 ) with SCCM 2012 but it's not showing in Software Updates. Is this by design?
    Orange County District Attorney

    It's been superseded. If you go to
    https://catalog.update.microsoft.com and put in the KB number, you can look at the Package Details and it will list which update(s) have superseded it. In this case, it appears to be KB3033929 which was released this month.
    I see nothing in the
    KB article or the
    security article that claims that this update enables automatic certificate updates.
    This update has also been causing headaches for any machine that doesn't use the Windows bootloader.

  • Oh wherefore art thou ACTION

    Could some gentle soul please give me an example of using methodbinding (I think that's what I should be using now that action is no more)
    Despite some comments to the contrary there is woefully little to go on in the latest release as regards to fixing my previously working code.
    I want to know how to call my 'action' code.
    Do I still have an action reference in my submit form?
    I so, what does it look like?
    Do I still have a property in my bean?
    If so, what do I do with it?
    If not, what do I do?
    I would like to say thanks to the JSF team for their hard work. I am sure I will understand just what they have done when someone describes it.

    I'm rarely described as a gentle soul, but I can help... You need only do two things: change "actionRef" to "action" with the new braces, and change your "return new Action()" code to just a simple method. So, for example...
    First, in your page, take:
      <h:command_button actionRef="foo.bar"/>.. and make it:
      <h:command_button action="#{foo.bar}"/>Now, in your code, take:
    public Action getMyAction()
       return new Action()
         public String invoke()
           return _myAction();
    private String _myAction()
       // code in here
    with the much simpler:
    public String myAction()
       // code in here
    }So, there's still an action reference in your page, but there isn't really a "property" in your bean - just a simple method, and that lousy inner class bites the dust.

  • Wherefore art thou Control of Picture? 2D or not 2D?

    The little VI utility made the jump from LabVIEW 711 to 2012 today. It was useful in the following way. The 'picture' was a large .png, let's say 3000 x 1500 pixels. The picture control was about the size of 500 x 500 but it had scroll bars, so it acted like a magnifying glass for the picture. The picture control returned the mouse coordinate values in terms of the large picture, so for example if I slid the scroll bar and moused onto a different part of the picture I would get the mouse coordinates of the picture (and not of the picture control widget.)
    The 2D picture control will show the big picture, with the scroll bars, but the mouse coordinates are always the position of the mouse in the widget, not the postition of the mouse in the picture. So this bug has broken my program because it is using 2D picture instead of picture control.
    Another observation is that a direct conversion from 711 to 2012 yields a block diagram picture VI from the library with a big-fat-red-X on the icon. Does big-fat-red-X on library icon mean anything? Do I have to baby along  these red-X VIs to get my new stuff to work? It seems that some direct conversions with red-X VIs still sort of work.

    Maybe it's just me (though probably not), but I'm having a really hard time following. How about instead of the clever banter and the assumption that we understand you, you simply describe exactly what you're seeing and what you're actually expecting to see, ideally with some code attached so that people don't have to guess.
    I have several potential theories off the top of my head, but can't apply either one without actual understanding:
    There was some change made to the picture control VIs. The only reason I know that is that when I back saved a VI which called them to an earlier version, LV said something specifically about that. I think it was between LV 7.1 and 8.0. I have no idea what the actual changes are. I certainly haven't seen a change in the API between 7.0 and 8.x and I know it fairly well.
    LV 8.0 introduced panes which changed the way LV treats the position of controls on the front panel. I would expect that a program imported from an earlier version would work correctly (at least that has been my experience), but maybe you're doing something which broke it. Or your utility VIs needs to be adapted to work with this. I would say that's the most likely scenario.
    You're using .NET (the "constructor" comment ) and something changed in the way LV talks to it.
    As for the "2D picture", I haven't checked but I'm assuming that this is simply the picture control you're used to (makes sense, since you say you didn't change the code). If that's the case, the reason for the different name would be that after 7.1 LV had a 3D picture control added and NI probably renamed the picture control to 2D picture control to make the difference clear.

  • Pages, oh pages, wherefore art thou?

    Hi guys. I recently upgraded computers to MBP i7 2.6ghz running 10.8.2 (as my old one died a terrible death) and I'm having no luck installing iWork '09 from a store bought disk from 12 months ago. The software installs, and I can upgrade from the app store..... however pages just will not run. I have plenty of space and ram, I've tried deleting and re-installing/upgrading several times, deleting the preferences file (only to be replaced automatically), even repairing the disk permissions. I am at a (slightly grumpy) loss.
    I cannot open a new document. The template chooser is just a black screen, followed closely by the spinning wheel of death. Keynotes and numbers just crash immediately apon opening.
    I really don't want to have to buy the software off the website again, mac has had enough of my hard earned lately, and I'm not sure if that would work anyhow.
    I'm getting a little frustrated as I need this software for invoicing etc.
    Any clues?
    Aaron.

    Yvan Koenig, a valuable contributor to the Pages community wrote an AppleScript that tracks down and removes every file installed by the IWorks '09 DVD or direct iWork '09 downloads from the App Store. People that have run his script and subsquently reinstalled iWork '09, or direct-downloaded from the App Store have reported normal functionality.
    You can obtain his AppleScript called, “uninstall iWork '09.zip from his Dropbox account. Once unzipped (double-click), there are two files: 1) The source, with the Applescript file extension, and 2) the executable AppleScript without the file extension. You may have to open the AppleScript source in the AppleScript editor and recompile it. Then double-click to run it. Should be no reason for you to know AppleScript.
    This is not a direct download link, but rather, a link to the folder containing the .zip file.
    Good luck.

  • BLOJSOM, WEBLOGS - where for art thou??

    Hi all.
    We host a large amount of data including video, audio, and text via the *Weblogs service* on an XServe currently running Mac OS X 10.4.11 Server, and are considering upgrading the server to Mac OS X 10.5.
    However... Apple decided to dump this with Leopard's introduction, which leaves us looking for alternatives.
    Could anyone who has been through this situation tell me what you did to resolve it?
    eg.,
    1. Is there a guide hidden in the deep depths that tells how to get our Weblogs (aka Tomcat/Blojsom) working under 10.5?
    2. Is there an equivalent you found to be a suitable replacement?
    Features we are would love to have, listed in order of importance:
    - Something that ties into Apple Open Directory as that is what we use to control access right now.
    - Allows blog owners/admins to upload their own material including video, audio, and text.
    - Maintains a similar URL structure.
    - Non-Apple and open source so that we can be more certain it will be available for deployment under Mac OS X 10.6 and beyond as well.
    Cheers,
    Mark

    I'm aware Blojsom is available at wiki.blojsom.com. I am of the understanding that Apple's implementation is a somewhat hacked version and that they are not directly compatible.
    Do you know how to modify the original Blojsom to use Apple Open Directory?
    If the answer is yes, then that gives us a possibility moving forward.
    Cheers,
    Mark

  • Oh video, oh video, were art thou....

    Hi....
    I’ve tried and tried - but I just can’t figure out the steps to take to find out if a music artist also has a music video available for that particular song (the shortest and easiest way, that is)....
    What I mean is: how do I go from my music list (the songs that I bought) - to finding out if a music video is also available for that song from my list?
    Comments, suggestions and opinions are greatly appreciated and welcome....
    Thank you in advance....

    Well I think I found at least one way - if it’s the best way, I don’t know - nor if it’s a dependable way, I don’t know.... So by all means, if any one knows of a dependable way, let me know...
    But from what I found: when at your list of purchased songs - go up to “View” and instead of looking at you music in “list” form, look at it in “cover flow”.... As each album comes front and center - that album will also be present in the upper right under the “Genius Sidebar” (in name only).... When clicked it will bring up some kind of “more” detailed screen (of the album) that will list any video’s that iTune carries... If this is thee best way (I don’t know) - if it’s a dependable way (I also don’t know)...
    So in closing - I’m still all ear’s for any suggestions...

  • IOS 5.0.2, where art thou?

    What happened to iOS 5.0.2? In late november, Apple announced that it had put the updat on hold, due to memory leaks in the coding. But since then, we have heard nothing. It's been 2 months since then, and it appears that iOS 5.0.2 has become a ghost, and all the people with an iPhone 4S are left with a phone that eats it battery. Anyone got any answers as to when this will be fixed?

  • Why should I use an interface?

    I'm OK with how to use an interface but it's the why that I don't fully understand.
    For instance, in the following example:
    http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/Language-Basics/InterfaceUsageExample.htm
    the interface method is called using tryout([actor's name]).
    Couldn't you just cut out the interface completely and use [actor's name].act()?
    An interface in this example just seems to add more lines of code but there must be an advantage I'm missing.
    Thanks in advance to anyone who can enlighten me.

    Here's the code you're referring to:
    interface Act {
      void act();
    class Actor1 implements Act {
      public void act() {
        System.out.println("To be, or not to be");
    class Actor2 implements Act {
      public void act() {
        System.out.println("Wherefore art thou Romeo?");
    public class TryOut {
      public static void main(String args[]) {
        Actor1 hamlet = new Actor1();
        Actor2 juliet = new Actor2();
        tryout(hamlet);
        tryout(juliet);
      private static void tryout(Act actor) {
        actor.act();
    }The example might be a bit misleading: Actor1 and Actor2 are declared as classes, but their behaviour is that of two particular characters (Hamlet and Juliette). So your question is a reasonable one.
    Sometimes this sort of example is given in terms of animals. Substitute speak for act and you get:
    interface Speaker {
      void speak();
    class Dog implements Speaker {
      public void speak() {
        System.out.println("woof");
      // other stuff like name, license number etc
    class Cat implements Speaker {
      public void act() {
        System.out.println("meeow!");
    public class TryOut {
      public static void main(String args[]) {
        List<Speaker> speakerList = new ArrayList<Speaker>();
        speakerList.add(new Cat());
        speakerList.add(new Dog());
        speakerList.add(new Cat());
        for(Speaker sp :speakerList) {
          tryout(sp); // or just sp.speak();
      private static void tryout(Speaker sp) {
        sp.act();
    }Now the instances of Cat and Dog share the behaviour as seen from the "outside" ie they both speak. But they are different types of things in as much as they implement that behaviour differently. Having a type, "Speaker", allows us to invoke this common behaviour without knowing or caring about the actual type of the particular instances.
    The example of having a collection of them is one time we might want to take advantage of this. When you have a List it has to be a list of something. In this case it is a list of Speaker instances.

  • More battery problems and feedbsck..

    ...and we csnnot have enough of these threads!
    my battery was on 30ish percent last night. My full charge capacity is 1350 (used to be 1500 before latest update). I thought I'd be clever and turn off Bluetooth, WiFi and mobile data to save power. And for good measure, put the phone into flight mode.
    Oops. Battery completely dead when I woke up. Something is clearly not working properly as we all know.
    Nokia? Wherefore art thou? This phone is not fit for purpose at the moment, unless I can work out how to turn my a$$e into a mobile power source!

    I can confirm exactly the same experience.
    I had about 40% battery before I went to bed. I put it on flight mode and in the morning phone was dead. I could not even turn it on. No charge at all.
    I checked diagnostics tool and yesterday it showed maximum capacity 1450mAh, this morning it showed only 1333mAh and now it shows 1300mAh.
    Before update 8107 battery capacity was 1520mAh
    I received my phone from Nokia care center because of audio issue, but all they did was just to flash firmware 8107, audio is still **bleep**.

    what is the difference between each other?Do you mean, the difference between literal strings and strings created dynamically?
    The JVM has a special memory area called the "constant string pool." Literal strings go automatically to the string pool. You can put other strings in the pool by calling the intern() method on them. Interning returns a reference to a string in the string pool. The only difference is that string that is in the pool can be compared with a literal string using the ==-operator.
    String hello = "hello"; // in pool
    if (hello == "hello") { // this works
    String world = new String("world"); // not in pool
    if (world == "world") { // this doesn't work
    world = world.intern(); // put it in the pool
    if (world == "world") { // this works
    }

  • SSRS 2008 R2 matrix layout issue

    Hi, I am working on a report where I have to report total number of tickets resolved per Resource in a week and I get the total number of tickets from a different table and issues resolved from another and most of the aggregation I do it in my dataset and
    display it as a matrix report.
    The problem I am running into is for instance my layout looks something like below. My data will be I will have 4 records for 2014 week-2 and for each resource will have a Total of 57 tickets and the same for week-3 and when I do the total for Atlanta the
    total I get is 57 * 4 + 39 * 4 instead of staright 57 + 39. Please guide me fix this.
    Region  Year Week Total Resource1 Resource2 Resource3 Resource4
    Atlanta  2014 2      57    16             7               8             12
                        3       39     8             9
    13              1
    Thanks in advance..............
    Ione

    What is the formula in the total column?
    The layout looks like a matrix, is it?
    How did you add the total column to the matrix/table?
    What fields are returned by the 2 datasets?
    The *4 issue seems to indicate that the dataset that returns total has multiple rows (1 per resource) that includes the same total value for each region/year/week and that the formula in the total cell is summing the values of the dataset rows. If this is
    the case then the issue may be cleared up by simply eliminating the multiple rows in that dataset. That may mean removing the resource field from that dataset's select list or adding the DISTINCT keyword to the select (assuming it is TSQL).
