Wheres that EDGE I've been looking for
I won't go into the old debate of "where is O2s edge coverage map" because Ive found there just doesn't seem to be one.
However I live and work in two built up areas. I saw a post on here a while back that also mentioned transmitters that would be upgraded to EDGE too. However I've not once seen that little E appear in the blue box next to O2-UK.
So my questions are, has anyone else found regular Edge coverage, whereabouts was that? I just want to find somewhere near to me so I can try it and check it works.
Secondly, if loads are getting good EDGE coverage, should I do something to the phone (turn off and on again, change a setting or something) to see if I can get an EDGE connection.
Finally, the post here a while back was an update from O2 about outages on transmitters due to upgrades, does anyone know how I might get those updates so I can keep an eye on whether I can get EDGE connections anytime soon?

For info I work in Hemel Hempstead, live in Leighton Buzzard. Both areas were listed in the previous post as being available before the 9th so Im a bit confused.
Heading to Luton at the weekend, which is a bit more built up, if I can find a quiet spot where I won't get robbed (joking for those that might be offended from Luton) then I'll check it there, but so far, in all my wandering about I've not seen the EDGE anywhere.

There is no such thing as universal format and that is that. You are looking for the magic pearl that doesn't exist and rather than waste your time on a futile search, it would be better to actually read up on the various formats and their limitations, including how playback devices may or may not support this and that.

I have two iPads and giving 1st gen. to my grandson. Using my Apple idI for both... can we use different passwords to access our "own" apps. Also I don't want the downloaded App to go to both iPads. Been looking for hours for an explanation! Thanks for any help.

Images I move from one folder into another are disappearing, at first it was occurring immediately and only if I did not copy and paste the images. Today however I found out that images I had been using for days just up and vanished from their new location. A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?Hi Kevin,
I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.

How can I see that a file has been sent for workflow?
During the workflow phase, the file is locked for workflow. But when the file has been approved (or denied) it will have the same status as it did before the workflow process (unless you trigger the workflow by changing its location).
You can see the workflow history in the "My Request" view, but this way of determining whether a file has been approved seems complicated.

Thanks for the transaction code, but my question is not answered yet.
For example, I use STMS_IMPORT in the Development environement to see the list of the transport that has been made in that environement.
I now have a list of these transports, with a status. But I wanna know if that transport that has been created in the Development environement has been moved to the Sandbox environement.
STMS_IMPORT shows me only the list of transports that has been created in that environement. It doesn't tell me if a transport in DVL has been moved in the QAS, SANDBOX or PRODUCTION environment.

Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your phone/iPad then try logging out of your account on the phone/iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it -

Sorry, but I'm not clear on what it is you're asking. As long as you can get an Internet connection for your home, you can almost certainly use a WiFi router, of which there are many on the market. Some sort of broadband connection, though, is really necessary for the iPad to be able to use most functions. Consult your local Internet providers for options.
If that doesn't answer your question, please explain in more detail what it is you are attempting to accomplish.

whilst downloading the update to my ipad a screen is up ..the power plug a small arrow above and the itunes logo above that.. it has been there for at least 2 hours... why?? ..or what to do??
wellllll.... it was fixed in 15-20 min at the store.... using the same method you suggested ...go figure.... perhaps my wi-fi was a bit wobbly.... who knows.... most of the info was restored through the cloud... lost my pics, but thats not crucial......they are all elswhere... so your tip was spot on, and i appreciate you help.... thanks again !!

As soon as Firefox came out with OOPP, I immediately asked how to permanently disable it and had a Firefox developer straight-up lie to me and say it couldn't be done without downgrading. Thank GOODNESS for the instructions on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/713600?page=1 Finally, finally I have excised the hated OOPP!
I run Firefox 9.0.1 and will not upgrade, ever, unless I see signs that Mozilla has radically altered its development direction and discarded most of the boneheaded, broken, anti-user development that has gone into versions more recent than Firefox 1.x. Actually making your mission statement more than an empty promise might be a good place to start.
Let's see...anything else? Oh yeah, any developer who advocates overriding or ignoring user settings, or taking control away from the user, should be kicked off the team. (and investigated as a possible Government mole, but that's a lot to ask for). I hear Konqueror and Safari are looking for new devs. It gets old fast when you try to get support and instead get haughty "You're doing it wrong, stop doing that" responses. I'm doing exactly what I intend to be doing and if you can't support that, someone else will. If you really gave a damn about your users, you might start by backporting security fixes to previous versions instead of spewing out a cacophony of incompatible new versions so rapidly you end up confusing and alienating users and making them switch updates off entirely. I mean seriously, what happens when Firefox hits triple digits? You could stick a decimal in front of it, and name that build after a historic baseball player who had that batting average. But even then you will run out of players in a few months.
It's truly sad. I switched to Firefox because it was the best browser. But Firefox has been backsliding horribly since around 2.0, and the other browsers seem to be in about the same boat. Firefox IS still the best browser - but only if you use an ancient, unsupported version. I've been busy the past hour looking for the update for bookmarks so we can add a bookmark in multiple folders without having the first bookmark automatically being deleted when adding the same bookmark to a different bookmark folder.
There's no "update" for that, it's a matter of learning a different method of saving a bookmark that bypasses the feature which identifies duplicate bookmarks.
There 5 ways to save a new Bookmark in Firefox: <br />

3. Bookmarks > Bookmark this Page <br />
4. Double-click the Star that is on the right side of the Location bar. <br />

Another search took me to another site which had one to download but said it was NOT mozilla so I came to you for help. Please! I am stranded with no fox!!

I've been "looking for printer" for four years.

I decided to bite the bullet and make a forum post before giving in to my frustration and chucking the thing out the window... I am running OS 10.6.8 on a mid-2008 MacBook and have an HP Photosmart C4385 all-in-one wirelessly connected. Well, connected is perhaps too strong a term. It works great about 50% of the time, and the other 50% I spend trying to coax my computer to find it. When I go to print something I get the "Looking for printer... Printer offline" message. I've been all over the HP site (you can imagine how helpful that was) and, as suggested, tried printing a config page and typing the printer's URL into the browser, but the page doesn't load. Here are some of the specs from the config page:
IP Address: 169.254.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Configuration Source: AutoIP
From some other sources it sounds like the AutoIP is the problem, but I can't find a way to set a fixed IP. I don't have access to the wireless router but this problem has stayed with me through two dorm rooms and two apartments, all with different wifi setups. Is there anything I can do?This not intended as a solution to the IP issue, but as a possible solution to the printing problem. Why not connect your Macbook to the printer with a USB cable? That way there is no inaccessible router to deal with.
