Whether BSP can work only on ABAP Stack
Hi
Please let me know, whether BSP can work only on ABAP Stack.
If Yes, is there any configuration needs to be done
Regards
Madhan D
Yes Business Server Pages are specific to the ABAP stack.
All config details can be found in the SAP Online Help and the Wiki.

AC5.3 ONLY on ABAP Stack
Hi experts,
we want to upgrade our GRC AC 5.1 (no Java active) to 5.3 with the ABAP system only (only upgrade to GRC 5.3 for RTA ABAP), and follow the known steps to try to import our company defined risks (global company ruleset) definition to the upgraded AC5.3.
However, even when we'll have uploaded these risks into the upgraded GRC system, anybody can suggest how will we be able to verify that the result is correct/successful?
please kindly help - thank you

Edited by: Rossana Ricco on Dec 2, 2010 6:46 PMHi Rossana,
Will try to explain... sorry if it confuse you.
Now all GRC AC 5.x versions consist of two parts (as you all know) - Java Stack and ABAP stack.
the part which goes into ABAP stack is VIRSANH & VIRSAHR.
VIRSAHR should be installled if you have SAP_HR component in you system (even if you don't use it).
Now VIRSANH & VIRSAHR consit of :
1. ALL the BAPI which connect to RAR, CUP, SPM & ERM on JAVA stack.
2. Contain 'AS-IS' from VIRSA 4.0 i.e. all the code related to Compliance Calibrator 4.0, Firefighter 4.0, Risk Terminator & even Role Expert.
Now where is the problem.
Problem is that SAP had stopped all development (bug fixes) on CC 4.0 & Role Expert.
Suppose you upgrade to AC 5.3, means you install VIRSANH 5.3, and you have a bug in CC 4.0, SAP will NOT fix it.
So kindly cross check with SAP first and only then upgrade to VIRSANH 5.3.
Else you are as good on 5.1, reason being there is not much functionlity change from CC 4.0 to VIRSANH 5.1 to VIRSANH 5.3.
Hope you get my point.
Even then if you are willing to upgrade then, I don't think you will face any issue. As there is no table structure change. Just download from Toolbox all the table.
download Global ruleset, all the five Rule matrix, all mitigation data.

Configuring Adobe Document Services using only the ABAP stack
Hi experts!
Would it be possible to configure ADS if your SAP system has no Java stack, and without having to connect it to another system that has a Java stack or portal?
We've come across a how-to-guide here in SDN about offline interactive forms; in its introduction we are told that in fact the ADS comes included with WAS 6.40, but it doesn't specifically tell how to configure it. There is also the possibility that we misunderstood that statement though.
If anybody got ideas, kindly let me know. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
JosephYeah, the illustration in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/37/504b8cbc2848a494facfdc09a359b1/frameset.htm -> Architecture give this point as well.

Hello All,
I have a query regarding the Firefighter (GRC V5.2) component in the Access Control Suite of SAP GRC. I heard that Firefighter works only for ABAP stack and not for Java stack. Clearly what is ABAP stack & Java stack?
And is this the same case with Superuser Privilage Management(GRC V5.3) as well?
Regards,Hi,
Each Access Control product requires the following two components:
A common ABAP-based component that resides on your SAP ERP server. This component is called a u201CReal-Time Agent,u201D or RTA. The RTA accesses data from your SAP system and communicates with the front-end Java component, to allow you to see and make changes to that data.
A Java-based component that resides on your web application server. This component provides the user interface you use to make changes in your SAP database. The Java component sends data queries and revised data to the ABAP component, which connects directly to the SAP database.
In Firefighter , The configurations will be done in abap stack using /virsa/vfat tcode. Only reports can be seen in java front end. But in other Components we do configurations in java stack.
I hope this helps you. Please allot points is this helps you.
Thanks,

Can you do webreporting with WAS6.40(only ABAP stack)
Hi gurus,
I have one question:
Is it possible to do webreporting with a WAS6.40(only abap)without a java stack. Only the ABAP stack is installed.
So design/publish reports with the BEx Web Application designer
Thanks for your reactions in advance.Hi,
Till BW Version 3.5 it should be possible because the Webreporting Enviroment is fully written in ABAP.
In BI 2004s i know that same things are written in Java, so i think it will not work.

Can we create Interactive forms only with ABAP & without using GP, or Java
Hi,
I would like to know if we can create Interactive forms only with ABAP & without using GP or Java. We want to develop an offline solution using Interactive forms, but would like to use only ABAP for creating the forms. All the documents so far either refer to creating the forms, in reference to / in sync with: ISR (Service Requests), GP (General Procedures) or Java. Can this be done with ABAP alone?
Regards,
Ramesh
Edited by: Ramesh Nallabelli on Apr 16, 2008 12:02 AMHello Ramesh,
You should be able to create Adobe Interactive Forms using only the ABAP stack (without GP, Java, etc). Please refer to the thread below. Hope it helps.

NW04 system copy : we only need the abap stack
Hello,
We have a BW 3.5 Production environnement :
Netweaver 04
Oracle 9.2
ABAP + JAVA stack have been initially installed on the same server but the java instance parameters have been since deactivated. The Java stack has never been used.
Now, we're planning to install the same BW 3.5 QAS environnement (only the abap stack), configure it, and afterwards perform a typical homogeneous system copy (backup/restore) from the production environnement.
Since we don't need at all the java part, do you think that could work ? Is there any risk of inconsistency ?
Or do we have to install double a stack QAS enviroonement and then perform the system copy based on sapinst
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards. You will have to perform following steps
1. Export the CI system on Source system
2. Clone the source Database to Target database. We have used IBM's Flash copy tool to accomplish that.
3. On target install SCS , restore the DB and then import CI.
We also have dual stack in ECC Production environment and we don't use JAVA as much.
If you have any more questions, please let me know.
Thanks

Can work in bpc only with user bpc_sysadmin
Hi, Guys!
I have just install BPC for NW sp03. I have windows domain controller and computer with window server that was included on this domain. on this computer I have install .NET part of the BPC. Under the user bpc_sysadmin I can saw the users that are into domain in adminstration console. I can add them into the apshell and other application sets. I gave them all the permissions.
but when I am trying to access my application sets I can't saw them. so I can work only with my user bpc_sysadmin. what I am doing wrong? thanksHi,
normally when you run connection wizard, here once you mention the valid user name and pwd and at the end it will tell you "no application sets available for this user" if this user is not added properly for this application set.
So you should check the secuirty again using your admin user and see that you have added this user, assigned to team/task profile and member access profile. Also check the task profile and member access profiles if they are configured correctly or not.

Hi,
I need to know whether the Java stack can run without the ABAP stack.
I am running a PI 7.1 system and my system is a bit low on memory.
Since we use a web browser for all development work, I needed to know whether it is possible to only run the Java stack and "switch off" the ABAP stack. This way I intend to free up memory for development.
If this is possible, I would like to know how to "switch off" the ABAP stack.
I am running SAP on Oracle 10.2.0.4 and Windows 2003 Ent Server x64.
Thanks
PrasadHello,
In dual stack you cannot stop ABAP stack alone but you can stop java alone by jcmon or SMCIM
for permanant disabling of java engine
by changing below j2ee parameter in instance profile to 0
rdisp/j2ee_start_control = 1
rdisp/j2ee_start = 1
but if you are looking for PI system running you should have dual stack compulsary

Publishing a Web ABAP Service with ABAP stack
Hi,
We are only running ABAP Stack (we don't have Java Stack) in a SAP ECC 6.0 version.
We have a RFC (or BAPI), for instance BAPI_CUSTOMER_GETDETAIL.
How could we publish a Web ABAP Service?
Thanks.

Pls suggestHi James Bond
From the exception above, it can be seen that the AppIntegrator iView is trying to run on the "SAP_LocalSystem" where it should be running on a "real" backend system.
Please check what is the System alias in this iView and make sure it points on a backend system which has the same alias in the Portal System landscape.
Hope that helps,

Java stack and ABAP stack in upgrading SP
Hi,
pls pardon if it appears silly question. I dont have much knowledge in Basis
I am on XI3.0 with SP 09 and upgrading SP to SP20 from SAP service market place.
How can I identify which is java stack and which is ABAP stack in evrery SP because Java stack can be directly upgraded to SP20 but ABAP stack has to be upgraded one by one (like sp 01..10..11..finally sp20).
Could you pls let me know, from the list of files how can I identify which is ABAP stack and which is java stack ? so that I can first update the ABAP Stack one by one and then move to javastack
thanks,

How do I get a variable, or object from ABAP STACK.
Hey Gurus,
How do I get a variable, or object from ABAP STACK.
Example: I start my FM. I can see in the ABAP STACK the variable I need. I can see the object; I could use to get my variable. I need to use it in my FM; however I need to reference it in the run time. How do I do that?
Is there a method I can use for reading ABAP STACK?
Do I just use command: get reference of u2026?
Does anyone have an example code?
Basis version 7
Thanks in advance
MartinAh, you mean you want to access a variable from another program in the call stack, yes? You can do this using field symbols, but please don't try to change a value while doing this, it could really screw things up.
this example, is using two programs, where the second is accessing variables of the first program. Basically just notice that we are using the program name and the variable name when assigning the field symbol.
report zrich_0006 .
tables: mara.
parameters: p_matnr type mara-matnr..
data: matnr type mara-matnr.
data: imarc type table of marc with header line.
matnr = p_matnr.
select * from marc into table imarc up to 10 rows
where matnr = p_matnr.
perform in in program zrich_0007.
report zrich_0007 .
* FORM in *
form in.
data: field(50).
data: xmarc type marc.
field-symbols: <matnr>.
field-symbols: <imarc> type marc_upl_tt.
* Assign an individual variable
field = '(ZRICH_0006)matnr'.
assign (field) to <matnr>.
* Assign an internal table
field = '(ZRICH_0006)IMARC[]'.
assign (field) to <imarc>.
* Write out your data
write <matnr>.
loop at <imarc> into xmarc.
write: / xmarc-werks.
endloop.
endform.

I've just started to learn JSF, read corresponding chapters in J2EE guide and spec and tried to play little bit with JSF RI 1.1_01. I found very strange (at least for me) behaviour of regular input component (corresponds to inputText tag). I have ver
