Please help us in achieving the below requirement.
Requirement is to store User Selected values in prompts when the report is opened by a User for the first time and make use of those values to refresh the report next time onwards.
1.Can this be achieved in WebI ?
2.If it is thru SDK(we use Java), any experience/help in doing this ?
Environment : BO XI 3.1 with SAP BW Integration

If your requirement is to display user selected values in report then answer is YES. For that use UserResponce function.
UserResponce('Data provider name ','Prompt name')
When user selects some prompt values for the first time then from second time onwards those default values will be appeared for the prompts when report is refreshed. Users who are viewing reports for the second time can change the default values or can give new values.......

I am from a SAP BI background. I am very new to Bussiness Object tool...... In my current client there is a requirement where I need to do a Jump query from one query , by passing the variables and the query result.
1) I know this is possible in Bex using the tcode (RSBBS)...... Do they have any similar feature in Webi.....?
2) also we can pass the result of one query as a filter value to another query in Bex ( using replacement path)..... Is this possible in Webi ?

Whether it is possible to make auto goods issue below safety stock level

Hi SAP Gurus,
I am implementing MRP for generating stock transfer Planned orders from a Main Mother Plant to different Plants. We have defined a Safety stock level for materials at main Plant level.
There is a auto program available for generating auto goods issue against Purchase orders.
System picks up Qty as long as unrestricted stock exists for the material during auto goods issue.
System dont pick up any Qty below safety stock level (manual goods issue works below safety stock level).
We are defining safety stock to meet sudden requirements and have time for new procurement.
But it should allow us to do auto goods issue below safety stock level.
Whether this is possible and what need to be done ?

I don't think auto GR is a problem from safety stock. Auto Gr can be done by two ways.
1. Control key and assigning the control key in operation(Preferably in last operation)
2. In production scheduling profile you can do it. You have to assign the production scheduling profile in material master work scheduling view.

ps. backgroud of my request is, that I purchased LR in a box in 2013. The computer where this is on, is at the end of its life and I have no LR box with License or any reference nr's anymore.
Copied to my new Laptop, which maybe is not allowed if I understand you correct, it didn't work.
Pitty, because afterall it is still my legally relatively recent purchased LR version.
I thought to overcome this problem in future by putting it on my NAS. Safe for many years to come.

Having set constant number in these fields (Â«Y Axis Min Â», Â«Y Axis MaxÂ», Â«Chart WidthÂ»,Â«Chart Height Â»,Â«Maximum RowsÂ») it is possible to change parameters of the chart.
And whether it is possible to change them during performance of the program (to substitute in them the necessary plsql-variables)?

A question for the HTMLDB gurus, has the limitation been fixed? I mean, can you use variables to set min/max for charts?
I am using htmldb 2.0 and I can not put anything but constant number for min/max.
btw. is there a way to use htmldb api to manually code a chart so I can set min/max dynamically like what we have in Microsoft Excel?

HTML, JavaScript, Applets possible in Web-Dynpro Applications?

I'm developing a JEE5-Application using Web-Dynpro for the User-Interface. Web-Dynpro works fine for the most functions and processes of the application. But there are some special requirements i don't know to implement them using Web-Dynpro.
So my question is, if there is the possibility for:
using HTML-Code in a Web-Dynpro UI-App (the HTML dynamically generated by Web-Dynpro)
using JavaScript in the Web-Dynpro UI-App
using Java-Applets (for example to interact if local computer resources)
using an HTML-Editor for editing Texts in the Application (for example freeware Edtior fckeditor)
or do i have to use JSF in that case?

Ans: it is possible to put the HTML code in the WebDynpro UI App. Use the IFrame Ui element to do the same. See this:

How do I check whether Java is installed on web-user machine via browser?

My task is to determine whether the visitor can run java applets on his PC. To know this I need to check whether the visitor has JRE installed.
I tried to use navigator.javaEnabled() function for this, but actually it gives information only about the browser's permissions.
Also I tried to use deployJava script for this, but looks like it tried to run some java applet and this raised some popups on my browser. Sometimes it asks the user to permit the evaluation of java, which is not a suitable behavior for me.
I know there is a page http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp which also checks for java. I lioke this page: it doesn't ask some security permissions and displays the java version correctly.
So the question is: how can I check java version on some web-site visitor PC reliably and without showing security permission dialogs?

You know what the joke is? It uses the deployJava script. I did a quick hack check of the page source (wasn't easy since it refreshes really quickly).

If you follow in my footsteps you can get the page source of the java.com page as well and "learn" from it. Probably some http sniffer browser plugin or a plugin to get the source of a URL is easier though.

Further to what Faraz has said, Web Dynpro can be seen as an implementation of the Framework pattern.
Essentially you write normal Java code with access to various Java objects exposed/generated by the Web Dynpro Framework inside "hook" functions.
The Web Dynpro framework then calls your functions at various stages when the page renders and when actions are triggered.
For a high level understanding of this, not specific to Web Dynpro, research the concept of OO Frameworks pattersn.

Is it possible in Web Analysis?

The Hyperion version is 9.2.1.
Met some issues when using Web Analysis, not sure is it a limitation or some mis-usage.

2.When use drill down link the data in rows and columns can not be passed to next level, only the diminution marked as filter can passed to next level.
3.When building pie chart with the table, is there any options to configure the x-axis and y-axis? in the fact I want to swap the x-axis and y-axis, the default pie chat can not meet our requirements, is there any workaround to do that?
4.When the columns (values in the x-axis) exceed 2000, we got an ACException. Is it a limitation of Web Analysis?
5.The drop down list only support no more than 2000 values? We got an MaxSubscriptionControlSize warning. Is it a limitation of Web Analysis?
6.When I want to select a span of time, From yyyy-mm to yyyy-mm, I have to user checkbox to check every month in the time slot, is there any more friendly way to do that? Like a from .... to ..... filter.

I may be misunderstanding your question but have you tried swapping what you have for Rows & Columns? That should switch the axis. You said the default chart isn't meeting your requirements...one other chart property you may want to explore is "Series Effects | Chart all dimensions". Watch how your chart changes with this setting when you have more than 1 dimension in the Rows for example.

What do the buttons or menus need to do? Simply open a report? You can create a report to function as your main menu with Services buttons on there that will open report(s). Use a Panel and create buttons on there, un-check Opaque, Set the border to None or Raised Bevel, give the Button a title such as "Hours and Earnings Report" with a large font & bold. It's a pretty decent looking main menu when you get done. Give the Panel a background color such as white or cream. Anchor | Slack. Provide a title section at the top which is just another panel set to Anchor | Top. Put your logo up there as well as a Main Menu title and Services button to Logout, etc.

That's true. Users can use the "Undo/Redo" buttons at the top (assuming you allow them to see the Toolbar). It has the same effect, it will un-do your last drill down or drill up, and you can undo more than just the last 1.

Home Page is set to Document, and browse to find the Document and put it under "Document Location".
Then Under "Startup" choose the radio button "Home Page".
