Is the "Standard Edition" a free download (for personal use by developer)?

If so - where is the Universal Installer download?
Or, does that price apply only to the "XE" database,
application express?

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. You can create an App store account without a credit card, however that won't help you with updating your previous purchases. Apps are DRM protected, and tied to the account that was used to originally purchase them. There is no way to overcome this DRM protection or transfer them to another account(Itunes support can if you contact them). If you want to create an App store account without a credit card, follow the directions here, but bear in mind the DRM protection mentioned. If you use this account to download free apps, you will have to use this same account for all future updates:

I would like to create a database instance(s) and install a development environment (which will include Oracle Forms 11g and Reports 11g as well as APEX and JDeveloper), on my laptop. The laptop has an I5-2520 processor. The set-up is for learning purposes and I do not mind purchasing a license, if it is necessary. My laptop can be installed with an appropriate OS, if one is suggested. Currently, it has Windows 7 Professional 64.
My questions are:
1) Can a development environment be set-up on my laptop?
2) Which Oracle 11g R2 Database Editions (SE1, SE, EE, PE, XE) support Fusion Middleware for the development tools listed above?
3) Does anyone know of a document detailing the steps from installation of the DB to the installation of the development tools as well as any configuration steps?
Just need a point in the right direction. Any input would be welcome.

I am trying to download a free app to my iPhone 4, but after entering my correct password I get the message "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". The only option is to hit OK which achieves nothing. How can I connect to the store?

I've heard stories like this but it just happened to me and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Apple allows apps to list themselves as "Free" if the initial download is free, even if the app has kid-oriented inducements for costly in-app purchases. The in-app purchases are almost always ridiculous, over-priced game accessories, such as "jewels," "brains," and "power ups." (I can imagine what the ones in Campus Life were that justified a $99 price tag.)
To Apple's credit, they have a good record of granting refunds provided you explain the extenuating circumstances (unintentional purchase by a minor) and only ask once. Contact iTunes Customer Service.
As Stedman notes, you need to immediately place restrictions on the devices. The restrictions are off by default (caveat emptor!), so you need to take action to place them. See this document: iOS: Understanding Restrictions

I don't understand why I can't download for free the apps designed by Apple, such as Pages and Numbers, which are free with iOS 7. Can anyone help me?
The apps are free with iOS 7 if you purchased a new device after September 2013. The apps do not come free just because you are running iOS 7 now. Did you purchase or receive a new iPad recently?
If you did, are you using the same Apple ID to get the apps that you used to activate the iPad? If you are, sign out of your ID, restart your iPad, sign in again and go back to the App Syore and see if the apps show up as free.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and go back to the settings and sign in again. -
Is it safe to download a "free" youtube video converter for MAC and if so, which one is recommended?
Is it safe to download a "free" Youtube video converter (Ex. "freemake.com") for MAC or is there a better program recommended to convert these videos to DVD? Thanks!
Youtube's ToU specifically state that downloads of any content is prohibited unless there is a download button available for a particular video.

Oracle client installation does not have the option to create a database, so you will need to go with one of the following:
- Oracle Database Standard Edition One
- Oracle Database Standard Edition
- Oracle Database Enterprise Edition
- Oracle Database Express Edition

Not sure which express version to download
I am first-time downloading the free express edition 10g I think. Two editions, Western European (single-byte) and Universal (unicode) are available. I live in the United States, Arizona - which version should I choose? From the documentation, it looks like the Western European version but I would like to know for sure before I install. thanks, anne
Welcome to the forums !
The WE version is capable of storing data in most Western languages. If you plan to store data in Oriental (double-byte) languages (like Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc), you will need the UTF8 version.

I downloaded a free Merriam-Webster Dictionary app for use on my iphone 5. I thought I followed the download process properly, but cannot see that the app is launched on my phone. I have checked my phone for 'updates' and the app is listed among the ones I have purchased. I clicked on it and it began installing, however, it still has not launched. I get a message screen to sign in with my Apple ID, which I tried, and I get the message that I have purchased this app and it will download. When I try to sign in, I get the message that it can't connect to the itunes store and to retry. I've done that several times without any luck...not sure where else to look for the 'working' app. I did try re-booting the phone...even did a 'hard reset' to no avail...help?

If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

I have just received an ipad and trying to find my way around. I have created an apple id and I want to download a game that is marked as free. However it comes up with a box for me to fill in my visa card details which it then rejects. What do I have to do to download a free app. Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks.

This is so frustrating! I have an itunes store account, etc. I lost all my info when I had to "restore" my iphone.
I wasn't able to do the "restore" until recently, gosh it was about 6mos or more ago when my iphone died...
So, as I get older I am having memory problems and haven't been able to access my itunes account.
Obviously when I did the "restore" on my iphone I lost all my info with it... So, wanting to use my iphone for
music, games, etc. I had to create a new apple id, fine, but when I wanted to download a "free" app it says
my apple id hasn't been used with itunes so it keeps asking for credit card info.
I do not remember ever having to have a credit card before!
I am so frustrated... First it was not being able to access my account then having to create a new one, fine!

I need to know how to enable itunes and downloads to show on all my devices Iphone and ipad and this PC also. icloud content to be available on all devices even if i download a free music app or tv show from itunes or the App store i want to know how to store it in the cloud and view it on all devices no matter which app or itunes store i downloaded it from. Sorry... But... You cannot use other countries itunes stores.
You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country...
