  • What files formats does Itunes support

what files formats does Itunes support???
Been trying to load some anime into Itunes and they wont play on my Apple Tv, though they play on the computer. Why is that. I've got codes and all that other jazz. What gives....

iTunes 11 can currently read, write and convert between MP3, AIFF, WAV, MPEG-4, AAC and Apple Lossless (.m4a).
iTunes can also play any audio files that QuickTime can play (as well as some video formats), including Protected AAC files from the iTunes Store and Audible.com audio books. There is limited support for Vorbis and FLAC enclosed in an Ogg container (files using the Ogg container format are not natively supported) or Speex codecs with the Xiph QuickTime Components. Because tag editing and album art is done within iTunes and not QuickTime, these features will not work with these QuickTime components. As of Snow Leopard, iTunes 9 (Mac) will play HE-AAC / AAC+ internet streams. The latest version of iTunes (Win/Mac) supports importing audio CDs with the default iTunes standard file format of AAC at 256 kbit/s, but users can choose from 16 kbit/s to 320 kbit/s constant bit rates (CBR) in either AAC or MP3.[citation needed] Importing of audio CDs into MP3 or AAC formats can also be accomplished using variable bitrate (VBR) encoding.
The Windows version of iTunes can automatically transcode DRM-free WMA (including version 9) files to other audio formats, but does not support playback of WMA files and will not transcode DRM protected WMA files. Telestream, Inc. provides free codecs for Mac users of QuickTime to enable playback of unprotected Windows Media files. These codecs are recommended by Microsoft.[34]
In addition to importing CDs into the iTunes library, the user can also import non-Apple mp3 files from Amazon.com and other sources. This can be accomplished by either right clicking on the file, selecting open with, and then selecting iTunes or dragging the file into the open iTunes window. Alternatively, for Amazon.com mp3s, the Amazon MP3 Downloader application will automatically import the mp3 files into the iTunes library.

  • Which file formats does the Bridge Output Module (Web Gallery) support?

I've searched all over but can't seem to find a list. I'm hoping it supports video, but can't seem to find a format that works. I know it exports Flash, but which import formats does it support?
FWIW, I'm still on CS4 but have access to CS5.5 if need be.
    Thanks

Hello, according to the help file, it is html, flash, and PDF: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/creativesuite/cs/using/WSe851854fd1e0856a-4b08a77612477f69f15- 8000.html

    Regards,

    Hello,
In my case our bank was sending us a file using the version 085, while we were waiting for one of those: 030, 040, 050, 084 or 087.
Now they will send these files using the version 087.
    Thank you!

  • Which External File format to choose?

Hello I use aperture only for wedding professional photography, which external file format is better to use? TIFF or  PSD , 8 BIT OR 16 BIT?
    Thanks a lot!
    Enrico

Since your raw images probably have more than 8 BIT, I'd pick one of the 16 BIT formats. This will ensure a very high quality when doing color adjustments, skin smoothing and retouching. As for the difference tiff-pds, I have no clear preference. Both are lossless formats and work well with Photoshops layers; only the file size usually is higher for uncompressed TIFFs then for comparable PSDs. What is the external editor you want to use? Have a look, what the manufacturer recommends.

    saramultimedia,
Are you certain that you're asking your question in the right place? This forum is about the Adobe Media Encoder application. Most of the people who answer questions here are familiar with the digital video and audio applications such as After Effects and Premiere Pro.
If you have a question about Director, it's probably best to ask on the Director forum. But I see that you already know that, since you already have a thread on that forum to ask this question, and it got an answer:

So I recently installed a Mac Mini with Mavericks and Server 3.2.2 in the main office of my company and everything has been going well, minus a few expected bugs, until recently. Starting last week we've been experiencing random intervals where File Sharing stopped working altogether, and I'd been able to reboot and get it running again. Unfortunately, as I'm the Systems and Server Admin, I've been too busy to look at the logs until now (following the degradation of one of the drives in our DAT-Optic RAID system, I figured it was time to make it a priority), and I'm seeing dozens of entries in the system logs regarding the process smbd with file system does not support errors.

As far as I can tell, nothing else has changed in our system except for the fact that one of the drives died and was rebuilt as of yesterday (these smbd problems extend to last week shortly after I updated to 3.2.2 I believe). Any help would be much appreciated. I would normally first attempt a repair permissions to see if the issue is related to a bad plist somewhere but the last time we did that, our ACLs were duplicated across our file share and often incorrectly. I'm not sure if it's just me but the last Mac Server software I used was Snow Leopard Server (when it was still a full OS version) and it was infinitely more stable than what I've experienced thus far with Server 3. Anyway, I appreciate any help/advice that can be given and I apologize for the rant.

Been getting the same errors for a while.

Believe they are related to random disconnects from the file server (10.9.5).

  • Highlight File Format and PDF Documents with Chinese and English characters

I'm a developer working on an application that makes use of the Highlight File Format / external highlight server capabilities of Adobe Reader.
The highlighting worked correctly until we started to introduce pdf documents that were scanned to recognize Chinese in addition to English.
The xml file seems to have the correct values in it. For example, if the 10 characters to highlight are at position 41 on the first page. The "xml" file has the <loc pg=0 pos=41 len=10>.
If the document is scanned for English only, it works fine. That is, the highlight starts at character 41. If the same document is scanned for Chinese and English, the highlight starts at character 22.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you know a solution?

    Hi,
I don't know about BIP and the specifics of your context, but here are some general answers for the XLIFF format:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'utf-8'?>
Can we change encoding to 'ISO-8859-1' as soon as we convert the file format ?If you also save the file to ISO-8859-1 as well yes. But you can do this only for languages supported by Latin-1. It makes sense to keep the files in UTF-8.
A-2) he section <header><skl><internal-file> contains a huge string
which seeem to be binary ... What is this ? can we delete it ?That's likely to be the skeleton file. The data used to rebuild the original format after translation.
Most likely it should stay there.
A-3) Can we have one XLF file with muliple <file> sections (one per language to translate to ) ?
This can be very useful for us to manage one only translation file per report template.Yes but no: yves you can have several <file> elements in an XLIFF document, but no: they must be for the same language pair. XLIFF is designed to work with bi-lingual files, not multi-lingual files.
A-4) the most important section for translation is included in the <trans-unit> tag .
Each one has a distinct id like ""49e41f8f" ... Can we replace this by a more meaningfull value ?Those id attributes are used by the filter to merge back the data after translation. You should preserve them.
A-5) the language format is like "en-US" (language code + territory code).
Is it case sensitive ? No it is not case-sensitive (en-us == en-US). The values of xml:lang are not case sensitive (unlike other XML attribute values).
en-US is just the recommended notation.
    The XLIFF specification are here:
    http://docs.oasis-open.org/xliff/xliff-core/xliff-core.html
    Hope this helps,

  • I have the Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 "Classroom in a Book" but my computer says "File Format is not Supported" when I try to use accompanying DVD. What is wrong please, I really like the book and want to learn!

I've had the product for a while and have tried editing without the book and using video's but it goes slow and I don't feel like I'm learning.
I'm sure there are shortcuts to be had and I'm re-inventing the wheel it seems.
"File Format not supported" means exactly what? Is my Windows Version not compatible?
Not used to chat rooms, would prefer personal training but that is not the way of things anymore.

Okay, so I Right Click and nothing says "Link Media".
When I double click on an asset it says, "the selected file cannot be linked because it has 2 audio channel(s) and the clip was created with 1 audio channel(s)."
However 1 video clip asset does open in CS4.
The "Lesson One" project itself says, "file format not supported." still.

  • Are photoshop file format plug-ins supported by the InDesign SDK?

If not, is it possible to read new file formats into InDesign? Thanks,
    Rob

I'm trying to import NITF image files. I already have a photoshop file format plugin that can read these images and was hoping that it could (somehow) be used to import images into InDesign as well. It appears as if this is definitely NOT possible.
My use case is that I'd like to read a NITF image into Photoshop. The images I deal with are typically single channel 16 bit images. I'd like to then use Photoshop to process the image (e.g., brighten certain parts of the histogram and/or crop the image). I'd then like an easy way to get the image into InDesign. My initial thought was to use a function that could just pass it over, but it appears as if that is not possible.
It looks like I'll either have to figure out if cutting/pasting is acceptable and, if not, save the image to disk and re-read it. Next I must find answers to these questions:
    a) Does the InDesign's SDK API provide the ability add to the list of supported image types that can be imported?
    b) Does InDesign's SDK API provide the ability to create new document save types?
    c) Does it make any sense to use a 16 bit/channel image in InDesign? I notice that it can read a 16 bit tiff file, but there doesn't appear to be any photoshop like controls to adjust the visible dynamic range.
Thank you all for your help!

  • Which data file format is better for storing setup information? XML, ASCII or Binary?

    Hello,
Our application is using cluster, string, Integer and other data types and storing them in ASCII files.  We are using flatten to string function and storing it to the text file.  However, going ahead we want to migrate to XML file format.  Is it a good idea?  What would be the pros and cons?
    Thanks.

If you are using LabVIEW's Flatten to String function, you are storing your data as binary, even if you are sending a string to the file writer.
The issues you will run into using this method or any of the canned LabVIEW XML VIs:  If your data type changes, your files can't be read in any more.  You mentioned you have clusters.  If you add an element or take one away, the old files won't be read in anymore.  You would have to store old versions of the data type and file reader and then convert the old data type to the new data type.
The nice thing about OpenG's INI functions is they take variant's, so you can pass complex data structures and it will write the file.  If the data type changes, as long as it can be coerced into the format, it will still be read in.  If you pass a cluster and a value is missing from the INI, the default is used.  If there is an extra value in the INI, it's just skipped.  So, your reader and writers can be updated without as much concern about supporting old data files.
One method you can do if you want to use binary is the "TLD" method.  TLD stands for Type, Length, Data.  I use an enum for the Type.  The Length is just the length of the Data which follows, and then the data is the binary data.  If I change a data type, then I create a new enum value (always has to be added to the end of the list to maintain value consistency with the old files).  This way, the reader can still handle the old data type and convert it into the new data type in whatever method is necessary.  It can also completely ignore it if desired.  I usually process clusters as individual items so I don't have to save old versions of the cluster.  It works quite well and only adds a few bytes per data item.  The big caveat is you have to remember to update your file writer and reader whenever you change a datatype or add a new value.

  • What Audio Formats Does iTunes Supports?

is there a way to find out what formats iTunes supports?
for example, does iTunes support OptimFROG Loseless or FLAC Loseless?
    thanks.

iTunes uses Quicktime for audio playback and plays Apple Lossless, WAV, AIFF, MP3 and AAC files. If you want to play other formats, you generally have to convert them to a format iTunes supports (I use Apple Lossless myself). iTunes to FLAC is a group of Applescripts enabling FLAC file conversion in iTunes. For a guide to enabling OGG support in iTunes, see here. Other file conversion tools I use are Max and xAct.
