Which AC adapter do i use in India?

Hi,
I have a Powerbook and want to use it in India. Mine runs on 110V and is made for flat pin sockets.
In India the voltage is 220-240 V and the sockets are round shaped.
Can anyone suggest the following -
1. Name of the AC adapter that can be used.
2. I want to purchase the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit, will it come with a 110V to 240V converter?
regards,
sameer.

Welcome to the Discussions Sameer.
Take a look at your AC adapter. It should say "Input 1.2A 100-240V", which means that it can automatically handle input voltage in that range, so it will work fine in India (or anywhere else in the world) in regards to supplying power.
The only thing you have to do is use the correct plug adapter for the round pins. The Apple World Travel Adapter Kit contains neat plugs for the AC adapter (not the AC adapter itself), but really, you don't need it: a standard travel adapter that converts to the Indian plug type can be used with your existing plug (usually these are much cheaper than the Apple kit, and can be used for any electrical device).

Which wattage adapter should I use with the composite cable when connected to my iPad while watching T. V. .

Ultimately, use the power adapter that came with the iPad. But you should use any USB based power adapter that has a 10 watt/ 2 amp or higher power rating. Look close when buying a thrid party adapter, if it does not specify 10 watts/2 amps it is a lower 5 watt/1 amp charger that will not work.

    Hi lizziezil,
The link below is for the product you are inquiring about from the Apple Store.
There is a plug for Europe in this kit.
Apple World Travel Adapter Kit - Apple Store (U.S.)
    Product Information
The World Travel Adapter Kit includes a USB power adapter, a 30-pin to USB cable, and a set of six AC plugs with prongs that fit different electrical outlets around the world. For world travelers, this is the perfect kit to ensure power connectivity in most countries you may travel to.
The Kit is designed to work with iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple MagSafe Power Adapters (for MacBook and MacBook Pro), Portable Power Adapters (for iBook and PowerBook), and AirPort Express.
The AC plugs included in the World Travel Adapter Kit directly support outlets in North America, Japan, China, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Korea, Australia, and Hong Kong.
Please note. To use this kit with devices that use a Lightning connector — such as iPhone 5, iPad mini, and iPad with Retina display — you will need a Lightning to USB Cable, sold separately.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • Which power adapter should I use?

yes hi I was wondering, if I get a power adapter for my ipod nano which, which one should I get? I have a 2Gb nano if I we're to purchase one which one should I get? I've knowdest that there are 2 kinds of
adapters one of them is for the 10,20,30 or perhaps 40 Gb ipods and the other is for lesser Gb's both packages would say all for ipod models for both adapters. I'm not really sure which one I should get.

Yes, the UK system is far safer than that in Europe. Each of your items should have their own fused plugs, rated as appropriately, then connect to the power surge strip, which is itself protected only up to 13 amp.
You can read about fuse ratings here:
    http://www.davesdiytips.com/2009/08/fuse-ratings-in-plug-tops/
Short answer: use more than one power surge strip, do not plug them into each other, and use separate wall sockets!

  • What world traveler adapter do you use when traveling in India?

What work traveler adapter do you use when traveling in India?

I didn't mean my reply as a rant! Just welcoming another disabled guy on board. Yes, I do budget - and have enough left over to buy software and hardware for my Mac. The 'government' doesn't pay my electric bill - I do - and I pay $460 a month in rent - and I live in a very nice, unsubsidized handicapped and wheelchair accessible apartment.
You really need to work on your anger issues - and although I, too, believe in an afterlife, I can be happy in life just as I am: I've no legs, so getting around is difficult for me but I don't let that stop me from enjoying life.
I've no family remaining save for an uncle and aunt and some cousins - and they're all in Texas. And, although I, too, was "dumped" by most of my middle-class friends, I have a handful of friends on whom I rely.
I don't believe that suicide is a way out, either. My own step-mother blew her brains out after she had a stroke. She was on massive amounts of antidepressants but she took her own life. That way is not for me.
Loosen up and open up a little - I'm sure that you can find something in common even if it's with others who may be disabled. I do some volunteer work with a couple of agencies in town and find that keeps me going - and keeps me from feeling sorry for myself.
If you need anyone to 'talk' to at anytime, just click on my name and my profile with my email address is public. Email me if you like...

  • How to edit bitmap which is imported in flash using xml and save the edited bitmap back to xml in flash.

    hi all
It would be appreciated if any one let me know how to edit
bitmap which is imported in flash using xml and save the edited
bitmap back to xml in flash.
Is it posible to save the bitmap data in flash?
    thanks in advance

Yes you can... but like I said before you need to upload the
data from the changes you make to a server.
In terms of the solution... its unlikely that you'll find one
specifically for your needs. You will have to learn whatever you
don't know how already and maybe adapt some existing examples to
    your needs.
To change the visual state of a movie clip... you just do all
the regular things that you want to do to it using flash... scale,
rotation, drawing API , textfields etc in actionscript. If you
don't know how to how to do that stuff, then you need to learn that
    first. That's basic actionscript.
You can capture the visual state of a movieclip using the
BitmapData class. That includes a loaded jpeg. You can also
manipulate bimatp data using the same class. You should read up on
that if you don't know how to use it or check out the examples
    below for uploading info.
    For uploading to the server:
Here's an as2 solution that took 15 secs to find using
    google:
    http://www.quasimondo.com/archives/000645.php
If you're using as3, google search for "jpeg encoder as3" and
look through that info. There are also historical answers in the
forums here related to this type of thing that might help as
    well.

I am send orders from the R3 via XI to a customer. I'll get an status from the Http-Adapter that I want to send back to the R3. The definition for sending back are all done and fine. I've 2 Idoc-Adapter (Receiver). Adapter A is an old on used in an other scenario and the new on (adapter-B) with the special setting. When I am receiving the ACK from the HTTP-adapter how can I define wich idoc-Adapter has to be used. My problem ist that the adapter A is used which don't have the necessary settings and can't be changed. How/where can I define to use the adapter b for sendign back tke ACK to the R3.
    Regards Jami

    Hi Jami,
Receiver adapters that run on the Adapter Engine support system acknowledgments if they are requested by the sender. Acknowledgements are triggered when a message is successfully processed by the adapter or if an error occurs while it is being processed. Receiver adapters do not support application acknowledgments. The RNIF and CIDX adapters are exceptions to this rule, since they also support scenario-dependent application acknowledgments. Sender adapters of the Adapter Engine do not request any acknowledgments.
There is a guide to handle idoc acknowledgements, in sap xi. please refer,"how to handel acknowledgements for idoc" at,

Have look at "How To Handle Acknowledgments for IDoc" .

  • Iphone instrument use in India

I am planning to import a iphone from USA and to use in India for Airtel (GSM) service provider. Will my iphone work in India? Can I use the same Indian SIM card in my iPhone?

It will NOT work in India. For you to be able to use any of the functions of the iPhone, like WiFi, Calculator, ANYTHING, you must first activate the iPhone with AT&T and sign a 2 year contract. If you do not have a US address, you CANNOT activate the iPhone. It will, however, be a very pretty paperweight.
The iPhone will NOT accept any other SIM than the AT&T SIM.
There are programs out there on the internet that will allow you to "hack" your phone and unlock it from AT&T service. However, this immediately voids your warranty, and you can never update the firmware on your phone, which mean you can't add any upcoming functionality.

  • HT4341 from the apple travel adapter kit what adapter do you use for thailand

from the apple travel adapter kit what adapter do i use for thailand

I've used Apple a few times in the past for 4x6s (with iPhoto) and was really happy with the quality. There are other things about the service that frustrate me though. The shipping time was all over the place. Sometimes it would only take a week or two, other times over a month. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get Order Prints to work for iPhoto or Aperture anymore, so I'm looking for an alternative as well. Something that has an Aperture plug-in would be extra cool, if that exists...
In the meantime, I've just been printing at Wal-Mart or the local camera shop (when they have a sale). The quality isn't as good -- less definition in the prints -- but the order is always ready to pick-up within a couple of hours at the most (which beats getting no prints at all through Apple's service). And the nice thing is, the pictures are printed and boxed in the order they're uploaded. None of this "we print the smallest files first, as they download" silliness from Apple that causes you to have to sort all of your photos again while referencing the images on your computer if you want to put them in chronological order. Does Apple really expect me to believe their printers are just waiting to print my order the split second each image is downloaded? There's no staging process involved whatsoever? Give me a break. I love Apple, but things like this are so backwards from the whole "it just works" mantra that they love to use. Sorry for the rant! I'm a little frustrated with Apple's printing services at the moment (as I'm sure you can tell).
Anyway, you can always give your local Wal-mart a shot. Just do a small order and see how it turns out.

  • Which cassette adapter to buy?

I am planning on buying a 5th Generation IPod Nano. I am not sure which cassette adapter to buy to connect it to the combination CD/Cassette player in my car. I want to play the MP3 player in my car. I heard not to use a FM transmitter because of poor radio reception in my area. I also heard there are no adapters that connect to a CD, only to a cassette. That leaves a cassette as the only way to play my IPod Nano MP3 player in my car. My car is a 1999 Honda Civic, so it is not new and does not have up to date equipment. Which cassette adapter and model number is best for me, sounds good, is not hard to install, and is under $100?

Thanks for the reply. The Monster cassette adapter Model Al Cas - Adpt S you sent me the link for looks pretty good and is only $19.95. I looked at the Monster website (monstercable.com) and they also have another model cassette adapter called the ICAR Play Cassette 800 model AL 800 for $24.95. Do you think this model - the AL 800 - is better for me than the first model - the Adpts S?

I want to buy a mac book pro in US, through a friend, for use in India.

There are no laws about importing electronics.

Yes you will need a new charger or an adapter to fit your power socket.
    badari31 wrote:

No. You need to show where you are studying. They are not going to accept it if it's in another country.
    badari31 wrote:

You don't reside in America, so no finance company is going to give you a loan from America. You will need to organise finance in India.

    Yes.

Don't forget to add sales tax to the American price. You will need to work out & decide if this is worth it or not.

  • Which cable connection do i use for exterior monitor for my macbook OSX version 10.7.3.

please help me figure out which port i need to use for this situation. Thank you for helping save this fail. Happy Monday.

Depends on what input plug you'll be using on your TV. VGA, DVI, Composite or HDMI. You'll need a Mini-DVI adapter and a cable from that to your TV. Here's the various types of Mini-DVI adapters on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13
(Composite is the red, white and yellow RCA plugs on your TV or red, white and S-Video plugs.)
You'll also need audio cables to the TV using a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs for VGA, DVI or Composite. You attach it from the headphone jack of your MacBook to the appropriate input plugs on your TV http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13#/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_19?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=macbo o k+audio+cable&sprefix=macbook+audio+cable&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amacbook+audio+cable
If you connect the MacBook using a Mini-DVI to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo system for audio if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini-DVI to HDMI doesn't carry audio and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
